|| SO I am dumb and have now decided to give Joshua a sort of role-swap verse.... So here’s verse info for an au where he and Neku are swapped!!

Neku and Joshua already have similar views about humanity at the start of the game, which is why Joshua picked Neku as his proxy. It’s just that Joshua has a flippant view of humanity, not caring one way or another about what happens, while Neku expresses his opposition through anger it seems. SO swapping them would be really interesting bc their views will remain but be different, you know? Neku would be even more uncaring towards the human race, while Joshua is a bit more unsure and comes to want to protect people.

Joshua started his first game with the intention of becoming the Composer bc of Mr. H’s hints, but in this au, he doesn’t know ANYTHING. He’s still pretty much a genius, but he doesn’t have the control that he usually has anymore. He acts very flippantly about his situation, but you can tell that he’s unnerved. He doesn’t want to die, after all. 

When Rhyme “dies”, it really gets to Joshua because it proves to him that nothing is permanent. He’s very wealthy and gets everything he wants from that money or by manipulation, but he couldn’t save Rhyme. He doesn’t know how to handle it and how much it scares him, so he acts like he isn’t bothered in the slightest, which makes him look like such a dick. 

I need to figure out more things, but I think this would be a really fun way to explore who he is at his core.?? If he was given the same opportunities Neku was given, he would turn out differently. By the time Neo comes around, he would still be flippant and tease others, but there is clear care that comes in his words. He actually helps the others and puts other people before himself. I think it would be SO interesting to look into this growth???

|| little thought about Joshua’s GENUINE laugh…… it is EXTREMELY rare since most of the time he’ll just chuckle at the stupidity or failing of others, but if someone manages to say something he genuinely finds funny and catches him off guard….he will laugh~

AND ITS LIKE THE BEST LAUGH EVER XDD this kind of bell-like laugh that isn’t messy nor controlled, just genuine and amused. It’s a laugh that would surprise whoever makes him so humored bc??? Joshua can ACTUALLY LAUGH??? And it sounds so pretty???

|| Shoka has VERY basic cooking skills. She hasn’t really needed to eat in four years, so instant ramen is her best friend. sho usually bakes for them…. BUT she’s learning~

Joshua doesn’t cook and doesn’t care to learn. Why should he? He isn’t human, and cooking is such a boring task~

Kira CAN cook but only out of necessity. She had to know how to cook when she was younger, but she doesn’t ENJOY it like some people do. She can make pretty nice dishes. The only issue is that her cooking skills are limited to English dishes, so she doesn’t really know anything about Japanese cuisine. Aaaaaand back to the instant ramen we go~ XDD

|| Alright, so Haz and Josh seem to have an interesting relationship.?? Like in that cutscene, Joshua seems pretty condescending… Like “what do you say for yourself?” and “what have you learned?” and that kind of stuff. Plus, Haz mentions that he was just following in Joshua’s footsteps or something along those lines.??

That makes me think that two things may be true. One of them is that maybe Joshua once mentored Haz.?? Maybe not REALLY, like he never held his hand throughout becoming a composer or whatever, but maybe was some sort of rolemodel Haz was trying to follow. That also makes me wonder just how many newer composers look up to Joshua like that.?? How many has he kinda mentored???

The other thing is his age. Before neo, I headcanoned Joshua to maybe be 200 years old, which is roughly the founding of Shibuyu (over, but still roughly around that). However…this makes me wonder if he’s even older than that? Maybe by a LOT..?? Now I’m possibly looking at a thousand years old, maybe even more.?? I still headcanon that he was pretty much always with Hanekoma throughout his time as composer, but what if he was in places other than Shibuya.?? How many cities has he erased before being moved here?? I know that composers usually just become angels after their cities get erased, but maybe he was just relocated?? And how many times has he been moved to a new city??

He still killed the previous composer and took their place, but WHEN??? no idea…..there is SO MUCH MORE to this man than we know…………

|| it’s pretty hard to ship with josh, actually… Not really CRACK shipping since he’d flirt with a toaster if given the chance, but for him to ACTUALLY develop feelings for you.?? It takes long of time and patience~ And someone willing to put up with his shit.!!

Another thing is just someone that interests him for whatever reason. Shipping him with Neku is easy bc he DEFINITELY is interested in him, just because Neku has piqued his interest three years ago and is still doing interesting things three years later. You have to be out of his ordinary, or else he won’t notice you.!!
