Shadow launches himself over a log to use the momentum to swivel around and shoot daggers at the green hedgehog. "No, you can't just have the Chaos Emerald." Why this guy seems so hellbent on getting the green one Shadow usually keeps on him he can't really understand; but given the other's general appearance, (green Sonic with a leather jacket?) Shadow is beginning to think it must be yet another hedgehog with some sort of a complex.

What's odd is how easily green-Sonic-number-2 (move aside Jet) keeps up with Shadow. He's just as fast as him and Sonic. Whatever energy is coming from the guy, Shadow also can't quite place--it feels like the Master Emerald, but that shouldn't be possible. In fact, everything about this guy shouldn't be possible. "Go join a biker gang or something--you'll fit right in with that tacky jacket."

Loupin. I mean Loupin.

Idk the more I look at my sketches the angrier I am it just didn't come out... I don't even know. This isn't even really canon, like I've said before. If Moe stayed in the dream realm it would just be a completely different person. It would be a tragedy. I never wanted to explore it as a possibility.

But then I was just Struck. With SUUUUUCH a strong image. Of, the idea behind all the fairies, that they never had a chance to grow up. I was thinking about pixies and imps. I was thinking of a dream pixie that delivers prankish dreams. The idea, that at first glance, you really Can't tell which realm Loupin is associated with. Then it casts Wake Up and Get Ready For Work dream or You're Out In Public Butt Ass Naked Unable to Find Clothes dream or Totally Safe For Use Toilet I Promise dream. It's...... ultimately harmless...? But COME ON, MAN.

Okay but going back a minute. About the not growing up, detail. That, this version of Moe would be stuck as an eternal child. I was ESPECIALLY thinking about "ideal selves", and that Moe has never seen a future for itself. Even as a child. It could never imagine what it would even look like all grown up. And I was thinking about how each fairy Wishes for something, that's a direct response to their trauma. Ideal Self + Unable to see a future for itself + What it wishes for.

Then I had a BEAUTIFUL. INCREDIBLE VISION. Loupin is a beast unit. OF COURSE MOE'S IDEAL SELF WOULD BE A BEAST UNIT (LIKE. Baby Moe In Particular). Sharp pointy fangs and BIG HUGE CLAWS and strong legs for running and HOOVES. TO KICK AND STOMP YOU TO DEATH WITH. YOU BITCH ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️For extra flair (and speed!), its wings are more dragonfly-like. And a cute little tail............ hell, the way this is going, you don't even gotta introduce it to it/its pronouns it's probably already fucking there. Could also speak to some dehumanization experienced in a previous life but don't worry about that. There's actually plenty of things here you don't gotta worry about. Definitely don't overanalyze the fact that it could never see a future for itself that every day was just survival mode and what it wants for the Most is a way to either defend itself make itself Scary or be really fast.

Godddd okay okay but there's Something. Too. To the fact that this Moe is frozen in time, 12 at absolute oldest. I was aiming for a more androgynous look, too. But for the idealized self to remove anything that it could be sexualized for against its will. Remove everything it has to "protect", add more bells and whistles for protection.

GAAAHH MAYBE. MAYBE. THE PROBLEM. Is I just got too much shit going on LMFAOO and I ALWAYS. REALLY REALLY STRUGGLE W THE FAIRY DESIGNS. BANE OF MY EXISTENCE. I gave up on the color palette halfway LMFAOOO LIKE. This is very much a First first draft. But also, not something I feel too compelled to spend any more time on...? It is just a thought experiment, at its core. Any which way. I do love it... the Idea of Loupin.............. unfortunately if I think too hard about the ramifications of Loupin I will cry and throw up though. No world where this can be canon. SAD❗

Catenating after the Doctor, miscellaneous bits of scrap tucked underarms, Tails is no different. Muffs, gloves, a scarf and a puffy coat protecting him from the gelid onslaught, he pauses as they pass the obtuse front window of one of the many shops lining the road. Gazing into its displayed setup of festive décor, awe consumes his features as he tilts his head, craning it to peer at Robotnik, whose bootprints leave a rhythmic impression on their path back to the shop the further he gets.

❝Feels like winter took forever to get here this year,❞ he comments, ocean eyes searing into the back of the skull in such a way that prompts the other to pause as well, finally turning back, ❝when we disappeared a few months ago, I thought the year would go by just like that. But… wow.❞

— ;; Quirking a brow, Robotnik stares at Tails from behind those dense ocular spectacles, as if attempting to discern the actual tone behind his words. Momentarily processing, before deciding with certainty that Tails is not, in fact, being sarcastic for once, he gives a rather desiccant reply.

❝You do realize it’s been more than “a few months”, don’t you boy?❞ 

— ;; Hustle and bustle, brumal static in the air, incoherent chatter from all around fully stands still, just like that. Torpidly, his heart suddenly ringing in his ears, Tails turns his head to meet Robotnik’s confused expression, his own twisting into something of mortified disenchantment.

❝…What?❞ Faintly, the singular leading query spills from Tails’ lips, in disbelief of what’s been stated. Lowering wide eyes to their feet, subconsciously observing the frigid fractals that land all around, making the snow its only home. ❝You… you’re lying. I don't believe you. ...How long… has it been?❞

Contemplating for a second, and with the click of a tongue, Robotnik answers, ❝I’d wager it’s been somewhere around fifteen or sixteen months. Did you honestly think time wouldn’t continue to pass from where—❞

❝My birthday,❞ interjecting before he can finish his mordacious remark, Tails’ head whips back up to stare desperately, ❝did my birthday pass?❞

❝I figured you'd have noticed on your own, but it came and went.❞

— ;; Resisting the sudden urge to disgorge, to stain the sleek sheet of ivory into a versicolor canvas of bodily suppuration, the congery of stray mechanical pieces cascades from his tenacious grasp instead, spilling all around their feet.

❝How—❞ cadence oscillating, forcing back the voluminous lump plaguing his throat, ragged breaths leaving puffs of cold air in front of him, he dares to ask. ❝—H-How old am I?❞

❝Fifteen,❞ Robotnik answers with lukewarm certainty as he hunches to collect the discarded parts. ❝You’d be fifteen at the moment.❞

— ;; Quailing to the ground right then, clammy knees pressing into the cold, Tails barely even registers lissome hands webbing ‘round his form effortlessly, gathering everything in calculated silence. That’s it; that’s all he’d needed to hear for any sense of stability he’d had to come toppling down, thousands of miniscule fragments spilling out like hail that rubs against his bare arms, leaving him with freezer burnt welts—

—Leaving his entire world dark, ensnared in a Cimmerian cloister whose clutches stretch with emptiness as far as the eye can see in any direction.

❝You ne- you never told me—❞

❝It’s not my job to make sure you’re keeping your head on straight, boy. Get up.❞

— ;; Breathless, as if he’d just been gutted, all he can do is shake his head, collapsing sideways into the snow. Legs curling to meet his chest, arms folding around them and holding tight as if they, too, would disappear were he to release them. After a moment, he hears Robotnik scoff.

❝Do you want to lie here and freeze to death? You’re acting ridiculous.❞

— ;; Readying a snarky response, any form of quip to get the Doctor off his back, his mouth grows agape, but no sound comes. Neither in the way of movement; he feels locked up, glued to the ground in this manner. Silence, having befallen the pair, grows thick with every passing moment, until the point at which it’s shattered by Robotnik’s swivel of the heel, restarting the earlier trek towards the workshop.

❝When you’re feeling up to acting your age and rejoining society, I’ll be back at work. Lest you decide you want to perish from hypothermia, at which case I would advise you to expect an unmarked grave and an empty funeral.❞

— ;; But Tails doesn’t hear, curling those namesakes around his body in some feeble attempt to self-assuage. Tears, tepid in comparison to the weather, drizzle down his face, melting small holes into the snow beneath as they roll off his cheeks lopsidedly.

He realizes in that moment that he will never know home again.

Examine! Scourge's Guy Fieri Ass Jacket

Scourge's Jacket: ❝There's at least one person in existence that finds it fashionable...❞

     You're no trend chaser, but even as someone who doesn't often wear clothes, you know the look of a try-hard. You almost gag thinking about how cool Scourge must think he looks whenever he's flaring the collar on this thing. Though, all things considered? Especially when factoring in the excessiveness of its owner? It's a rather simple jacket. You had to give credit where credit was due, you've seen flashier designs. (Then, a thought crosses your mind: would Scourge be happy or sad to hear that?)

ROLLING FOR: [INVESTIGATION] Result: 21 (12)+9

     You inspect the black leather. It's surprisingly both soft and smooth. A trait of real leather. Apparently the 'king' wasn't one to skimp out regarding aesthetics. The sleeves, too, are torn intentionally. They're perfectly imperfect, really helps with the chaotic vibes he gives. Finally, flame decals decorate the shoulders.

     Thumbing across them, you soon notice a material difference.

     You had never really gotten up close and personal with Scourge, so you've never spotted it, but— the hot rod flames adorning his shoulders are patches. Sewn-on with a delicate and well-trained hand. Who the hand belonged to remains a mystery, but this fact remains true: they weren't a part of the jacket's original design.

     Something tickles the back of your mind...

ROLLING FOR: [HISTORY] Result: 20 (16)+4

     Turning the jacket back and forth between your hands, the mind returns to the clothing accessory's origins. To Scourge's origins. You had to be no older than five or six at the time... when Scourge was still Anti-Sonic. Had you ever even interacted with the guy back then? It was mostly Sonic, Knuckles, and the rest of the other Freedom Fighters handling him. But you remember clearly: the spitting image of your hero Sonic the Hedgehog, now with the additions of a black leather jacket and a pair of matching shades. No fire in sight.

     —Oh, right! You rack your brain further... Didn't his jacket have a crossed-out circle on the sleeve back then? Your curiosity almost demands that you undo the flame patches and see if it's still there for old time's sake. ...But at this point, with the history this jacket holds? It feels oddly disrespectful.

     Once again, you had to give credit where credit was due. Scourge has certainly come a long way since then. No longer is he simply Evil Sonic. He is Scourge the Hedgehog. And as someone who's spent a considerable portion of their childhood feeling like an understudy to something greater, you can respect that.
