Little Mari Ibarra Headcanons.

Notes; Very self indulgent! Jus’ writing abt myself /silly

– Fussy n bratty as ever! A bit of a mean kid regressor but eases up pretty fast when she finally notices that her playmates r upset n sniffily

– Flip that really prefers regression, caregiving makes her feel like her mamá, not a bad feeling but she just misses her home

– As @butchreg put in a post,, slips into Spanish when she’s super super regressed and excited!! Almost does it unconsciously nd gets bothered when no one understands her. (Side note,, I think Travis does! They have lil talks in spanish back n forth, like secrets no one else understands!)

– Grew up in a big family where everyone had to share everything, gets really possessive over toys n some food sometimes,, Akilah or someone else (I have no set cg for her!!) has to sit her down often to remind her it’s okay!! Has one particular doll no one else is allowed to touch, just to calm her need to have everything !!

– AuDhd,, her attention is everywhere yet somehow focused on her games as well,, LOVESSS playing tag or princess and knights! (Will very reluctantly agree to be a knight if her friends all wanna b princesses,,)

– Is a big kid-ish regressor! 6-10, so a very wide age range,, tries half-heartedly to be a big sibling to the littler girls but her attention drifts easy. (Having a caregiver watching both of them is the easiest option!)

– Actively likes to stick around Gen or Akilah, they don’t have to talk to her she just finds comfort in their presence, especially when feeling small,, could be their shadow tbh!!

– being from a Hispanic family Mari is noooo stranger to touching or being touched,, carries into her regression as well!! A big cuddle bug and big on hugs,, squishing her friends into her arms at the very first sign of excitement is a trademark when small

– Pre-crash when she’s tiny she loved like all the little play food sets n def had a little kitchenette stored away somewhere,, giving her playmates all the fake food she ‘cooks’ nd smiling wiiiide when they pretend to eat it and tell her it’s yummy

– Not very keen on pacis if she drops kinda low,, likes chewlery or teethers! Especially the fruit shaped ones like strawberry or something!! Pacis make her feel like a baby, she doesn’t think she’s a baby!!

– Very venty regression at times, wilderness putting stress and fear on her shoulders even if she acts somewhat carefree— Tears are very common even over the tiniest bit of scolding, reminds her of her Mamá and in turn makes her want to go home even MORE

– Talks about her family in passing often, like they’re right there with her– “My brother used to..” “My Abuela would cook…” so on and so forth!! Doesn’t want to forget her life outside of the wilderness (Tries real hard to be careful around those like Nat, just so she doesn’t upset the poor boy)

– Avid cartoon fan; Cartoon Network,, Nickelodeon,, anything on the tv that was animated? She’s sat very quietly n her whole attention is focused on the screen,, it makes her feel nostalgic, even though she can’t name the feeling

– Lashes out at even the tiniest hint of scolding in a caregiver’s tone sometimes when her emotions feel too big, refusing to let go of her toy or stuffie because she doesn’t want to listen to why she’s gotta give it up. Shakes her head and stomps her feet!!!!!!!

– Covers her ears n does the ‘La-la-La I caaant hear youuu’ thing a lot, frustrating whoever’s looking after her, she does it at times to get a rise out of someone, right next to name-calling (all child appropriate,, but name calling nonetheless!)

Regressor ! Rhonda Rosen & Caregiver ! Wally Clark.

(+ Headcanons because I’m missing them n thinking about them hard tnite and it’s a early birthday treat 4 me)

— Wally is the biggest big brother ever and Rhonda won’t admit it but she really likes it, having grown up in a family that probably didn’t acknowledge her or play with her the way she wanted.

— When she regresses, has a habit of following Wally quietly, peering over his shoulder curiously or taking small pieces of whatever food he borrowed from the cafeteria. He rarely complains and if he does, he’s teasing!

— The very first time Rhonda regressed it was around the holiday season, and still early into when they both died. Wally totally didn’t get it but it didn’t stop him from comforting her, suddenly worried about the pessimistic girl he bickered with when she was sniffly and pouty.

— It ended in an awkward conversation,, Rhonda too embarrassed to bring it up past small words and Wally not totally taking anything seriously for a bit.

They both didn’t get it, still holding onto mindsets they grew up with. Multiple conversations followed with them finally putting an understanding between them, even if her regression remained unnamed.

— Both only truly put a name on regression and caregiver when Maddie died and noticed it, having regressed with Simon while alive. Rhonda is still iffy on the name of ‘regression’ but she’s getting used to it. And by then, Charley had taken on a babysitting role, and he was very amused with taking care of a little Rhonda whenever Wally wanted to go help Maddie with her detective work!

— Rhonda doesn’t have a set age she regresses to, it fluctuates depending on just how the day was, her youngest is 6 and it’s at that age where she really doesn’t want Wally to leave her sight, worried Mr. Manfredo might get hurt her again if he’s not there

— Both absolutely love digging through the living students bags, picking out whatever random objects kids bring to school, snacks or computers and the occasional comfort plushie that Rhonda wastes no time in taking with a shy smile.

— Sharing food and sweets often, Wally keeps the pocket of his sweatpants full of dum-dums taken from the drawers of teacher’s classrooms and Rhonda takes advantage of it often, almost always stealing them to eat for herself. (He totally doesn’t do it just for her,, totally,,)

— Wally throughly enjoys dragging Rhonda out to the football field to play catch, she’ll pretend to hate it but actually looks forward to it sometimes,, he doesn’t always pick football and lets her have her own pick of what games they play! They also bring Charley with them with puppy-dog eyes and bargains!

— Rhonda has gotten closer to Wally and Charley more than she really expected, obviously preferring their company over anyone else- including Maddie at first. They’re the only people that know she regresses and has an understanding as to why as well.

— They both have flashbacks about their scars, some more vivid and scary than others, both try to comfort each other as best they can.

They fall into familiar routines, Wally makes Rhonda tea a lot to aid the phantom feeling of hands around her throat and Rhonda tries hard to get him ice for his knee or neck when the pains kick in.

— Rhonda is a very very very shy little! Her sharp words are dulled down to glares and grumbles or just nothing at all. She gets anxious easier than normal and sometimes just disappears off people’s radars as a whole to play by herself (whenever she wants to be alone, or believes she has to be.)

— Wally is a bit more open and honest and totally not shy about anything to do with regression, you need a toy? He’s probably found some makeshift one a student left here during their detention hours. You want to go play outside? He’s immediately down for it and is ushering you out soooo fast while reminding you about the school’s boundaries around them. (Ex; “Don’t go too far off campus, you’ll disappear on me!”)

— Actually!! Rhonda regresses with Maddie on very rare occasions,, she gets used to the energetic Maddie and sometimes matches the style as well!! Rhonda prefers coloring and Maddie likes imaginary games, often bringing in the drawings as some reallllyyyy important plot point that makes Rhonda giggle everytime.

Lollipop wrappers litter the high school’s hallways,, watching other students as curious hands dig through backpacks and pull out the most interesting books,, watching people run circles over the football field and only joining in when she feels the tiniest and a bit more carefree,,

(MY SHAYLAAA!! This has hints of Big bro Wally n babysitter Charley!! I can’t necessarily get her out of my head n she’s really me coded so,, :D we need more school spirits agere tbh!!!)

I could make a whole post about her tbh,, how her regression affects her and how it’s more involuntary and vent regression rather than anything peaceful or nice,, hrmmm
