lil drabble/loredump on Kairos's Love & Deepspace lore because i saw other moots doing it and i was inspired...

Kairos began as a physical embodiment of Astra’s will, destined to walk among His people and be His voice when speaking His gospel. Her striking golden eye was deemed that of divinity, of their God and his wishes and the reverence that was disposed upon Kairos was something a mere mortal would surely dream of. Kairos was devoted to Him in both mind and spirit, and He loved her has much as a God could love His own creation.

This devotion soon came to a standstill, as the people began to wither and the population of His beloved people dwindled more and more. This was all according to Astra’s plan, Kairos would soon find out much to her startling disgust. It seemed she loved His people more than He ever had.

Astra’s beloved wished to kill him, He knew this as He knew everything and out of sheer luck Kairos had come rather close to achieving this. The meaning of Kairos was “the right or critical moment” and Astra was now finding the irony in this name He bestowed upon her.

He found himself…angry, irritated at the prospect of being killed by a being like Kairos, so beneath Him and yet so loved by Him.

Kairos did not deserved to be loved by anyone if it wasn’t Him, and He’d make her see that.

She had many names after that day. She remembers the men she had loved so deeply and they loved so deeply in return. She remembers how swiftly their time was cut short, her heart the catalyst of it all.

Kairos remembers Astra.

It wasn’t until her life within Linkon City that Astra seems to change his mind and allows the memories of all her lives and names and loves to flow so sweetly into her head. 

The overwhelming nature of it all causes her to fall into a coma for almost three weeks.

She remembers the look of concern upon his face when she finally awoke. Her doctor, the man she could now remember through various lives, Kairos could see how sad his eyes were when he looked at her and now she knew why all of them would look at her like that.

Kairos was falling again, much too fast now that her memories were returned to her and Astra was enamored with the distress and uncertainty manifesting within the woman. 

Though something happened that was out of even Astra’s control.

Being a being with such divinity as Astra, He was very much aware of the alternate versions of Himself and subsequently the alternate worlds that exists at the same time. It seemed things clicked a little too late as one day Kairos suddenly disappeared from His gaze.

Astra had looked for her urgently, only giving in and peering through His alternate selves to finally find her completely out of his reach.

Kairos was free, but only from His Gaze. 

She knew where she was, she had appeared somewhat close to Linkon City yet now she was acutely aware that another her existed. It wasn’t the same her as her past lives, but an alternate version that was simultaneously her and not her at the same time.

Even Kairos wasn’t entirely aware of how this event even occurred, how she could’ve been carried to a world so like her own yet her “place” was already filled. She could see Her interacting with the ones Kairos herself was so fond of, but they were not hers anymore. 

If anything, this strange event seemed to have gotten Astra exactly what He wanted, if a bit unconventionally.Her blood lust was renewed and fiery in the back of His mind though, as He could feel it through their distant, barely there link. Astra knew she’d find her way back, back to Him and he wondered if she could actually be successful when that day comes.

alright here's my yap session about Kairos and her LaDS verse in particular since those are my vibes right now-

SO

i've realized that Kai's lads verse has the potential to be a little confusing so i wanted to clear that up a little and also just use this as an excuse to yap lol

ALRIGHT so basically

Kairos is the MC of an alternate universe/timeline Love & Deepspace. So NOT the MC of the game WE play. The MC that we know is a whole separate person that exists still Kai does NOT replace the MC when she is suddenly brought to the main timeline of the game, they exist at the same time and Kairos is very much AWARE of MC's existence and (unless plotted otherwise) MC has no idea of Kairos's existence.

NOW ONTO THE TOPIC OF THE MEN HAHA

Since Kairos is sort of the opposite of MC, in the sense that she has constant awareness of her pasts with the LIs, this means the opposite for Kairos' LIs as well.

HER LIs don't remember their pasts with Kairos, while SHE has to remember each of them. (Whether this is all of the LIs at once or simply remembering the past with ONE LI is up to the thread and the partner). So this leads her to be very stand off-ish with the LIs of the main game timeline. Kairos goes out of her way to try and avoid them, but this is countered by the fact that due to her being an "MC" the laws of the world are sort of tricked into making her have run-ins with them even though she is technically not THEIR mc.

This also has the interesting twist of the LIs having this uncanny feeling about Kairos (something like this can easily be discussed more in terms of plotting if wished)

Kairos IS also a hunter (this was maybe not a good idea considering xavier is RIGHT THERE but regardless) and she mostly uses guns or the staff as her main weapons depending on if she is on a mission solo or otherwise. Also yes she DOES keep her resonance evol and YES it was just a funny coincidence that she has a evol like that other woman haha yes just a coincidence is all

Since the lore is still iffy, idk if i'd want to keep her main motivation killing Astra for a bigger reason or just simply out of spite because i hate you astra lol

For right now I think she's just trying to figure out what the HELL happened and if she can even return to her universe or if there is even a universe to return to

What's the best way to get to know Kairos? Is she the type to share information about herself kind of freely or do you need to read between the lines for her?

Kairos honestly isn't super hard to get to know? Early on she'll leave out a lot of s u p e r important details about herself, but those are mostly just...secrets you wouldn't share with an acquaintance or someone you're just in the early stages of friendship with?

There are a few exceptions (i'm looking at you LaDS love interests) where she will more likely close herself off entirely but this is just a defense mechanism that she just defaults to.

She's the type (regardless of verse) to sort of dance around a question if it feels like it might dive too deep into something she'd rather not talk about in that moment, but other than that...

Basically, as long as she naturally feels comfortable with someone, she's a....moderately open book!!
