i can think of a couple.

anon hate, as if we're not all adults here, to name one. the complete and utter lack of respect some people show toward other writers is just ??? it's nuts. another thing is activism within the rpc and the advent of twitter-esque dog-piling when someone doesn't get their way - most i've found either have good intentions and just get it wrong (sokay, we all learn) or are sort of using x cause as an excuse to bully and isolate people as if that's ever been okay or appropriate (bad faith; the 'cause' is a smokescreen that makes the person getting harassed look bad for defending themselves, which i don't and never have vibed with; i spent a lot of time in discourse circles and people who do this don't actually have any convictions, they're just being dicks because they know they can be and get asspats after). people who take things too personally too, because at the end of the day, this is a hobby and we're all human. we can't all talk to each other all day every day, it's just not feasible, and if it takes a week or more for someone to get back to you, it's most likely the exact opposite of intentional. i forget everything all the time, my notifications don't always work on tumblr or discord, there isn't enough time in the day in the first place, and like some i have children and am married, i'm severely time blind (i thought it was still februrary until last week) or otherwise have 800 different things to do at any given time. a lack of communication, at least from me, isn't ever personal, and i'd wager it's about the same for other folks too. sometimes i need to be reminded or nudged and i don't mind that as long as its respectful. yaddayadda.

also it's weird to me that just a couple of days or a couple of weeks of not talking or writing is enough for some people to unfollow, break off/drop roleplays, or whathaveyou. it's just...weird, to me. it shows an unwillingness to understand that someone else's life doesn't revolve around roleplay, and also impatience. i would understand maybe a month or so, but not anything before. my rp besties and i regularly take a few days, sometimes a few weeks to respond to each other's messages and there's no bad blood there. on this front, this is exactly why i'm as laid back as i am - take as long as you need to, i'm not going anywhere.

i have some probably unpopular opinions too, not just pet peeves, but i'll save those for another day. like if someone writes, idk, noncon, i'm probably not going to jump down their throat because a) i don't know them, b) i don't know why they're writing it, c) i probably never will, and d) i'm probably not seeing it on dash anyway since i block and filter tags. when i said this is a judgment free zone, i really meant it. it's not my place and i don't care anyway. write whatever you want? be it to cope or explore something difficult so you can understand it or something else so you can have fun. because i will, even if that's really just complicated romance with a fantasy backdrop. write whatever wish fulfillment and escapist nonsense you wanna write too, while we're here, because genuinely i'm tired of that being seen as a bad thing also. we've all written something someone hates for one reason or another, whether it be unrealistic or 'disgusting', so really all you can do is keep truckin' cos you can't please everyone and it's pointless to even try.

I feel like I'm a little dated and maybe out'ing just how insane I am. I started rping on a fucking warrior cats rp forum site? Like long form wait to check if people replied write one and wait a day or two for another response and sometimes get threads drowned cuz other ones are more active

7. is there a muse you played on more platforms or in different moments of your life?

I've only really had one or two recurring muses, but ofc they're ocs because that's how I role. Even as I've grown and changed what I write, I've sort of evolved them into being about to work with whatever world or vibe I've been doing. The biggest -and oldest- oc that fits this is my girl Alois who was the first character I ever brought to tumblr and she was originally a fucking horror based oc and now she's inspired by Magneto from X-Men

30. what are your favorite RP tropes to play? (angst, hurt-comfort, etc…) [this one was also asked by @duelmarks so ur getting tagged in this answer oop]

I am a huge sucker for hurt-comfort there is something that scratches my brain immensely when it comes to getting to write on the like- fine line of angst and fluff and I find something so beautiful about getting to write out moments like that and seeing how they further the relationship between characters and their understanding of each other through their vulnerabilities !

When it comes to planning threads: I like to wing it completely | I like to plan the start of the thread | I like to plan several key points in the thread | I like to plan every reply | It depends - in the way that i like to plan some beats depending on if we talk about it or not, but i do love to just see where we take each other a lot of the time. i am always down for very specifically planned stories though, especially ships and AUs Pre-established relationships between muses: I enjoy them | I like them occasionally but mostly prefer to play the relationship out | I don't do pre-established relationships When it comes to replies, I like to: Keep mine short (1-2 paragraphs) | Keep mine to medium length | Keep my replies long (10+ paragraphs) | It depends - I do a lot of one-liner funny things for quick activity, but that doesn't mean I'll be upset if someone decides to make it serious, or extends the length. I try my hardest to match length if I can, but I do tend to stay in the 3-6 paragraph range most of the time. I generally try to reply in: 1 day | 3 days | A week | Within a month | More than a month - this is mostly because of the nature of one, a multimuse, but also the fact that i am the most active during my work shifts.

I also don't think that writing out NSFT/NSFW is necessary, but I will indulge if I'm comfortable with the mun. My favorite tropes are: Mostly relationship tropes, though not romantic/qp exclusive ones. Give me people who would die for each other, give me the two touch starved people yearning for comfort, give me rivals, and oscillating relationships. I also really like family dynamics, and enemies. PLEASE give me the Antagonist and Protagonist who cant function without each other. GOD - Opinion on shipping (for a specific character or in general): Shipping doesn't just have to be romance. I really want to do more threads of interactions and relationships that may be more like how I experience my own attraction as a aroaceflux/quoiromantic person. But I am a sucker for a good ship that has good chemistry. PLEASE please please come to me with your queerplatonic and romantic ship ideas. [ grabby hands ] I get inspired to write by doing this: When it comes to Canons, it's usually through indulging in the source material ( game/manga/anime/etc ), but for OCs it tends to be the sort of " what would __ do in X situation" talks with friends or writing drabbles like I do with Rubel. FINAL FANTASY MUNDAY MEME! || Accepting

Hmmm. It's hard to rank them but I will try.

Fray & Sidurgu (FF14): I'm cheating immediately and lumping together my Dark Knight class husbands because I can. Also heavily influenced by @aethericsea's interpretations, but whatever. For Fray, I love a slight-obsessed-with-you dark side vaugely self-cesty ghost that scolds you when you don't take care of yourself. The Dark Knight quests are so healing for the WoL. It is the closest thing you get to actual therapy. Leading into my adoration for Sidurgu -- he is just a good guy. Does he fuck up? Yes. I love me some guys who fuck up and try to do better. He also has such faith in the WoL and such empathy for them. Like when you go back post-EW and check in, he's like "wow that sounds unbelievable but it's you so I understand." I'll tag Rielle in here as well, because I just love her story as well, and how she changes from a quiet, traumatized child into a sassy apple-eating healer who calls Sidurgu a chocobo's arse. I have so many feelings about the DRK fam you guys.

Garnet (FF9): Garnet/Dagger, my girl! Was I biased because she was the closest FF protag lass who looked like me? Yes. Am I still biased for that reason? Yes. But also, again (as I'll say 100x below), I adored her journey. I loved her dedication to her people, I loved her Mulan moment, I enjoyed her learning to be more formal through Zidane. I loved that she fucking drugged everyone's food and jumped from a tower and enjoyed the hell out of it. She's just so much fun even though I don't believe she would have worn a bodysuit THAT TIGHT. Praying every day for a FF9 remake announcement.

Zidane (FF9): Sorry Thancred, you were knocked out of the Top 3 by the original flirty blond rogue. FF7 was my first Final Fantasy, but 9 was the one I fell in love with. I appreciated Zidane's more upbeat and scrappy attitude, and of course, he was far from perfect (i.e flirting with the girl in the bar and then fucking up and mentioning it to Garnet) and had his whole questioning his existing thing. He's just really fun, damn it.

Thancred (FF14): Thancred is a fucking mess. I am partially biased towards him because of @aethericsea's interpretation, but a lot of it pulls from canon anyway. Again, I adore his growth and the journey he takes, his relationship with Minfilia, his struggles with what's obviously depression with a hint of alcoholism, and the fact that despite getting the cool animations, he still gets clowned on.

Alphinaud (FF14): Alphinaud barely has the step above Alisaie in this ranking, and only because of his shift from ARR into Heavensward. Alphinaud changes from a bratty snoot who sends WoL around like a living weapon to truly loving them like family. He is so mature and respectful and I love it when he sees his earlier mistakes in others.

Alisaie (FF14): Alisaie's growth is more subtle than Alphinaud's, but I love the balance she brings. She feels like a genuine teenager more than Alphinaud does sometimes and I adore her vulnerability. I also love her calling the villains out, even if it makes me panic from time to time for her safety.

Tataru (FF14): Tataru is such a supportive friend to the WoL and just an excellent 'run the house while you adventure' NPC. I am SO glad they play into her boss babe entrepreneur mentality as the story proceeds.

Cloud (FF7/7R): I respect the impact FFVII had on gaming. The original 7 was the first Final Fantasy I ever played and what inspired me to want to be a game designer! Plus, like Noctis, I appreciate Cloud being 100% done with everyone. Sadly, never beat 7. I beat 7R though!

Rikku (FFX/X-2): Again, didn't play a lot of X and it has been like 20 years since I played X-2, but I adore her. What a girl's girl.

Noctis (FFXV): The only reason Noctis is down at #10 is because I haven't played FFXV personally, but I've seen clips with him via @starrymused and I appreciate his attitude. Someone just let the man fish and not be a protagonist.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

The Basics

No godmodding. This means you’re not allowed to dictate how my characters react/respond to anything, your characters cannot know everything/all the secrets about my characters without a good reason (such as being told this information by my characters, another character who knows, getting my permission in OOC chat), assume a major development between my characters and yours, or have your character successfully nail every attack they make against mine and-or dodging/blocking every attack my characters make against yours.

Any starter memes found under the “prompts” tag are always open for acceptance, no matter how old they may be. If it’s been more than 24 hours since their initial posting though please send them with a reminder about what meme they’re attached to so I can refresh myself on the context of the meme and its potential settings.

Communicate with me if there are any issues or confusions about something. I am sincerely open to talking things out, despite how socially withdrawn I am.

Muses =/= Mun; The character thoughts/opinions are not the writer’s thoughts/opinions.

Be patient for replies. This is not a primary muse for me, I run a couple of other RP blogs, work a full time job, and have other hobbies as well as responsibilities to attend to. Some replies may be thrown into the queue system to grant myself time and space to do those other things. The Finer Points

Fights, Darker Themes, and Plotting

If we haven’t plotted for our muses to engage in combat or any sort of abusive scenario then please ask if it’s alright to shift gears towards that kind of scene first. I am open to writing any kind of violent scene but generally terrible at writing action, and very picky about what abusive themes I’ll engage with, so please don’t surprise me with either of the two.

Potentially violent scenarios don’t have to be a fully detailed disclosure either. It could be as simple as, “X wants to punch Y” and if I’m okay with it I’ll say “Palpatine voice: Dew it.” Then, we can begin discussing/plotting how the fight will go.

Truthfully speaking as well, I have very little combat writing experience so please have patience with my reply timing and be aware that I’ll most likely ask a lot of questions to make sure I’m understanding things correctly. I’m pretty much a newbie when it comes to this theme and I have trouble picturing written action, which makes it difficult for me to understand what’s going on.

If you do not have the patience for this though that’s okay too. We can handwave the scene to an agreed ending and move on our with our lives, no problem.

Certain forms of abuse and toxic personality traits are a major turn off for my muse, due to personal reasons that can be loosely boiled down to PTSD. So if I say no to something - whether it’s a plot or an entire muse - please respect that boundary. I will not write themes with:

Alternate individuals may be recognizable and follow similar dynamics, but no one is the individual he knows personally without some prior OOC discussions.

☼ How long do you stay mad? I don't stay mad, but I never forget a slight (and I only selectively forgive). My brain functions in a sense of anger is unproductive and I recognize it, so I eventually enter a state of indifference for my own mental sake. But when I do, it's irreversible; I don't come back from that. Indifference means that I have lost any and all emotional investment in the person in question for one reason or another, which means I've stopped caring. No one outside of two family members, have come back from that. Thing is though, it takes a long time and a lot of effort for someone to push me towards it, and I've been told I'm usually too patient, let people get away with too much, but I think it's because the ultimate outcome is as rooted in permanence as it is.

☀ What’s your rp pet peeve? For my first answer... Hmm, I'm gonna go with ignoring established canon foundations for the sake of an OC. Listen, guys, all characters started as OCs at some point— do you think the writers at HYV woke up one day, employed there as if by some invokation of magic, with an audience of fans already at their heels? No, they all started somewhere, Zhongli, Venti, Diluc, Furina, and all the others, they were all OCs, and they technically still are. We just call them canons now because HYV's original work is 'established' within and by their audience, but they all remain original. Any way, I digress: the lore around them took a lot of effort to create and then tie so many other characters into consistently without ruining anything. And I love to write in that, so when someone comes in with a wrecking ball the size of Mt. Everest, I'm really not very motivated. I won't care about your character's AU or anything, if you decide to overpower, ignore or entirely swap up the game's established setting and timeline because you deem it 'better' or whatever descriptor you want to use.

The second... How we all choose to RP, which means that we actively decide to engage in writing with other people, and yet the levels of communication are absolutely outright abysmal. I understand social anxiety, I understand being shy, but if you want to do something that requires social interaction, then you need to socially interact. And if you don't want to do that, then do it the old-school way, respond to asks/memes and talk in the tags or something, instead of trying to place the entire responsibility with others. Now to add to that however, I also want to note that words have meaning. If you communicate with people and you say A, then mean A, and don't end up swapping to Z because you weren't honest about A but didn't quite dare to tell the person that. Communication is so much easier than people make it out to be.

Favourite Movie: again my tastes have not changed since I was a teenager - donnie darko! I love all things spooky and surreal

Do You Have Pets: yes! I have 7 guinea pigs! a pair of boys called kooky and kelpie, then a group of 5 with 1 neutered boy called merlin, and 4 girls called boo, ripley, pixie and nifty (yes, she is named after our favourite roach killer - spelt different cuz I prefer just one f!). I absolutely adore them 🥺

Favourite Animal: take a guess lol (it's guinea pigs, but I also love capybaras aka guinea bigs)

Do You Play Any Instruments: I sing and I play guitar and bass!

I don't enjoy writing: slice of life, fluff, short-form/rapid-fire rps, sweet wholesome romances with no conflict or wider storyline, Canon x OC romances, improv threads with no OOC communication

My favourite tropes are: redemption arcs, corruption arcs, power struggles, found family, childhood friends to enemies, enemies to lovers, fake relationships, mutual pining, enemies forced to work together

Opinion on shipping (for a specific character or in general): Anyone can ship whatever they want and write whatever they want, I don't care lol. Romance isn't one of my primary interests when it comes to RPing, but if a character dynamic has interesting potential, and someone proposes a compelling plot idea, I'll give a ship a go

I get inspired to write by doing this: listening to music, reading, watching TV, playing video games, discussing headcanons and AU ideas OOC

One of my favourite threads/drabbles/etc:

This thread from Game Of Diplomacy AU* remains to be one of my favourite things I've ever written. It has a high stakes power struggle with tension you can cut with a knife, it has angst and conflict with counterbalancing moments of levity, it is deliciously dark and the clever verbal sparring challenged me in a really refreshing way, keeping me on my toes. I think it contains some of my best writing to date.

*This AU gained a surprisingly big following - it even has its own fanart! Years later my writing partner and I still get occasional asks about it/people still go on like sprees through the threads, which is really sweet. I am forever mindblown and deeply touched that so many people have enjoyed this random niche rarepair story my partner and I wrote for fun.

I'm also very proud of this Arcane rp thread, which sparked off a whole AU that my writing partner and I are still actively developing and enjoying two years later.

A writing partner (or partners!) I've enjoyed writing with: shoutout to @f1shbonez for writing with me for ten years, across four different platforms and over 12 different fandoms. You are the best damn writing partner I've ever had, a true unicorn, a plotting genius, a master wordsmith with razor wit - I have grown so much a writer and as a person because of you. We have created so many incredible stories together that I cherish and reread to this day, and I look forward to all the new stories we will create together 💜

A mutual I want to write with but haven't yet: if we're mutuals, suffice to say that I like your writing style and I'm open to writing with you.

I'm not always the best at getting the ball rolling at the beginning (and sometimes I do forget to reply to messages 🙈 please don't think it's you, I just get too embarrassed to reply after I realise I left it too long, I'm so sorry 💀)
