Inky blackness darkened the water around the ship, clouds overhead cast the area in a dreadful grey. Through the spyglass held in his hand, it looked almost too artificial. Like somebody summoned the rapidly approaching storm.

He lowered the brass from his face, staring out at the dark sea. “Prepare the ship for a storm!” He heard a call from behind him. The skies above opened up and began to weep, rain pouring down with ferocity. Sudden and aggressive, he turned away from the edge, watching his crew move about the ship quickly.

Waves crashed violently against the sides of the ship, sending it off course in mere moments. He pressed his palm to the edge of the spyglass, pressing and closing the brass device. 

“Captain!” Somebody from his crew called to him. But he felt the deep fear in his heart, unable to face the raging seas. He could only hope Davy Jones’ Locker would be as inviting and accepting as he hoped.

“Captain!”

The ship creaked unnaturally as something bashed into the side, the sound of wood splintering was loud. It was almost deafening. His coat whipped around him as his face wetted with the rain. The wind strewed his hair about, stuck pieces of the dark strands to his wet skin. 

“What do we do?!”

“Accept yer fate.”

A figure rose from the water behind him, shadowed by the storm. In the darkness, something dark began to illuminate. Rings of deep blue spiraled from writhing shapes in the darkness. A laugh echoed over the sea, the sheer force shook the ship.

Tendrils enveloped the ship, wrapping around it and causing both crew and cargo to scramble. The captain finally turned as her eyes opened, several large sets of shiny teal and violet eyes set against a terrifying backdrop.

“Is there any way to bargain?!”

She drew closer, all eyes blinking as she inspected the captain who stood his ground despite their odds. Despite his own acceptance of the fate before him. Her head shifted upside down, examining him with inhumane curiosity. 

A creature of the sea. Chances were slim.

The watching crew screamed as a row of sharp fangs became visible, swallowing their captain whole. The ship began to split apart from the force of her body ripping it to shreds, sending the crew and cargo into the abyssal seas below.

Thalassa could only laugh as she used a claw to pick the captain’s flesh from between her fangs. She enjoyed watching them run and scramble, attempt to lower the lifeboats, and attempt to stab at her toughened body.

But there was no escaping the creatures of the dark swept sea.

And there was no escaping Thalassa, the horror of the deep.

you know me, i'm incredibly klapollopilled, of course i'm drawing these two suckers for the wedding zine! <3 something about klapollo marriage makes me incredibly emo so i'm very glad for the opportunity to go all out so i can be EXTRA emo about it 😈

if i remember right, i think this idea came to be when i thought about the image of klavier bursting into tears as he lifts up apollo's veil and it all went from there LOL (also so psyched i get to draw him in a barong tagalog <333)

everything got so much more ambitious, though, from that initial idea! i drew like what (i am counting the number of characters in the spread right now as i type) 40-ISH CHARACTERS ALL IN ALL?! (WHAT THE FUCKDFGDHJ) and i even had to cut out some of the characters i originally had in the sketch 😭 (sorry gumshoe, kay, and seb/eustace ....)

i drew this like a year ago and i'm still so proud of this piece! i don't think i can achieve this level of rendering again, it's been so long i forgot how to do it LMAO

(also i can never reopen the file for this thing again bc it makes clip studio want to dieeeee DFSGHDJ so many layers ...)

another thing, i was working on this in tandem with my piece for the mea culpa zine; do you know how funny it is to draw apollo having such a happy moment and then draw him dying 😭 the contrast, the whiplash

that's all i have to ramble about i think, i'm so so so amazed at this zine bc my zinemates truly made some spectacular pieces of art! :"^D if you have the chance, please do check it out! 💗

One of the best parts of the Apollo Justice game is the absurdity of the situation Apollo is in. Imagine you get hired by Frankie Jonas (you have no idea who the Jonas brothers are) and get asked to defend a local disbarred lawyer (who you do know). That disbarred lawyer adopted Criss Angel's daughter after he disappeared. Frankie Jonas killed Criss Angel. Two months later you find out you're going up against Joe Jonas in court and you haven't even heard Cake By The Ocean. Your client is a member of the LA mafia.

The next case you're on is a murder at Joe Jonas' concert, which you were invited to by him. His guest act was Björk, who unbeknownst to you is your mother. Also the mother of Criss Angel's daughter. But your father is not Criss Angel, it's Sufjan Stevens (deceased). The murderer of Björk's manager was Joe Jonas' bandmate JinJoo Lee.

The game culminates in David Blaine (who was in love with your mom, Björk) confessing to framing Criss Angel for David Copperfield's (your grandfather) suicide, and Frankie Jonas admitting that he has committed a second murder. And your new boss has been working with Interpol or some shit for the last seven years to take Frankie Jonas down and get his badge back.

The Herald

While the seas are a rocky place for merchants and military ships alike due to pirates. The Herald often blows such crews out of the water with their own might.

A dastardly band of pirates led by a feared captain, The Herald chooses to leave the pieces of their victims behind as a warning to other crews. There is no score too dangerous to ignore to the crew of The Herald.

The crew boasts no normal humans, only those touched by darkness, controlled by it, or cursed by it. A lasting fright to any who may be unfortunate enough to survive their attack.

was thinking about the possibility of trucy either recognising her mother when she first meets lamirior, or at least being very unnerved at how much lamirior resembles thalassa (obviously unaware its actually her). it makes the part where apollo and trucy find thalassa unconscious in the guitar case just a bit more painful, considering her reaction (clinging onto apollo’s arm and crying)
