usually he was someone who was on time to all of his classes, but he had been preoccupied with other things . . . like planning for his trip to hogsmeade that saturday. he was rushing to get to his least favourite study, defense against the dark arts, when he was stuck behind a large crowd of other students heading to their own classes. it seemed inevitable that he wouldn’t make it to the room in time, & so his shoulders slumped as he was defeated. he was terrified, of course, to get detention. he’d never received it before, he was tempted to go back to his room pretending to be sick. & if anyone saw him in the corridor, they would be able to see that the boy was conflicted.
