❝  i  don’t  hate  you.  ❞  far  be  it  from  sakusa  to  lie,  though  the  comment  takes  a  little  longer  to  form  in  comparison  to  his  usual  quick–witted  remarks  to  atsumu’s  antics;  that,  in  itself,  is  concerning. 

no  unwarranted  sympathy  accompanies,  no  immediate  further  comment,  no  telltale  signs  of  emotion  beyond  that  of  the  usual  sitting  of  his  features.  in  fact,  he  doesn’t  even  look  up  from  the  magazine  in  hand  (  volleyball  monthly,  because  he’s  only  human  ),  and  a  slight  crinkle  of  the  nose  beneath  mask  was  left  to  act  as  the  only  physical  indication  that  he  had  even  heard  him.

stated  like  a  fact,  for  that’s  what  it  was  —  that’s  what  he’s  good  at.

was  it  the  increasing  grasp  on  leather  encapsulated  volleyball,  or  the  glare  that  could  probably  make  a  small  child  (  or  adult,  really  )  cry?  either  way,  to  the  innocent  bystander,  it’s  really  not  all  that  different  from  sakusa’s  oh–so–friendly  usual  demeanour.  family  knows  him  better  than  most,  apparently.  stupid  komori  and  his  ability  to  not  miss  anything.
