a yawn escaping her lips,  yasmin took a sip of the coffee she had. with the snow storm over and everything open, heading to the daily dose after dropping emine off was much needed. plus she did have some time before work to kill. "heres to hoping we don't get that much snow again." she said to herself. closing the book she had with her, she leaned back in the seat. a small sigh escaping her lips, she was praying that there would no more snow. at least not for another week or two. maybe longer if possible.

"i am a veterinarian. i am a trained professional." the frustrated chanting under her breath did not change the fact that, at the moment, clem auclair was stacking packs of puppy pee pads in the front window of the waiting office that doubled as a pet shop for the town. the packs were extremely heavy and unwieldy, and clem was glad to be called away from her task by the jingling of the doorbell. she could already see who it was.

"how's my favourite customer?" she was pretty sure by this point that he didn't actually have a dog, but he was good company.

it's probably a little weird receiving a bouquet from me, huh? ..truthfully, i don't really know how you feel about your birthday right now, but i still wanted to do a little something to let you know that you're important to me and that i was thinking about you. i also thought it was a nice little ode to our friendship, given i've always had a habit of talking your ear off about the language of flowers.

i’m not too sure how much you remember, though, so i thought it might be best to share the why i chose the flowers i did:

orange roses and pink carnations symbolize sincere gratitude and happiness.

did you know that you were the first friend i ever made? before school started, i didn’t really get to do much because of my mother’s health, so there weren’t many opportunities for me to meet other kids or spend time with them.. then i lost her and i didn’t think i’d ever be normal. until i met you, with your big brain and love for the bane of my existence. i know i was a pain and probably very annoying, but i’m very grateful that you’ve shared your existence with me all these years. there’s still pain there whenever i think back, of course, but there’s also a lot of sunshine, too, and that’s all thanks to you.

white matthiolas symbolize happiness and contentment in life.

i know those words may be hard pills to swallow right now, and i understand that completely. in my experience, it may take awhile before you ever feel “better”, but i hope you can take some sort of comfort in knowing that grief doesn’t last forever and i wish you a lifetime of both happiness and contentment.

this wasn't going to go over well. the first four strangers she'd asked had given her the strangest of looks, so she was only hoping that this might go a little better. fifth times the charm, right? It turned out the week could be very long when you didn’t really do anything with your day. Sure, there was work, but showing people how to tackle the StairMaster was a lot different than like…whatever office people did. CJ often imagined it was a lot like The Wolf of Wall Street. Still, he had a long week, and decided to bid it farewell by hanging out in O’Shea’s.

He was leaning against the bar waiting to order, smiling wide as Clem approached him. The skateboarder supposed he wasn’t really allowed favorites and stuff, but she definitely was one of them. “Dude!” He exclaimed in greeting, stretching out the word.  “Y’know I just found out a clementine is like…an orange? Like your name is like, orange. I always thought it was just, like, French or something.”
