Currently considering the level of trauma that Rosa suffered in her early childhood, and a really weird headcanon(?) that my brain came up with. Specifically, her trauma pertaining to Beatrice and her siblings.

Then weird kind-of parallels between Beatrice’s incident and the destruction of her stuffed rabbit, Uu-tan, at the hands of Rudolf.

Spoilers for Banquet of the Golden Witch (Ep3 of Umineko) below.

Starting point was wondering if Uu-tan was ripped up before or after the incident. I think it was before, since she looks younger in the manga panels of Twilight, and mentions fearing the witch of the forest, but I’m not sure? In the manga, beat up as poor Uu-tan seems, I think Rosa did try to fix them, though.

I'll try my best to be somewhat coherent. Going back to 1967 for this.

Rosa…literally saw this girl she’d just met, a girl who was noticeably naive and had little concept of danger, just a little bit older than her, literally plummet over thirty feet to her death.

The lines in the VN make it clear, too, that Rosa ran down to ask if Beatrice was alright. That she stayed by Beatrice’s side for a while, shaking her corpse and trying to get her to react, all the while watching as blood and brain matter seeped from the elder girl’s broken skull and wouldn’t stop.

Beatrice died with her eyes open, too - so Rosa would have been staring down at the unfaltering literal death stare of a young woman she had literally just been speaking to, and trying to get her to move and react to see if she was okay.

The manga panels of Beatrice’s body after the fall were horrifying to look at, the first time I saw them. It makes sense, considering just how far she fell, but - imagine a child seeing that? Especially the way her fingers were bent?

I...am not going to put a photo of Beatrice's body here, solely for peace of my own mind.

Rosa was in middle school at the time. At the youngest, she could have been 12. The eldest she could have been was 15. Her birthday falls in June, but I don’t think we’re ever given any indication when in the year the incident happened.

My really morbid thought was that, maybe Rosa grew more dependent on her toys - especially Uu-tan - due to the trauma of witnessing Beatrice’s death (this is probably more likely if Uu-tan had been ripped up after the incident, but my line of thought is that Rosa still clung to them some time after trying to repair them).

It’s noted multiple times throughout the VN, especially in Turn, that there is a sizable age difference between Rosa and her elder siblings. They didn’t get along with Rosa, because she was so young and additionally, their own trauma and aspirations - if anything, they took their trauma and abuse out on her.

Krauss used to take her toys as punishment for things she didn’t remember doing, Eva would lie and trick her, and Rudolf would do both but make it ten times worse for Rosa, because Krauss and Eva were just as awful to him, and he could take it on on Rosa. And this is just the simplified rundown of the situation, doesn’t even touch on the full complexity of the layers of abuse and trauma that eventually are brought to bear their weight on Rosa’s shoulders.

On top of being unable to reach out to her elder siblings, Rosa lives and is brought up on an isolated island. She likely went to school off-island and made friends there, but it’s a known fact that Rokkenjima could be a difficult island to reach, despite its small size, even if a small amount of wind picked up.

Rosa has no close neighbors, no easy way of conversing with friends from school or visiting their houses. The closest she might have had for companions were the servants hired to work in the mansion.

This is what, similarly to her daughter Maria in the next generation, led Rosa to be reliant on the toys she owned for friends and company. Namely, her stuffed rabbit Uu-tan.

I’m not exactly sure about the scenario, but I think that Rosa only ever mentioned what happened to Genji - and that was to tell him about Beatrice’s fall. I think she was even told not to mention it to anyone else?

She couldn’t talk to her siblings about it, definitely couldn’t talk to her parents about it, so who else did she have to turn to, but her stuffed animals and dolls?

In the manga, Uu-tan literally had their head and arm ripped straight off by Rudolf. Their stomach was also torn open. It's some hardcore gore, even for a plushie. Which is my brain must have tied then to Beatrice.

In Twilight of the Golden Witch, when Rosa and Maria are hiding in Rosa's old room, Rosa actually finds Uu-tan on accident - and this is what I meant when I mentioned it looked like someone had tried to put them back together. Uu-tan's arm and head were reconnected to the body, and the stomach sewn up a little bit. Badly, as stuffing was still leaking out, some several decades later - but someone had tried to fix Uu-tan. They even had a little bandage around a leg,

My first morbid line of thought was that if Uu-tan had been ripped apart after Beatrice's death, it would have been made ten times worse by the fact that Rosa had already seen another person die from brutal head trauma, and something like seeing Uu-tan's head getting ripped off just made me think about Beatrice's fall.

If Uu-tan was ripped apart beforehand, and Rosa had tried to sew them back together, I imagined the comparison of Uu-tan's damaged body - despite the best repair efforts - and the leaking stuffing to the appearance of Beatrice's corpse post-fall.

The imagery is stuck in my brain, I swear. don't know if this makes much sense, but my brain won't drop it, so I decided to post about it. Literally has no bearing on the actual story, except for additional trauma for Rosa which...isn't good for anybody.

I'd call this self-indulgent rambling, but really this is just very morbid thoughts rambling which came to haunt me at one in the morning.

Neon White parents Headcanons (some cute some random)/j

Green and Violet's parents:They're fucking orphans LMAO

Yellow's parents:Were actually attentive and caring, and always made the best out of their situation. His dad(mazie) worked at a dump and fixed up cars for extra cash. His mom(mango)made candles with 2 other friends, as well as working at a grocery store. Mango would always try to spend as much time as possible with her kids due to her fragile health, and would always try to stay optimistic for her family. Mazie can't spend as much time with the kids, but every Sunday, he always takes them to the park to play around and make them sandwiches.

Blue's Parents:His mom(Azure), while very caring, would often zone out from time to time, as well as try to get validation from people to a dangerous extent(gambling with her savings and dipping into her kids as well). His father(Marian) was a Vietnam vet, often putting his kids on the ringer due to his refusal to deal with his own issues, as well as being harder on Blue to toughen up and earn the family inheritance (drug empire) Blue has a sister, though their relationship is...strained to say the least.

Red's parents:Her dad(Chili) liked to spend money on useless shit, often putting more stress on her mom(Scarlett). Chili and Scarlett had a lot of siblings, so Red always had to take care of her younger cousins while the adults got drunk(bro bro developed elder sister syndrome AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN SIBLINGS LMAO). Chili was the one to stay at home, so he was slightly closer to Red. Scarlett didn't not like her kid but also didn't really make time for Red. After Red came out as Trans, both her parents treated her differently. Her father would make comments about losing his son, and how he didn't recognize the girl standing before him. Her mom would make passive-aggressive comments about what a "real woman" goes through/experiences and would say snide shit about Red's looks and feminity.

White's Parents:Their mom(Powder) and dad(Platinum) were very abusive, physically and emotionally. Platinum worked long and exhausting hours, often coming home late tired, and bitter. Powder is the one who pushes him to work these hours and yet complains about him not being home. Powder was the one mainly White saw, but she also neglected to take care of their needs. White would have a "fend for yourself" meal every day, and even when their mom cooked, it was too little for the three of them. Their parents' love story is that of Beatrice and Butterscotch from Bojack Horsemen, and their marriage is the same. Also, pushing ~☆gender stereotypes on little White☆~ made them panic badly when they realized their Trans.

Nox parent's:Gem demons(name will change) aren't born sexually, so they often adopt young gems that just came out. Nox's caretaker, Volkan (a garnet), adopted Nox to take their place in the army. They were heavily damaged and become disabled, but unlike other gems who took it in pride, she was ashamed of it. She lashed it out at Nox, who internalized this and other.....lessons Volkan gave. Manipulation and dissociation are all their relationship is for Nox, and for Volkan, it's nothing but a means for climbing higher.

Purdence's parents:Never around, always working and trying to sell their kids.

Rene's parents:They were too young to know who they were before they died.

Horatio- either mtnb he/they OR everybody’s token cis friend (Non-binary Horatio makes for 1. a beautiful t4t couple/throuple if Ophelia is here too and 2. a fun story about Horatio’s gender crisis upon meeting Hamlet. this is where'd i'd link the damn asks about those kids if i could find them i've been burning through my archive for a damn half hour now & nada basically bennie's got a couple posts to their name they're a paige richard kid in a paige richard endgame if memory serves they have dominion over the elements genderqueer i can't remember what sex they were assigned at birth if they were amab then they're full name is benjamin but if they were afab their full legal name is bennie they're named after richard's late father. raise by paige and richard even though richard's powers has been stripped he still teaches his kid what he knows of magic but specifically only to good parts because he does want to kind of. scrub the dark magic out of the montana line. i have a personal headcanon that the reason richard is so bonkers is that his parents dosed him with the blood of a greater being at birth, giving him that dr williamson in astral monkey you get the powers but you go fuckin crazzzy effect which is still present in bennie, though diluted. they're a big fan of plants and you know healing herbs potion making but it takes a lot less magic out of them so it's a safer practice. bel and bea come from a specific au where it's actually a paige henry au where paige meets henry either while she's pregnant or after she's already had kyle's kid whose name is isabel and it's like a thing where like. the elders really restrict kyle from you know engaging with them and kyle actually for a decent amount of time didn't know he had a kid until henry's like wait he's not like dead dead? like you can still talk to him? doesn't he want to meet his kid? and kyle's you know kyle's well call a spade a spade he's very emotionally constipated but he has like some tender moments with bel i think he and henry have a heart to heart paige and henry have a kid together name beatrice and kyle like you know he's never necessarily physically present (he might be an elder?? i can't remember. i think he is in the comics) but he continues to watch over them and he'll like you know. always leave a gift for them on their birthday or xmas he like. he genuinely cares for these kids. So!!

13. How do they greet the world — what is their typical attitude towards life? How does it differ in different circumstances, or towards different subjects? Why do they take these attitudes, and why do they change? How do these tend to be expressed?

so i think bennie greets the world in a very open way you know paige is very outgoing bold and flavorful and that does rub off on them but that's not exactly how they are. i think they're relatively confident in the idea of the grand design and that some things are meant to be i think that was probably a relatively large part of their childhood so the way they come off is just like incredibly zen i think like you know even if like coffee has spilled all over them and they've locked their keys in their cars they're just sitting there waiting for triple a like this is fine. i am going to learn a lesson for them. i think richard, what with all his crazy, really worked to teach bennie you know healthy coping mechanisms they definitely do tai chi together they'll meditate with phoebe like they just have his wicked calm energy about them like even at the club like they know how to cut loose they're dance laugh have fun they don't drink for the most part given a familial history of addiction on both sides i'd imagine but they're not 100% sober. they're very conscious about it it's something you can easily tell. that being said, they can definitely get nervous and clam up in situations they believe to be high stakes for example they're very queer so in a situation where they feel judged there are usually two possible reactions depending on how safe they feel. if they are for example in their own home and like idk some coworker or something is over and makes some kind of offcolor comment about their hair or painted nails or crepe skirt over workboots they're gonna kind go really in on that aggressively in on that try to make the other person squirm like oh i'm sorry do you not like feeling like you're under a microscope? do you not like having the harsh judging eyes of others just scrape over your skin that's so funny i would have never guessed that considering how you were looking at me. which they definitely get from paige when richard's upset he just leaves a room like nope not doing this today picking a fight is totally paige's mo tho. the flipside though if they do not feel comfortable in this arena like the fear that if they're too loud they'll get jumped or something they'll do everything they can to blend in with the wall and in spite of their wardrobe they are shockingly good at it like there are very few people who would call bennie "meek" until they see them in a situation like this and they're like oh holy shit this is a totally different side of you. and then of course, the other agitated bennie state is when they're talking to someone they like or at the very least think they might like in which they become way too overtalkative again in kind of a paige fashion where it's a whole lot of words but kind of low substance. and this whole thing is like. like if bennie is to be totally candid, it's to scared them off. bennie does kind of view themself as damaged goods like yes they're hella zen and capable and like mom friend or whatever but like ever day it takes so much conscious effort ever day they have to work to write that narrative because if they let it all slide they'd be. fucking unlovable, probably, in their opinion. definitely has depression, obvi, probably anxiety too, addiction prone, probably adhd, maybe something more intense like bpd or bipolar disorder i don't quite know. but they definitely feel like they want to scared someone off by being too honest about their flaws rather than have the person unearth them and realize how fucking damaged they are just that slow dawning fear like oh they're Crazy crazy but now i can't leave i think bennie's really worried about that, like a lover feeling like they've been "trapped" in this relationship because they can't leave because if they do it'll wreck bennie beyond repair. so if they're really interested in somebody, they'll just like put up neon signs like i'm insane i'm fucking bonkers you do Not want to be with me! surprisingly, they do not have many relationships. they have, however, had many hookups, because when they don't care about somebody in a

romantic sense and there's this very specific energy like we'll never see each other again they'll stay in they're status quo energy i think they're probably really hot and again you can like kinda tell they're damaged but in a healed way you know like whoa this dude definitely has depression but they want to show me their greenhouse and it's full of very much alive plants so clearly they're able to take care of other living beings. you know? but again it's like if this hookup ever expresses interest of maybe taking things further bennie's porcupine bristles spring right back up like woah woah woah trust me dude that's Not what you want. but it is what some people want : ( they just won't ever let them in.

32. Do they have any “props” that are a significant part of their life, identity, activities, or self-presentation somehow? What are they, how are they used, and why are they so significant? How would these props’ absence impact them, how would they compensate, and why?

not necessarily i think they wear live flower crowns like more often that your average person because i'd say your average person almost never wears a live flower crown (as opposed to one made of fake flowers) so that could be one of them but that's kind of just more of a stylistic point i think bennie does wear a lot of jewelry a good amount of it is enchanted with one basic purpose or another but it's mainly just there to fidget with running charms along the necklace chain spinning rings around fingers clasping+unclasping bracelets if bennie doesn't have and jewelry they'd probably go a little bonkers i'd say they'd wear rings with such frequency that if they didn't have any they'd probably just wrap something around their fingers so they don't feel naked it's really the necklaces that are the most important part like if bennie reaches for their neck and there's nothing on there they're gonna get antsy going to just end up tapping on their collarbone til the get a bruise scratch at their neck til they draw blood type thing just without noticing it because it's just what they do.

18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?

so, bel's a paige/kyle kid, so they're almost like a fighting dog you know once they've suck they're teeth into something they will not let go i think they'd naturally be drawn to investigation there's this inherent need to help others but it's really just the paige/kyle determination and honestly stubbornness that really sends them over the edge i think like the best case scenario they're probably a pi both magic and mundane and run a business together with their spouse who does the books and stuff like that because bel is shit at that genuinely gets such tunnel vision that she doesn't remember she was supposed to pay the electric bill until the lights shut off her spouse is the one with the calendar all that schedules everything dates too but like. instead of just putting date? on the shared google calendar instead they'll leave little envelops around the house address to one isabel kylie matthews-lastname, will you do me the honor of accompanying me to california pizza kitchen this saturday and 8pm to which bel will always text back her reply and keep the current invitation in her purse and every time she sees it again it's kinda like she's seeing it for the first time bc again once she's latched onto somethign she almost entirely loses focus on everything else but the little notes just being her back to this genuine kinda early puppy love type feeling like it's so sappy but she's not the type to roll her eyes and be like lol this is lame but secretly love it no she like's like i love this. i love you. so yeah. that's the best case scenario worse case scenario shes still a pi but like it's a lot more jessica jones in this bitch it's fully possible that she started off as a cop of a fed and just got kicked off the force / quit becuase she cannot work as a team and she fuckin hates being controlled and she has zero successful relationships because again she gets so focused she literally doesn't have time for anyone else any it's not like people don't want to love her they do and there is that brief period when they're the thing that holds her attention when there's nothing in her world but them and then one day without warning you're just another invisible thing to her and i don't think many can sit through it. and it's definitely just a character flaw with bel because it's not like she becomes disinterested in them or loved them any less it's just she has her new focus. but from the outside, you just kinda feel like a barbie left on the furnace like you were bright and shiny and new and beautiful and all she could even want and then next thing you know your hair is singed and your face is melting and she's off doing god knows what as you burn alone. : (. which, honestly, is just the most likely version. unfortunately, and this isn't very #girlboss of me, but bel is just one of those people who needs someone else in their life who needs a tether someone to keep them rooted and i think at a certain point it'll come to pass where there will eventually come a person who bel can't lose like after everyone leaves because they always do bel kinda pretends not to care it cuts deep every time but they were convinced that she didn't love them so she must not have right she'll be fine she'll get over it but it's gotta happen (because i'm a sucker for a good romance) that eventually someone will come along and when they leave bel realizes that no actually she's not gonna do this again she's not going to take this lying down she's gonna fight she's going to get them back she's going to change and like become the person they need she's gonna tape little stick notes to the office door handle that say date tonight!!! so she doesn't fucking forget like she always does she's going to sit on the couch and just watch tv with them and not talk on and on about her current fixation (this never works, btw, she Always ends up in a very impassioned monologue, but it's okay, bc her partner loves seeing her like this) she's gonna actually put in the miles, something she's never done before. she's actually going to try to keep this relationship

alive. and i think that would kind of be her major turning point is that realizing love isn't effortless like it's something you need to work at especially if your someone like her it's remembering your partner's birthday because you know how much it means to them instead of just giving them the perfect gift a week and a half later after pulling a jake gyllenhaal in red move.

37. Have they had any special education or training that colors their means of learning about or understanding the world? Conversely, do they lack some kind of education considered essential in their world? What kind of impact has this addition or lack had on them?

hmm i mean obviously witchcraft greatly influences any of these kids lives but i think what with henry who essentially raised her being a parole officer and just kind of helping kids who have been turned astray and then of course as we saw in the show paige's strong favorability of nurture over nature i think bel kind of has this strong belief that there's no one who's truly evil and that theoretically if given the right circumstances to you know grow and heal everyone could be good. but this is coupled with the fact that she kills demons! like she does hold this belief that under the right circumstances they could be good but she kinda just takes the easy way out and kills them instead! she believes she doesn't have the facilities to help them back + the inherent structure of a demonic childhood would be a lot to undo truly a goliath task which are both like technically true but she still always just feels slightly uncomfortable killing demons. which is kinda funny because she does have such a stone cold bitch exterior and probably will use the old "telekinetically orb a crucial organ out f the body" method for killing so it really doesn't seem like a woman with remorse but!! i can't think of any major lapses in what she knows that'll greatly impact her besides the obvious doesn't know how to be in a relationship (like, any relationship) one, which is a biggie.

18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?

i think bea is a lot more listless than bel because bel always seemed to know what she wanted and what she wanted to do again bel always has this laser focus and like determination and cutthroat energy and bea has just never felt that passionate about anything? like she likes to play acoustic guitar but she doesn't want to be a musician, she likes to cook but she doesn't want to be a chef, she likes thrift shopping but she doesn't want to be one of those depop bitches like she feels like she likes a lot of things but she doesn't love much. if i had to guess, i'd say she got a job when she was in high school probably at like an occult store or something you know get that employee discount on slippery elm and like by her mid twenties she probably just still works there. like, again, she likes it fine, but is this all she wants? like is this it? she's gotta love something, right? eventually? and from an authorial standpoint i genuinely have no idea what that'd be i'd like to see her find a passion but i'm just. unsure as to what passion she would find and how to translate that into something greater. i think through the majority of her young life, she just feels unmoored. bright side is though, unlike her sister, she's great with relationships. including her relationship with her sister, who she'll frequently bring dinner for at the office because she knows if she's working on a case sometimes she'll forget to eat. that's another thing she likes. feeling useful. actually okay that might be a good path for her a halfway home for wayward witches people who have been kicked out of their homes or abandoned this that or the other and she'll teach them how to cook how to knit how to cleanse and protect a space i think that could be a good one

so, unlike bel, bea is actually henry's biological daughter, which i think just causes a slight difference neurologically because kyle is just like ten times more wired that than henry ever was. so just given that specific tidbit for contextualization i think bea's knowledge of things like the craft is just a lot more expansive that bel's. like. bea can read your tea leaves cast a protection spell brew a vanquish potion bel can write a spell to vanquish a demon in it's home lair without ever having to see it because she studied that for like. five months straight. she needs to check the book every time she brews a stun potion because that info simply does not fit in her brain. so i think bea is just a lot more well rounded given her obviously esoteric nature i think that, like bennie, she has this inherent belief that everything is meant to fall into place i think like you know she knows there's magic watching over her. i actually don't think she has any inherent psychic powers off the top of my head i'd probably give her telekinesis mimicry & deflection but she's always just kind of been in tune to energies. kyle watches over her too, and she can kind of feel whenever he's there. she talks to him sometimes. he never responds but she knows he's listening. the flipside of this is given the strong foundation and knack for the occult the foundation of basic education the american education system tried to give her umm simply did not find it nearly as compelling. like she can make things fly and you want her to find sinθ? i also think that given her more inherent witchy slant she finds it more difficult to connect with quote-unquote normal people. like the more groovy spiritual loosey goosey types are find, but there's something so inherently ethereal about her that very pragmatic people either find her annoying, weird, or dumb. which, yeah, kinda hurts, but she can take solace in the fact that she literally knows she's right like sorry i literally just vanquished a ghost last week but no look at me like i'm stupid when i say i think there's somewhere we go after we die like okay

LADY GEORGIANA CARTERET, previously Lady Georgiana Darcy, née Lady Georgiana Howard—the daughter, sister, and aunt of impecunious dukes. Left with virtually no dowry by the extravagant Howards, the proud Lady Georgiana was married as a girl to Alexander Darcy, whose respectability and multiple estates satisfied her family. She later married her cousin, the Hon. Frederick Carteret. Now twice-widowed, Lady Georgiana enjoys both fortune and pride, joining them with a good deal of practical sense and family affection.

GEORGIANA HARCOURT, previously Georgiana Carteret—the daughter of Lady Georgiana and the Hon. Frederick Carteret. She had little immediate fortune beyond that granted by her affectionate half-brother, Christopher Darcy. Milder and more romantic than either her mother or sister, she was permitted to marry a younger son of the prestigious Harcourt family, but is not devoid of her family’s pride or spirits.

BEATRICE HOWARD—a granddaughter of one of Lady Georgiana’s younger brothers. She is devoutly religious, has never married, and was left near-penniless by her parents’ deaths, which took place shortly after Lord and Lady Carrington’s marriage. They insisted on taking her into their household and she has lived as a dependent on them ever since, treated kindly by them and the Darcys, but conscious of her precarious situation in the world.

THE HONOURABLE REVEREND THOMAS STANLEY—the younger son of Lady Auckland. More authentically pleasant than his brother, he combines an easy-going nature with a dutiful and honest one, which has always endeared him to his mother’s nephew, Fitzwilliam Darcy. When a living near Pemberley fell open, Darcy offered it to Stanley, who has now spent several years at Kympton.

In practice, the children would have been largely neglected if not for the interest taken by their cousin Christopher, despite his advanced age and poor health. Cassandra, now twenty-three, retains a strong sense of responsibility for her siblings and both duty and affection towards the wider Darcy family. 

LAVINIA DARCY—Cassandra’s younger sister. Lavinia is a lively, good-natured, but obstinate girl of twenty-one. The handsomer of the sisters, she has little interest in marriage, but very much enjoys dancing, conversation, and music. GEORGIANA DARCY—the sixteen-year-old daughter of Christopher Darcy and Lady Anne Fitzwilliam. Georgiana is both, though less interested in accomplishments for accomplishments’ sake than as simply a lover of music and art. ALEXANDER DARCY—Cassandra and Lavinia’s ten-year-old brother, the heir to the bulk of their father’s wealth. Headcanon on the Goth and Crumplebottom homes in Moonlight Falls

Just downloaded Sims 3 for the sole purpose of looking into premade Sims’ houses.

Okay, the Goth home in Moonlight Falls. The master bedroom with the parlor of course belonged to Victor and Gretle Goth. The purple bedroom beside it is Frida’s, and the blue one next to it was Gunther’s.

In the upper floor, the whole ‘complex’ belonged to the dowager Goth aka Minerva Goth (a nod to The Addams Family keeping their elders in the attic), and Samuel Goth probably slept in what is now Helen Hall’s kitchen.

As for the Crumplebottoms, I was more than happy to discover the house has 5 bedrooms. Belinda’s bedroom used to be the master bedroom where Simon and Prudence slept, and Bianca’s bedroom used to be Prudence’s boudoir, and the guest bedroom was often occupied by either Cousins Robert or Elmira (if both of them stayed, Elmira would stay with Cornelia).

In the upper floor, the two bedrooms belonged to Cornelia and Agnes, with Cornelia having the bigger bedroom since Agnes was so more prone to being alone. Also, I wanted this to be a ‘girls floor’, because Beatrice, Belinda, and Bianca would all sleep in the attic above, and so Cornelia and Agnes could keep an eye on them from below.

The access from their level to the attic did not have a door, and that’s why Cassandra’s bedroom many years later didn’t have a door either, an unfortunate decision made from Cornelia’s side of the family to keep girls in line.

I would imagine the cousins being cramped together for the summer at the Crumplebottom House and as soon as Simon and Prudence left, the three sisters witched up the house that they had inherited.

The Crumplebottoms seem to me to be a respectable sort of family but they’re not a witching family, just sort of ‘eccentric’ like the Goths. Like the Halliwell sisters from Charmed, though, I pictured the three sisters had a mortal father who was Simon’s brother and their mother was a witch.

When they died/divorced, the sisters became the wards of their Uncle Simon and Auntie Prudence, and though they welcomed them, they weren’t allowed to practice magic much.

And I really LOVE the conservatory in the Crumplebottom home. I can imagine Cornelia painting there as a young girl and the girls being taught elocution there by Prudence.

Also, seeing the little entryway to the Goth home, I can imagine Gunther and Lolita sneaking in kisses there in their short marriage. And also, Victor would sleep on the armchair by the door instead of being asleep next to Gretle.

the  la  pura  pack  is  one,   if  not  thee  purest  breed  of  wolves  known  both  in  the  books  and  not.   the  translation  of  the  name  of  the  pack  being  the  pure.   this  breed  is  made  up  of  nothing  but  female  werewolves,   a  man  never  strong  enough  to  bare  the  bite.   this breed  of  wolves  go  far  back  into  history,   territorial  of  the  state  now  known  as  oregon.   normally  this  breed  of  wolves  is  non  threatening,   but  it  is  born  in  their  wolf  to  protect  what  is  theirs,   this  being  the  state  and  all  the  people  that  live  within  it.

the  wolf  gene  is  passed  down  to  every  daughter,  naturally  born  within  them,   never  needing  to  kill  or  provoke  the  wolf  to  come  out.   they  knew  what  rested  inside  of  them  ever  since  they  were  young  girls  capable  enough  to  retain  the  knowledge.   they  are  the  wolf  and  the  wolf  is  them.

the  mark  of  a  la  pura  is  always  in  the  same  spot,   the  back  of  ones  neck  and  when  old  enough  they  are  encouraged  to  have  it  covered  up.  this  is  due  to  how  rare  the  breed  is  now,    as  times  have  changed  so  has  humanity.   hunters  kill  for  sport  instead  of  simply  just  safety.   little  did  they  know  they  lived  in  the  safest  state.   some  say  the  mark  is  meant  to  be  a  halo,   others  have  their  own  theories  of  what  it’s  meant  to  be,   but  if  the  halo  fits  then  wear  it.

when  willow  was  sent  away  to  louisiana,   a  love  affair  child  unwanted,   she  was  sent  to  one  of  the  oldest  remaining  la  pura’s  of  them  all.   beatrice.   she’s  the  one  who  taught  willow  all  about  the  dying  breed,   the  pack  that  she  wasn’t  allowed  to  be  a  part  of  but  would  forever  hold  a  spot  in  due  to  the  birthmark  and  the  purest  of  wolf’s  blood  that  ran  through  her  veins.   told  to  cover  it  up  at  the  age  of  eighteen  by  the  hundreds  of  years  old  elder.   though  instead  of  completely  covering  it  up,   she  works  it  into  the  tattoo.   forever  wanting  to  remember  what  she’s  a  part  of,   where  she’s  come  from,   the  bloodline  that  runs  so  thickly  through  her  veins.
