"That's still in our future, Carina," she promised, her hand squeezing at her wife's with reassurance. "I don't know— I saw Andy and, uh, she doesn't remember me."

"well, i always thought we'd move someday." carina admitted. then again, she didn't think it would be to a place like this. "just, well, not to here. i was thinking a house. with us and kids, maybe at some point."

"That's the problem. You don't remember and I don't know how to fix it."

"i'm pretty sure i'd remember if we were best friends." andy shot back with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm worried, yeah," she let out an exhale of air, moving her hand to ensure that it was grasping Carina's. "This move is big, you know? We've taken a big step here."

"do you think something's the matter?" carina asked, leaning toward maya to rest her hand on her wife's. "or are you just worried?"

"We're best friends. That—that's not something you forget."

"i don't know, you tell me." andy answered as her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. "because i don't know what it is you are on about."

"This city, I think— it's not sitting right with me. I don't know. I haven't gotten much sleep lately."

"well, of course. what's gotten into you, bambina? are you worried about something?"

"It sure as hell feels like you're joking around," she let out a scoff as an arm gestured towards Andy. "Of course, you've— what the hell is going on?"

"i'm not joking around with you?" andy questioned with confusion. why would she be joking around about this? "you're from the other station right? i feel like i saw you before."

"Hi, yes. It's me," she said with a smile, hugging Vic back in a tight embrace. "Are you sure? She's pretty adamant about not knowing who I am."

"maya?" vic looked over at her friend with shock evident on her face, wrapping her arms around the blonde "i'm good, i'm okay. we'll get andy back."

Her own gear was being removed, slowly and by a routine that was engraved into her mind— they did this way too often. “Good to hear,” she responded with an exhales of air, as if trying to catch her breath. “I hope they give us a moment to take a damn breather before the next one. These calls have felt back to back,” she tried to be light with her words, hoping they’d offer some type of comradory.

soren dropped his gear off in the locker room, removing his helmet first and placing it down. he needed a minute after the call. it was a crazy one. "i'm alright." he said with a shake of his head. always one to keep his feelings to himself.

As soon as Andy turned around, Maya's expression fell. It wasn't excitement, but it was confusion. "Yeah," she nodded, brows furrowed together. "I am Maya. Don't joke around with me, Andy. C'mon."

as she heard her name andy turned around. her eyebrows furrowed together as she studied the other's face. "...you're maya, right?" she asked.
