"Hope this helps with your work. <3" They finally turn to sneak away, but this time, their luck runs out as they make a little noise.

the maia's ears perk at the sound and his head whips to your direction. a look of irritation fills his features at the prospect of being interrupted whilst he is busy with his work.

“what is it? don't you know b —” the shimmering gemstones catch his attention and he once overs the trinkets along with the letter.

it takes him a moment before his brows furrow and he clears his throat as his ears droop in the slightest. “so, it was you who has been leaving all of these. . . materials around.” mairon clears his throat, unsure of how to react as he turns back to his work. “don't expect anything in return. if anything. . . I'm amazed at how you would waste your time on something like this — let alone for me.”

he's reprimanded by an intentional cough from the side and turns to notice his lieutenant who seems unimpressed by his comment. “I will take the tea. do not listen to him.”

golden eyes shoot you a glare and his brows narrow at your boldness. mairon parts his lips to reprimand you yet falls silent. he gazes upon your tired form before turning away. with a click of his fingers the candles douse themselves and he retreats beneath the covers.

mairon, let’s say you have a child. she is a very powerful being who returns to the world after centuries, but instead of helping you in your schemes, she helps the fellowship in destroying the one ring. how do you react?

“well then, she is no child of mine. simple.” mairon shrugs his shoulders. “if she actively thwarts me then she will be considered the enemy as well.”

I’ve started working in a children’s center lately. It made me think of how the Valar and Maiar would react to little kids.

“definitely love playing around with them, they're so cute and so fun,” irmo gleams.

“they are such innocent, gleeful creatures. they should be protected,” pipes up ulmo.

“they are certainly a handful. but I quite enjoy when the elflings visit ilmarin — I wish they would stop falling into the pools, however,” eönwë sighs.

melkor hums for a moment, “I think —”

“no!” the others interject immediately.

the maia snatches your wrist and yanks you in with a clear look of frustratin painted all over his face. his free hand grabs your chin and forces your eyes upon him. “what you are going to do is clean off this mess," he hisses. “and then I'll decide your punishment.”

it is then that you feel a pair of strong arms wrap around you from behind and warm lips against your neck. “I believe they are, my lord.” croons mairon against your ear.

mairon glances over at you, folding his arms across his chest almost as though he had to think about it. but he soon exhales, dramatically, and sits down. “yes I suppose since you asked so nicely, I cannot refuse you.” he tries to hide his smile.
