because i am stuck in my childhood i am here to provide some twisted wonderland characters as soviet cartoon characters

adeuce and riddle: трио из винни пуха (vinnie the pooh trio)

it's literally in this order the personalities fit everything is perfect

trey: мойдодыр (moydodyr)

you can't tell me that this isn't the same character just different fonts

malleus: маленький мамонтёнок (tiny mammoth)

the story fits malleus pretty good tbh. the little mammoth (malleus) is motherless so he is sent on a tiny piece of ice slab to find a mom and he finds one in a form of an elephant (lilia)

one could find more but these are my personal childhood favorite characters so i didnt really need to rewatch anything so this will have to do for now

Darling!!! I feel the great need to express my gratitude for your hard work! It has been very important to me, and the topics it touches on are close to my own story. I was born in Russia and had to leave my country, so now live in Georgia, separated from many of my loved ones. But it is not a sad story, I would say. 'Whales need someone to celebrate Christmas with too'. In my dad's case, there are no whales, of course. Maybe cats count as whales? They are almost just as big!.. Filled with love, I guess. Love and tuna. The last chapters I read together with a friend who stayed abroad to finish his studies. I translated them from English to Russian, happily picking up the expressions that I think you had in mind when creating the comic. It was a pleasant thing to do! I mean it! I feel a great attraction to the style. I remember my grandmother and I used to read books designed in a similar way. Айболит, Мойдодыр (sorry, wanted to keep the names the way I remembered them), Robbin Bobin Barabek and many, many others. Their covers were falling off, they smelled of glue and dust, but they were so close to my heart and soul! Together we glued their pages and carefully read them again until my grandmother would fall asleep and I would continue reading on my own. So, once again, we read the last chapters together with my friend who is not as fluent in reading English - and it reminded me of how we used to read with my grandmother. Even though me and my friend were physically apart during this reading, I felt a lovely closeness from the activity that was previously forgotten. Together we waited for new chapters to come out - and they came out so, so often! We both admired your hard work, the tenderness and beauty of your plots, the charm of your references, your mastery of language. The story left a lot of warmth in my chest that I now so desperately need. And thank you for this, Vetochka. P.S.: Мне было так забавно осознать, что значение имени Мак не является очевидным для большинства окружающих. Наверно, если бы мне пришлось не просто переводить для друга, но адаптировать полноценно, я развернула бы ситуацию - и Мак звали бы Поппи. И лишь потом бы выяснилось, что это и значит "мак". Просто чтобы сохранить искренность и чистоту этого цветочного имени, хранящего свою цветочность в тайне от тех, кто не способен оказаться близок.

Спасибо ещё раз, милая веточка. Неважно, какой финал будет у истории - сама история была безумно для меня ценна. Кусочек дома, кусочек детства. Окошко в тот мир, где всё было хорошо.

P.P.S.: Надеюсь, через это окошко не нанесёт снега. Вероятно, стоит послать какую-нибудь летучую мышку, чтобы проверила, хотя здесь, в Грузии, снег не идёт - вероятно, мой мир в безопасности. Крепко обнимаю. Hugs and kisses.

Hello to you! 🧡 I completely understand your feelings; I also have to live far away and celebrate Christmas with whales (or cats. But I dream of seeing a real whale!). So, this bittersweet feeling is very familiar to me. But I’m happy that my story was able to comfort you at least a little and give you such wonderful memories, ones that are also very familiar and so, so warm to me.

Korney Chukovsky - The no-water boy (Mr Washstand)

Перевод сказки Корнея Чуковского "Мойдодыр" на английский язык

The quilt

Ran away!

Away flew the sheet!

And the pillow,

Like a frog,

Leaped down the street!

I reached for the light –

The light, too,

Took flight!

And my book

‘Bout Dick Ned

Shuddered,

And sped

Way under my bed!

I went to pour some tea –

But the samovar

Fled from me!

It dashed

Down the hall,

Potbelly and all!

What was wrong?!

What was the matter?!

Why did all things

Run and scatter?!

Whirling,

Turning in the air,

As if wishing

I weren’t there!

All things rose

From the floor

To somersault

Out the door!

Suddenly,

From the Mommy’s room

With a grimp, grumble

And boom!

Bowlegged and lame,

Mr Washstand came!

And he scolded as he came:

“Oh, you unwashed

Little pig!

In what dirt

Did you dig?!

“The filth on you

Is inches deep

You look...

A chimneysweep!

“Little kittens,

Ducklings, mice,

Even flies!

Wash themselves

As best they can,

Having neither

Soap or pan!

“Only you hate

To wash –

In water never splash!

That’s why

Your socks and shoes,

Ran from you

With hoots and boos!

“I, Mighty Washstand

You now command

In this lake

A bath take!”

The water was frigid,

Cold as ice!

I was out of there

In a trice!

I ran and ran

Till I reached

The tub,

There to rub, rub,

And scrub!

Soap clung to my hair,

Suds filled my eyes.

Did that soap care?!

And like a wasp

The sponge

Did sting!

More salty tears

To my eyes bring!

To get away from that

Mean old sponge

Into the ocean

I meant to plunge;

But it would not

Let me be –

Everywhere it followed me!

And I quickly jumped a rail

With the sponge

Right on my tail!

On the way I met

Kind Uncle Croc,

With his twins

Out for a walk.

On his right

Was Totosha,

On his left

Was Kokosha.

“Help! Help! Uncle Crocodile!

Save me! At least for a while!”

And that mean sponge

By whom I was followed,

Like a pea, Croc swallowed!

Uncle then stared at me,

Stamped his foot, and glared at me:

“Home! At once!” he cried.

“Wash your face and hands!” he cried.

“If you don’t!

I’ll swallow YOU!”

Like a lightning I went,

To the Mighty Washstand,

And I washed,

And I rubbed,

And I washed,

And I scrubbed!

Till off came the polish,

Off came the ink,

My face was, at last,

Spotless and pink!

And, behold!

Back came the pants,

Leaping right into my hands!

A pie through the air!

“Eat me, pal – down the hatch!”

The pie went down,

Without a scratch!

My things returned

In a gay band,

Each shaking me

By the hand:

Objects small,

Objects big –

As my schoolbooks

Danced a jig!

Then Mighty Washstand

Ran to me,

Hugged me,

Kissed me,

And said as he smiled:

“Now you look a decent child!”

So, let’s wash!

Let’s splash!

Let’s swim and dive,

Look clean,

Look alive!

Let’s wash,

Let’s splash

In water hot,

In water cool,

In washtub, bathtub,

Ocean or pool!
