well, calling it abandonment was a bit of an exaggeration on my part.

what i meant was this: buggy takes things so personally, i suspect he looks back on the disbanding of the roger pirate crew as the crew turning their backs on him.

i’ll admit, we don’t know for sure how the disbanding went down, after roger and oden left… but rayleigh told the strawhats that “everyone went their separate ways,” and we know that about a year later, shanks and buggy were at roguetown, and rayleigh wasn’t. i think that’s pretty telling.

I really wish I could anon :'> we tried to think of non-spoiler-y lore we could share but turns out every aspect of his character is either a. major spoilers or b. a near-direct echo of canon but make it atla flavoured (ie. his relationships w/ geto/shoko/nanami/haibara; him being The Strongest(tm) in-universe, etc).
