Role Play movie screening review

Hiiii - I had the opportunity to screen a new movie(Role Play) coming out on Amazon Prime Video Jan 12th.

Role Play is an action rom-com movie. There is just enough action and mystery in this movie to keep you engaged and interested. Emma - played by Kaley Cuoco is hiding her career as an assassin from her husband Dave - played by David Oyelowo. They have two kids. The night of their 'role play' anniversary gift to each other is where all the fun began!

Emma accidentally runs into a bounty hunter looking to cash in on her at the bar before Dave arrives at the hotel. Emma must play it off and keep Dave clueless about what is happening. And so the games began. The thrills, action and comedy is what keeps you engaged. Emma must now protect herself, Dave and their 2 kids from danger after her cover is blown.

If you are looking for a rom-com, action/thriller movie with a good storyline, then Thomas Vincent(director) Role Play is a good choice. I enjoyed this movie, and had a few giggles and oohs and awws along the way. It's a cute movie with some action, thrills and comedy. Good watch for the weekend!

Role Play (2024)

Streamed this one, and mainly chose it for a relaxed night in after work and because I quite like Kaley Cuoco.

It was a pretty average film, it was kinda like the show Flight Attendant, except in this one Couco is a competent assassin. She has this part of her life hidden from her husband and their kids, until her identity is compromised and it all comes crashing down.

To be honest, the highlight for me was when she travels to Berlin and runs around in my old neighbourhood (Kotti) fighting off people, although those scenes wouldn't have meant much to me had they been anywhere else. Another highlight was Bill Nighy. And the kid playing the daughter, she was pretty cute.

Although the film doesn't do anything new, I still felt like it had some quality to it, I was entertained, I appreciated the costumes and locations, the dialogue felt a little forced at times and the story was quite predictable, but that was what I wanted at the time. I do think there was potential for a better use of the backstory and villain, whose motivation was really weak. It felt a bit like they didn't even try to make us believe it.

So overall, a decent choice when you're not after anything artsy or impressive. I got exactly what I expected of the film, and a little bit more with the location surprise.

Bill Nighy brings some energy and makes things interesting for about ten, fifteen minutes. But once her identity is revealed it feels like the movie is going nowhere. And it's obviously inconceivable that she will kill her husband.

"When did he get here?" Your friend asks, her voice full of irritation.

The music softens, or at least it does to you as your eyes narrow in on your ex. Seishiro is currently talking to his best friend, whose house your at. Of course he'd be here, why your friend assumed he wouldn't be is ridiculous. You don't tell her that though, wanting to keep the situation as cool as possible.

You sip from the straw of your drink, enjoying the cranberry juice before the taste of vodka takes over. "He's usually here," you tell her and she rolls her eyes.

The situation is tense when it comes to Nagi and your friends. You don't think they know you're still sleeping with him, but you're not certain Reo wouldn't tell them either. It's so fun having all your friends in one big group!

"He's coming this way," she nearly spits her words. "I'm not going to be nice."

It's understandable that she hates him, but to this level is a little intense. You push the blame on the alcohol.

"Just don't be cruel. After all, I broke up with him, remember?"

She shakes her head and walks away just as Seishiro approaches. He smiles at you and you can't help but grin.

"Remind me, why you broke up with me?" He asks, leaning forward and placing his hand on the wall beside your head. He's trapping you between him and the wall.

"Oh shit," you close your eyes and shake your head. "I just forgot, maybe Reo could remind me? Shall we go ask him again?"

He frowns, then he rolls his eyes. "I didn't cheat on you."

"You signed a girl's boob, Sei. I never said you cheated. I said you crossed a boundary." You finish your drink and set it on the bar stool that's on the other side of you.

"I didn't realize it would be an issue, it meant nothing."

"Boundaries are big for me," you tell him and he smirks. "Oh, shut up Nagi."

"Oh, so it's Nagi now? No more Sei?" His mouth is against your ear now, his knee slipping between your legs. "Come on, we both know that boundary isn't enough to stop you from going home with me tonight."

Your eyes dart around the room, noticing no one but Reo is watching. He usually is. Whatever, he can watch as you slip your hand down Seishiro's chest and to the waistband of his grey sweats.

You hear him sigh softly at the shell of your ear so you can hear how much you affect him.

"Fuck it, we can use Reo's room." He grabs your waist before he kisses you, his hands squeezing you just enough to drive you mad.

By the time you've stumbled down the hall with Sei, you've forgotten all about Reo watching you two.

"No underwear?" His eyes brighten as he slips your skirt up your thighs, his fingers slowly teasing your cunt.

You shrug. There's no point in pretending you didn't know this would happen tonight.
