˖ ࣪⭑ The kitchen smelled of detergent and long fingers paused in their attentive folding of the dry laundry while Susan glanced at her daughter, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Her eyes landed on the retriever as well and she softened ( she sometimes forgot that her life didn't have to be lived on a tightrope anymore ) before looking away. It was a mom's job to know things, even things that were supposed to be secrets, even if she hadn't always been a very good mom. She lifted a fresh t-shirt from the basket and began spreading it out on the ironing board, swishing the iron over it with its usual long hissing sound ; things were getting better, she was paying closer attention again. Before Max had woken up in the hospital, Susan had been certain that she was lost to her entirely. It would have been inane to be mad that her daughter was queer when she was alive. Her shoulders lifted and fell, long braid swaying with the movement, ' I have been listening to you talk about how awesome Wonder Woman was since you got your first comic. '
