never forget the falcon was so shoddily & informally put together in some places that the main computer system used slang / vulgar language, which upset threepio, who was basically like "why is this ship cussing at me"

so disney cancelled lando's spinoff show and i gotta say, after four years of silence and enduring movie rumors floating about for like 2 seconds, i'm just glad they outright confirmed the cancellation of the series. ... and yet here i am a week later, still gloomy as hell about it lol i mean, han's beloved lando (@charley!!) moved on from the swrpc years ago, but man. kinda sad i haven't seen an indie / dedicated lando blog in years??

someone instantly blocked me when I told them I'm not okay with them godmodding my muse's thoughts and feelings towards their muse. like, buddy, you can't dictate my muse. that is legit goddmodding. I don't care if that's part of your bio / muse lore. this is extremely basic rp etiquette. and it's funny because the second I had an issue with them, they started telling me they wanted to leave the community (again). okay, I'm genuinely sorry you feel that way, but if you didn't try forcing me to change my muse's thoughts & feelings towards your muse, like ... ? idk man. I have whiplash at this point. I'm so glad I have receipts out the wazoo and i know nothing I said was out of line. people are entitled and not afraid to manipulate you.

@wraekage 𝚜𝚊𝚒𝚍 :: "morning, sleepyhead.  you've been resting for a while." (anakin)
Tumblr media
𝚂𝙺𝚈𝚆𝙰𝙻𝙺𝙴𝚁’𝚂  𝙴𝚈𝙴𝚂  𝚂𝙽𝙰𝙿𝙿𝙴𝙳  𝙾𝙿𝙴𝙽 , his breath catching in his throat as he jerked upright, heart hammering in his chest.   his pulse thundered in his ears, drowning out everything else as his mind scrambled to catch up with his body.   disoriented, he scanned the still shadowy contours of the campsite.   when had he fallen asleep? the question was a blur, an afterthought.  the only thing he could recall with clarity was the hypnotic murmur of water lapping against the distant shore, the constant reminder of a planet drowning in water—a sound that only deepened his unease.
planets with an abundance of water always set him on edge, their landscapes unnervingly foreign.  the ever-present humidity clung to his skin, and the scent of brine seemed to permeate everything.  he exhaled sharply, running a hand across his face.  his cheek felt warm and numbed from pressing against his forearm, and the dull ache of his muscles reminded him how deeply he had succumbed to exhaustion.
blast it.  he hadn’t meant to pass out—especially not here, and especially not in violet’s presence.  yet, despite his irritation, a faint, traitorous clarity threaded through his thoughts: he felt rather. . . rested.
❝sleeping?❞ he scoffed, voice rough with the remnants of sleep.  he ran a hand through his hair, trying to shake off the grogginess that surely dulled his usual edge.   ❝i was—uh, meditating.❞ he waved her off with a dismissive flick of his hand, though his tone faltered slightly, betraying his attempt to feign confidence.  ❝you should try it sometime.❞

𝚂𝙾 ,  𝚃𝙷𝙴  𝚃𝙴𝙽𝙽𝙾  𝙾𝙿𝙴𝚁𝙰𝚃𝙴𝙳  𝚆𝙸𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽  𝙰  𝙵𝚁𝙰𝙼𝙴𝚆𝙾𝚁𝙺  𝙳𝙴𝙵𝙸𝙽𝙴𝙳  𝙴𝙽𝚃𝙸𝚁𝙴𝙻𝚈  𝙱𝚈  𝚂𝚄𝙱𝙹𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙸𝚅𝙴  𝙾𝙿𝙸𝙽𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 ,   which sprang from individual experiences and an arbitrary kind of goodwill that shifted depending on who happened to call the shots at the moment.  their name might conjure an image of some united force of incomprehensibly powerful beings, but from where han stood, it seemed like each one played by their own rules. and from teshin’s painstakingly careful selection of words, han figured the tenno likely fit squarely into a category he liked to call the ‘ruthlessly vindictive.’
the sort of folks who latched onto grudges like a starving razor-hound with a bone. whether you had stepped on their boots or killed their brother didn’t matter, they would file it away, simmer on it, and by the time you moved on and set the whole thing behind you, they found a way to make you pay double…  or maybe that was just first-hand experience rearing its ugly head again.
han scowled.  great.  nice to know he had potentially racked up debts with not just one, but two biomechanical constructs with enough technological firepower to wipe out entire platoons of heavily armed soldiers without so much as breaking a figurative sweat. wonderful.    just the kind of nightmarish scenario han didn’t need yet somehow always found himself neck-deep in.
not to mention, teshin hadn’t answered the question.  instead, he took a long, winding verbal road that managed to evade what han wanted most: clarity. the information about trinity stuck with him, though, even if it hadn’t been what he asked for and only served to further bewilder him.  first and foremost a healer, huh?  she’s what constituted a healer around these parts?  because han would’ve wagered trinity’s little performance was assassin droid-level expertise, or at least software engineered solely for the rigors of warfare… no healer carried themselves like that.  but sure, healer.
❝lead the way, mister uh—teshin, sir.❞    han gestured forward despite wanting to say they’d already trekked a considerable distance, and unless teshin also wanted him six feet under by the end of this nightmarish ordeal, they ought to find food and water—and fast.  he’d already done what he knew was a bad idea from the start.  sure, he wasn’t stupid enough to drink untreated river water from an alien world, no matter how crystal-clear it looked, but he had nonetheless scooped up a handful, let it slosh around in his mouth for a solid three seconds, and then promptly spat it out.  the mineral flavor hit him harder than he’d expected, but he figured it beat the hell out of instant death—or a mouthful of lethally corrosive liquid.
❝guess i’d know a thing or two about that.  poor choices,❞ the captain later added through clenched teeth, his words jagged and tight, meant to pass as casual conversation and missing the mark by several visvias as he tried, and failed, to wring out freezing river water from the shredded tunic barely clinging to his body.  ❝made more than a few bad calls in my time, stuff that came back around to bite me good.  but you learn quick when you’re young.  ’bet i don’t look it now…❞  he grimaced, picking at a muddy, frayed piece of fabric stuck to his exposed shoulder with shaking hands.  ❝but i prefer keepin’ my nose out of trouble.  ’s just that trouble’s got a funny way of findin’ me—❞
han halted mid-step, a motion so instinctive his mind raced to register that strange, swaying feeling underfoot—the same off-kilter sensation he’d felt earlier when teshin had raised a hand in that overly-calm yet precise way to hold position.  the following tremor was unmistakable, reverberating through the ground in a fast-paced rhythm too much like a drumbeat than anything natural, each distant thud pounding deep in han’s chest like a muffled hammer. the captain threw tenshin a wide-eyed glance.
whatever had caused those tremors before had returned—sans artillery fire—and han didn’t need teshin’s mystical warrior senses to know that anything capable of making the ground and the thick alien vegetation around them shake like that, wasn’t the sort of thing you wanted to cross paths with.              ❝kest,❞ han muttered under his breath before grabbing at his abdomen, his face contorting into a wince as the high-stress atmosphere combined with the gnawing hunger pangs began twisting his insides. ❝now what?❞
Trust. It felt like the wrong word, or perhaps a misinterpreted one. He forgives quite easily that this stranger did not understand the totality of the statement. Teshin could rely upon a Tenno's aid should the Lotus decide that his word is one that their actions were justified to follow, but, outside of her word and her's alone? It was a gamble to think that the Tenno and their Warframes would do anything that did not directly and immediately benefit their efforts. That, the idea of instant gratification, was something that he could trust.
Make it worth their while and they would walk headlong into a fortified barrack of Grineer soldiers despite being outnumbered, outgunned, and for nothing more than the prize at the end of their gore covered rainbow.
"Faith in their actions is heavily dependent upon which Tenno you choose to accomplish a task. Like anything, if you make a poor choice, it will come back to haunt you," he comments as if the knowledge were nothing more than common. "This Trinity, she is an expert in her field. Oftentimes sidelined she does her job and does not stray from her path. Despite the violence you saw from her, she is first and foremost, a healer."
Teshin comes to a pause and holds a hand out for Han to stop, a distant rumble in the soil disturbing the otherwise stilled waters about them. Han cannot see how the Dax now frowns. With the rising sun there were a plethora of other dangers that would accompany the warming rays; they needed to get up in the air and sometime soon if it could be helped. Teshin hadn't personally been witness to the towering metal monsters that the Grineer had so accurately designated as Thumpers, but if word of mouth meant anything, he wasn't keen on changing that.
Waiting just long enough for the distant trembling to be marked by the tell tale sign of booming artillery fire, he gestures for Han to continue onward behind him. If the machine was already occupied- likely with a Tenno assailant, then there was no better time to be on the move. All they needed was to reach the crest of a hill and his Cephalon could do the rest, but that alone possessed some inherent dangers.
Stepping further through the stream Teshin does eventually guide them towards a worn animal path at the edge of the water. He hadn't been one to wander the plains but if intuition meant anything, the signs of life meant they had found a place away from the endless violence begot by Grineer stupidity.
As they walk on the sun finally hits a crest over the hills in the distance, embracing the landscape in warm hues. They were running out of time. Teshin as the ever relentless guide he has become listens keen for any sign of Grineer patrols before taking Han up the side of a short incline. It plateaus out and puts on display the stretch of relatively flat grasslands. Out in the far distance a glimmering tower stands proud amidst the lapping waters of a gentle sea.
"Vull, mark my coordinates, keep the ship cloaked," he speaks to no one. In their basking of the sunbeams he has settled a hand upon the hilt of a twin blade, a preemptive measure. "Keep your head on a swivel, Han Solo. We are nearly to safety."
