If there was one thing both Kat and Sam loved, it was a good massage. In the bath, on the bed, on the couch, it didn’t matter. The moment Kat had found out that Sam had magic fingers? They had been promoted to massage duty for life. After all, why go to the spa when your spouse could do the exact same thing for free?

Kat gave a soft moan as Sam managed to get into yet another knot, her eyes slipping closed. “Oh God, that’s so good...”

Sam gave a little chuckle. “You gonna keep boosting my ego, then?”

“I don’t think your ego could be boosted any more.”

A soft kiss to her neck made her smirk. “You sure about that?”

“Mmmm... not tonight.”

Sam didn’t bother responding to that, continuing to dig their fingers into the knots along Kat’s shoulders and neck. Eventually, Kat’s hums of contentment quietened down and her breathing softened, and Sam paused for a moment before leaning around to look at her.

“Are you sleeping?”

The soft breathing in response was enough of an answer for that, and they chuckled before gently laying her down on the bed. They leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

She’d probably had a long dar at work. She needed the rest. They could do the dishes later.

(Rev also kinda likes setting things on fire.) I also think "king and queen of the ruckus" sums up their relationship perfectly.

I just picture the two of them dancing and laughing in the middle of some destruction, preferably with Superman and Batman scowling somewhere in the distance, whenever I hear this song.

aleshia & obed: these two get married the august they're both 23, and have their first, darren, at 25. they end up having two kids, their second, andrea, being born four and a half years after darren. aleshia becomes an elementary school teacher for first grade, and obed teaches english literature in high school (10th and 11th grade)

allie & jake: they get married the july after they both turn 26. they have their first, joseph, at 28, and their second, daniel, at 31, before a set of twin girls, rebecca and leah, at 35. allie works as a forensic analyst, first working for the police department before getting hired by the fbi in her late thirties. jake works and becomes ceo of his uncle's accounting company, his half-brother isaac taking up another high position whilst rosie governs over the uk branch of the company. they get divorced in their late-forties because jake is a cheating dick

kat & sam: have a set of twins, tyler and annabelle, with sam at 23 before they end up getting married. they don't have any more kids, but they adopt many dogs once the kids head off to college because sam misses their babies. kat becomes a quantum physics lecturer and researcher at columbia university

laura & rick: end up having triplets at 26 - claire, rachael and fredrick - and their youngest, robert, at 31. they get married after the triplets, but don't have a proper wedding until a few years after they have robbie, once everything has settled down. laura was hired on by rick to start up and work the kitchens at the bar, and it basically becomes their life until they retire and they move back to where rick grew up

jodie: she never ends up getting married, but she does end up in an exclusive relationship with her boss at the foster home she works for, david, and to everyone's surprise has two kids with him - reece at 33, and harry at 35

alex: he ends up falling for a fellow teacher at the school he teaches at, named lianne, and the two get married and mostly foster kids. the only child they actually adopt is bryce's daughter, josie, because her parents end up unable to care for her. in this time he ends up going and visiting milly frequently in germany, and she pretty much helps him with raising josie until he gets married himself

mandy: was accidentally the one jake cheated on allie with, so has a daughter, lianna, at 32. becomes a nurse who eventually goes on to be a midwife by the time she's 30. never marries, but she does try dating for a while before giving up

james: eventually meets a woman called kaycee lewis, who works in neurology, and the two date for a while before getting married whilst james is in his early 40s (she's in her early 30s). they have 2 boys (names undetermined)

jake & gabbie: end up back together after a pretty turbulent relationship in their teen years, and get married before having two children - lucas and monse. lucas inherits jake's powers, complete with the emotional eye switches. monse inherits her mother's. jake still goes on to be his uncle's company's ceo, whilst supporting his wife and her dog addiction

bryce & allie: stay together all throughout and get married before having three kids - the twins, ethan and marian, and their youngest, lillian. ethan inherits bryce's powers, becoming the next leo, and lillian is basically a mini allie, but marian inherits a mix of the two. allie becomes a forensic analyst, as in canon

alex & aiko: meet at university, and end up falling for each other despite what the others think. they consider having their own kids, but end up adopting alex's brother bryce's daughter, josie, raising her as their own despite the electricity powers, and then end up having their own daughter, kiyoko. alex goes on to teach superhero, mutant and non-mutant history at the high school he went to with the others whilst aiko does her saving the world thing

laura & jesse: they literally just want dogs, and adopt many before they end up having twins - conrad and isla. laura becomes a chef at a well known local diner, which is dog-friendly so jesse often visits on walks. their dogs are more popular on instagram than they are and they consider it a blessing because of their superhero lifestyles

jodie & riven: ends up becoming real close to riven at university, and the two take forever to officially start dating but finally do so after jodie's accident. jodie starts up a boarding school to help younger kids with powers and links up with the high school they went to to try and help kids of all ages, and basically becomes a foster mum to all superpowered kids in the system. idk imma update when i know more

aleshia & obed: they get married, but because of aleshia's powers they don't have kids biologically but adopt. their first adoption ended up being a telepathic little boy called darren. then they adopt a force-field producer called andrea

mandy & link: still goes on to be a nurse, but in a&e so that she's the first to help with people in accidents caused by superhero-supervillain battles. possibly (?) adopts or fosters. i have yet to update this

james & hahnna: yet to be determined stay tuned folks

Kat wasn’t really responsive to people hitting on her. After all, she was in a committed relationship. She didn’t need to respond to anyone hitting on her. So what if someone thought she was good-looking? Her partner said that about her all day every day.

So when Sam suddenly appeared, placing themselves very obviously between her and the guy who happened to be flirting with her, she smirked. Yeah, that guy had only lasted that long because Sam had been distracted. If they had been doing anything else, Kat would’ve been swept off her feet the moment they’d even looked her way.

“You’re slacking, popsicle,” she teased lightly as she pulled away for a brief breath before diving back in for another deep kiss.

It wasn’t exactly expected that both Kat and Sam would be able to fit in the bath - after all, Sam was tall and pretty much all limbs, and Kat still had what she called her “pregnancy fat”, so it should’ve been a tight squeeze. And yet, they both still sat there in the bath, practically squeezed together as they relaxed in the warm water.

The only reason why Kat wasn’t complaining? It was the feeling of their long, caring fingers kneading along her scalp and combing shampoo through her knotted waves. After being in recovery in hospital for so long after having the twins, just being able to have a warm bath where they carefully washed her off was the best feeling in the world. And her mom was there taking care of the twins for them too.

She hummed softly as she felt their hands comb out another knot. “Mmmm... keep going...”

She heard them chuckle behind her, their breath tickling the top of her head. “You thought I was ready to stop?”

who accidentally eats a whole box of christmas chocolates in one sitting? Kat does. It’s not even by accident, though. She just really loves the chocolates

who insists on watching the cheesey hallmark christmas movies? 100% Sam. No doubt about it

who insists on playing nothing but michael buble in the few days running up to christmas? Obviously Kat~

who gets their presents wrapped at the mall so the other cant go snooping? Sam! Bc they kinda suck at wrapping too - they can untangle Christmas lights just fine, but wrapping paper just gets all messy

Who puts mistletoe on every door frame? Goddamn it Sam

Who gets too drunk at the work christmas party and has to be picked up at 9:15pm? Probably Kat. Sam would’ve been on shift and had to pick up their wife and would be laughing at her the whole way to bed

Watching Netflix in the evenings when the kids had gone to bed was becoming more and more of a tradition for Sam and Kat - at least, when Sam wasn’t at work and Kat didn’t have any papers to read or any essays to mark. And usually it was the classic Spanish drama that they put on.

But today, Kat really wanted to watch that new planet documentary. Sam couldn’t quite remember what it was called - all they remembered was that Kat was really excited about it and they were excited about watching it with her, even though that wasn’t the kind of thing they were interested in.

And they tried. They could at least admit that they tried. But the voice of that guy, the one doing the voice overs, was so soothing that they... kinda... drifted off...

Kat looked over when she felt their head hit her shoulder, and smiled softly, running a gentle hand through their hair and kissing their forehead softly. She of all people knew they’d been having less sleep than usual lately.

Deciding against the Spanish dramas was a good idea.

Kat didn’t fail. It was something she prided herself on - a pretty stupid thing to pride herself on - but she didn’t fail. Failure wasn’t even in her vocabulary.

Which meant that whenever something was going wrong - really wrong - she panicked. And in Kat terms, that meant crying.

Which was why Sam found Kat crying in her office when they came to pick her up from work. This was meant to be their day together without the kids - why was she upset?

“Kitty Kat? Honeybee?” They approached her desk, leaning on it before leaning down to wipe away her tears. “What happened?”

“I-it’s no-not working!” she sobbed, hugging herself tightly, and Sam’s heart broke. Kat was never like this. She was always so strong and confident... this experiment was really breaking her.

“Oh, Katnip...” They reached down and wiped away more of her tears, before wrapping her in a warm embrace. They didn’t quite know what to say to make things better, because science wasn’t their forte, but they could certainly hug their wife until all the pain went away.

Laying in bed together, Kat closed her eyes as she leaned into Sam’s chest, her head resting where their shoulder met their chest as her fingers traced softly across their chest. Slowly, her fingers made their way down their arm, stopping when she reached their hand and letting them take it softly.

Sam was never a person that anyone would describe as soft, but as they took her hand and brought it to their lips, softly kissing each of her fingertips, she found it hard to believe there was anyone softer in the world.

Kat hummed softly and leaned her head to the side at the kiss, her nails scratching the counter she was currently pinned against, softly. Thank God the kids weren’t home.

There was no way she could explain the importance of keeping the kitchen clean when this was going on.

At a particularly sharp nip, she gasped, her knees buckling, and within seconds she felt their hands pretty low on her hips, her body leaning forward to support herself on the counter. Not even the waist. “Fuck, Sam…”

“That would imply that I knew the person was a murderer allalong, and still fell for them,” she pointed out. “It would also assume that mylove depends more on what the person has done, than on how I truly feel. Whichis dumb, because that’s not what love is.” She reached over and took theirhands softly in hers, intertwining their fingers.

“I love you for you, not for what you’ve done. You got that,cheesecake?” She smiled up at them sweetly. “Besides, if my dad had it his way,I’d be married to some old-ass professor by now. So fuck loving someone for whatthey’ve done. I love you for who you are, and you are not a murdererjust because you’ve killed someone.”
