Beacon user asked Sam for tips on Emmy speeches because they are nominated for 3 regional Emmys. Sam's response included:

1. Inventing a detailed backstory for the question asker

2. Telling them they they'd better win at least one because if they're nominated for 4 and lose them all they "really biffed it" and following that up with "I'm not making you nervous, am I?"

3. Suggesting that the asker thank HIM.

4. Promising to thank the asker in return in his next award speech, then panicking and saying "I hope you lose" and then immediately regretting THAT.

THE SHADE OF SAMUEL APPEARS TO SAUL /1668/ by SALVATOR ROSA

In this piece, Rosa depicts a scene from the Bible, specifically from 1 Samuel 28. Where King Saul is desperate for guidance before a battle against the Philistines, seeks out the Witch of Endor to summon the spirit of the deceased prophet Samuel.

The Witch is depicted shirtless and is lighting a branch on fire, in the process summons the spirit of Samuel, who is in a hooded white cloak. In this moment, Saul gets frightened. He is seen in armour crouching on the floor. Two of his men are cowering on the floor behind Samuel, while spectral monsters float in the gloom.

Samuel, the last Judge of the Israelites, anointed Saul as their first king. In a cantankerous mood at being recalled from the Shades, Samuel foretold the worst, that neither Saul nor his sons would survive the morrow. In the ensuing battle, his three sons were slain, and Saul, wounded, threw himself on his own sword, and Samuel’s prophecy came to pass.

At the time of its creation, Rosa was nearing the end of his career, having established himself as a significant artist of his time. His works often combined elements of drama and emotion, and this painting exemplifies his ability to convey psychological depth through visual storytelling.
