unempowered/normal life au, when I say blasphemy I MEAN IT, mostly feelings and plot (fuck i can't believe i've done this) but there's some smut in this bitch for sure, theology student! repressed gay Lasko x gender and sexuality studies! genderfluid! (gender as in fuck you, but sexual) Gavin, internalized homophobia,

Okay. Picture this: Lexi and I get on a fucking wild hare tangent about Lasko's flavor of repression being the ultimate combo of Catholic Guilt x Southern Bible Belt. I was like ooh what if we got a little fucky with it and came up with Gavin/Lasko. I blinked and suddenly there was a whole plot. How does this happen?

The highlights:

Gavin and Lasko are at the same school, paired on a group project for a general education credit - it starts rocky but they end up as friends and Gavin stops pushing Lasko's boundaries as they get closer and tries to respect that Lasko is so deep in the closet he's never seen sunlight

Direct quote from wip notes: "Despite all of these theology classes he [Lasko] has nothing but respect and care for Gavin and his lifestyle (read: being a genderqueer bisexual whore)"

Lasko's gay awakening is when Gavin tells Lasko that Jesus is trans (this is a whole other can of worms), and Lasko realizes he's not straight

After time he realizes he's not just sexually attracted to Gavin, but romantically as well. They start dating. it's wholesome - but Lasko is realizing that he's dedicated his college years to theology so he wouldn't have to go on arranged dates his mom kept trying to set him up with to get married (to a woman) and he's not sure what to do with his life now. But it's fine (it's not but he's in therapy and weighing his options) they're cute and adorable and have wholesome little dates.

UNTIL IT ISN'T. there's a planned scene for some real blasphemous stuff that would make some people lose their lunch. It's hot >:3

🌻 (what makes you want to give up on writing and what makes you keep going): honestly, the two biggest things that get me down in writing are real life and wild urges to delete everything I’ve ever written. As I always remind everyone, I’m a hag (almost 26!) who’s married, owns a house, unfortunately does have a full time job etc. The last year especially was an awful writing year because my husband and I started trying to have a kid and subsequently found out we are basically fully unable to have kids naturally. I was way too obsessed with that process to write.

Deciding to take an indefinite break from trying has REALLY made me get into writing again. I feel much more free, though still have bad/sad days about it. I also have a bit of imposter syndrome, so sometimes I want to delete all my stuff off the face of the earth and disappear forever.

My awesome friends I’ve made in stonathan nation are huge motivators to keep me going (like Lexi ;)) and coming back! I have a few friends I’ve met through this that I talk to every day. I also just really care about the stories I’ve started and do want to finish them, regardless of when. I’d rather take long breaks for a result I’m proud of than just rush stuff out.

💌 (what’s something you’re excited about in a WIP): feeling really good about wrapping up Telepathic Desert in a chapter or two, but sad too! TEHOHDiverse is very special to me and I like being able to retreat there. But it won’t be fully over when TD ends.

I’m also really excited about two totally unrelated WIPs, one a multi chapter and one a one shot companion to piece to an older stonathan fic of mine. I’m fully engaged in stonathan again at the moment, so they’re my primary focus lol. But these fics have some good ensemble scenes/interactions with other characters that I’m pretty excited about.

❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?: I answered one here but, another one that I'm particularly proud of because of the catharsis of taking personal experiences and projecting them onto blorbos:

Eddie watches the stars again, watches them wink in and out, and thinks about how light travels through time, not space, and how it’s taken thousands of lightyears for the flickering stars above him now to reach him. By the time Eddie sees them, many have already burned out. The stars he’s watching now could very well be dead. Maybe that’s why none of the wishes he’d made here have come true.  [x]

The concept of the story is very simple bc I won't make the reader famous/model/popular but simple person with normal living get caught the actor's eye and falls in love! I know the genre is quite hard but the simplicity and creativity is very important for the concept! Do pls noted that my writing grammar is still learning

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

1. I feel awesome about comments and feedback even criticism because it honestly helps me a lot (unless it’s not constructive or specific and someone just tells me I suck. Lol. Like what do I suck at? Plz tell me so I can improve!🤔😅)

2. My mom found out I wrote fanfics in the worst way possible. By reading a one off smutty sequence I wrote in my notes app that was the Joker x Lottie (in earlier versions of that fic). She found out cause apparently iCloud sharing was on and it popped up on her phone… 😭🫣💀 She was like…. Well she didn’t SAY anything. But I could tell by her face she was horrified. A: because it was also her finding out I have a thing for the Joker… B: because she didn’t know I wrote such smutty content. But yeah! My nonbinary sibling has always known. Because we used to exchange stories and fanfics we wrote with eachother as kids. And my brother is blissfully ignorant. My friend Lexi and my grandma read my original work as well as my fanfics. I have the coolest grandma. She’s Catholic but she’s totally onboard for murderers and smut in my writing!

3. Common things I incorporate in my fics: lots of very descriptive expressions and settings. I like my locations to have a personality of their own. And lots of questionable actions… murder, gore, maiming, etc. oh! And hallucinations (I incorporate those mainly cause I have had personal experiences with that 🤫😎). Weapon of choice I like to include used to be a noose also known as a punjab lasso. But these days it is a hard tie between a knife and a gun.
