there's a pause after the words finally register on viktor's mind, it's comical, the way he slowly glances up at her: puppy eyed, almost silently begging her to say she's kidding; and then just BLINKS for a moment. taking it all in at the same time he hopes and prays she's only messing with him. "is that an actual prediction or just, you know, a general warning?" if it's the latter he can deal with it, he thinks. one can never be TOO careful with that part of themselves. if it's a prophetic claim then... he doesn't know what to think. this wasn't even a possibility on his mind when he decided to support damaris.

the relief is almost immediate when he finally catches sight of a familiar face and he can't help the smile that takes over his whole expression as soon as he realizes who it is too. "luna... it's SO good to see you." it's clear he actually means it too, since just a few minutes ago he was lost in the middle of a growing crowd. "did you know you really stand out even when you're surrounded by people? you're like a godsend actually, i was starting to get overwhelmed."

the confusion is clear, thick eyebrows furrow as he looks at the other man. for some reason, his intuition is telling him he already knows him; and the features are familiar too. but he can't exactly pinpoint where or how this prior meeting has happened. he can guess, maybe hogwarts days but it feels more recent somehow. "wait, are you sure we haven't met before?" his tone is suspicious and his demeanor is too, though he is trying to not be. "also what is this voting thing you're telling me about? i'm not sure i'm following."

"⸻ i just don't see how this is necessary..." it's like the FIFTH time he says it in the last half hour. but the more he repeats it the clearer it became that he was being purposefully ignored. as much as he enjoyed this kind of celebrations, viktor didn't really see the need in going ALL OUT like other people had with their elaborate costumes. still, he followed behind his friend stall by stall, protesting but obedient nonetheless. "i already have my hat... it's even the durmstrang colors."

viktor doesn't want to admit it to himself but he's feeling a little lost, there were TOO MANY things to do. it was probably a bit presumptuous of him to think that he could just throw himself in at the deep end when he knows this is his first ever renaissance fair but... oh well, go big or go home, no? there's some relief in knowing that at least he doesn't look out of place; all thanks to lavender's ( partially unwanted but very much welcomed and appreciated ) help. the jester attire made him feel a bit more at ease, somehow, maybe because he wasn't so easily recognized. that's half of the reason why he doesn't find it too troublesome to reach out to someone nearby and offer his best, friendliest, smile. "hey, sorry for bothering you. maybe you could help? if this was your very first fair... where would you begin?"

he was going to regret this in the morning, that much was sure. right now though? best idea ever. he was overjoyed to spend as many galleons as he had to for this lifelong decision. clearly the firewhisky on his veins was taking the reins right now. "uh... i don't really know, you can tattoo whatever you want, maybe a golden snitch or somethin' like that." cliché, yeah... but he didn't really care at the moment. "nothing outrageous though." at least he was conscious enough to not get the equivalent of a tramp stamp.

call him old fashioned but this wasn't really what he had in mind when he was invited to a charity match. granted, this was a few hours before the match; something he'd rarely had the chance to witness from the non-player side lately; so maybe this WAS the norm and he just didn't know about it. still, something tells him that having someone judging your every move as you try to set up your tent is NOT really part of the british quidditch customs but he could be wrong. "uh..." he lets out a soft sigh, as he finally manages to successfully attach the poles into their corresponding places. "it is done, i think..." his eyes flash to kaela, already expecting a comment. "good enough?"

"what did you just say?" the offense is clear in his tone as he looks in the general direction of the unlucky wizard that had somehow irked him just enough to ignite a spark of anger within him. it wasn't THAT serious, really... but as it is normally, viktor is VERY easy to anger; add just a drop of alcohol into the mix and well... you get whatever this is about to be.

"tempest, right?" there's a faint smile as he approaches, firewhisky in hand as a friendly offer. he's had several himself, never one to say no to celebratory drinks; or ANY kind of drink for that matter. "didn't get to say it earlier but AMAZING work up there in the field." he takes a quick swig of his own drink, feeling the liquid burn pleasantly as it went down. "do you play professionally?"

a little bit MORE drunk than he was willing to admit and in severe need of a five minutes break from the celebrations viktor had made his way towards his ( and niko's ) shared tent to look for his wallet. maybe NOT his wisest idea, since he was known to be a little bit too generous with his galleons once enough alcohol was on his system but... that will be a problem for the future. it's as he's making his way back that he hears some rustling near his tent and as he turns around comes face to face with someone else. "oh, hey... sorry, almost didn't see you there..." his tone is friendly, which is already NOT common coming from him, but also not too rare considering the circumstances. "...you alright?"

if there's one person he's been eager to see again, it HAS to be harry. he understands, wholeheartedly, the need he had for solitude after everything he'd gone through ( merlin knows if he was in their shoes he'd sought out some space too ) but at the same time it's so good to see him alive and... as good as he can possibly be. "what a pleasant surprise, harry! i wasn't expecting to find you here of all places."

"⸻ it's getting... kinda busy, huh?" the comments comes out mostly without really thinking about it, as he takes a swing of his ale. the influx of clients seems to be increasing as time passes and, of course, viktor seems to be oblivious to the fact that he COULD very well be at least partially the reason why everyone seems so eager to be in this specific stall. "i hope that's a good thing, more business?" and he does actually mean it.
