león and his staff is ENTIRELY an anakin skywalker and his lightsaber kind of situation : he is always either losing it in battle or getting it broken in some way shape or form .

so , to adapt ( rather than , of course , simply being more careful ) , león will sometimes , given that his magical reserves aren’t at a devastating low , summon a sword made out of ICE rather than hands to hold a staff . 

in which , león finally gets to live out his fantasy of being a TANK .

—- for about five minutes , that is . that kind of magic will absolutely not last long , even for a mage as strong as him .

león in his modern au as a firefighter , lives and works in a largely spanish speaking neighborhood . after extracting someone , if they only speak spanish or not a lot of english he’ll always translate to first responders and nurses to make sure they get the right care .

a  WARNING  to  anyone  i  ship  león  with  :  HE  WILL  NOT  SETTLE  DOWN  PHYSICALLY  .  period  .  by  the  time  inquisition  ends  and  he’s  made  self  improvements  ,  he  will  stay  in  a  long  distance  relationship  with  your  muse  so  long  as  they’re  still  attracted  to  the  man  BEHIND  the  mask  .  however  ,  león  will  continue  to  travel  thedas  whether  or  not  his  partner  deigns  to  join  him  .

LEÓN  VASQUEZ’S  fighting  style  is  exceedingly  unique  ,  in  that  its  CHAOS  comes  from  both  his  volatile  personality  and  the  many  combinations  of  inspiration  from  which  he  draws  tactics  .  part  of  the  reason  that  león  has  EVADED  his  templar  pursuers  over  countless  years  isn’t  so  much  because  he’s  somehow  more  POWERFUL  than  other  apostates  who  have  FAILED  ----  so  much  as  it’s  because  of  his  sheer  unpredictability  .

because  somehow  ,  he  manages  to  fight  both  SMARTER  AND  HARDER  .

on  one  hand  ,  león  has  always  had  a  rather  DIFFICULT  personality  that  shows  severely  in  his  EXPLOSIVE  ATTACKS  .  his  magic  is  fueled  purely  by  EMOTION  .  hazzardous  and  unpredictable  .  DANGEROUS  and  UNRELIABLE  .  his  is  a  power  unrefined  .  unwashed  .  like  the  rawest  form  of  a  gem  . 

on  the  other  ,  while  yes  ,  león’s  magic  is  extremely  VOLATILE  AND  RUTHLESS  on  its  own  ------  he  doesn’t  only  use  magic  .  he  uses  his  BODY  WEIGHT  ,  and  pulls  tactics  from  other  classes  :  THE  BLUNT  FORCE  OF  A  TANK  ,  brutally   bludgeoning  his  staff  against  their  head  ,  knees  ,  stomach  (  knowing  precisely  which  spots  will  bring  an  opponent  to  their  knees  )  .   the  evasiveness  and  flexibility  of  a  rogue  ,  when  he’s  able  to  perfom  high-stakes  and  complex  acrobatic  flips  or  quiets  his  footsteps  by  using  ice  magic  to  slide  and  NIX  the  sound  of  impact  .

LEÓN  DOESN’T  FIGHT  LIKE  A  CIRCLE  MAGE  because  these  aren’t  things  he  learned  in  the  circle  .  they’re  things  he  learned  OUTSIDE  of  it  :  in  darktown  ,  from  smugglers  and  pirates  and  thieves  .

more  importantly  ,  even  ,  is  that  they’re  things  he  learned  by  being  himself  .  an  individual  -----  UNIQUE  from  the  uniform  mold  of  the  chantry  .  A  BOY  RIDING  HIGH  ON  THE  WINGS  OF  FIRE  ,  AND  FREEDOM  .

BUT  ALSO  !! SDJFKASJDF  that  post  has  me  thinking  HARD  about  a  scenario  where  leon  is  either  reuniting  with  tobias  (  his  old  best  friend  )  ,  or  salvadore  (  his  ex  boyfriend  )  thanks  to  the  inquisitor  .

the  idea  that  NEITHER  of  them  would  recognize  him  ,  and  it’s  not  because  of  the  mask  .

the  pain  in  either  of  their  voices  ,  when  they’re  speaking  about  leon  with  the  inquisitor  ,  shaking  their  heads  ,
