I'm interested in how widespread this is, so; if you're from a non-english speaking country, reblog this and tell me(in the tags or otherwise idc) :
- do you notice a significant amount of people in the younger generations(like. younger millennials, gen z) slipping into fully speaking english during a conversation?
- do you and the people you know tend to forget words in your own language, but remember the english word for what you're trying to say?
- do you notice a lot of new words being borrowed from English, but specifically for things that already have a term in your own language?
- how often do you find yourself thinking in english?
I'm no researcher so like, this isn't meant to be a Survey™️, I just wanna hear other people share their experiences and thoughts on this. Personally I think this is most common with people who spend a significant amount of time online and isn't like, some big crisis where ooooh nooo, all the languages are dissappearing~! but it is a bit like. hmmmm :/// I noticed all of these kind of a lot in my environment and tbh I don't like it.
