@scribedhorror continued from here
Of course IT hadn’t truly expected him to come willingly. Why would he? Nobility was all very well and good when you were a child. Nothing could make more sense than sacrificing yourself for your friends. But Billy was older now, he had a wife, a career, dreams. Dying just wasn’t an option anymore. There was no room for nightmares and horrors.
But IT was here. IT was real and IT would not be denied. Not a second time. If Bill would not offer himself. Then IT would simply take.
“Ohhhh Billy. Don’t you want to see Georgie? He misses you. You could see him again. You could apologise for letting him die.”

“You didn’t kill me last time. What makes you think you can do it now that you’re old?” The shine was still bright in them all but it was different now. It wasn’t so easily accessed, they had never been trained, they fumbled in the dark, seeking knowledge, using a ritual only ever meant to bind IT in place. How could they kill that which wasn’t truly physical? Would they seek to snuff out IT’s deadlights? Oh but they would go mad, they would die if they tried. There was no way to defeat IT that would result in IT’s utter destruction. The physical might be ripped apart, but everything that made IT Itself would linger. IT could rebuild, IT would go on.
But a threat could not go unanswered and now IT drew closer, uncoiling Itself from a crouch to tower above the human. Oh but this vessel was fun, a midpoint between what IT truly was and the disguise IT forced Itself into. The manipulation of flesh and bone was easier in a form that was already somewhat warped. When all IT’s presences were stripped away, it was hard to believe that IT could have ever passed as human. Surely no human could growl like that? The low throaty snarl of a beast on the brink of madness, undercut by the rasping hiss of IT’s many teeth.
“Oh Eddie..” IT crooned at him, rotten sweetness in IT’s tone like decaying toffee. “One of you is already gone. What makes you think the rest of you will survive? At least Stan had the sense to ditch. You’ve all been studying hard and for what? Summer’s over, you’re not a kid anymore. You hardly stood a chance then and you’re so very afraid.”
IT took a step closer, beginning to stretch IT’s mouth wide in readiness to bite. Somehow though, IT’s voice still echoed.
“You know the worst part, Eds? No one’s going to remember you. At least your friends did something with their lives. You’re going to die alone and forgotten. Not even a footnote in history. Here lies Eddie Kaspbrak. He lived, he died, and no one cared. Why don’t you make it easy for everyone and take yourself off the board right now? Go on Eds, do it for B-Billy boy.”
At the absolute jab, one which Eddie would even barter to say was homophobic, Eddie felt his right eye twitch and his palms clench. That was something else that had always driven him mad about this clown - it somehow sometimes seemed to know more about them than even they knew themselves. He would never forget facing the leper that day beneath the porch of Neibolt. It wasn't just the leper that had haunted him, but what the leper had said to him. I'll blow you for a dime.
That was before Eddie had even understood anything, but looking back now, IT had been taunting him, he was sure of it. Taunting him with a truth that had been Eddie's truest fear. Not the illness, but the fear of being sick inside. Different. Losing his friends, his loved ones, because they couldn't accept that he was sick and twisted, and that he would be the death of them with one touch. IT even saying that had sent his anxiety-ridden brain spiraling down a rabbit hole, and it was only the mention of Georgie that snapped him out of it.
"Yeah, well, seems like you fucked with the wrong brother. And his friends." Eddie huffed out, feeling a pang of hurt as well. Bill, being his best friend since forever, had suffered so greatly because of this monster. Georgie had almost seemed like a sibling to him as well, when Eddie had never had one. Even if it weren't for Bill leading them into this, he was positive that he and the rest of the Losers would never let this slide. "Seems like that was your biggest mistake. Because now you're going to die for it."

@grimmusings liked this for a starter
One by one they all came back, in the end the call had been too strong to resist. IT had known Mike would summon them. How could he not? Goody two shoes that he always had been. Oh he'd been very busy over the years, so much researching, keeping watch while the others went on to success and fortune. A comedian, a fashion designer, a risk analyst, an author, a financial advisor and an architect. Would they feel guilty about the man they left behind? All that weight, all that strain, the singular burden of remembering when they were able to run away and forget. It couldn't have been all roses of course, some traces of IT remained in each of them, poisoning them in some small ways. But to know that they had experienced some joy when they had hurt IT so badly? How they would suffer.
Truth be told, IT had never turned IT's attention on Ben as IT had the others. Why would IT? He hadn't been as strong as the others, hadn't posed the greatest threat. He had been an easy target, a meal IT had planned on savouring. All that meat would have made for a hearty meal. The man IT saw now had changed drastically, tall and lean, far more muscle than fat. How disappointing. It almost didn't seem worth the effort of killing him, he was so far below IT's notice even now when he could finally pose something of a threat. Would that be insulting or a relief? Who could say? None but Ben himself and IT had no plans to reveal Itself, not quite yet anyway.
IT followed him instead, weaving through the crowds to keep him within IT's eyeline. It wasn't exactly necessary, weak through this form was, IT's senses were IT's own. IT could have followed him by scent alone in a crowd of thousands. Keeping him in IT's sights felt safer... Not that IT thought he was dangerous, not at all. None of the losers were. But it was simply better to keep all of them under observation. At least until It could figure out what they were planning.
IT would kill them all, and they would die screaming.
#grimmusings#{verse} welcome to derry#hiya! i hope this is okay#I tailored this to Ben but if you'd like one for another muse let me know~

name: terry bellefleur age: 35+ sexual preference: open minded occupation: retired military, jack of all trades, construction worker faceclaim: todd lowe fandom: true blood
name: elon "eli" spengler (canon but HEAVILY developed damn near oc) age: 35+ / verse dependent sexual preference: demisexual occupation: professor of microbiology and abnormal psychology and brain studies at columbia university, extremely hesitant paranormal researcher, inventor, scientist, environmentalist, wastebuster, former researcher at the cdc. faceclaim: jeff goldblum fandom: ghostbusters notes: my favorite movie of all time. elon is a canon but never truly expanded on twin brother of egon spengler. i'm making them fraternal. elon or eli as he prefers to be called in honor of his grandfather is an absolute paranormal magnent and the reason why egon became so fascinated with the paranormal (and a means of researching it) to begin with. in spite of what was told to their parents and the outside world.
eli was plagued with visits, whispers, dreams and sights of the dead. something he feared, hated and was terrified of. not only because of the nature of what he was seeing and his age. but how their scientifically minded parents and family would view his claims. eli did not go egon's route of understanding. instead. he went the opposite trying to rationalize his fears, visions and hauntings in hopes of the problem 'ceasing to exist'. where one was an outcast (egon), eli was viewed as conforming to the spengler mindframe and fit in with his family.
a guilt he carries now as all his willful ignorance and blind eyes never truly worked (the ghosts? nightmares? everything is still there) and with egon dead? has only worsened. it's with the arrival of an anonymous letter warning him of what is about to pass in new york city than the reclusive spengler has made himself known and extremely reluctantly involved with his brother's former teammates. all of egon's inventions. those that exist and never were are inside of his mind. his brother's research, thoughts, ideas? it's all there. he's just never told anyone.. and who knows what he's willing to give up?

hello darling jestie, I wish I could give you book recs but the last few months I have almost exclusively been reading so called "spicy" romance books and idk if thats ur vibe. I kept buying a romance book bc of the premise (being queer or disabled romance) and finding out its explicit but overall enjoying the story and buying the rest of the series and now I just have to admit that spring 2024 was an era of nsfw reads for me. Yes, it is so lovely that we have things in common I will go check out ur bookmarks & fics. I havent read any fics for derry girls or awae before & my interaction with the awae fandom has been next to nothing so im very curious what the vibes are like. What aspects of canon the fandom really holds tight. My grandmother IS adorable. Shes also doing quite well for her age; she could beat me in a race any day. She's currently away, I think going north to visit some friends, and she wont be back before the end of the month but should she call I'll tell her my new friend on the internet who likes awae says "big hello". I'm sure she'll appreciate it. And same I would rather chat with her than watch tv but I would also really like to see her reactions to the show, idk how to start a book club with my grandmother that isnt a book and is actually tv. thank you for the safe travel wishes I will keep them in my pocket as I go. I hope today is treating you well <3 love, eating show anon
hello sweets! it's been a while! i hope you've been enjoying your hot girl (amend as you identify) books spring. rarely have i been surprised by a book which goes to show all my books have excellent blurbs, i suppose.
please do let me know which fics you like, i would love to squeal over them with you!!! i am not super well versed in derry girls but for awae, most of the fandom is quite liberal with canon — there is definitely a group who is familiar with the books and such but additions like bash etc. are warmly welcomed. i think college-era awae fics may fare well too. just a gut feel on that.
hope your grandmother is enjoying herself up north! is it cold at this time of the year? i think we are just entering proper spring weather here which is unconscionable really, it's nearly june. i wonder if you or your grandmother have read many of books from the full anne of green gables series? i've read up until rilla of ingleside and they were definitely childhood staples.
have a lovely day anon, till your next secret note x

Review: MilkMaid Merchant’s debut indie single ‘Friends’ offers a dreamy respite from the chaos of the world, reflecting on the isolation of adulthood
Multi-Instrumentalist Derry Creaney just began his own solo music endeavours, now known to the world as MilkMaid Merchant, an indie project that draws inspiration from artists like Mac Demarco and Vacations. With past work as a music technician for Rock legends Nazarath, Mercury Award Nominees Glasvegas & Scottish Newcomers Shambolics, Derry might be fresh on his own path but he’s certainly got the talent to back it up.
Debuting his first ever single under MilkMaid Merchant, Derry delivers an easy-going offering in the form of ‘Friends.’ Sure to put you at an instant ease, the haze of sound quickly embraces you as you press play, a soft and secure bundle of honest thought tied to gentle instrumental notes. From slowly thudding drums to a bright, relaxed electric guitar riff and at the heart, deep intermittent bass twangs, ‘Friends’ begins to unwind through your headphones as the retreat you didn’t know you needed. Derry’s vocals soon accompany the opening verse with a similar sense of repose, lightly unwinding through a range that sits suitably lulled with a few moments of fleeting higher nods to match the dreamy atmosphere.
Offering a respite from the chaotic nature of the world, the simplistic sounds and sincere lines push forward together, an entwined performance that’s just as comforting as a much-needed embrace from someone you love. Picking up only lightly for the choruses shift, ‘Friends’ adds backing vocal ooh’s and distant but enchanting synth bursts, all the while the other instruments raise just a little louder into focus. The pre-established sense of relief isn’t lost though, maintaining that staple laid-back energy that’s infectious in the best way.
Stepping aside from the whimsical sound, ‘Friends’ carries through it a message that’s a little weightier, centred around experiences of isolation and the feeling of not belonging. From the opening line ‘I live my life on the sidelines’, Derry establishes that he’s a bit of an outsider looking in, always yearning to be a part of something but never welcomed into anything. As he continues to admit that he’s ‘locked up all alone, with nobody to hold’ , there’s a definite sense of both self-pity and longing for company, feeling so miserably alone yet incapable of changing that. The fear of losing time and making no progress is equally prominent, trapped in the same rooms with the same dreary routine: ‘clock is laughing is my face.’
The chorus quite heartily changes perspective though, beaming ‘that’s okay ‘cause I’m with you’, with Derry pulling himself out of the rut he’s fallen within, allowing himself the realisation that there are people who care. As we all journey further into adulthood, so much of ‘Friends’ cannot help but resonate in its realities of growing older. Finding that those around us are often too busy with work and daily chores to pour the energy they want into their loved ones, ‘Friends’ truly speaks out about how everyone is left to feel a little bit isolated in their own bubble of existence, but if we reach out to those we love they’re still often there to give a hand to hold.
Between melancholic lines and hopeful choruses, as well as a sound that’s all-around quite soft and safe, ‘Friends’ really pens something worth listening to. Whether it be to take a moment to calm down, or as a reminder that even in your lowest moments there are people who care and that can relate, it’s worth playing for yourself here.

THE FIVE SENSES / SENTENCE STARTERS . // @bullytm
he’s frozen. he knows he should BOOK IT; flee while he still had a chance, but his feet wouldn’t budge. being the new kid was hard enough, but doing his best to avoid bowers and his gang just made things even harder. maybe mike had been a little too loud; let off a little too much steam to the point where it had attracted some unwanted attention, but he also hadn’t been aware of anyone else being around.
honestly, he just wanted to make it the rest of the way home. only a couple more blocks. and out of ALL the days for him to have to WALK due to a flat tire…
he gulped, lips parting as if he wanted to say something, but no words would come out at first. he didn’t know what to do. he’d dealt with bullies before, but troy and james were NOTHING compared to these guys. he never thought the day would come when he actually sorta, kinda, ALMOST MISSED the two assholes who liked making his life a living hell back in hawkins.
“ it wasn’t really– i mean– ” use your words, michael. “ what do you want? ”

"Your presence offends me" Gan damn the Folk. IT had little patience for the jousting of words. Why bother to beguile when teeth were often an appropriate answer to most questions? IT might use words as weapons on occasion, but never with the wit of the Fae, whose tongues were trained on such sport from the moment of their births. There was no power in IT's mouth to do anything but speak. IT's kin were a cruder sort, doomed or perhaps blessed to inflict misery by the nature of their beings. Wolves were rarely welcomed among sheep, none who knew IT's true nature were likely to invite IT to dinner. Better to live a solitary existence full of nothing but the more base pleasures of existence. What more did IT need but food and rest? IT was too old and frankly too set in IT's ways to dream of more. The silly politics and machinations of other folk was their concern. The insult here was of simpler nature, territory had been invaded. Whether or not it was invaded based on the Fae's understanding of the word was besides the point. But it was on that point that the insult would be judged and IT lets out a long exasperated hiss between IT's teeth.
"What if I don't follow your laws?" Any action against the Fae could potentially invite war, and therein lay the problem. Arrogant though IT was and assured of IT's strength and prowess. IT doubted IT could wage war against the Folk. Especially when IT had no idea what court IT might be dealing with. Irksome though it was, IT could see no other option than simply allowing the Fae creature remain within IT's borders. IT couldn't even strike that silly cup without a potential insult. How sickening to be bound by laws IT neither cared for or respected. Laws that should have no place in this dispute at all. There was little IT could do but growl at him and so IT growls, dropping IT’s glamour just enough so the fae could see the fangs crowding IT’s jaws.
“Fine. Remain if it pleases you.” IT would have to find a way to remove this pest, one way or another. There would have to be a loophole somewhere. The Folk were cunning and cruel and they could run rings around the best of any human lawyer. But IT wasn’t human, IT had nothing but time and enough spite to last decades. Regardless of their laws, IT would not so easily forget the insult offered by the fae boy who strolled into IT’s territory and sat there as if he was owed hospitality. IT would find a way to oust him, then IT would eat him. It had been a very long time since IT had gotten IT’s jaws on one of the Folk. Would they taste as sweet as IT remembered or would the years have soured them, as so much had soured over time. The mortal world was changing, it only made sense that the Fae world would change too. Albeit at a slower pace.
“I cannot remove you. But know this. You will pay for this insult. Perhaps not today, perhaps not even within the next century. But I will repay you in kind. I have your scent now. You won’t escape.”
In the time it takes for this ― creature ? person ? ― to respond, be it from befuddlement or a mere attempt to contain their bewildered fury, the Prince's teeth bite on the plastic straw and his gaze cautiously narrows upon their figure; It is normal, unsuspecting and ever so human-looking in its entirety that, had he not known how to search for that faltering, flickering piece of inconsistency ― usually amongst the Folk being as inconsequential as a reminder of a tail, golden shade of eyes or even the feet turned around ― to suggest glamour is at play, or had he not heard the threatening hiss echo in the sharp shell of his ears, Cardan would not have assumed they were anything other than yet another insignificant ( and considerably rude ) mortal, roaming about the mortal land as mortals often do ― hardly substantial enough to grasp his attention. And yet, whilst himself has been studying them, it would appear as though the creature is doing some considering of their own.
He is all too familiar with that look. It is the same calculating and hungry expression shared by the courtiers reigning in the hills of the Unseelie Courts every time something similar enough to food comes before their attention, or when he would walk upon the dirt roads of the Mandrake Market when he was younger. He recalls seeing it upon the wary faces of the solitary Folk taking inhabitance in the mortal land ― or commonly known to them as Ironside for all the metals and iron it holds ― when they are about to trick a mortal and in the sharp features of his second-born brother mere moments before he got him exiled and placed him upon Balekin's household and his father's bad grace. It is a look which promises nothing good and when accompanied by the soft-spoken words of the Fae, it only makes the Prince stiffen, his stomach churn and himself vigilant and alert regardless of whether his eyes remain heavy-lidded in boredom and his manicured nails tap away into the plastic cup, measuring the seconds ticking past as though he has somewhere to be.
❛ Do I often trespass ? ❜ The question echoes back at them laced with curiosity and faux thought as Cardan's head tilts, and he takes an obnoxiously loud sip from his beverage. This is not to say it is not something he hasn't done before, for he has attended revels in the Lower Courts without their rulers' knowledge, and he has skimmed through the Market located near the Court of Moths in the dawn of the day when all of Faerie is fast asleep more times than he can currently recall ― But can it be even considered as such if his father reigns over the land of both Seelie and Unseelie ? ❛ No, I do not believe I do. Even so, this can hardly be counted as trespassing. I have neither crossed a marked territory nor have committed an offence against its authority. Your whim to inhabit this part of the Ironside has nothing to do with my presence. ❜
Another sip, and he continues; ❛ You are well familiar with the tongue of the Folk, so I can only assume you are aware of our laws. Even if this part of the Ironside belongs to you, I have neither broken your hospitality by drawing weapon nor offended you. As expected, it is only fair that neither can you. ❜

IT seethed.
Hospitals were not environments IT enjoyed. In theory they were larders stuffed full of easy prey. Defenceless victims who had no chance of fighting back through either injury or sickness. Terran illnesses had no effect on IT, there had never been an infection IT could catch, an ailment IT had suffered through. Hunting here had simply seemed.. It was too easy. IT would allow Itself an easy meal when starving, but even then taking from the hospital felt off somehow. As if even IT could spare a modicum of pity for the sick and the dying.
The smell didn’t help, the reek of the infected, of blood and medicine and bodily fluids. All mixed together in a heady blend that was vaguely sickening. Even the sewers were better than this. At least in the sewers, the main scent was IT’s own. In this place humanity ruled. There was no escaping their presence, the sheer weight of their stink made IT want to pace, to rip into unsuspecting flesh.
Fortunately IT had an easy target and IT turned IT’s grinning face towards the boy trapped in a hospital bed.
Eddie.. Oh but he didn’t look well, flushed with fever, so very small in that big bed. The broken arm wasn’t nearly enough. Not for what Eddie and his friends had done. They had made IT retreat, IT had felt pain, such a horrible squealing pain that made IT run as if IT was prey. Such a challenge couldn’t go unmet, something had to be done. IT was still in pain, IT’s face a jagged snarl, teeth poking through IT’s flesh in strange places, IT couldn’t keep a hold on IT’s form particularly well with such an injury.
“Not real, Eds?” IT’s voice was slurred, part parody, partly the inability to control IT’s tongue. It lolled out of IT’s mouth grotesquely, splattering drool that hissed as it came in contact with the floor. “Are you sure? Are you really sure?”
IT advanced, IT’s wounded mouth gaping open, endless rings of teeth slowly flexing into position.
“Your mommy can’t save you now.”

Tagged!
Rules: Write your ten favorite female characters from ten different fandoms and tag ten different people
I was inspired by @spottytonguedog. She posted this with the note that she was tagging whoever wanted to do this. Now normally I see that note and think “Oh no, I can’t do that...I mean I really want to, but I can’t. It-it would be like showing up to a friend’s house uninvited even though they’ve always told me that I’m welcome to come over whenever I want, invite or no invite. I-I just can’t. You must be invited first.” But this time I told my personal hangups to go screw themselves. I really want to do this one because you can never talk too much about awesome lady characters. So here we go! P.S. This is not a definitive list by any means. ;)
1. Geraldine Granger from The Vicar of Dibley: She’s a beautiful plus sized woman who works in a male dominated field. She’s bold, hilarious and loves her tribe of weirdos no matter the shenanigans they pull. She’s exactly who I aspire to be. Plus she winds up marrying Richard Armitage in the end. I mean, c’mon!
2. Donna Hanscum from Supernatural: The most precious cinnamon roll in existence. She proves that “Kindness is courage not weakness.” Plus she’s a badass sheriff who’s not afraid to take down a vampire nest if need be.
3. Briar Wilkes from Boneshaker: A tough as nails mom who fights off hordes zombies in an AU Civil War Era Seattle to rescue her son. Plus copious amounts of steampunk goodness to boot.
4. Jane from Jane Eyre: “Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!–I have as much soul as you, –and full as much heart!” No further explanation needed.
5. Patty Tolan from Ghostbusters: She’s strong, smart, and literally the sole voice of reason in her squad. She’s amazing.
6. Anne Eliot from Persuasion: GIRL. I relate to you so much. The penchant for unrequited love, the big sister who has to take care of everyone, the inability to verbally express your true feelings...we’re kind of the same person...now if I could only find a Captain Wentworth of my own.
7. Tiana from Princess and the Frog: Who doesn’t love a woman who works her tail off to achieve her dreams? And even better her dream actually comes true. Plus, you know I’m going to love me a fellow baker/cook.
8. Kaylee Frye from Firefly: She’s hardworking, sweet, funny, the best mechanic in in the ‘Verse and loves Serenity nearly as much as Captain Reynolds.
9. Willowdean Dickson from Dumplin’: I just adore it when you get to witness someone not just accept, but grow to love their body (something I’m still working on) especially when society sees that body as unworthy, unlovable and in a lot of cases unacceptable. Plus, who doesn’t love a healthy side of Dolly Parton?
10. Sister Michael from Derry Girls: I believe if you looked in the dictionary under the definition of “Salty Broad” you would find a picture of this woman. She’s savage, ruthless, does not suffer fools lightly, give zero shits, and I worship her for it.
Tagging, but only if you want to do it: @bluefirecas, @shy-violet-soul, @spn-idjits-guide-to-hunting, @misswhizzy, @deanscarlett, @rizlow1, @talla-hassee and whoever else wants to do this. And I honestly mean that.

For several long moments, IT simply watched him, allowing IT’s eyes to flicker from blue back to their natural orange. Oh what a mouth this one had, risky. Even if he had dealt with eaters before. He had never dealt with anything on IT’s scale, he couldn’t have. There was nothing more terrible than IT that walked this pathetic plain. What were those petty little beasts in comparison to IT?
“Funny and a drunk. You must be quite the hit at parties.”
Dan rose a brow at the creature's chosen monikers. He wasn't quite sure which one to address first. One being a name meant for something untouchable - god like -, and the other almost too human sounding. Did it want to be human, or did it simply enjoy playing at being human? "Eater of worlds? Sounds presumptuous. I mean, this world is still standing. Taking your time with that one, are you?"

starter for @batteryacidfcknuts! ♥
“DON’T POUT,” KAREN HAD LIGHTLY scolded, doing her best to offer mike an encouraging smile. "it’ll be FINE, you’ll see.” mike could only roll his eyes at that, having to hold back a scoff. “michael...” she sighed upon taking in his expression. “look, i know it’s been a rough year for you, but--sweetie--this is our FRESH START; A NEW BEGINNING! i’m sure you’ll like it here.” mike WANTS to tell her how he liked it BACK HOME instead, but bites it back, letting a grumble of irritation escape his lips as he wordlessly tosses his backpack over his shoulder. he shrugs off her offer to drive him to school, INSISTING that he’ll just bike there instead. he’s still mad at her and his father for making him move here in the first place. he needs some time alone; time for just him and his thoughts.
HE GRABS TWO EGGOS AS they pop up out of the toaster on his way out the door. he’s already got one devoured by the time he’s mounting his bike, and the other he eats on his way to his new school. he takes his time, in no real rush to get there any time soon. he doesn’t even WANT to go, but he also knows that there’ll be HELL TO PAY if he ditches. even with him acting out as much as he has been, he’s not STUPID. he knows how far to push and when to do it. today, right now, isn’t it. so, he bikes to school, taking his precious loving time as he does so, begrudgingly dismounting his bike when he rolls up the the bike rack. he parks and locks it, then trudges his way into the school, ignoring the stares of the students as he passes, trekking all the way into the office where he gets his class schedule and is sent on his way.
HE DOESN’T TALK TO ANYONE, avoids the curious gazes of the other students, and keeps to himself. he sits alone at lunch, deciding to spend it outside at one of the tables in the far corner. he doesn’t have any food; didn’t pack anything and not in the mood for school food. he’ll wait til he gets home to eat again, it’s fine. instead of thinking about the lunch he isn’t eating, he focuses his attention on the game of TETRIS before him. maybe if he looks busy no one will mess with him... HE HOPES.
#{ here you go!! i hope this is okay! lemme know if you want something different! }#&&. starter#&&.﹙campaign in session﹚ ━ IC.#&&.﹙welcome to derry﹚ ━ IT VERSE.#batteryacidfcknuts

The [ TWENTY-THREE ] year old has been in Derry for [ TWENTY-THREE YEARS ] and can usually be found at [ THE ROSE GARDEN, her family’s botanical shop ], when they aren’t busy with [ GARDENING or MAKING THINGS FOR HER SHOP ]. I hear they seem to be [ AMBITIOUS and PASSIONATE ], but they are also rumored to be [ BLUNT and HOT-TEMPERED ]. I’m sure they’d never admit it, but they’re terrified of [ RODENTS ]
- B A S I C -
Full Name: Lucille Rose Hannigan Nickname(s): Lucy, Lu, Lulu Age: 23 Occupation: Owns \ Helps run The Rose Garden - a natural apothecary, also known as a botanical shop Birthday: January 11th Zodiac: Capricorn
- F A M I L Y -

- P H Y S I C A L A P P E A R A N C E -
Height: 5′6′’ Weight: 120 lbs Hair Color / Type: Red / Straight Eye Color: Dark Brown Piercings: Just once on both earlobes
- P E R S O N A L I T Y -
(+) Independent, Ambitious, Passionate, Hard-Working (-) Blunt, Hot-Tempered, Judgmental, Sarcastic
Lucy has always been hard-working and ambitious, especially when it came to the family business. It helped that it was what she loved to do, and that she was super passionate about it. Seriously, she’s not exactly the most social of people, but don’t get her started on a conversation about plants - she’ll definitely talk your ear off.
She’s pretty much always been independent, too. She’s needed very little guidance or direction in her life, as she’s known from the very beginning where she’s wanted her future to go. Which was helping her dad.
She can be quite friendly with most people, if they’re also kind and friendly in return. However, typical redhead, she can also be very hot-tempered when she is angry - and she can get angry pretty quickly, if her buttons get pushed too many times.
Lucy doesn’t have much of a filter, so she can be very bold and blunt on occasion, and sometimes she can come off as rude, but she doesn’t usually mean for it to come out that way. She’s just super honest and opinionated. And Judgmental, can’t forget that. Boy, can she be really judgy and too sarcastic sometimes. Easily her biggest flaws.
- H E R B I G G E S T F E A R -
Musophobia - the fear of rodents; particularly mice and rats. However, Lucy’s fear extends towards all types of rodent, except squirrels and chipmunks - she isn’t bothered by them as much.
- L I K E S / D I S L I K E S / H A B I T S
Loves gardening - she spends a great deal of her time in the dozen or so greenhouses that her father has put up on their property over the years - all of which house many of the plants that help supply their shop for things like herbs, teas, essential oils, etc..
Obviously, she's obsessed with plants. Her small one-bedroom apartment is filled to the brim with house plants, almost obsessively so. Thankfully most house plants are very forgiving when it comes to colder climates, so living up in Maine, where it’s usually always cold and rainy with very little sun, doesn’t affect them.
Working out and staying in shape. Goes to the gym three times a week, if she’s not super busy.
Keeping journals, as she finds her life easier to manage when she documents specific life events.
Heavily into plant photography. She keeps an online portfolios up on her online shop, listing all of the species of plants that her family grows and that they sell through their in-store and online shop.
Being social, despite feeling like, at times, she could be a bit awkward when it comes to actually starting a conversation with a stranger. Good thing Derry’s small and coming across a stranger is rather uncommon.
Is 100% vegan
She is a true artisan - she takes the most pleasure out of growing and making things from scratch and by hand. She dabbles in a lot of areas - from baking to cooking, to DIY arts & crafts, and especially to making and perfecting natural-based recipes for a lot of different things that she sells in her shop: lotions, soaps, lip balms, scrubs, essential oil blends, candles, tea blends, spice blends, etc. You name it, and Lucy’s very likely got her hands on it.
She dries her own herbs and spices and tea leaves, and though it’s quite a tedious process, she LOVES doing it. She loves harvesting the leaves and bundling them in twine and hanging them to dry all around the shop. In her opinion, it’s totally aesthetically pleasing. That, and she very much enjoys doing things the old fashioned way. By hand. She’s got a total pioneer-like homestead mentality when it comes to how to does things.
Ever since she was a very young girl, Lucille’s always been more than willing to help her dad look after the greenhouses and she’d come into the shop whenever she could, helping him stock shelves and nothing’s really changed. Only now, she was selling a lot of her own products as well as the plants that come from both the Hannigan and Rhoades nurseries.
Enjoys baking and cooking, immensely - having been taught by her mother from a very early age. She uses her baking skills to make specialty breads and other baked goods to sell in The Rose Garden.
Is a self-taught pro at needlework - embroidery, knitting and sewing alike. A lot of her hand-made pieces can be seen hung up around her apartment and her shop.

“ Where the love for nature, baking and art meet “
It’s very much an artisan shop, heavily focused on home grown and hand-crafted products. A botanical shop / natural apothecary / produce market / bakery all in one.

- B I O G R A P H Y -
Is a native to Derry. She’s lived here her entire life, apart from the four years she left to go to New York for college.
Is of Irish / Welsh / Scottish descent, from both of her parents’ side
Has an older brother, whom she is very close with. He, too, helps out with the family shop when he can, but he’s usually off doing his own separate thing.
She is also close to her first cousin, Chrissy Rhoades (Lucy’s dad being the brother of Chrissy’s mother) who’s family owns their own plant nursery. The two families are greatly connected with one another, as the fresh produce from both nurseries and greenhouses are sold at The Rose Garden shop. Lucy also uses fresh ingredients supplied in bulk from both family’s crops to whip up large batches of her various handmade goods and body products.
While her brother preferred going off and doing his own thing, Lucy often stayed close to her parents, finding comfort and peace at their side verses being out-going and overly social. This lent to her growing a very strong attachment to both of her parents, since she was never very good at relating to other people as a whole and Hugo and Renee Hannigan were her whole world as a small child.
That being said, she’s always had a stronger connection with her father, with whom she shares a love for all things leafy and green, and the want to turn said leafy and green things into a variety of different things. They had the biggest green thumbs and most inventive minds of the family, and it was just something the two had always bonded over. That, and they were both highly anti-social and quirky individuals, preferring their plants for company rather than other people. Not that they weren’t friendly and welcoming to the other locals of Derry, they just didn’t know how to talk to people outside of business-talk. At least, not very well.
The two are insanely obsessed with the work they do for The Rose Garden, putting all of their time and passion into their shop and making sure their greenhouses and various equipment were running nicely.
So you could safely say that she was a daddy’s girl, through and through, from the very moment she came into the world. She took after him the most.
Her childhood was quite normal, all things considered. The Hannigans were a happy family with a pretty healthy family dynamic. All was great, or so Lucy thought. She was around 10 when her mother started acting peculiar. One minute she’d be fine, fixing dinner in the kitchen or cleaning and then the next she’d totally flip out and start screaming. At seemingly nothing. The episodes would send the entire house into chaos. Her father would shoo her and her brother up to their rooms or into the next room to keep them both safe and trying to keep them from witnessing the full extent of their mother’s mental breakdown. Which both children were more than fine with, as just listening to their mother’s blood curdling screams and subsequent emotional crying was more than scarring enough for them.
This went on for two years, the episodes unpredictable but never any less intense and frightening. The mental health of Lucy’s mother decreased significantly over that short amount of time, until it reached the point where Renee refused to get out of bed, and remained in a perpetual state of terror, leaving her essentially catatonic, apart from incoherent mutterings under her breath, and the godforsaken rocking. Not even the professionals could tell what was wrong with the woman or what had even triggered her mental decline, but they did eventually, very loosely label her condition as catatonic schizophrenia.
At age 12, her mother was taken to Juniper Hill Asylum, where she’s been ever since, still unresponsive to anyone’s presence apart from her own mental demons. She continues to mumble nonsense under her breath that nobody seems to be able to make out.
Adjusting to life without their mother was hard for both Hannigan children, and hard on their father, but despite his heart breaking at the loss of his wife, he made sure his kids were taken care of and loved and wanting for not. And yes, they did consider Renee’s absence as a loss, for though she wasn’t dead, her lack of presence in their life was greatly felt and just as devastating.
They still, to this day, visited her often, but every time was a very painful experience, resulting in lots of tears, mostly on Lucy’s end. She just couldn’t bare to see her mother in such a sad state.
The absence of her mother caused Lucy to cling tightly to her dad, and even her brother. The three of them became one another’s rock, bringing the remaining three Hannigans even closer as a family.
After high school, Lucy moved to New York City for four years and graduated from NYU at the age of 22 with a double bachelors degree in Horticulture and Botany. That had been her set goal from as early on in her life as she could remember; she’d always planned to go to school to study plants and grow her knowledge on the subject. Plant science - or Botany, as it was called - and how to properly cultivate different species - was something she had always been fascinated in. She already had quite the training, having been taught a ton by her dad growing up, but she wanted to be properly certified when she joined him full time at the shop.
#derrybio#this doesn't even scratch the surface with this girl#but here ya go#she's actually a VERY OLD muse of mine#i've been playing a variation of this girl for several years now#anyways - sorry if this bio got repetitive in places#i'm not good at writing bios
