Rya waited in silence - the worst that could come wouldn't be anything she had experienced before - shattering a new connection by trusting too soon, she may come to blame herself for being so hastily trusting. Again.
By shape, she was exactly like the serpent soldiers serving the Serpent King after lord Rykard's human soldiers fled. But while they had neutral brownish hides and eyes - hers were vibrant of color: red with a hint of gold should light make the scales shine.
Those piercing green eyes gazed again quickly as the silence lingered. She wouldn't want to be in the way... Her hold of the stick got tighter... tighter... Under her lower hand, it snapped with a tiny sound. Quickly, adjusting the shortened stick to be supported by her both hands.
When he spoke, his gaze unchanged, it had her clearly relax in relief. That tail, rest now flat behind her back.
"I do..." The serpent's head nodded slightly forward. Her voice as clear as it was, despite minimal movements her huge mouth could make. "My mother always told me I was born with a blessing, of our great king... part of a great bloodline."
But not how she thought she would be, not of grace, but of ritual with old roots the sheltered lady found... hideous.
The hold around the stick tightened again, but just for a second. "I am afraid I have to question a lot of things, should I desire a truth. People are so cruel out here..."
... Morgott understood her plight all too well.
The people of Leyndell knew the Grace-Given Lord as a reclusive sort, never venturing forth from the palace. In the eyes of the people, he had asserted himself as king after Queen Marika’s disappearance; but he had been a fair, reasonable ruler.
But they did not know who he was - or what he was.... Were the people of Leyndell to discover Morgott's true nature, there would be panic. Panic, and more.
The Golden Order frowned upon omens. And there were many who would see Morgott's blood shed.
He made sure to allow Rya some space. Her form changed soon enough, the image of the young girl fading away; and in it's place, he beheld...
... A serpent. One of the ones who dwelled within the Volcan Manor.
Margit was silent. As he ever was. But true to his word, his gaze carried no judgement.
"... Dost thou find comfort in this form?" He asked.
