I am really drawn to media about terrible people who are still loveable and it is because it is therapeutic. Bc you think about it
“I am not a terrible person” - Faulty hypothesis from first principles. Undefined terms. Unquantifiable. Attempts to prove a negative. Meaningless. In terms of anxious thought spirals this claim is a bottomless pit you will never escape from.
“I am probably not a terrible person but even if I was that wouldn’t be so bad” - Strong hypothesis that accounts for the variability in terms and methods of measurement. Allows you to get on with thinking about other things, such as what a nice day it is today
