It was a rare sunny afternoon at Night Raven College, and the first-years had taken the opportunity to relax together in the courtyard. Yuu, Ace, Deuce, Jack, and Epel sat in a loose circle on the grass, sharing snacks and chatting about everything and nothing. Grim lounged nearby, munching on a piece of tuna and occasionally chiming in with his usual brand of snarky commentary.

As the conversation meandered from upcoming exams to Jack’s latest workout routine, Yuu found herself watching Deuce as he earnestly described an incident where he’d helped an elderly student carry books to the library. His face lit up with pride, his usual awkwardness melting away as he spoke.

And that’s when it hit her.

The sheer, overwhelming cuteness of Deuce’s sincerity and earnestness made something in Yuu’s brain short-circuit. It was like a primal instinct—the kind that made people want to squish baby cheeks or hug fluffy animals until they couldn’t breathe. But Yuu, caught off guard by the intensity of her feelings, acted without thinking.

She leaned over, gently grabbed Deuce’s arm, and playfully—barely—nibbled on it.

The entire group froze.

Deuce stopped mid-sentence, his eyes widening as his brain tried to process what had just happened. Ace, ever the opportunist, burst out laughing so hard he nearly fell over. “WHAT WAS THAT, PREFECT?! Did you just bite Deuce?!”

“I-I didn’t mean to!” Yuu stammered, her face flushing crimson as she realized what she’d done. “It’s… it’s cuteness aggression! He was being too adorable, and I couldn’t help it!”

Deuce, still red-faced, looked down at his arm as if expecting to find teeth marks. “C-Cute?” he echoed, his voice cracking slightly.

“Yeah, Deucey,” Ace wheezed, wiping tears from his eyes. “You’re just so cute that Yuu wanted to eat you up! Literal cannibalism!”

“It wasn’t like that!” Yuu protested, burying her face in her hands. “I didn’t even bite hard! It’s just… a thing some people do when something is overwhelmingly cute. I swear, it’s normal!”

“Is it?” Jack asked, his brow furrowed in confusion. “I’ve never heard of it before.”

Epel, who had been watching the chaos unfold with wide eyes, finally spoke up. “I’ve heard of it,” he said hesitantly. “It’s like when you see a kitten and want to squish it, but you don’t actually hurt it. It’s… kind of weird, though.”

“Weird doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Ace said, grinning like a Cheshire cat. “Yuu, you might’ve just scarred Deuce for life.”

Deuce, his face still a deep shade of red, finally found his voice. “I-I’m not scarred! It… it was just unexpected, that’s all. And, uh, thanks? I guess?”

“You’re welcome?” Yuu said weakly, wishing the ground would swallow her whole.

Jack sighed, shaking his head. “You’re all strange, you know that?”

“Says the guy who’d probably bite back if someone tried it on him,” Ace teased, earning a glare from Jack.

As the group slowly dissolved into laughter and banter, Yuu couldn’t help but smile despite her embarrassment. Sure, it was awkward, but at least Deuce didn’t seem too upset. And if nothing else, she’d certainly made the afternoon memorable.

The First Years got into an alchemy accident when cleaning the lab, some stuff got spilled on Ortho and a huge smoke envelopes the entire room.

Yuu opens the windows, coughing, "Is everyone alright?"

"I think, but I don't think Ortho is!" Deuce yelled as he fans the remaining smoke out using wind magic.

"Where is he!?"

"MYAH! What is that!?"

Yuu looks down, and see a disc-shaped device on the floor, making whirring noises, and is sucking on Grim's tail.

"A roomba?"

The roomba turns towards Yuu, and in a younger yet familiar voice greeted them, "Hello!"

"... Ortho!!?"

"How is he a roomba!?" Yuu yelled, shoving the vacuum bot towards Idia's face.

Idia gently puts the roomba-I mean, his brother on the floor, the robot happily eating the dust on the floor, "Don't ask me, what was the thing that spilled on him?"

"... It was a youth potion..."

"Wait, this shouldn't be possible-he didn't even start out as a mini robot or anything,"

"Well it shouldn't even be possible for him to be affected either, isn't he supposed to be magic proof?"

"Yeah, but I don't think I've made him immune to potion effects... Gotta update the design later," Idia mumbles out.

"Okay, before you go give Ortho a makeover, shouldn't you help me find a way to return him back to normal?"

"I can do that. Maybe contact Vil and find a sample of the potion- wait. Where's Ortho?"

The two looked around and realized that Idia's room was ajar. Then, a loud scream rang out throughout the hallways of Ignihyde.

"Who gave a roomba a knife!?"

"Ah, Hades. He's upgraded to Stabby now," Idia lamented.

(Later...)

"No, gimme!"

Idia sighed as he holds the tantruming, talking vacuum in his hand and a knife in another, "No, Ortho. Big knives aren't for small robots like you,"

"Gimme a small knife?"

"No,"
