you said it was a hero x villain story right? how so?

I did, and it was kinda the second reason I was hesitant to talk abt this. I fell like ppl would assume things since I made them both guys and they're the hero x villain trope and whatnot but that won't be answering the question you asked and it'd be kinda hard to explain anyways.

But in the start of the story, it lays out that McCoy and Jackle are enemies (hence the hero and villain trope) and then later, when the scene if them fighting is over, I think I'll make it show that they're at like a Café or on some kind of date show that they've been dating for a few years or so. And I'mthroughout the story it switches between them beingyl the hero and villainsbthey are and their normal life if that makes sense?

Also McCoy is shown to have suspicions now and I want to show how even though he could've left, he didn't bc he didn't think Jackle would do that to him. And in Jackles villain disguise, he hides himself but like having a wig on or smth. Point is he doesn't look like how he does when out of his disguise. The story then ends with Jackle killing McCoy and Jackle then reflecting

he does!! He doesn't have enough to transform into an actual deer, so he has what is considered an “average amount” of magic for Deerlings

can you tell me a bit about lady lavender?

Lady Lavender is the villain of the story, the tyrant leader of the Deerlings. I don't quite remember how I came up with the plot, but me and my friend talked a lot abt how to execute the “tyrant leader” role she plays in a good way. Actually one of my favorite villains I've made like omgggg

She was chosen as the leader from the gods above (the first leaders of the Deerlings) after Last Leafs (leader before Lady Lavender) ruling was over (after 250 years). They have to give up the necklace they were given to give them some needed magic (only if needed) to help rule the society but that's ALSO a whole other topic I'll elaborate on how leaders are chosen if you want me to <33 they also get the title of “Lady” or “Sir” infront of their names when chosen as leader

OK NOW WITH SOME CONTEXT OUT OF THE WAY!! Lady Lavender was an average Deerling before she was chosen, lower in the ranks of the hierarchy (which the Deerlings don't rlly acknowledge much) and liked gardening and helping other Deerlings. I think me and my friend had decided that she did have moments where she was an iffy person but when she was chosen to be leader, she became corrupt in a way??

The idea of the power she had now as she held the necklace in her hands was like “omg.. I'm stronger now....” or smth like that. Here's what I wrote in the Google doc abt her —

Lady Lavender is the ruler in this time, a tyrant ruler. She has long, dark hair and tan skin with round, soft blue eyes. She was always described as a person who was kind and cared for her family and those close, but she had her moments. Though when she was chosen to be a ruler, she realized just how much power she had now and decided to use that power for whatever she wishes, good or bad, and manipulate the people by seeming to care for them and doing small things, but the actions have empty meaning.

I love her sm.. I don't have much developed abt her but I will eventually!! I also will post the thing I wrote for her abt what I talked abt here if you're interested devil (and others ofc)

what is rosemary's family like?

her family is very good to her and I will say now that the Deerlings have magic and there are different levels. Rosemary has the most (is not the protag) and their ruler is actually using her magic so. I love Lady Lavender as the villain of the story tho but that's abt smth else

I don't rlly have much on Rosemarys parents but they do treat her very well and are on good terms with Frostedleaf and his mothers :33

does frostedleaf have siblings or is he an only child?

he's an only child and was actually taken in by Olga and Daisy. I think I decided that they wanted at least a kid so I gave them this silly little guy. They found him while berry picking if I remember that right.. he was left behind by his biological parents but I haven't dove too much into that topic yet

um um okay how old are frostedleaf and rosemary?

Frostedleaf is 95 years old (15 years) and Rosemary is 96 years old (16 years). I don't feel like explaining the math I did for the Deerling species bc it was almost too complicated for me ngl. I think it's right but I don't wanna double check rn and ik damn well it's still a bit funky and needs to be tweaked 😔😔

since you offered. how are leaders chosen?

I'm itching to work on a post to make for the whole summary of this story so I'll just copy and paste what I have written down. If you want any clarifications pls ask bc I will happily answer 🙏🙏

Every 250 years (25 years), a new ruler is chosen at the heart of the Cherry Blossom forest beside the town and after someone is chosen, they are given a necklace by the gods themselves that contains the extra power they need — if they have a smaller amount to begin with. The chosen Deerling stays about a week in the heart practicing their new power limits slowly and praying their thanks to the gods and communicating with them. In the meantime, the former ruler watches over the town while the new ruler gets used to their new status and connections to the gods. When they return, the Deerling citizens welcome them back by singing them a song in their language of the place they originated from.

can you tell me a little bit more about the world this takes place in?

So here's the thing. I haven't quite thought of where their world is (like if it's their own or somewhere in a world already), but! Me and my friend touched on the idea of having other mythical ppl creatures (like dragon ppl and wolf ppl), and I think we're keeping it around.

If that is the case, the Deerlings place is all just Cherry Blossom trees. In the heart of the Cherry Blossom forest (I can't remember or find what it's called so bear with me here) is this huge cherry tree I think we called “Grand Cherry Tree” or smth like that. I rlly tried to find it 💔💔

I also have this whole entire section for their culture. I'll make a post that's transferring all the information from the doc to here, it'd be too much to summarize and explain and you'd be able to get a lot more elaboration on the questions I've been answering

magic sounds interesting! is it all the same or is it different for everyone?

the Deerlings have different levels of magic, being able to transform into a deer if they have enough magic, but it is a thing that all Deerlings have. There are some Deerlings (very few and very far between) that have an overwhelming amount of magic, which Rosemary is one of them. Lady Lavender uses that for her advantage (to which her parents are blind to, they are NOT bad parents, just trust their ruler with their daughter) for things (“things” undecided)

I feel like there could be more elaboration done but I also don't know what to elaborate on.. there's not much else rlly besides what the magic does, which I don't even know what it does honestly

how long have rossmary and frostedleaf been friends?

I haven't rlly decided the amount of time yet but it's been quite a long time. I'd say around the time when Olga and Daisy took him in so. A pretty long time!
