I’ve started working in a children’s center lately. It made me think of how the Valar and Maiar would react to little kids.

So, I’m curious… What’s everyone’s opinions on children?

“children?” manwë gleams before looking over to his wife who also smiles. “we adore them. elflings are always such a delight to have around.”

“definitely love playing around with them, they're so cute and so fun,” irmo gleams.

“no.” námo folds his arms. “they are afraid of me.”

“same with námo. and they're loud,” mairon rolls his eyes.

“they are such innocent, gleeful creatures. they should be protected,” pipes up ulmo.

“they are certainly a handful. but I quite enjoy when the elflings visit ilmarin — I wish they would stop falling into the pools, however,” eönwë sighs.

melkor hums for a moment, “I think —”

“no!” the others interject immediately.

Ulmo dear why aren't you married yet? Never mind, don't answer that I'll marry you myself

his cheeks become a bit more blue and a bright, somewhat sheepish, smile finds his lips. “quite brazen, aren't you? I suppose it would be a felony to deny such a lovely soul.” he takes your hand in his, kissing your knuckles.

I always find the seas and their ocean life peaceful and calming Lord Ulmo, thank you for helping this one's mind and soul

“I am pleased that someone appreciates my domain.” he smiles, gentle as ever. “the ocean is indeed a magnificent place. would you like a seashell?”

Um....dear Ulmo, I...I have a dream. A wish if you will. I always wondered how it would feel if I were able to walk or even dance on water surface. Is there any way to... make it happen? I know it's not something that would help anybody...it's just...something I always wanted to try. Hope I'm not bothering you?

gentle hands take yours and it feels as though a tender wave is washing over your skin as he smiles down at you with shining eyes. “how about I show you, dear?” ulmo hums before pulling you to the water so that your feet grace the surface but never sink. “eyes on me, alright?” he leads you further, hands taking yours as they would for ballroom dancing.
