month of ingo, day 27: school
collaborative note taking between rivals during a lecture (ended up derailing severely).
(yes, these are real calculations. pokémon's damage formula is pretty complicated, even without taking into account modifiers such as STAB / tera / weather boosts.)

Instead of doing convention prep, why don't I draw the blorbos instead
This started as me just warming up for working on some OTHER important stuff but uh. Yeah! Someday I'll learn how to draw Emmet's hat consistently but that day is NOT today.
More rambling below the cut:
When Sheyla gets serious about battling, she gets SCARY. She didn't exactly know how to turn off the scary, so trainers were afraid to battle her for a while after she became Champion. She'll take all your money. :P Now she only turns on the scary for big serious battles, or against Team Plasma.
She rarely gets sick, but when she does, it takes her OUT. Or, she probably overworked herself training with Inari again. Training with ghost types that don't have a good grasp on their power is verrrry dangerous. :P
Emmet and Sheyla laughing about something. What? Idk lmao, you tell me.
Sheyla's Sygna Suit with Togekiss! It's a whole-ass Lolita/EGL coord and is absolutely outside of the realm of anything she would wear. She cleans up pretty nice. (it's the nicest thing she will probably ever wear outside of Nimbasa. Even Elesa was surprised.) Emmet thinks it's cute. (*/ω\*)
Lmao, I just love the twins and the whole eye glow thing. Don't fuck around on the subway.
Emmet lost, but the trainer was being a real asshole about it. :P
now off to draw more shippy stuff heheheheheehe~
ALSO. I decided on a ship name I think? Ferroequinology is the study of trains (comes from the words iron and horse, which is sick af), and since Sheyla is a researcher first and Champion, I kinda figured it fit. She does like studying trains, and one of the conductors of said trains. :P

*Echo nods, a determined expression on her face.*
"So how'd you guys meet Elesa?" *She asked, watching the battle with keen eyes.* "No offense, but you don't seem like you'd run in the same scenes nowadays. Childhood friends, or just Public Figures becoming besties via ending up in the same corner at events and stuff?" *She asked, a laugh in her voice.*
The twins suddenly perked up with excitement when the question was asked. Their eyes sparkled and they looked at one another, determining who should start. In the end, Ingo was the first to speak up.
"A wonderful story! Emmet and I lived in Unova our whole lives," Ingo explained with his eyes still sparkling. "Unova is a region many immigrants tend to migrate to in hopes for a better life. Elesa is originally from Kalos!"
"Which is fitting!" Emmet chimed in. "The name 'Kalos' derives from the word kállos. That means 'beauty'! Fitting, isn't it?"
Ingo nodded briskly. "Precisely! It's not our place to share why Elesa traveled to Unova instead of staying in Kalos."
"But boy, was it quite a fateful meeting!" Emmet exclaimed, though not quite as loud as Ingo would have. "Elesa was learning Unovan at the time to prepare for the immigration, but it's a difficult language. We were young at the time- elementary, actually! Our school allowed immigrants to attend. Elesa was struggling verrry much with the new customs!"
"And the language," Ingo added. "We were fluent in Unovan, obviously, but there was a language barrier between us. We read up on the language and taught ourselves enough to communicate. We're far better at it now."
"I am Emmet! This region can be loud! Especially in Nimbasa City. He was noise sensitive. The unfamiliar language certainly didn't help!"
"We attempted to use his language to communicate to him. It was broken and not perfect, but it worked. He didn't have many friends. Unfortunately, people can be cruel..." Ingo sighed and shook his eyes. "People can see immigrants and refuse to even acknowledge them."
"Not us!" Emmet declared. "We helped teach him our language, and learned about his noise sensitivity. We saved up money to get him noise cancelling headphones. It helped!"
"Since then, we became friends. It was rough with the language barrier, and there was another language barrier, too! Emmet was a mute kid," Ingo added. "They didn't talk much. Only on rare occasions. We got around it, of course, and we became the best of friends. We were even there for each other when we got our first Pokemon."
"We were there during good and bad days," Emmet commented, "and every high and low. There were some challenges, like Ingo's loudness causing Elesa to be overwhelmed, but we stuck together. Everything wasn't going to be perfect off the bat."
"We made it perfect! As long as we had each other, we were unstoppable."
"Elesa can tell you more," Emmet added. "Such as his immigration, rise to fame, and all that. For us, we became Subway Masters because of our fascination with trains. We built it from the ground up!"

@wrongtrain
How long had it been? How many months had passed since he abandoned his post in Gear Station? Not like it was something he willingly took, he agreed but his hands we tied. Emmet was going to leave whether he said he'd take over the Subway Boss position or not. There was even a high chance the keys would be sitting on his doorstep when he left his apartment the next day. His kindness and passiveness taken advantage of one last time.
But he caved. Despite his best efforts to convince his boss he wasn't fit for the job, his knowledge of trains and how the subway actually ran from a business perspective and just in general. Of course there were plenty of people that worked alongside Emmet and could take on the technical aspect of things-- He never wanted to stand out or be in change of things, Alex had been happy just coming to work everyday and battling.
That simple and steady lifestyle was ripped out from under him. The massive amount of paperwork that had already been piling up, Even with his help before Emmet ran away in search of Ingo. Everyone's eyes on him. The people who spoke behind Emmet's back now directed to him, despite being relatively well liked before this-- People always needed someone to direct their frustrations to. The forced smiles to passengers became more and more common. Maybe this was why they both threw on such a performative personality at the station--
Dark eyes turned from the side of the volcano to the challenger approaching when he heard footsteps against metal, dragging him from his thoughts. Thankful for the distraction from things he wanted to forget, regrets of running away just like Emmet who he felt betrayed by. No one blamed him for fleeing, right? The only people who even knew where he went were his parents, apologizing over and over to them while on the boat to Orre, he didn't even say good bye to their faces.
His face still somewhat obscured by the Subway Boss hat that had been specifically made for him by Elesa at Emmet's request. Though he wasn't made until several weeks after his boss departed. White, like Emmet's though the usual red-brown band was replaced with a black, Gear station emblem removed, kept safely at home, for some reason he couldn't bring himself to actually toss it. Somewhere deep down hoping that maybe the twins would be reunited and he could be welcomed back and forgiven.
A vile feeling sank to the pit of his stomach when the challenger finally came into clearer view, he couldn't mistake him for anyone else-- Except his brother perhaps but it was him. Why was he here? Why was he in Orre? There was a time long before the former Subway Boss left in search of Ingo he had told him about Celebi residing in Orre, but Celebi wasn't--- His eyes glanced to the Friend Ball attached to his belt, obscured by his long white and black coat, It wasn't supposed to be on Mt. Battle. And it wasn't like they were near the bottom, it took not just skill but time to make it up here.
Alex wanted to scream, He wanted to run up to his previous employer and hit him as hard as he could, but feet didn't move from the far side of the large red 77. Instead he just reached for two pokeballs, pressing the buttons on the front and having them enlarge in his shaky hand. He wasn't one for physical violence but he was going to hit him with everything he had, Make him feel every bit of frustration he had being left all alone. Sleepless nights full of stress and confusion. Weeks where he didn't even leave the station, opting to just sleep at the desk or office sofa. All of his effort, all of the work he was putting in, and what he thought was allowing Emmet to find Ingo-- He was off playing! Taking an extended vacation.
"Congratulations on making it this far, but your tracks will be ending here I'm sorry to say! Now, Begin!"
He shouted from across the platform, his phrasing still remaining from his time as a Subway Boss. The pokeballs thrown into the air releasing Meganium and Volcarona.

PLA/Submas Fic Electric Trains are the Future Chapter 17: A Two Car Train
Previous Chapter (16) - Current Chapter - Next Chapter I... Was going to have this out last week but didn't realize that my commissioned art was ready. But now we're here with the long awaited reunion! There is art in this chapter, drawn by the wonderful @alubearsworld! Currently working on Chapter 18 and a half dozen side projects, as well as possible stuff for Novembmas. For now, enjoy the chapter! Chapter Summary: Ingo wakes up and reconnects. Chapter Word Count: 4702 Chapter Note: There is a panic attack at the beginning, between two different dream sequences.
As always, read it below or over on AO3 with additional notes! Reblogs and comments are always enjoyed, but never feel pressured.
“Do you think that if I jump from here, I’ll clear the third rail?”
Ingo’s eyes refuse to open as Emmet asks his question, so he instead opts to give a verbal response. “We’re not like Uncle, Emmet, so I don’t think either of us could actually clear that leap.” He tries to lift his arm to gesture for emphasis, but his arm wouldn’t lift. Odd. “Even with rubber boots and a resistance built up by Fluffy and Tiny, you’d be fried.”
“Sigh. I am Emmet, and you are right. Let me go get a ramp.”
“Thank you for thinking of safety,” Ingo says, trying not to sound too smug as he hears Emmet walk away. “Oh, and can you grab food on the way back?
“Burger Kingler, got it. I’ll be back in a minute.”
It’s been nearly a day now, and Ingo has heard nothing from Emmet. He still cannot open his eyes, he still cannot move his arm. No matter what he does, he can’t get any movement, and he’s trapped here. Blind to it all.
He hears voices nearby. Elesa. Laventon? Maybe they know where Emmet has gone. If only he could get their attention, he needs to know what happened to his brother, and why he hasn’t returned yet. As Laventon’s voice gets further away, Elesa’s gets closer, and Ingo gathers together his strength to open his eyes and move.
“Emmet. Emmet, where is he?” He says, too fast and low to be properly heard as he latches onto Elesa’s hand, causing her to startle. “He said he was here, where is he?” He tugs her hand closer to his chest, squeezing it tight. “I heard him. Emmet’s here, where did he go?” His grip loosens and he starts looking around the room frantically. This isn’t the Subway. “He said he would be right back, and he hasn’t returned yet.”
This isn’t the Subway. Emmet is lost. I have to find him! Ingo lets go of Elesa’s hand and tries to move his legs off of the bed to stand, when Elesa grabs him by the waist and then pushes him down by the chest, avoiding the broken ribs. “No you don’t, you trainiac!” Heh. Trainiac. Good one.
“Emmet’s not here, Ingo.” No. No no no. Fear begins to take over Ingo’s mind as he tries to push against his girlfriend, to escape this bed, to escape the Medical Wing and find the Subway. And Elesa, to her credit, keeps him in place as she puts almost her entire weight on his chest. “Listen!” He can almost hear the worry in her voice. Why isn’t she worried about Emmet?! “Emmet’s not here, but it’s ok. You’re safe, we’re taking care of you.”
“Stop lying to me!” Ingo could feel the tears begin to form in his eyes, but with how Elesa was not caring about the situation, it was all that he could do to hold them back. “I know he’s here! He told me that he was going to grab a bite to eat and he would be right back.” Ingo’s breath catches as the tears begin falling down his cheeks. “Where is he, Elesa?”
As he begins to sob, Elesa pulls him into her for a hug, his head cradled against her neck. She was ice cold, like a ghost, pulling the heat from him like a ravenous fire-type. She holds him there for several moments, rubbing his back as he cries into her, his own arm wrapping around her the best it can. Finally, he pushes away from the hug, and looks at her with tear-filled eyes. “When will he be back?”
Elesa herself looks like she is about to break into tears, and gently places a hand on his cheek. “I don’t know, Ingy. But I’ll wake you up when I find out, ok?” It takes a moment for Ingo to process the words before he nods and leans back, wincing at the pain of his shoulder. Oh right, I broke that. “Get some rest. I’ll talk to Pesselle about getting you some medicine.”
Ingo simply nods again, his eyes already closing from the exhaustion of his outburst. As he drifts off, he tries to ignore the sound of Elesa quietly sobbing.
“Come on Ingo, it’s not that bad!” Emmet says as he slides down the slope of Twist Mountain. “Uncle Clay says they haven’t started mining!” Ingo hesitates as he watches his younger twin descend towards the center of the mountain’s pit, the dust and gravel being kicked up behind him and staining his white t-shirt and shorts.
Since starting their Pokémon journey through the Gyms, the two had separated on their paths from Elesa, who went south as they went north. And as such, the person holding Emmet’s impulse control was currently in Nacrene, while Ingo was stuck wanting to join his brother… but terrified of the height. “Surely there is a simpler way, Emmet!” Ingo’s voice easily carries down the pit to his brother, who simply laughs as he makes it to the bottom and turns to wave at him. “That is quite the distance, I think I’ll find another way down!”
Down below, Emmet cups his hands to his mouth, managing to get just enough projection to be audible from Ingo’s position. “Scaredy Skit!” Though Ingo couldn’t see it, he was sure that Emmet was smiling like an Electrode. “There’s stairs across the pit! You might make it before I finish talking to Clay!”
Ingo squares his jaw and snorts, his frown deepening as he approaches the edge of the walkway. Looking down, the actual slope was clear, though it was a long 40 foot trip to take, with maybe a 75° angle? Not the smartest safety check from his brother, but he made the journey without derailing, so there is some merit to the tracks.
He just has to avoid the hole behind Emmet, which should be easy, considering he stopped with almost 5 feet to spare.
With a deep breath, Ingo steps to the edge of the walkway and steps off, letting gravity take him down. He crouches low, holding an arm behind him as he leans back to help balance on the descent. While the pit walls are clear of major debris, that doesn’t mean that they are sheer or completely clean, as Ingo can feel small rocks or bumps under his feet threatening to throw him off the tracks. But he was rapidly approaching Emmet, who… Wasn’t moving from his cheering spot, directly in Ingo’s path.
“MIND THE RAILS!” Ingo shouts, startling not only Emmet, but Clay as the latter leaves his office across the hole, who nearly leaps from his boots. But even with the warning, Emmet can only frantically look around for a place to move to before the inevitable high speed collision.
“Danger!” Emmet shouts as Ingo barrels into his legs.
Ingo wakes up much softer than he had expected, softly coming to a stop in the station rather than the hard brake the last few times he had awoken. His eyes still closed, he gently reaches his right hand out and finds Elesa’s hand, squeezing it and sighing. He could also feel someone laid on his other side, an arm laying across his stomach – Likely Akari, though he’s never known the girl to wear a hat, especially while she was asleep.
It takes a few more minutes of relaxing there, idly running a thumb over the back of Elesa’s hand, for Ingo to turn his head and open his eyes. As expected, Elesa was leaning over to her left in her chair, her left hand having just been resting on his bed while she slept sitting up. Ingo squints his eyes and laughs as soft as he can, to both not wake her, but also not aggravate what he could feel was perhaps a floating rib from the fall. Looking past her, he notes that the sun has begun to rise. Early morning, then.
He starts to scan across the room, more on instinct from the last few years than anything, and stops when he sees a young Trainer that he has never seen before curled up in a chair in the corner of the room, a Decidueye, a proper Alolan Decidueye unlike Akari’s Lekki, perched up on top of the chair. At first Ingo thought the Decidueye was asleep like its Trainer, but after a moment, it raised its head and stared back at Ingo with yellow eyes. Ingo slowly raises his left hand and waves at it, and the Decidueye shakes itself, and begins to preen the feathers under its wings, apparently deeming him uninteresting. Ingo had to disagree, but unfortunately, his cab was in no condition to go inspect the Pokemon up close.
With a huff, Ingo shakes his head and looks over to Akari to ruffle her ha-
Emmet?
The hand that was going to gently ruffle hair instead shoves Emmet’s hat to the side and roughly pushes his twin’s head around. “Emmet!” Ingo hisses, keeping his voice low through his teeth. “Emmet, wake up!”
Emmet groans, the arm that was draped across Ingo raising and moving slightly, gently slapping against the blanket a few times before landing on Ingo’s and Elesa’s hands. “5 more minutes, brother. I am verrrry tired…” As Emmet buries his face deeper into Ingo’s side, Ingo does not take that for an answer and jostles his twin’s head even more.
“Wake up, Emmet,” Ingo says, his voice slow and deliberate. “Wake up, or I’m telling Mother you overfed Skrunchie the day we had to take her to the vet.”
The reaction was admittedly faster than Ingo had intended, with Emmet only lying there for a few seconds before shooting up straight in his seat and pointing at him with bleary eyes. “I didn’t overfeed her on purpose! You gave her too many treats and didn’t tell me!”
The silence hangs for a brief moment as Ingo frowns at Emmet like a Skitty trying to not show the feathers in its mouth and Emmet staring at him like a Hoothoot at the midday sun. After a moment, though, Emmet breaks into manic motion as he first points at Ingo with a wide open mouth, then flailing wildly before grabbing his hat and slapping it against the bed a few times,, then finally leaning against his brother and giving him a very gentle hug. “I am Emmet, and I forgive you for bringing up Skrunchie, because you are Ingo and you are here!”
Tumblr media
Ingo laughs, and pulls his good arm out from under his brother to hug him back. “We, Ingo and Emmet, are a two-car train,” Ingo says softly into his brother’s hat, his own eyes screwed shut as he feels his brother begin to softly sob into his chest, tears beginning to form in his own eyes. “I did not mean to uncouple our cars, Emmet, and I am so glad you were able to find me. Are you ok? You sound ragged.”
“You won’t like the answer. Not at all,” Emmet says with a laugh, finally pulling away with misty eyes. “I am Emmet, and I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in 3 months!”
“No, I don’t like that answer at all!” Ingo shouts, causing the Decidueye in the corner to angrily flap its wings and Elesa to stir in her chair. “You should be in bed, asleep! Actually asleep, and not just passing out on me like in middle school!” Ingo gently pushes himself up, laughing under his breath as he nods over at the other bed. “It’s not too late in the morning, go lay down and sleep.”
“I am Emmet, and I am staying up now,” his brother says as he sits back up in his chair, raising his arms above his head and popping his back. “Besides, we got here around midnight, so I got some sleep, yup.” Despite that, Emmet yawns as he reaches down to pick up his hat, and tosses it over onto Elesa’s head, jolting her awake.
“Skitters, get out of the candy, it’s mine!” Elesa flails for a moment, causing the hat to fall down her face as the Decidueye glares at her, its trainer still sleeping (un)comfortably in their chair. After a moment, she is able to refocus, and sees Ingo looking at her with a barely contained frown, and leaps up from her chair. “You’re finally awake, Deerling!” She quickly and gently fills the void Emmet had just left on Ingo’s bed, wrapping her arms around him and putting her face against his chest.
“I am!” Ingo says, planting a kiss on the top of Elesa’s head. “And I woke up to quite a surprise.”
“I am Emmet,” Emmet says smugly, nodding as he instinctively reaches out for some non-existent coffee, sighing when he grabs the empty air. “I miss coffee, though. Even while traveling, I at least had that routine.”
“Well, the stuff Zisu has isn’t the best, but it’s coffee,” Ingo says, looking back to his brother as he begins stroking Elesa’s head as she begins to doze back off. “Though I could kill for some Third Rail Coffee, I’ve come to miss that since Elesa returned.”
“I am Emmet, and I have bad news, brother,” Emmet says, sighing heavily as he leans forward. “They closed the one on our route to the station. Now only the one in Blueberry Academy Nimbasa is open.” Ingo stops stroking Elesa’s hair and stares at Emmet with a wide mouth, causing Emmet to chuckle morosely. “Yup! It has ruined my commute and I cry daily.”
“Now he goes to Staryubucks, like a plebeian,” Elesa sleepily says, staying snuggled to Ingo’s chest. “And he complains about how sweet it is.”
“I am Emmet, and their coffee sucks!” Emmet cries out, throwing his hands into the air in unison with the main door of the building slamming shut. “They’re the only ones open at 5am on my early days, which is every day now! And they have bad bagels! Frozen, and then thrown in a microwave to pretend to be hot!”
The door to the medical bay opens as Akari backs into the room with several plates of potato mochi, picking up on the conversation. “Wait, are you all talking about St. Marc’s? Cause their ChocoCros kinda su-” She stops when she notices Ingo sitting up, politely waving at her, and her eyes immediately widen and fill with tears. “Uncle Ingo!!”
The Decidueye trills loudly (How the young trainer hasn’t woken up, Ingo is unsure) as Akari drops the plates onto the table and rushes Ingo’s bed. Elesa, unfortunately, doesn’t move in time and is whacked by the teenager as she throws her arms around Ingo. “Foul!” Elesa whines, sitting up reluctantly. “10 yard penalty, Akari.”
“I brought you food, foul overturned,” Akari quickly says, holding onto Ingo tight, a few inches below the broken ribs thankfully. As Ingo begins to pat her on the back, he can feel her shaking slightly as she holds back tears. “I’m sorry, Uncle… It’s all my fault we went up there.”
“Not necessarily,” Ingo says quietly, his voice only filling their half of the room rather than the entirety. “I could’ve told you no, but I trusted you, because you’ve given me every reason to trust you.”
“But I knew where to go!” She counters into his stomach. “And I could’ve just gone to Arceus and He would’ve been able to get us home!”
“After you did a test, right?” Ingo says sternly. “And you might have been taken home right then. Would that have been the track you desired?” He feels her shake her head, and pats the back of her head. “I didn’t think so.”
The conversation halted, though, as Pesselle cleared her throat for the doorway of the Medical Hall. “I’m glad you’re awake, Ingo! Mayhaps we can work on redressing your wounds soon?”
Ingo clears his throat, and looks over at Elesa. “Perhaps you and Akari can go grab some coffee for yourselves and Emmet? I’m sure Zisu wouldn’t mind sharing?” To his credit, when both of them gave him glares, he didn’t flinch at all. “Emmet hasn’t seen me in years, he can stay.”
“Yes! I am Emmet, and I get to stay. And watch my brother’s bandages get chan-” Emmet’s smug smile falters for a second, quickly looking at the bit of dried blood on the bandages on Ingo’s head. “Bandages get changed. With wounds underneath. Elesa, can I come with?”
Elesa snickers as she rounds the bed, and kisses Emmet’s forehead. “No dice, Dar-klink. You make sure he’s good to Miss. Pesselle, and I’ll get Elio some coffee so they don’t complain. Deal?” Emmet sighs and nods, and Elesa lifts his chin up to give him a proper kiss. “I’ll bring you some honey as well. Love you.”
“Love you too, Ellie,” Emmet says with a soft smile as the two girls leave. With a sigh, he looks back at Ingo, noticeably looking at his nose as Pesselle begins unwrapping the bandages around Ingo’s forehead. “What did we ever do to deserve her?”
“Make her classrooms more interesting?” Ingo says with a quirk of his lips. “The both of us always goofing off or having seemingly inane conversations helped keep her awake for class.”  He winces slightly as Pesselle begins cleaning the wound on his forehead.
Emmet chuckles softly, then picks Ingo’s hat up from the table behind him. “Here, let me introduce you to Elio.” He holds the hat by the brim, lines up the shot, and tosses it like a Frisbee at Elio’s head, like he had with Elesa a little bit before. And with an unerring aim, the hat lands directly on the young teen’s face, getting a delayed reaction from them as they shake their head and then jolt up, disturbing the Decidueye above them.
“Auē!” Ingo has to suppress a chuckle as Elio flails briefly in their chair while Pesselle reaches across him and swats at Emmet. “Uncle Emmet, what was that for?!” The Decidueye above them leaps from the top of their chair, flapping once to keep in the air before landing next to Emmet, giving him a dead, yet pointed, glare.
“I am Emmet. Ingo wanted to meet you,” Emmet says without a hint of remorse as he reaches over to gently stroke the Decidueye’s cowl. “Besides, Sorel was mother henning you. That perch wasn’t good for him.”
“You also have coffee coming your way,” Ingo says as he leans forward to let Pesselle undo the sling around his shoulder. His eyes crinkle slightly as sparks enter Elio’s eyes at the prospect of coffee. “But nice to meet you, young Elio.”
“Hold up, let me help you!” Elio says really quickly, leaping from their chair and dashing to Pesselle’s side. “If I’m gonna chat with Uncle’s brother, then I should probably help.”
As Elio reaches for Ingo’s arm, however, they are held back by Pesselle. “I can handle this, child. I think the best way for you to help would be to keep Ingo awake.”
Elio blinks for a moment, before a smile hits their face and they nod enthusiastically. “Of course!”
As Elio resituates themself onto the foot of the bed, Ingo nods and gives them a point. “I am the Highlands Warden, Ingo. And who am I having the pleasure of speaking to?”
Elio’s smile widens, and they slap a hand against their chest. “I’m Elio Nozawa, the first Champion of the Alola League!” As they proclaim this, their Decidueye trots around the bed and gives a squawk as it leans past its trainer. “And this is my trusted partner, Sorel!”
“The first Champion, at such a young age?” Ingo says in shock as he looks over to Emmet, who’s nod is mirrored in the teen. “Bravo!” Ingo nearly shouts as he turns back towards the trainer, then winces a little at the pain from his ribs. “Yes, yes, I know I overdid it,” he says, raising his good hand to hold off the scolding from Pesselle.
Elio and Emmet share a laugh at Ingo’s expense before the teenager picks back up. “You have almost as much energy as Uncle Professor,” Elio wheezes out between their laughter. “He was so excited when I whooped him at Lanakila!” They throw their hands into the air and lean back before putting on an exaggerated tone. “‘Woooo! You did it kid! You’re the first Champion, woooo!’”
Now it was Ingo and Pesselle’s turn to laugh, both trying to hold it in as the doctor worked on cleaning the wounds on Ingo’s back. “Sounds like a shoe-in for the Security Corp, knowing Zisu,” Pesselle says, her smile widening.
“Assuredly,” Ingo responds, his hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter. As the four of them calm their laughter down, Ingo sighs and looks over at Emmet. “So, now that you’re here, what is the plan?”
Emmet hums slightly as he brings his hand up and taps his chin in thought. “Well, we don’t plan on staying. I am Emmet. I am a Subway Boss, and there are no trains here.” Both brothers chuckle in unison before Emmet shakes his head. “I came to get Elesa. Cynthia came for Hi- for Akari.”
“And me?” Ingo asks out of curiosity, quirking an eyebrow.
Emmet purses his lips for a moment and sighs. “It’s up to you. We… We had begun moving on.” He presses his hand up against his mouth  for a moment before continuing. “If you chose to stay behind, that’s fine. But… I am Emmet. I want you home. Mom wants you home.”
“And I want to go home, if I’m able,” Ingo says softly, looking away from Emmet out the window as Pesselle goes to throw away the only bandages. “I would desperately miss my life here, but…” He sighs heavily before leaning back against his pillow. “Ever since Elesa arrived, I’ve been wanting to return home more than ever. Before, it was a longing for an unknown, and now…”
“Now it’s staring you in the face?” Elio says as Ingo drops off, causing the older trainer to nod silently. “I guess I get that,” they continue as they reach over and stroke Sorel’s cowl as the Pokemon stands vigil at the end of Ingo’s bed. “When my friend Lillie left for Kanto after my League Championship, it was terrifying for my friend Hau. He was so sure that she would be in danger in a place so different from Alola.”
Elio coaxes their Decidueye to the side of the bed and begins pruning it as they continue to speak. “But then Lillie called us on our Rotom Phones, and we saw that she was perfectly fine.” They smile, and look up at Ingo. “When it’s all in your head, it feels fake and surreal. But when it’s in your face, you see it for what it is, and it changes what you feel.” Elio finishes up on Sorel’s hood before letting it wander back to its place. “Of course, Hau still went to Kanto on the next boat. He told me just before I left for Unova that they were camping out by Cerulean.”
Emmet was beaming at the young Trainer, and Ingo’s eyes were closed in contentment as Elio talks. After Elio becomes absorbed in their own story and Ingo finds the chance, he beckons his brother over to continue their conversation. “I want to go home, but I can’t just disappear without warning. I need to speak to Lady Irida.”
“The girl in pink?” Emmet asks, holding his hands above his head in an approximation of Irida’s head piece. Ingo nods, and Emmet nods in response. “Yup! I met her this morning. She had to go back to the Settlement. Starly came in with a message for her about a Sneasel.”
“Sneasel?” Ingo asks, his brows furrowing into a true frown for a moment. “I hope nothing is wrong with Sneasler. My Lady just had a litter several months ago, so I doubt she would be having another so soon.” Before he could continue the thought, Ingo has to pause and let out a loud and drawn out yawn.
“Looks like my big brother won’t be getting coffee,” Emmet snickers as he leans back into his chair. “Yup! He’ll have to miss out.”
“He wouldn't be able to have any stimulants anyway,” Pesselle says as she comes back into the room. “I have him on a few medications right now, and I don’t want them diluted by coffee.”
“The curse of injuries,” Emmet muses with a shrug and a shake of his head. “Guess I’ll just have to enjoy it for you, yup!”
“You don’t like Arabica,” Ingo shoots back with a glare. “You always want Robusta. So suffer, Emmet.” As Emmet’s face falls into a look of abject fear, Ingo’s own curls into a mischievous frown, his eyes crinkling almost shut.
“It’s still coffee,” Elio says innocently as they look between the twins before standing up from Ingo’s bed. As both twins turn to fix them with a glare, though, the Trainer quickly throws their hands up and backs away. “But I guess it matters! I guess it matters.”
“It does, yup!” Emmet says as he shakes his head and gets up to retrieve his hat that was still by Elio’s chair. “And I guess I’ll have to deal with it. Arabica was always Ingo and Volo’s deal.” As Emmet swats his hat to get the dirt from the floor off of there, he turns to face Ingo and pauses, seeing the glare that his twin had. “I am Emmet. Did I say something wrong?”
“I don’t remember a Volo in Nimbasa before I left,” Ingo says softly, a slow burning anger beginning to form behind his eyes. “And the only Volo I know attempted to kill our niece on top of a mountain.”
“The only one I know regrets that,” Emmet starts, putting his hat back on with a huff. “He made a promise.”
“I don’t care if he made a promise, Emmet,” Ingo says, his tone getting sharper. “That man tried to kill our niece. If you think I’m going to be ok with him being he-”
“Giratina threatened to eat him,” Emmet shoots back, his eyes briefly leaving Ingo’s to shoot a glare at Elio to stop them from correcting him, then back at Ingo. “I broke his nose. I think.” He swivels his head towards Elio in full, tilting slightly in confusion. “I am Emmet. Did I break Volo’s nose?”
Elio stands there for a second, their head swiveling between the two twins who both held very intense expressions respectively. After a moment, Elio swallows and speaks up, “If I say yes, will that calm you both, Uncle?”
“I am the Warden Boss Ingo,” Ingo interjects before Emmet can jump in, “and I say no. That man shouldn’t be here. In fact!” With a small grunt, Ingo moves to the side of the bed and tries to swing his legs off, only for Pesselle to grab his leg and push it back onto the bed, giving him a silent, threatening glare.
As Ingo crosses his arms and hmphs in annoyance, Emmet puts a hand over his mouth to hide his giggle before his brother could see it. “I think that may be a good place to end this. You are getting feisty, yup!”
Ingo whips his head back toward Emmet, about to shoot something back before being cut off by Rei entering from Cyllene’s room. “Hey, the Commander wants to talk to the travelers upstairs,” he says quickly, looking at Emmet and then Elio. “Elesa and Akari took the coffee upstairs already, and Cynthia and Volo are waiting there.”
It took all of Ingo’s willpower, bolstered by Pesselle’s fiery gaze, to stay in place. Coughing into his fist, he says “I believe I’m going to sleep.” He pauses for a moment, then looks up at Emmet with a crinkle at the corner of his eyes. “And I’ll see you later, little brother.”

I love the Nimbasa City Trio so much
They all just love hanging out with each other on their times off. Taking turns talking about their special interests for hours. Talking pokemon, battles, and work stuff. Sundays are brunch days and on occasion theme park/musical days.
Elesa brings the Twins as her plus one to every occasion she goes too. Not one ever tried to stop her. One time someone rudely questioned her on bringing these two instead of someone more favorable. Which she replied " They make these kind of things more bearable. Besides they are much better company then someone like you anyway." They didn't stay very long at that party. Most the parties she is invited to are way too loud anyway, which is why she wears headphones and having Ingo and Emmet there make her less anxious. They went out to a quiet dinner afterwards.
The twins always have a wonderful time during her modeling shoots though. They try to help where they can and often get asked to join the photo shoot which they usually decline but they are great moral support. One time Emmet volunteered to step in for one of the male models but kept making funny faces much to the annoyance of the camera crew, but Elesa and Ingo thought it was hilarious.
They often invite her to their train conventions and she has a blast each time. The horrible train puns always have her in stitches and she cracks a few herself which gets a great reaction from the twins. It gives her a couple ideas for a photo shoot too which she begs them to be a part of.
Emmet: I would love to be in a photo shoot again. Me and Ingo can dress as trains.
Ingo: That would certainly bring a lively flare to the photo! What do you say Elesa we'll be the Best Trains in your Photo!! Two locomotives blazing through the tracks with you as the shining conductor!!!
Elesa: * writing all this down* oh my God you both are geniuses.
They are all just such good friends and love each other so much okay?

So I finally got around and started to play Legend Arceus and it made me very curious about the Submas twins predicament. So instead of just Ingo going missing, it was also Emmet’s S/o as they also got transported with Ingo to the Hisui region. How do you think he would cope with that notion? Would he feel reassured that his brother isn’t entirely alone or would that elevate his stress even further?
played this while writing this idk if it fits
cw: angst, mentions of alcoholism, over all a bit depressing
`
`
○ Emmet is extremely stressed; he lost two of his most important people in one day. Did they run off and elope with one another? If so, then why? The younger twin valued himself an attentive and caring lover. Your needs were met with a big smile and unyielding devotion. He spends the entire first night and following day bawling his eyes out. What did Ingo have that he didn't? They were quite literally identical physically, and, while they had their own various quirks, Emmet would say they were overall similar. Did you crave the domesticity that Ingo so sought after? He could provide that! Why would you both hurt him so mercilessly?
○ It is after giving it proper, unclouded thought he realizes neither of you would actually do such a thing to him. Where had you gone? Were you kidnapped? Emmet hoped your captors were ready for the storm of pure fury that would come knocking at their door. The police do thorough searches multiple times and come up with nothing that would imply such, however. This crushes Emmet's heart once more. That meant you likely both left of your own accord without telling him.
○ The downtrodden Subway Boss wanders around Nimbasa in a fugue like state asking anyone who will listen if they have seen either of you. No one knows anything. He turns to alcohol shamefully, attempting to forget how broken his heart truly is. Pictures of you hurt; pictures of himself hurt, too. Ingo has his face, he can't escape his pain when a mirror mocks him viciously. Elesa cringes whenever she sees the man wander up to the station with disheveled clothing and Ingo's coat on.
○ Her intervention is not appreciated by the horribly depressed Subway Boss. Unless she can conjure up you and his brother, he doesn't even want to think about speaking. Honestly, when he finally snaps and says something smart to her, completely out of his own character, she slaps him. That sudden explosion of pain snapped the daze that had possessed him away temporarily. The gym leader goes off about how he isn't the only one who's hurt by your disappearances. Not once has she doubted you both were whisked away free from your own volition. Ingo wasn't like that, neither were you.
○ He begins to work on himself. The poor fans who resembled you he had one-night stands with desperate for any sense of you, are deep moments of shame within him. Emmet turns your pictures around, alongside Ingo's, and sighs. Wherever fate had taken you, at least you had one another. Surely, the both of you were working to get back to him as much as he was. His cap is put on, and a small smile found itself back to his face. Not as big as his previous, but a decent start. It's a slow process to let it go. There are still many relapses present in his movements to getting better.
○ Seasons change; snow melts, flowers bloom, the sun scorches the earth. Emmet devotes himself fully to his work, but still spends time searching for you two. People go rejected in romantic advances, his smile terrifying paired with his words of devotion. Elesa says he should start seeking a new partner, but the twin remains steady in his will. You're out there in the world with Ingo. One day, he's certain you will both return.
(When you two fall out of the sky directly in front of the Gear Station, he bursts into joyful tears. You're both pulled into a tight hug, but he's forced off by Ingo who is glaring at him. “Dear, I fear there is an imposter attempting to appear as me,” his brother's hand grasps at yours in a romantic, reassuring gesture. You lean into his embrace fearfully. The tears change from elation to mortification.)

Nimbasa City Warden - Part 3
The brothers had fallen asleep on the couch after talking and catching up for hours. It wasn’t until sunlight came into the window and shone on Emmet’s face that he opened his eyes and gasped, “I’m late for work.” he sat up, then groaned, grabbing his head and slowly leaning back.
Ingo took a deep breath, “You’re not going to work.” he mumbled.
“Yep…” Emmet dug in his pocket for his phone and checked the notifications, he exhaled and hissed a string of swears. He slowly stood and dialed back the missed call, walking into the other room for a moment, “Yes, sorry- I overslept, I was catching up with my brother last night. Y-yes, w- wait, what video?”
Ingo had picked himself up off the couch and made his way to the kitchen, now he was home he had access to coffee again and he was looking forward to it. He blinked as he stared at the coffee maker. What happened to the old one? Wait- it’s been five years and that other one was old enough… he started preparing a pot of coffee.
“Ingo, you’re all over the internet.” Emmet said, walking into the room and watching his phone. “Oh- and Elesa’s coming over.” he sat down.
Ingo squinted at the wall, “Intern- why?” he asked.
Emmet shrugged, “Word got out that you took out that bouffalant yourself.” he said.
“Speaking of, how’s your head?”
“I need to take that prescription from the urgent care to the pharmacy.” Emmet said, “It’s just pain killers.”
“Right.” Ingo sat down, the scent of coffee soon filling the air and giving Ingo goosebumps. “But that doesn’t tell me how you’re feeling.”
“I haven’t had a headache this bad in three years.” Emmet mumbled, scrolling through his phone.
“What happened three years ago?” Ingo asked.
“Uh… there was a fire on one of the trains.” Emmet answered, “Some kids were having a battle on a passenger train and had their pokemon use overheat… next to the engine.” He explained, “The train had to come to an emergency stop and everyone had to evacuate. I had to try and pull the conductor I had on that train to safety because he’d already collapsed. We’re okay, though.” Emmet gestured to himself, “Obviously. Unfortunately, a handful of the passengers in the front car wound up with some burns. The charges were… almost staggering.” he said, “But, the kids and their parents were held responsible since they weren’t on a designated battle train.”
Ingo thought for a while, “I had a fire about three years ago, too.” he said, “I think it was a wild shinx or a rotom that started it, but it caught fire to one of the dead trees on Mount Coronet. Another warden and I had gone to try and direct some of the pokemon away but there were some newborn sneasel that were hiding under a log. I uh… I collapsed before I was able to get them out to safety, too.” He said, “Uh, Lady Sneasler managed to pull us out, however.”
Emmet had set his phone down to listen to Ingo, “I guess even across time and space we’re still synchronized.” he smiled.
Ingo returned the smile faintly, “Guess so.” he glanced up to check the coffee pot. “Coffee?”
Emmet shook his head, “No, I kind of want to go back to sleep. I’m pretty stiff from the couch.”
Ingo stood and stretched, “I thought it was comfortable.” he watched Emmet scroll through his phone. "You alright?"
"Oh- Elesa was right." Emmet said, "Everyone's talking about your stunt with the bouffalant." He said, "But if you can fight Arceus and win, I suppose there isn't much you can't do."
Ingo nodded in agreement, then furrowed his eyebrows, "Emmet… I think it best we keep this Arceus business between us." he turned to start pouring himself his coffee.
Emmet paused, then nodded, "I… guess that would complicate things. Or… people would make a bigger deal of it than we'd want. Eventually if there's something plaguing Unova, the Elite Four would call you to handle it instead of taking care of it themselves… basically making you do their jobs."
"And to be clear, I didn't fight Arceus alone and I was knocked down more than once. And again- I never touched that bouffalant."
“That’s not what these people are saying. They’re saying that you used wrestling moves on it and even tossed it.”
Ingo rolled his eyes, “Well, let people believe what they want.”
“Oh no.”
“What?”
“People are messaging me now…” Emmet scrolled through his inbox. He turned off the screen and set his phone face-down and rubbed the back of his head, still sensitive from being thrown at a wall last night.
“Do you want me to go to the pharmacy in your place?” Ingo asked.
“And let you out of my sight? No. We’ll either go together or we’ll send Elesa.” Emmet said, “Last time we were separated, you got sucked into a wormhole and i didn’t see you for five years.”
“Last time we were separated, you were at an urgent care.”
“Okay- last time we were separated under the same roof.”
“We were both working that day.” Ingo argued.
“I can’t risk losing you again…” Emmet snapped, then he exhaled, “I’m sorry…” he sighed. “Even though I knew you were waiting in the lobby for me, I couldn’t help but to feel anxious that I was going to walk out and you weren’t there.” he said.
Ingo sat back down at the table, setting his coffee down, “I’m not going anywhere.” he said. “I’ll stay right here with you. Okay?”
Emmet nodded, his eyes watering, “Thank you.” He sniffled and wiped his eye, then looked up as someone knocked on the door, “Besides…” he stood up, wincing at his headache.
“I’ll get it.”
Emmet nodded and sat back down, “You’re not going anywhere until you shower and get that thing off your chin.”
Ingo self-consciously covered his goatee, turning red, “Yes, probably best.” he turned and approached the door. He checked the peephole before opening the door, “Elesa.” he greeted.
“Ingo!” she stepped forward and hugged him, then she stepped back, “Oh, I’m really sorry, but you smell really bad.”
Ingo stepped back and turned red again, “Y-yes, I uh… haven’t had the chance to shower yet…”
“Why don’t you do that and shave real quick?” Emmet called from the other room, then groaned.
“How is he doing?” Elesa asked.
“Uh, he said this is the worst headache he’s had since the fire.” Ingo answered.
“Oh… you know about the fire?” she asked, wincing.
Ingo nodded, “I had one too about the same time… uh- relatively.”
Elesa shook her head, “Where were you?” she asked.
Ingo took a deep breath, “It’s a long story but to make it short, I was sent back through time and to a different region.” he said, “And I didn’t have to be there that long, but I had amnesia.” he said, “But I’m home now and my memory seems to be completely intact, and that’s what matters right now.” He stepped aside to let Elesa pass him and make her way to the kitchen. He followed behind. He still wanted that coffee.
“How did you make it home?” Elesa asked.
“I had help from another couple that was in the same situation. They… weren’t there as long, nor did they have amnesia, but regardless.” Ingo picked up his coffee and blew on it.
“Do you know how to get contact of the champions of Alola?” Emmet asked.
“Um… well, I’d have to contact Alder, who would have contact with the other regional champions.” Elesa said, then the twins watched something click in Elesa’s head, “Oh! So the Alolan champions brought you home!” she looked at Ingo who was nodding in confirmation, “I’d love to talk to them!” she exclaimed. Then she hummed, “Wait- when I saw them on the news, they looked familiar…”
“They’ve traveled through here before.” Ingo said, “Said they did the league challenge in every region before they settled down and ‘retired’ in Alola.”
“So they had to have come through my gym at some point… do you know their aces?” she asked.
“Uh… the Hoennian woman had a talking blaziken that she spoke of as though he were human. And the Kantonian man had a talking pikachu.” Ingo sipped his coffee, then lit up and kept drinking.
Elesa shuddered, “I remember the pikachu…” she crossed her arms, “Would have made a great model pokemon if he’d stop talking and sit still.” she said, “I remember them now, that was so long ago.” she said, “I’ll talk to Alder later and try to get their contact information. She looked over at Ingo, “Tired?”
Ingo finally brought down the mug, “I haven’t had coffee in five years, I’d almost forgotten the way it tasted.” he exhaled.
“I guess that’s fair.” Elesa said.
Emmet sneered, “How bad was your caffeine withdrawal?” he asked.
Ingo shuddered, “I haven’t had a headache that bad until that fire.” he said.
Emmet chuckled. “After your coffee, go shower. I’;; get some more sleep and we’ll show your pokemon you’re home.” he said.
Ingo smiled warmly, “Sounds good.” he leaned back on the counter and put his hand in his pocket, then froze just before taking a sip of his coffee.
“What’s wrong?” Emmet asked.
Wordlessly, Ingo pulled out two slightly weathered photos from his pocket. Ingo put down his mug and looked between the two. One with Sneasler, the other with his pokemon team he’d left behind. He took a deep breath, “I had these taken before I knew I was able to come home.” he said.
Emmet stood up and looked at the photos, leaning on the counter beside Ingo.”Whoa, what are those?” he pointed at the alpha pokemon.
Ingo took a deep breath, “Uh, so that’s Guard, he was a wyrdeer, which stantler used to evolve into. That’s Guillo, a kleavor, which scyther used to evolve into, and that’s Hauntress.” he pointed to the basculegion, “Uh… so there used to be a white-striped form of basculin, and only they could evolve into basculegion… but uh… pretty sure white-striped basculin are extinct…” he said.
Emmet saw Sneasler, “Is that the sneasel you were talking about? She looks… different.”
“Well- Hisui had a different variation of sneasel and they evolved into this. Sneasler.” he said, “She was one of the chosen by Arceus to protect Hisui, and I was in charge of looking after her.” he wiped his eye, “She wasn’t mine, necessarily, but it felt like she just adopted me.”
Elesa came over to look at the photos, “Oh, she looks like she had an attitude.” she smiled.
“She did.” Ingo said fondly, looking back and forth between the two photos. “I’m going to miss them.” he said.
“Did… did you not bring them?” Emmet asked.
Ingo shook his head. “I felt they’d be better suited at home. In Hisui. Helping the Pearl Clan.” he looked down at the tunic he still wore. “We said our goodbyes, though.” he said. “I’d like to get these framed.” he said.
“Of course!” Emmet nodded. “We’ll have those on the shelf for now.” he said.
“Thanks.” Ingo straightened up, “I’m going to shower. I’ll be out in a few.” he walked off.
Elesa and Emmet watched him leave, before looking back at each other and smiling. Elesa stepped forward and hugged him, “I can’t believe he’s back.”
Emmet’s eyes watered, “I’m… so relieved.” he said.
“Hey, we can celebrate your birthday now.” she said, “A little late, but better late than never, right?” she stepped back.
Emmet nodded, “I’d rather I didn’t have a headache for it, but might I propose the weekend?” He asked.
“Yeah, that’d give you time to recover and him to readjust.” she said, “Not to mention you’d have to talk to the police and close his case.” she said.
Emmet rolled his eyes, then winced once again at his headache.
“How’s your head?” she asked.
“Hurts.” he stated, “That bouffalant really rattled something.”
“Did you get your pain medication from the pharmacy?”
He shook his head, “No, just came straight home from the urgent care.” he said.
“I’ll go get them.” she said. “You and Ingo shouldn’t be going anywhere for a while. Did you call out of work?” she asked.
“Cilan did that for me. He’s taking over for the day.” he said, “He just… kind of assumed I wouldn’t be in today.”
“Good kid.” she nodded in approval, then walked him to the living room and sat him down. They faintly heard the shower running. Emmet laid on the couch and covered his eyes with his arm.
“So… what’s going to happen with your brother’s new reputation of bouffalant-wrestling?” Elesa asked.
“That’s up to him.” Emmet said, “He’s been through a lot, and apparently a bouffalant isn’t even the worst he’s had to face, but however he wants to handle that, I’ll be right behind him.” he said. He said.
“So… what was it like seeing that?”
“Seeing what?”
“Ingo wrestling the bouffalant?”
“Oh- I was unconscious.” Emmet answered, “I didn’t see anything. But Ingo says he never touched it.”

I have completely fallen in love with your Nimbasa Resonance AU ❤️
Aww thank you!! Here, have some miscellaneous trio silliness!
...
"I think I need a knife for this."
"That is a salad."
"Woe is me, I have no cutting cutlery with which to eat this food." Elesa's dramatic pose and over the top tone failed to affect Emmet. Drat, normal against ghost type.
"Then perish." Emmet couldn't hide the tiny glint in his eye, nor the way his soul instinctively reached out to hers. It was addicting sometimes, resonating during a bland joke and building up preposterous amounts of joy simply from the back and forth.
Her grin nearly matched his own, devious as she reached for his arm across the table. It was almost enough to break his will until-
"Pwease, mistew Emmet?"
"I hate you. That's it." He shifted into a blade in her hands, continuing, "Here! Now I'm sparing my ears. I can't hear you. I'm a knife. Your stupid salad knife!"
Instead of continuing the bit, Elesa ran a gentle finger along the long sides of the blade. She inspected for nicks, then held him up to the light at different angles to check straightness.
"Little curve there." She mumbled.
"I'm not straight?"
"I'd call you a fruit knife if that was a thing." She held the knife so that his face shone like a reflection in the mirror. "And I thought you couldn't hear me."
"It is. Probably." He didn't grace the rest with a response. "I do go into fruit quite-"
Elesa choked out a laugh. "You wanna rephrase-"
"AS A KNIFE"
"Kin-"
"I HAVE BEEN USED TO PEEL APPLES!" Emmet's voice almost rivalled Ingo, and the blush she could see on his cheeks sure did remind her of apples.
"DO I WANT TO KNOW?" came a booming voice from downstairs. Ok, yeah, Emmet's yelling voice still paled in comparison.
Elesa smiled wickedly as Emmet shifted back. In retaliation, he tipped her salad over onto the table and trudged away.
Her smile gentled as she noted how he made sure to tip it away from the edge. He and Ingo both knew how tough it could be to get stains out. Some part of her wondered if this urge to rile him up was a test or just her usual antics.
There was a baseless fear somewhere deep inside that said the twins would leave her behind someday. She was afraid of losing them both, whether to more time travel or simple wanderlust. It was scary enough losing one of them, and she'd spent so, so very long trying not to lose Emmet as well in any capacity.
And now, well, she liked to test the boundaries. Not the rigid ones of course, just general annoyance. Each time he restrained himself from giving her a noogie or bear hugging her to rumple her good clothes, she was reminded that he wouldn't be going anywhere. That he cared, not only about her, but her passion as well. Her good clothes were off limits, no matter how many buttons she pressed.
Elesa barely noticed Ingo entering the room until he spoke up. "Don't let the paparazzi see you looking like that. They'd think you're in love."
"But I am. Platonically. He's- you both are so-" at a loss for words, she made vague motions with her hands. 'Perfect?' nah no one is perfect. 'Great' just seemed too vague. 'Kind? Considerate? Wonderful?' all true, but it wasn't enough to express the enormity of how much she appreciated her weapon partners. Sadly, her mouth moved without thinking and she finished with "So cool!"
Ingo put a hand over his mouth, but could not stop the laughter at all. It was a line so often used by little kids at Gear Station, looking up at them with stars in their eyes and dreams budding in their hearts.
"We find you cool as well, Elesa." Ingo said when he finally got his chuckling to a manageable level. "Or 'verrrrry cool', as my brother would put it."
"Hm, your impersonation needs work."
"Much like your etiquette," He said, pointing to her still-upturned salad bowl before righting it. "It works better like this."
"Why thank you, kind Warden. Your guidance is always appreciated." Her sarcasm was dulled by the way she took his hand, running a thumb over his knuckles. It was a soft gesture, typically an unspoken offer to let him shift if he wanted. A remnant of parties that got too big or loud even before his disappearance, it spoke in ways words couldn't. It was an offer of escape, understanding, support.
Ingo gave her a genuine smile. It caught her off guard enough that she didn't catch the mischievous twitch of his eyebrow. In one quick motion, he grabbed a bit of salad dressing on a finger and booped her nose with it.
"Ew! Ingo!"

Tumblr media Tumblr media
so uh. that poto au i did just over a week ago.
was playing around with some ships to figure out who would fit the roles of the other characters, and landed on airplaneshipping for christine and raoul. preferably ignore all the plot that would have to happen to lead to this point. (the scene where the phantom shoots fireballs, except in the pokémon universe it's a full on battle against the phantom and his chandelure. for an added bonus, look up the name of the 'song' sung during this part of the musical.)
Tumblr media
unmasked ver. (additional design notes under cut)
elesa:
christine's dress in this scene is light blue, which is a colour that is indeed present in elesa's design (her bw2 outfit moreso). elesa not wearing any yellow felt wrong though, which is why the layers underneath are yellow-tinted.
went with her bw1 hair colour because christine was blonde in the original book.
her cloak is mostly based off her bw2 jacket in shape; it's black with a red clasp, which makes it not only similar to the cloak donned by christine in the musical but also retains the same idea of the cloak being a visual representation of the phantom's (who wears mostly black) hold over them. (+ the other colour ingo is most associated with is red.)
however, because of the lighting, said cloak appears yellow on the side closer to skyla - more similar to her canon design, and being close to skyla in a way rids her of the darkness.
she gets to change her hairstyle as a treat.
skyla:
it wasn't common for women to wear waistcoats at the time (1900s), but sapphics in history quite famously fucked with a lot of gender norms.
actually both of these lovebirds are blue now. sets up a colour contrast between the lighter, friendlier blues of the couple and the darkness and reds of the phantom. (blue = friend and red = foe like it's fire emblem)
the way swanna is placed is intentional, to set up a more angelic imagery mirroring the phantom's darker version (more on that in a bit).
both women wear matching white roses in their hair. something something flower symbolism. but skyla does also have feathers in her hair, for obvious reasons.
swoobat because hearts :D
ingo:
was debating on whether to make him actually more deformed in this au, but didn't really feel in the mood to sit down and design it in detail for this piece.
there isn't much i can say about his outfit design given it's literally just mashing his usual uniform together with his butler alt from masters. though upon actually looking up the phantom's outfit, the end result is actually surprisingly close. not surprising given both wear victorian suits and primarily wear black.
my original concept for the au was that he still works with the subway, he just does it from the shadows instead of being a public figure - hence he still wears a train conductor's hat. though since the battle subway isn't a thing (or at least not in the form we know it) he doesn't have its logo.
his cloak is intentionally flared up in this scene, for a few reasons: 1) it looks cool, 2) it resembles gliscor (albeit it isn't present here) and 3) mirrors skyla with a darker angelic imagery - the original musical had the whole "angel of music / death" thing.
i actually went through quite a few variations of his mask before settling on this one, and even then i'm not entirely satisfied with it.
Tumblr media
version 1: exactly the same as the one used in most advertising for the musical - decently terrifying, but considering ingo's main 'issue' is his mouth, which this (and the one actually used within the musical) doesn't cover, this would be completely useless aside from probably hiding his identity and especially his resemblance to emmet.
Tumblr media
version 2: leaned more into the angle of trying to alter his expression, particularly to be smiling instead - to be more similar to his brother. also suitably unsettling, but this specific style wouldn't work if you looked at him from any angle besides this one though. also, from this angle, because his actual mouth is obscured, i was worried he would actually be mistaken for emmet instead (given generally fandom tends to make emmet the unhinged one - let ingo have some fun too, guys).
Tumblr media
version 3, the one i went with: has patterns at the cheeks simulating the edges of a smile (and also has the black-on-white contrast); his actual mouth is hidden but visible through the cloth.
why is there a litwick on the gravestone? good question!
in all honesty, this was part me drawing blorbos into an au and part me conceptualising what the pokémon universe version of POTO would look like.

A series of Graveyard Train Emmet thoughts I want to expand on someday:
When Ingo disappeared, Emmet was 100% a wreck. Like, surveillance cameras recorded Ingo walking into an empty train and just. Never coming out. Emmet stayed in the train for hours the next day looking, and eventually had to be forced out so he didn't contaminate the crime scene. (Not that there was much to find.)
Elesa and the other Station workers helped keep Emmet busy in like... A productive way. Dragging him out to dinner or other activities, spending time with him when he'd normally be alone, things like that. Eventually one of his friends takes him to a piano concert. Watching the pianist's hands working separately and yet together to make multiple parts of a song come together... It interested him. Eventually he starts going to grief therapy and learning piano to help cope.
It took a surprisingly long time for anyone to notice Emmet was missing when he boarded the In-Between Train (I never came up with a cool official name so that's my stand-in). It was the year anniversary of Ingo's disappearance and Emmet was already taking a few days off. No one realized he was missing until Elesa went to his home and it was empty.
That combined with the fact that he left his Pokemon behind led to some very. Not good conclusions. Thankfully he reappeared about three days later! Horribly injured! Oh no.
Yeah Emmet spent a whole week on the In-Between Train. Most of that time was spent in Cyrus's version of the Distortion World.
Since Emmet was taken back to Nimbasa City, a lot of his background memories were able to return pretty quickly! He still can't remember specific events but he can usually figure out if he's done something or seen a movie before. He still remembers how to play piano.
He also occasionally models with Elesa since he started working in the gym with her! But he mostly helps challengers get ready to fight on stage, mostly to help make sure they don't get overwhelmed by the lights and noise.
No matter what he does, he can't remember anything about Ingo. He knows he has a brother, sure, but for some reason any information about him just... Doesn't register in Emmet's head. This doesn't stop him from feeling like something in his life is missing.
Has three main friends outside of Elesa: Isadore, one of his old coworkers; Krissa, a cyclist who works as an anatomy teacher at a local high school; and Clyde the Gym Guide.
Amnesiac Emmet doesn't like people constantly bringing up his past. Even if he can't remember much about it, it still leaves a bad taste in his mouth. That's why he spends so much time with those three. Isadore doesn't ask uncomfortable questions, Krissa barely knew a thing about the Battle Subway in the first place because she just bikes everywhere, and Clyde only really wants to know how Emmet's doing as as co-Gym Leader.
Emmet also plays Wordle and like a dozen more challenging variants of it. He, Krissa, and Isadore have a group chat where they compare how they do. He also has a very long daily streak on Flow Free. Connecting dots is fun, what can I say.
Very adamant on the fact that he did not have a hand in killing Volo. Blame Emmet's memory ghost, not him.
Was 100% putting himself between Ingo and Volo in chapter 9 so that he'd get hit instead of Ingo. Emmet didn't even have his memories of Ingo back yet and he was already ride or die.
Emmet does not have a violent bone in his body. Unfortunately Ghost!Emmet did not have a body and almost had to watch Ingo getting attacked by Volo AGAIN. He makes an exception this once.
In the time he was on the train, Ghost!Emmet was like an older brother to Ray and Ailey. Like oh my god these two love him and think the world of him. He's also good friends with Anabel and Looker. Not so much with Cyrus and Mohn. Of course, he and Ghost!Ingo are inseparable at that time. (I'll absolutely include scenes of this in chapter 10)
Still isn't sure how he feels about Rei, The Conductor. He's thankful that they helped reunite him and his brother but... They still unnerve him. He isn't sure why anyone would willingly spend so much time on the In-Between Train.
Emmet didn't end up on the train by accident. He was called there by Rei. There was a chance that he could have ended up on the In-Between Train on accident... Well, no there wasn't. People don't accidentally end up on the train more than once.
Emmet has no memory of this, but, when he was very young, he and Ingo went to the Entralink one day to play. The two became separated and Emmet became lost. There shouldn't have been any trains in the Entralink, but he ended up on one somehow. Someone led him to the exit, though he would not recognize them when he grew older. But... That's a story for another day.

lays on the ground h. hi its 2 am welcome to the post abt how the mcs fit into the soul eater au girl (note: timeline is a bit fucky!! i am. Working On It)
Hilda and Hilbert
Our first duo still grow up with Bianca and Cheren! They're twins, a weapon duo, but ones who have no meister, and instead choose to wield themselves!
Cheren and Bianca are a meister weapon duo respectively, having decided early on they'd be working together since their best friends refused a meister (which they honestly think is really cool, Bianca especially. She'd never be able to do the stuff they do on their own)
Cheren is the only meister Hilda and Hilbert would let wield them (besides themselves). Bianca also has an open invitation, but she's not really a fighter
Also ive just decided a lot of the stuff im abt to write a QUICK warning OSJDDO
Bianca is a shield, and though she has some sharp edges, in truth she's made for support
Her, Cheren, Hilda, and Hilbert actually form a four-man team, Bianca and Cheren often acting as support
They barely entertained the thought of working alone, realizing very quickly Bianca was meant for support
Around the time of 16, Bianca actually learns how to heal through soul perception
This is gonna sound weird. But Listen,
Think of it as a heal pulse move. She can only do it to nearby people, but it's through manipulating the soul into calming, and wounds into healing through fixing the form of a weapon. She can only calm meisters, but weapons find her a big help.
It's sort of like. Reverse madness? Except. It's more like, with meisters, simply calming the soul, and with weapons, using madness to mold an almalgamate form into a form it was previously before harm
I honestly have no clue what Hilda and Hilbert (or Nate and Rosa) would be. Maybe swords for the first two and then guns for the second two? Smth smth old then modern. Genuinely, I have no clue, and will absolutely be taking suggestions.
These four are a couple years younger than Elesa, Emmet, and Ingo, showing up to the DWMA when the three are 15.
Around the same time, team Plasma show up.
The main characters still do a lot of the work, but Elesa, Emmet, and Ingo are important goals for all four of them to look up to.
see.....this is why i said the timeline was fucky. i wanted emmet n ingo to know the kids when they were also kids ok :(
After team Plasma has been Thrashed, by the time everyone has aged a year, all 7 of them are given madness stones.
We've said where the trio keeps there's, but as for these four
Bianca and Cheren keep theirs on a bracelet (Cheren didn't really care where it went and Bianca wanted to match) and Hilda and Hilbert also wear theirs as earrings! Though they don't keep anything else on their other ear, it's only one.
(yes there are special smiths who make the stones into jewelry. yes i just decided this)
Rosa and Nate
These two still show up about 10 years after Hilda and Hilbert do their thing, appearing when Ingo and Emmet are 25, Elesa is 26, and the other four are more like 23
Bianca still becomes an apprentice, but to the nurse of the DWMA, this time
Cheren becomes a teacher, well known for his stern but kind teaching
Hilda and Hilbert travel a LOT and Bianca and Cheren are the only ones who ever know where they are. They go around doing random jobs that weapons are made for, cleaning up random madmen and helping other meister/weapon duos and DWMAs across other regions
Rosa and Nate,,,like I said no CLUE what they are but they just chill at the DWMA, also have no meister, but don't have support in Cheren and Bianca, they're solo
They take Emmet and Ingo's class for Obvious Reasons and Instantly become some of the two's favorites
OHHH MY FOD I FORGOT ABT. THE RIVLA
i know nothing abt him..
um. he. uh. goes to the dwma,,hes a weapon who can wield himself but. iS LOOKING FOR HIS MEISTER. Who became part of team Plasma!!!! WOO ok I FIXED IT
he looks for a purloin right. whos forgotten abt him. ok YES lets go
N e ways UHH. Rosa and Nate beat the shit out of team Plasma (w/ the help of N this time, along w Emmet, Ingo, Elesa, and the quartet described above (so many names..)) in a similar fashion to 10 yrs prior and get some madness stones. Which they wear as earrings too (weapon twins who wear madness gems as earrings 🤝)
(Once it's all over, Emmet and Ingo, Hilda and Hilbert, and Rosa and Nate happen upon each other, the former two having been called by the president and the latter just leaving.
They all notice the placement of their stones, and even Emmet begins to laugh.
They stand in a perfect triangle, the three duos all making a side.
Their stones of madness glint in the light, all two halves of one whole, all made to be worn near each other, all made within the same breath.
The president laughs, Arceus looking over his shoulder.
"All is as it should be," the president hummed.
Arceus made a booming sound.
One that meant, 'finally...indeed.')
UHHH ANYWAYS. thats one more post done!!! team plasma next which is. kind of a doozy. a lil. im still mentally ironing out their details like i said this au has existed for like a couple of days PSJDODDKFJF

Random stuff:
Jin has a tattoo on the back of their shoulders ( I don't know what the exact term is called). It's a pair of wings. I feel they got this in their late teen- early 20's as a final act in their angst phase until they realize " hey maybe I should chill". They don't regret it, it's a really good tattoo.
Speaking of tattoos, I'm changing Wayne's a bit. I feel it would fit his character to have something much smaller than his entire arm. I still think it would be one of a Serperior, but maybe around his forearm? I still need to think about it but yeah.
Jin accidentally called Kohaku and Wally their wife and husband respectively once. They didn't propose yet, but was planning to. They're too embarrassed to try now, especially since Kohaku will never let it go.
Most people are shocked too see Kiran being much more fit that they were before being yanked into the past. Unfortunately for Kiran, this means getting dragged into Danica's and Barry's work out routine against his will. He can't complain to much though. It's probably the least akward time they have together and it's where Danica and Barry act like their old selves. Still. Kiran just wanna study.
Kenji skateboards :D
I'm thinking about having Flint and Buck be distant relatives to Alder and Benga.
Marlon is from Alola and is black in this au because fuck his canon design.
Same goes for Flint and Benga too.
Elesa hair is naturally black in this au.
Drayden might be the train twins uncle or grandpa. Still deciding.
Speaking of Drayden, based on his house in the games, unless that's his wife and kids, I like to imagine Drayden just being like " oh hey do need a place to stay? Sure you can live with me. You're my kid now", and there's nothing much people can do about it lol.
Back to ocs, Aiko is a very skilled dancer due to her training under the Kimono Girls, and also knows how to be an excellent hostess. She just chooses not to use those skills lmao.
Danica occasionally does contests, but not the big popular ones that her mother used to do. More of the lower scale, local contests that happen. Angel is who she uses the most when it comes to these.
She probably has ran into Drew ( oc ) a couple of times but probably never actually introduced herself.
Klink where Ingo and Emmets first pokemon, then followed by what they're most known for, such as Chandelure and Galvantula.
Emmet will most definitely drag Alexis to Chargestone Cave to attract Joltik. It's better than constantly breeding them but poor Alexis is now constantly swarmed by little fuzzy spiders.
Eva is occasionally called by Elesa to do some modelling. She's very good at it, and it allows her to try on different styles she usually doesn't wear. Elliot always gets the photographs first, which never fails to make her heart explode( pos).
Trash talk is something so weird to Naomi. She understands why people do it, her friends do it before battle too. But sometimes it gets mean, and she doesn't want to be mean. So she lightly encourages instead, only really trash talking with her friends, slightly, but treats it as light teasing between friends than something to get the crowd hyped up.
Carol loves trash talk by the way, they get to insult people and play it off as a joke professionally. It will come for their ass later, but they love it regardless.

A/n: I am getting too too many ideas while thinking about something to right so here is a short story instead . So in this story Emmet is a robot
Many years ago
Ingo: a robot
???: Yes I am certain that he will be able to help you manage the gear station
Ingo: well let's meet him then professor Gary
Gary: Gary is fine or just call me G since most people mistakes me for Gary ork
They came to a room where they saw a robot that looks exactly like Ingo except his uniform is white . He was sound asleep
Ingo: you made him look like me
Gary: (embarrassed) eh well hehe It's just a random thought I had while I was trying to think of an appearance . But press the button on the container he will wake up
He nodded and pressed the button . The container opens . The robot starting the open their eyes
???: Professor did you made another robot
Gary: haha no my boy this one isn't a Robot this is Ingo the person I told you about
???: (Blinks and looks at Ingo curiously) well hello Ingo nice to meet you
Ingo: pleasure to meet you, does he have a name ?
Gary: I haven't given him one yet but since he will be working with you so why don't you give him a name
Ingo looks at the robot in the eye . It's like looking at a mirror or like having a twin
Ingo: well if I had a brother then I would call him Emmet
Emmet: Emmet …. I am Emmet pleasure to meet you Ingo
Gary: also Ingo listen he is learning how to get along with humans so he might have trouble understanding something. I hope you take care of him .
Ingo: I will you have my word
Emmet: shall we start working Ingo ?
Ingo pov
As the month went on my job had gotten easier thanks to Emmet's help . He is really helpful but at times he can be mischievous . I also started to notice he act more at ease with me and acts more human. Well professor says that he is robot capable of experiencing human emotions but he never saw it happening until he had me . He seems to be in deep thoughts sometimes
Ingo: Emmet
Emmet: what is it Ingo?
Ingo: is something bothering you?
Emmet: (nervous) I ..um it's nothing really
Ingo: Emmet I told you that I can't help you unless you tell me what's bothering you
Emmet: well I..I remember when we first met and when you gave me a name .
Ingo: ah yes I remember that
Emmet: you said if you had a brother you would call me Emmet so I was wondering if
Ingo: if ?
Emmet: if it's ok for me to call you nii San
Ingo: (blinks) huh
Emmet: eh ah it's ok i will st—
Ingo: no no I am ok with it I am just curious as to why you wanted to do it suddenly
Emmet: um well it's hard to explain. Working with you at first was normal and I enjoyed it a lot . I also noticed how you were treating me as a person not as a tool . I thought humans aren't like how my father treats me so I wasn't expecting it and I started to feel close to you and I felt like you're my brother even though I know it's not true . (Chuckle) it's stupid honestly just forget what I said
Ingo: no Emmet it's not stupid I understand how you feel
Emmet: (surprised) really
Ingo: (nods ) I would be lying if I didn't say I started to feel like you're my own brother . I don't care if you're a robot , I know the feelings and emotions you show are genuine so no matter what everyone says (hugs ) your my brother Kudari
Emmet: (hugs) thank you Nobori nii San
…..
….
…..
I wake up crying and lady snesler looks at me with worry .
Ingo: Kudari my brother..oh Arceus how could I forget about him
Snesler: (nuzzles him)
Ingo: I am fine I finally remember now I need to go back
She looks at me with sadness and understanding . I talked with Akari and she send out Arceus. I gave my final farewell to everyone . Then lady snesler came and gave me one of her egg . I was honestly surprised but she insists that I should take them
Ingo: (nods) I promise I will take good care of them
Snesler: (pat his head)
Then a bring light surrounded us and I was back at the gear station . I was greeted by my partner Chandelure and Elesa . Chandelure hugs me with joy while Elesa seems unsure if it's a dream or not
Elesa: Ingo is that really you ?
Ingo: yes it is me I am sorry for my sudden departure
Elesa: (hugs him) oh Arceus your really here
Ingo: (hugs her) yes I am back but where is Emmet
Elesa: well about that it's best if you see it for yourself
We went to a room and I saw Emmet asleep inside the container , professor was looking after him . I don't see a problem until I noticed he was asleep for 5 years in the monitor
Ingo: Fi….five years
Elesa: Emmet overworked himself to keep everything running until you get back , he even tried to looked for you….. until he collapse G put him in it to charge him but
Ingo: but …
Gary: he refused to wake up
Ingo: what
Gary: he refused to wake up , he will wake up when you came back
I looked at Emmet and pressed the button. He starting to open his eyes ,
Ingo: Kudari
Emmet: (tackle hugs him) NOBORI NII SAN
Both of us hugged and cried with joy to be reunited again .

UGGGH SO GOOOOD!!
Them basically getting a Pokemon playroom, amazing. (Now I'm just picturing them in a greenhouse-like setting; Elesa comes in to meet them, calls their names and they just hop down from one of the trees, no sweat) Emmet sparring with Eelectross, hinting that he did this on the regular with other Pokemon (probably Alphas); that is an image I didn't know I needed XD
Ingo telling Elesa their story, just...MY HEART. I just imagine Akari is snuggling some 'Mons when he's talking about the Red Sky so she doesn't think about it and Emmet's sparring hits become steadily harder and angrier as he thinks about it. And I never considered the idea that even though the clans like and support the Silver Phantoms, the three still got stung pretty badly when they attempted first contact, which was why they remained in the wild instead of eventually settling down with one of the clans.
Also, poor Rowan and Cynthia; there's nothing worse than finding out that one of your ancestors turned out to be a massive jerk. But honestly, now that they know the whole story, it's all uphill from here. Now we just gotta get them reacquainted with modern-day stuff and keep working on interaction with people.
Legends Arceus: Silver Phantoms AU - Faces of the Future
My GOD I did not expect this brainrot to be so huge!
Anyway, this is basically the sequel to this post in a scenario where the Phantom Family get randomly yeeted back to the future and have to slowly get reintroduced to friends and family they left behind and hopefully get memories back too.
