criminal case theory that has absolutely NOTHING to do with any of the main stories 🤯🤯🗣️🔥

theory: is gerald riverton (s1 e50) and alexander vladinsky (s1 e27) related

section 1: "where the fuck is this coming from???"

similar physical traits

a.) gerald would've been 23 at alex's birth

b.) they have the same shit eating smirk (it probably runs in the family)

2. personality traits and mentality (this probably doesn't mean anything but hey)

a.) they're overdramatic dimwits I just can't 😭

(gerald is arguably worse)

b.) jones has dialogue where he calls them crazy or a madman (he's not wrong)

(he also calls gerald a lunatic)

3. breaking the law

a.) alex is arrested prior to the events of season 1 (and released soon after) for shoplifting and/or theft in general, and then get arrested for murder (obviously, he's the killer of the case) (I wonder if buster has a killer card of him)

b.) gerald is confronted (not arrested) after throwing bricks at jones (which hits him) and the player, which is of course assaulting a police officer, he is also mentioned to be fired from the opera, yet he still resides there (implied to somewhat be living there) which can be considered trespassing, but this is never brought up, finally he steals Beatrice Vane's harpsichord, plays it to "scare" people, and manages to break it (theft of private property, disturbing peace, and destruction of stolen property) but he is not arrested because she believes he harmless and doesn't press charges

this can show that they both lack a conscious and can be impulsive, and both seem to have no problem of harming others in some way shape or form to get to a desired objective

section 2: "erm akshully ☝️🤓"

there is a photo of a younger gerald, showing him to be blond, how come alex isn't blonde like him? (so do I look like himmm /reference)

a.) this theory is shifting towards gerald being alex's father, so alex could have simply inherited the hair color from his mother, or either of them could've dyed it

2. although they appear to have the same color of skin, how come gerald is ghost white compared to alex?

a.) because he lives in the opera basement (and has probably lost his mind) he may lack certain nutrients, or just simply from not going outside during the day and getting vitamin d

3. why aren't their height and weight the same, if not close?

a.) gerald is in his 50's and has probably gained weight from certain stressors, or it's just simply his body shape and metabolism

b.) alex is 31 and seems to be quite healthy compared to gerald (probably because he's known to be more active and doesn't spend his time in a basement) it could be metabolism or from his activity (he's known to swim well, and does so often, perhaps that can keep him in shape)

c.) some children (although a bit uncommon) can inherit their height from both parents, which usually end up being somewhere in between the height gap of the parents, and that could mean that alex's mother is probably 5'0 to 5'5, and compared to gerald's height of 6'0, possibly landed alex at 5'7 by adulthood

4. what's with the surnames, then?

possibilities:

a.) gerald is alex's illegitimate father, which gives alex his mother's surname

b.) either gerald or alex could've changed the surname to avoid being associated with each other

c.) gerald and alex's mother separated prior to birth, she remarries during her pregnancy, and gives alex his step-parent's surname at birth

d.) something else, alex's last name suggests he is of russian descent, but gerald's sounds to be american, if not canadian or the united kingdom

5. they seem to have similar mental traits, but they're still quite different?

a.) alex seems to show no remorse for his actions, and thinks that it's "the proper thing to do", however it's pretty easy to find him simply walking around

b.) gerald shows little remorse too, but unlike alex, he is quicker to confess to these crimes, and can easily evade authorities, even in a closed interrogation room

c.) gerald committed crimes as the "Opera Phantom", his motive was entirely based around his career at the opera house, to the points where he becomes slightly deranged upon living in its basement and getting fired from the opera staff

d.) alex's motive has less career, and way more poetry and "romance" (god forbid💀🙏), which compelled him to steal roses and murder a woman in the name of love, and attempts to explain that he believes that love and murder are the same thing, + the idea that "murder is the highest form of desire", all while using the alias "The Creature of The Lake"

e.) both show that they have one goal in mind, related to their passions, and seem to stop at almost nothing to get to said goal. yet, alex seems to be more sadistic and merciless than gerald, who simply commits petty, small crimes, and overshadows it by kidnapping and drowning a chick in the back of the car because he thought it was romantic and that "she would definitely approve"
