Maybe Mia is Austrian because her character together with Carmilla is a tribute to the charather Carmilla Karnstein a story by Sheridan Le Fanuhe.

Maybe Louis is also an homage to the character from Interview with the Vampire

what the characters based on in CV is confusing, because they're also mixed up with Greek mythology/gods that fits their backstory or personality

It could be, but even in official bio/artbooks/wiki they didn't mention anything about it, probably just a reference, because if it is they should have put it somewhere (on the artbooks note/official bio/wiki)

I look for more info and ended up finding theory of Carmilla might be her mother o(-( + also found that it might be a mistake, and just a name, some people mentioned it could be a fetish, y'know how weird Japan can be

And with Louis there's so little interaction between the two leaving them in neutral (it could be but why tho, putting a lot of references for a character could leave it to be a question, especially a side character), I'm literally here searching for more stuff and ended up seeing something I wish I can unsee, about the origin of the characters is also never really being mentioned, like Louis, some people even though he was french somehow

Let's just be honest, CV got some pretty bad characters design with unclear explanation because all just for the fanservice, no I don't need see a f window boobs everytime I play this game, it's been discussed before that Mia could be Russian based on her name and design but it's never been mentioned officially, I guess they just want to leave the character with unclear explanation

THE VAMPIRE LOVERS (1970)

This one has a prologue.  A certain Count Hartog lays an ambush for a vampire lady who killed his sister.  He lures the vampire to his trap by taking her scarf, but she almost bites him to death.  However, her bosom presses against his crucifix necklace, and she is repulsed!  He hacks off her head.

We then jump to the 1790s in Styria, which was a part of Austria.  We’re at a party held by a “General” of some sort, and he is played by Peter Cushing!  His daughter is Laura.  A countess drops by, but then an ominous man appears and talks to her.  The countess must leave, but can she leave her daughter, Marcilla, behind?  The general agrees.  Laura befriends Marcilla, but Laura then starts to have nightmares and suffer from anemia, and she dies!  A doctor sees two puncture bites upon her bosom.  Because she was killed by a vampire, and the vampire is Marcilla!

We next jump over to Emma, a friend of the late Laura.  The countess reappears, and she finagles to have Marcilla stay with her, except now her name is Carmilla!  We then have a repeat of what happened at Laura’s house, except we spend more time with Emma.  She has a governess, a Mademoiselle Perrodot, who is trying to teach Emma German, but Emma is stupid.  She spends more and more time with Carmilla, and they have to take off their clothes for various reasons.  Emma’s father heads off to Vienna for business, and Perrodot is left in charge.  Emma begins to fall sick, like Laura, and Carmilla seduces Perrodot, who does nothing to help the poor Emma!  Eventually, the household staff grow concerned, and the lead butler fetches the doctor (the same one who attended to Laura).  They put a crucifix around Emma’s neck and decorate her room with garlic.  Carmilla tries to enter, and she does a funny double take at all the garlic before backing out.

Emma’s father has returned by this point and is waiting for the doctor to come back.  Unfortunately, Carmilla has killed him!  (She’s also killed some local women, as well.)  The father goes to look for the man, but he comes across the general from earlier, who is accompanied by Baron Hartog!  A young man is sent to check in on Emma, and the other men head toward the abandoned Karnstein estate to find the vampire, for reasons.  (Hartog explains that the entire family was vampires, and he spent a night digging them up and driving stakes into their hearts, but there was one he could not find.) 

At the house, Carmilla seduces the butler and gets him to remove all the anti-vampire stuff, and then she kills him.  She’s about to run off with Emma, killing Perrodot along the way, but the young man appears.  She’s going to kil him, but he holds aloft a dagger like a crucifix and drives her off.  She then casts “misty step” and disappears.  At the Karnstein estate, the other men find the tomb for Mircalla Karnstein, but it’s empty.  Inside the house, they see a painting of this Mircalla, and they realize that she is Marcilla and Carmilla!  They find her coffin buried under the floor and take it to the chapel.  They open it.  Mircalla is inside because I guess she materialized there?  Anyway, Peter Cushing drives a stake through her heart and then chops off her head.  The portrait of Mircalla transforms into a fanged skull, much like the painting from “The Picture of Dorian Gray” (1945).  Laura is avenged, Emma is safe, but the main vampire dude remains free to carry out his nefarious plans.

This was…really not good.  There is, naturlich, a strong element of homoeroticism in Mircalla’s interactions with the various women of the cast.  Mircalla tells Emma, “I want you to love me, for all your life,” but Emma is confused.  In any case, it’s impossible to tell if Mircalla is sincere, because she then seduces Perrodot.  So, instead of vampiric lesbianism being a commentary on, well, anything, it’s just there for titillation.  Cinema-wise, there are a few really strong images, such as where the shadow of Mircalla's hand reaches out toward a victim. The shot of Peter Cushing lowering Mircalla's head back into the coffin is actually beautiful, like a painting. The actors do what they can, and they certainly have screen presence, but the script is silly.  There were two sequels to this, but I don’t want to watch them.

It has to do with how cemented he actually is as a character in the story tbh, in that sure the story could exist without him but it wouldn’t be the same nor would it be as interesting because he is the mystery, he is the horrors presented in the show from the get go and he’s so perfectly designed to be Wednesday’s Love Interest that it makes me start clapping with excitement.

There’s also how in the narrative he’s one of the characters with the most emotional depth given to the audience even if people wanna deny it, especially in how he has emotional depth that doesn’t start or end with his interactions with Wednesday but in the interactions he has with his dad and his own world and how on a first watch he is kind of bland as a character but then the reveal happens and you realise OH that blandness is a facade both to the audience and the characters in the show, one that is capable of being fallen for, especially since Millar, Gough and Burton have done his deal in other projects they’ve all had hands in.

It’s how he- along with Bianca & Enid -is honestly one of the most developed characters in the show because of how baked into the plot he is, how baked into the world he is and the interesting concepts that can be found within him.

But most of all I like him because this is a character who can be used to showcase how to help someone heal after they’ve gone through unspeakable traumas, how you can take him and go “Okay, now this is where we start moving.” In the same sort of vibe as like, the redeemable characters in Kids’ cartoons and family shows, he’s a Discord (MLP), he’s a Han Solo (Star Wars), he’s a Carmilla Karnstein (Carmilla Webseries), he’e a Selina Kyle (Batman), he’s a Jason Todd (Also Batman).

He can be seen so easily interacting and finding common ground with other characters as well as Wednesday, he meets her where she is and that’s personally why I think he’s A Good Character and the beginnings of an Excellent love interest if the slow burn route is taken (which I highly suspect it will be, as he and Wednesday’s morality can be very matched up).

TLDR: He compels me as a writer because he’s the first actually interesting teen love interest in FOREVER

One of the most charming qualities of the “little webseries that could” was the way fans could interact with the show and characters in real time. This project intends to recreate the magic and allow Carmilla fans new and old to experience the series the way we did when it first premiered eight years ago. Just a short drabble of Carmilla and Danny after season one.

Danny draped her arms over the balcony railing as she stared up at the night sky, her thoughts lost amongst the stars. She lifted her face to the breeze, feeling it's cool touch across the bare patches of her skin. She sighed and closed her eyes. Danny often found herself on top of the astronomy tower in the middle of the night. More now than ever.

She always came to the tower because it was the best place on campus to see the stars. Who would have thought? But it was here where Danny found solace. She couldn't quite explain it, but there was something about seeing the dark void speckled with bright stars that comforted her. It didn't matter what was troubling her, tracing out the constellations with her eyes always seemed to ease her anxiety.

Tonight though, Danny didn't know what it was that drew her to the tower. She just knew she needed to be here. She kept staring intently at the vast sky above her, tracing the lines from one star to another. There was Ursa Major, Canis Major, Gemini, Leo, Perseus, Hydra, Vir-

“What are you looking at there Xena?” The voice caused Danny to jump, ripping her from her thoughts and bringing her back down to Earth. She spun around seeing someone she never expected to be alone with. Only one person on the Earth called her Xena, and that was Carmilla Karnstein.

Seeing Carmilla’s face filled Danny with bitterness and venom, especially since she came up to the tower to be alone.

“None of your business, Fangface,” Danny spat, turning her back to Carmilla and focusing on the stars. Her jaw clenched when she heard light footsteps and a soft sigh.

“You don't have to get so snippy-”

“What are you even doing up here? Why are you talking to me?” Danny snapped, looking down at her. Carmilla shrugged.

“I'm a creature of the night, Xena. I've seen you out here a lot and I guess I was just...curious.”

“Well, curiosity killed the cat,” Danny mumbled, casting her eyes back up to the night sky.

“Yes, but satisfaction brought it back. Now what's going on with you?” Carmilla pressed, leaning against the railing, staring up at her. Danny sighed.

“One, I came out here to be alone. Two, why do care? I thought you didn't like me.”

“I never actually said I didn't like you, I just don't always enjoy your presence.” Carmilla scoffed.

“Then why are you here?” Danny snapped, glaring at her.

“Because, Xena, you look miserable when you come out here.”

“I come out here because I'm miserable.” Danny sighed.  “The stars…they help me work through things,” Danny admitted. She looked at Carmilla, growing uncomfortable in her intense gaze.

“What?” Carmilla shrugged.

“Nothing. I'm just surprised, it doesn't seem like a you thing. I never pegged you as a star kid.” Danny turned back to the edge.

“Yeah, well, I didn't really expect you to care,” Danny grumbled. She closed her eyes tight, trying to ignore Carmilla. But it was impossible to block her out.

“Despite what you think, I'm not heartless,” Carmilla snorted, still staring up at her. “So what's your problem?”

Danny sighed and hung her head. There was no use ignoring her, since she seemed very insistent on sticking around.

“Since you seem so determined to talk to me, I don't know what it is. I just…I needed some kind of solace,” Danny confessed, looking up and confiding in the stars again. Her eyes traced out Ursa Major, the faint outline of Ursa Minor-

“So you look at the stars. Why?” Carmilla questioned. Danny’s shoulders dropped and she rolled her eyes.

“Because I've always found comfort in them. It's just so easy to forget everything,” Danny explained. “When I was younger I always wanted to just get lost in the stars, see new planets, just be anywhere but here.”

There was a silence that fell between them and along with Carmilla’s unrelenting gaze, made Danny fidget uncomfortably.

“Christ, Xena I didn't think you'd get so sappy on me.”  

Danny turned to Carmilla, annoyed with the fact that she had just opened up to the one person she could barely tolerate, to have her throw it back in her face.

“Seriously? I just-”

“Easy there, Fido. I was just messing around with you,” Carmilla laughed. “I get it.”

Danny sighed and leaned back against the railing, unsure of what to say to her.

“You would have loved how the sky looked when I was still human. No overly large buildings obstructing your view, no light pollution to dull the stars,” Carmilla said, in a voice she had only heard her use around Laura. Danny was impressed to say the least. But she had just opened up to her. Draco, Canis Minor, Hercules, Libra…

“I wanna go to the moon eventually,” Danny mused, resting her chin on her hand.

“I'll take you one day.”

The silence that fell between them was something new and welcoming, no longer uncomfortable. Danny's heart fluttered with excitement and a small smile graced her lips.

“Yeah… I'd like that.”
