༉‧₊˚. this man would buy you stuff. there’s no point in arguing, because he would anyway, whether you like it or not. you don’t want something bought? don’t look at it. you look - you get, simple as that. if the first time he tried to buy you something you’d refuse, he’d be genuinely surprised. he wouldn’t understand how you could even have objections, because in his mind, he’s hella rich, he has more money than he can realistically spend, so of course he will, on you, don’t you get it? you want to try paying for it yourself? nah, his card’s pressed to the terminal before you can even blink. if you even insinuated that he was trying to buy your love, he’d be really hurt. he’s expressing love, not buying it. theo just wants to see your happy, pretty smile, and if your favourite things make you smile - ready-set-bought.

༉‧₊˚. a day at the shopping center isn’t just a day, but a date, and one of theo’s favourite ones, bc he gets to spoil you and spend so much time with you? yes, please. he’s not the type of boyfriend to sit outside the shop and wait for you while on his phone, no. he trails after you, carefully studying the clothing options and giving his input. he’d tell you straight up is something doesn’t fit, as well. not in a rude way, of course. “bella, you look gorgeous, but this colour would really make your eyes pop.” a human hanger, clothes you pick out hanging from his arms and shoulders as you make your way to the changing room. lingerie shopping? he’s the first in the store, already picking out sets before you even step inside. you absolutely have to make a show out of trying them on. he’s sitting in the couch, sipping espresso from the tiny cup that the shopping assistants offered, waiting for the first look. you open the curtain and his eyebrow immediately goes up, a sly smirk making the corner of his mouth go up. "what do you say, teddy?" you ask, turning around to check your ass in the mirror. "stupenda" he murmurs appreciatively, slowly nodding and roaming your form with his hungry eyes. you smile and disappear behind the curtain again, oblivious to the fact that theo has to adjust the front of his trousers – who gave you the right to look this hot? you end up buying everything, which isn’t even that useful since he’s taking it off at home anyway.

༉‧₊˚. when you go grocery shopping, you’re trying to be all cute and climb into the shopping cart, but theo gets actually concerned, because he thinks you’re tired already. "piccola, i told you not to wear heels to the grocery store, but you never listen." you laugh, finding his worried eyes adorable, and explain that it’s just a couple’s thing, to ride the shopping cart. he raises his eyebrow, but finds the whole idea pretty amusing, especially after seeing you all happy and cute in the cart. makes puppy eyes at you, asking you to push him in the cart down an empty isle, while no one sees. you spend half an hour searching for theo’s favourite and rare chocolate bar which you can only find in this particular store. if you can’t find it, he has no problem drilling the poor employees about it; he isn’t rude, just really persistent. you end up with more bags than you planned for because he takes two of everything non-perishable. "i know you’ll send me off to get you these cookies at midnight at some point, so i’m just thinking ahead, love."

༉‧₊˚. all about the famous ikea shopping trips because he gets to tell you which positions he’d take you in on which bed (or any surface, to be honest). absolutely adores book shops, especially obscure and second-hand ones, where he can go hunting for rare editions of his and your favourite books. he loves the smell of old books, too, so he can stay there for a long, long while, and it might be the only shop which you have to drag him out of at some point.

Is it just me or is the majority of the fandom under the impression that it was Knives who stabbed Rem?? Because it was actually Vash. Which I think says a lot about their actual personalities vs how the fandom perceives them.

Analysis under the cut!

In classic Nightow fashion, it's hard to figure out wtf is going on and you gotta read over it multiple times, but look:

After the discovery of Tesla, Knives faints and is placed in a little incubator thing or whatever and Vash laments the fact he remained awake to mull over the horrors. From this point on, Knives is not in the picture bc he's busy honk mimimi (which is actually something he employs as a coping mechanism throughout the story... his precious beauty sleep...)

Now, Vash is refusing to eat and lashes out at Rem, expressing his disdain for being stuck on a spaceship with all these nasty humans.

Rem once again tries to get Vash to eat, peeling him a fruit.

Vash lunges for the knife and attempts to stab himself, but Rem stops him.

Vash is locked in a reactive state - he's in shock and acting out. This is where I think ppl miss the mark in interpreting the twins and why Vol. 7 is so important.

Vash can actually be nasty as hell. He ain't all that babygirl. His silly goofy facade is a way of integrating himself into the human world sure - but it's also lying to himself. He's impulsive, stubborn, and dare I say arrogant with his Messianic martyr type shit. (EDIT: I’m being a bit harsh here… I mean yeah he’s the only person on Gunsmoke who’s got a chance against Knives but like getting up in townspeople’s business gets really annoying imo like I understand why he does it but man…that’s why we’ve got Wolfwood bc narrative foil and whatever… anyway)

Knives on the other hand, internalises everything. Though he may appear to be the one who lashes out, and yes of course he's also arrogant, but it's mostly projection. He is in a MAD state of denial. For all his talk of being a superior being, that humans are icky and should all perish, yada yada yada, he actually wishes for love and acceptance - he wants to be safe.

Obviously, his head is too far up his ass to admit it, and he's always too busy tweaking about how annoying Vash is and blaming Rem for everything to actually try and sit down and think of better ways to do things but ANYWAY

(You know who else's head is up their ass? Vash. The twins are actually so alike if you really study them!! Anywayyyy)

That was Knives' whole deal from THE VERY BEGINNING. Knives was the one to cry in relief when Conrad and the crew accepted them, not Vash. Vash was more like "ok cool! life might not be so bad! yipee!" and then Knives had to Big Fall about his internalised plantphobia or whatever etc etc.

I AM GETTING SIDETRACKED !! ok so

The stabbing occurs. Again, hard to tell it's actually occurring bc Nightow, but yeah Vash stabbed Rem. Not Knives! Bro has passed out for a couple days now lol.

More evidence it's Vash - Vash was the one to express feeling suicidal. Knives cannot express anything to save his life bc he's the king of internalisation and deflection and projection lmao. Also yeah he's still eeping.

Oh look! He rises! Completely unaware of the drama that has unfolded! Not that he'd care! He's set on a mission to hurl humanity to the dust bowl of Gunsmoke! Little scamp.

HI I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS 🙋

1. What would Monty's reaction be to Stink? Y'know, once the big guy is fixed and not acting like a sewer rat. Will he help take care of him?

2. Are we going to get a oneshot of Morgan and Monty interacting in any way? Maybe Morgan seeing Monty be slowly repaired with every visit and even helping when they can, or after he's fixed and they go home together where they talk things out and have a heart-to-heart conversation? I like to imagine ""The Big Talk"" happens on the way back home in Morgan's dinked up truck after a few minutes or even hours of painfully awkward silence and a bit of strained small talk, but seeing Monty's reaction to Morgan's home and us even getting to know what it looks like would be nice, too! I think seeing the home or living evironment of a character helps me understand them better, plus it's just interesting.

3. A bit of a continuation of my previous question- what does Monty think about Y/ngineer not being his soulmate? Will he ever find out what Morgan did to Y/ngineer? If so, how will he react to it? I can't remember if he even knows they're soulmates with Sun/Moon/Eclipse, so how will he feel if he saw them being affectionate, whether he knows or not? Is he over Y/ngineer and ready to move on with Morgan? On the other hand, what does Morgan think of Monty being their soulmate, Monty in general, and about having an animatronic for a soulmate? I can't remember if this was ever discussed, I apologize if so.

4. Will we get an update on how both Roxy and Chica are doing on the farm that's set a couple of months or so in the future, after everyone is repaired and the dust has settled? Will we get a little fluffy look into their daily life, relationship and how they both react to farm work? Or rather some hurt/comfort when the sky is depressingly dark, the house is dead quiet and the memories and phantom pains won't stop? I miss my girls. 😢

5. Could you share some thoughts you have for a potential oneshot with Cassie and Roxy? Maybe a bit of hurt/comfort with Cassie visiting and comforting Roxy after, y'know, everything, or seeing her when she'll all fixed up? Will Cassie get to meet Chica? (I'm assuming Cassie has a mother that's still around so would that make Chica her 3rd mother? 🤔)

6. How is Maddie? I think we had brief mentions of her near the end but I hope she's doing well and spending enough time with her dads! Juggling repairing 5 animatronics, taking care of a baby, and planning for the future must be overwhelming for Matt, even with Y/ngineer, Eclipse and his parents there to help him. :( Will we see Y/ngineer or/and Eclipse play with little Maddie? That would be so so cute! I suspect the boys didn't see a lot of infants in the daycare. 🥺 Speaking of... how did Maddie react to the long trip to Twin Falls? She's is an angel but I assume she didn't take the move too well.

He isnt stoked about the fact that they arent soulmates, he was starting to feel pretty sure that they were. but he isnt distraught over it - its more of a workplace crush than a real true "i need you" crush. He'd be pissed that morgan did what they did to them, but at the same time, hes done some pretty bad shit to people he cares about too - its another thing they can relate about. he sees morgan trying to be a better person and respects that. If monty were a human man he would 100% be morgan's type down to a t. however, they arent the monster fucker robot lover the y/ngineer is, so it takes more time for them to get used to the idea of a giant crocodile machine being their soulmate. it gets easier they longer theyre together, and the more they get to know each other!

I might write a oneshot for it possibly, along with cassie coming for a visit!! :) it'd be touched upon in the sequel if I ever write it!

tbh I have less ideas for these guys than I do other characters (mostly bc roxy is a mother NO DRAMA and no drama means less story hddsf) but I could see myself writing a oneshot where cassie comes and sleeps over with her dad's permission!

Maddie is doing wonderfully! She's a little angel and her grandparents are watching her while Matt and the gang make the move to the new home! Matt will drive back and pick her up once theyre settled in, so it isnt too much for her. Once shes there and all settled in, Eclipse ends up watching her most of the time while matt and y/ngineer run the shop. After someone sees him doing so well with their kids at the playground while babysitting maddie, they ask him if he runs a daycare, and he decides that YES, he does! Which is how Clear Skies Daycare starts! :)

I’m rewatching Good Omens 2, but I’m analyzing it and taking notes this time (I need to know everything). Here’s what I have for episode 1!!

Episode 1

Dirty Donkey is across the street from A.Z. Fell and Co, which is a familiar (and angelic) location. Could probably sense that it was a safe space for him to be

- Michael was on the phone with Beelzebub

- The fly can be seen crawling on the box just before Aziraphale goes to pick it up

- “Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out” Job 41:19 (written on matchbox)

- When Maggie calls him an angel, he says “nothing of the sort”

- Distancing himself from heaven? He’s no longer an angel?

- Was the miracle so strong bc Crowley and Aziraphale together are super fucking strong or because Jim accidentally helped?

- While I love Zira and Crowley together being strong, and the whole point of them being underestimated by Heaven and Hell, I think the latter would be funny

- It’s like Shadwell with his finger

- It could also be another way of tricking Heaven and He’ll like the body swap

- They already think they’re super powerful bc of the body swap, this would add to it

- Probably why the Metatron wanted them either to be split or together on his side

- I love the way that Heaven matches the modernity of Earth

a little context for smth, the Astral Express Crew is this train of ppl, not really many ppl keep that in mind (ha, mind), that travels on the path of The Hunt, but the path they travel on isn't important, but they are following in the path of this Aeon (basically like, gods in the game but they're also not gods ?) who had died (I personally believe that the Aeon of The Trailblaze, the one they're following the path of didn't die, because there is nobody who knows how they died, it's unknown if it was at the hands of another Aeon even tho thats a popular theory in game, or if it was killed by a human or what) and they're just following in that guy's path and stopping at worlds when they can't pass, usually bc of a stellaron (cancer of all worlds) on the planets, and they help those planets and continue on their path

Mind (March and Dan Heng)

Mind would be March because of more like her backstory, she was found floating through space in a block of six-phased ice (I believe it was that or it was some 'eternal ice' but I am p sure it was six-phased) which Welt spent ages to get her out of, and I did get my facts a little wrong when I was being autism in dms earlier, her name is March 7th because that's the day the Astral Express Crew (which at the time I believe consisted of Himeko, Welt, and pom-pom (? for Pom-pom)) freed her from the ice, and she didn't even know who she was, so they took to calling her March 7th since that was the date, she canonically puts out this happy, bubbly, personality to cover up this like anxiety and sadness I believe is what Himeko says when you ask about March, but she puts on that personality and smile to cover up those feelings

and Dan Heng because he's smart.. and he also has things in his past that he's running from, he's generally a mysterious kinda guy (HELP IM REACHING DISCORD LIMIT ALR,, THE PRICE OF TYPING THIS ORIGINALL ON DISCORD WTF) theres not many lore rooted reasons that I'm saying Dan Heng for, though he does live in the file room (I think it was called.. words aren't wording but it is like 8:34 at night) and keeps things nice and filed n stuff for the express, he knows a lot about it, he also joined it because he was running from people from his past life / past (I say past life because even though he normally looks human, he's from this dragon looking species I can't spell the name of for the life of me who goes through this rebirth process) and he refuses to really talk to anyone about it, and if you in game ask Himeko about him she doesn't give you much information

Heart (Kafka)

I won't go deep into lore because I don't think we know much of Kafka's lore or she doesn't have too much to go into ig, but Kafka is one of these Stellaron hunters who's goal (you'll never guess it) is to get stellarons, Kafka can appear as this nice person but really she's kinda violent and slightly manipulative (though it is kind of for the 'greater good' in some sense depending on where your morals lie when it comes to lore of the entire game) also she uses a gun canonically when you use her ultimate.. enough proof there /silly

Soul as Himeko or the Trailblazer

tbh I'd mainly say Himeko, we don't really know too much about Himeko, only what you can get from asking Welt, but she found the express when she was a kid blah blah that's not imporant to why Soul would be her, she was there from the start, she knows like everything about everyone on the express, at least all there really is to know, she's the real owner of it, but she is generally who keeps things kinda calm on the express, she's who you trust (which when you put hms as pathos, logos, and ethos, we know who is what, Heart is Pathos, Mind is Logos, and Soul would be Ethos, and if you were to characterize Himeko as one of those, she'd be Ethos because you know you can trust her) + she has red hair

I'd say Soul as the Trailblazer (the Main Character) because that is also the only character you can be 100% sure of in the whole story, also I can kind of draw a connection from the Stellaron that is inside of the Trailblazer (they are generally supposed to just be a storage for it, we don't know why yet because that lore isn't rlly out yet) to the void seen on Soul in like the videos, they both have something that can like 'take over' them in some sense

and Whole as Welt

Welt is someone who also knows a lot about people on the express (not as much as Himeko though) but he generally is like this character that is like the 'dad' of the express, at least in my eyes (that I totally have shh I'm not a Heart fictive what) this is smth you can argue that Welt would be Soul for but he is in and out of the Astral Express this like peace keeper, there is a lot more of lore to Welt because he is a reoccuring in like another Honkai game (I think there is only one other ? but if not he's in the two others, but I cannot remember how mant there is) and I remember seeing something about a comic, but basically if you were to put a face on the express it'd probably be Welt or Himeko, Himeko because she is the actual owner but Welt because he is this powerful figure that has this cohesive story if any of my reasoning for Whole as Welt makes sense

sirens was what took over my mind. siren rudy to be precise.

look. sirens and mermaids, in my culture are looked as someone who was unhappy with their life and took it but i think that while it does happen merfolks are a different species. and have their own culture traditions and etc. sirens feed on love, not human body. eating the human is.. a desert??? a treat??? they could but its not necesserity. and thats what is happening here. rudy and alejandro meet as young folks (maybe ale' is a nonhuman too) and totally fall for each other, both human and non-human but while its all wonderful there is fear n no trust. ale fears him bc of stereotypes, rudy fears him bc he never saw anything like that.

again, they are young and its first time siren is out of water and learns about all the sounds and how to walk and talk because he could only chip, click and make a little prrrr and just generally learns about this new world--holy fuck is what is that?!? why is it blue!?

also sirens dont sing. its a stereotype made up by stupid humans, if siren wants it can make sound close to humming but practically their vocal cords dont have the ability to speak but they over come the problems! i promise they do! ale feeds rudy his love in the end and rudy... there is a thing right. siren tears are extremely... good way of healing both for humans and non-humans

and while alejandro basically begs rodolfo not to use them on him, rudy still does that. because without ale and his love siren will wither and die. so if he had to use his powers (very draining and dangerous. could kill him) to save him he will

while siren is well fed (with love or blood) they are able to maintain the colour. and colour basically shows how nicely fed they are (you understand me). if they scream and use their tears in short time without any type of "snack" it can easily drain it and kill

they get to river and ale feeds him, loves him, kisses him underwater, holds him gently so the flow wouldn't wash him away. holds him with one hand on hip second is under his neck near gills but letting the water flow through, letting him breathe.

thats how he escapes shadows too. river always helped him and this time is not exception. he kills to shadow that were trying to smother him into relaxing. bold of them. he never trusts new incomers. sorrow from wound they left him, sorrow from the fact none of Vaqueros made it out of base, sorrow from being alone.

he is relieved to see and hear ghost n soap. even more sorrow ale isnt with them. when soap is fall down on ghost from exhaustion, rudy lets him sorrow out crying over the wound because graves is fucker and has bullets with some kind of poison and soap is dying.

he isn't dying anymore and rodolfo goes out to river. slides off him clothes, lays down in cool water and lets himself relax, lets water talk to him. hour later be make some sort of nest in the deepest part of river and lays in it.

he almost dies when ale is fatally injured, holding side firmly, sited against side of truck and rudy dries himself. he'll die for ale and will die without him. he is absolutely grey by the time he calms down, tucks himself in alejandros now healing side and.. happy. he is happy ale will live, happy to die near him and his warmth.

again waking up in the river. maybe it was just a dream? but no. he is kissed, surrounded by water but also warmth. there are soft mumblings about something just above the waterline but rudy cant bring himself to care. he is so full and packed with love it could hurt.

So im still working on actually writing out this interaction, because i wanna do a maybe lil mini fic about it, but over all i have the idea down.

I’m gonna add a little read more thing cause this is gonna be a doozy.

They first met because they had noticed Loft and Scout following them and confronted them, they ran and got away before Legend, Wind and Warriors bumped into them again in a near by town, questioning them and bringing them back with them for like…interrogation???

When they first meet rest of the chain, both groups are very put off by the other. The girls aren’t as shocked as the boys as they already knew that other worlds like theirs existed with other hero groups and such. The boys on the other hands are a little less forth coming about it. Its mainly Legend and Wild who are a bit stand of fish and suspicious about them. Twilight is a bit cautious about them solely because of Moon. It takes a good deal of convincing (i.e. telling them things no one but them would know, the master sword recognizing them, the triforce on the hand, etc) before they begin to settle a little bit more into each other.

Once everyone is a bit more comfortable, or more so being a bit insensitive and nosey (Legend asking what’s up with the mutt) and getting no answer, then comes Time with a nicer version of ‘what happpened to the rest of your party’ type question then they dive into it, but only lightly.

They explain what happened to their world, why they are there, and reluctantly what happened to each of them, and how Moon is/ was Twilight, but she is stuck at the moment, and even the master sword cant switch her back. She kind of knows who is who and what is going on but she is mostly dog back there. She’s still got her instincts and will go after anything that comes near them that she sees as a threat, from monsters to Yiga in disguise. They had to essentially ‘train her’ to no run after everything and to be able to safely travel with her.

There is a nausea in the air as Scout and Loft explain what happened to them. The group feels for them, but it gives a bit of a scare as a reminder of what could happen to any of them on this journey. Even more so when they learn why there is only four of them.

They refuse to go into detail about what happened to each of otter members, simply that they fell to the shadow in some way, or simple passed on. They still aren’t sure about what happened to Wild due to her having bee with Moon, and moon can really talk right now. But each of them hold an item of a missing member of their group, some as a reminder, others had plans to give them back to loved ones, had they made it to the times and eras they needed to.

And Moon very much needs a hug. She’s been through hell and back with the commander, and even the on her own. He shortened coat is a side effect of her captures wanting her pelt, shaving it down to remove her divinity as a noble beast and turning her into a ‘Mangy mutt’ instead. They would tell her stories of what they had done to the others, which she had no way of knowing was true or not because they were separated. Her and the commander only broke free due to a blood moon, which gave her her human form back briefly. But oh god dam is she like heavily traumatized. She needs every hug in the book.

Thankfully his bloodied limbing body emerged eventually and I have never felt happier in my life.

Anyway! Here is more on the game report so far. I am falling asleep as I type.

Story plot

So far enjoying everything, the story writing is amazing and the dialogue is pretty hard hitting at times. Sometimes bloated but oh well. Tuchanka felt like such a big pay off to a huge build up since the first game, the quest delivered a full course meal.

Especially the reaper fight oh god, you get to feel powerless for once with a brute after brute after brute being thrown at you and no obvious spare ammo laying around. You just have to gun it (Ha) to the controls and avoid getting sqaushed like a bug by the reaper or charged by the brutes like a football.

Cloaking is a god sent gift that spared me so many times, I pray the brutes never develop thermal vision or the braincells to employ technology that uses it.

Mordin's death hit hard man, it was so right tho. It felt like it was meant to be, I wouldn't have cared for a random salarian. But Mordin? Oh no.

The fact he sings the model of a salarian scientist during it is the knife twisting in the back after the stab.

It's so clear he is doing it to calm himself down, to not mess this up.

It's a reminder of how much he has given to science, his whole life, identity and hobbies. His music, youth and great mind. So many of his beloved students too.

And he dies correcting the mistakes of superiors playing politics who let fear cloud their judgement.

Wrex calls Shepard his sister in it, Wrex has not hit on me once, I am unbelievably thankful for his writers and so overjoyed with this lovely platonic relationship between them.

Because yes they do feel like siblings!

Still, ME1 Wrex now feels like a different person in comparison to ME3 and I am not talking about believes.

I mean he used to be less open with us, less animated and more shut on himself and brooding. Now he laughs, makes jokes and gets excited, I'm really happy for him! It's like he found his true purpose and passion in life.

Kaidan

I forgot how sappy and adorable he is, when sorrounded by badass characters with edges so sharp it could cut a paper, you get so used to them and someone awkward like Kaidan easily stands out.

He's unsure, confused and just so very human. He's still trying to do the right thing while looking at Shepard for guidance. The fact he doesn't think twice before refusing Hackett's offer to have his own ship just to be with us again.

I don't think Kaidan feels complete without Shepard. In his romance he is so sappy and adorable too, earnest and speaking from the heart. Since the first game he was one for romantics and rarely relied on sexy flirting but rather love confessions are more his forte.

I mean look at this man my heart

I he is just so fjkwkcbaoxjs <3333333 he is the softest person in this whole trilogy, even Tali and Liara are more jaded than him at times. But he still acts as if we were his first love, as if he is a schoolyard boy giving his crush flowers and asking their favourite color.

Femshep

You mentioned only playing as maleshep so I'm not sure how different our experiences are, so I will mention the things I think are exclusive to femshep here.

In the reconcile scene in ME3 where your ME1 romance takes you back after you romanced someone in the second game, they accuse you of cheating.

Apparently maleshep can say it isn't cheating because they broke up with you on Horizon. But femshape has to apologise for cheating??? It's very weird idk dude.

I installed a mod that just let me have the maleshep dialogue instead.

You can also hit on Joker when he asks you about EDI.

And have a full conversation on him being with you instead.

He rejects you and says he's not Kaidan (ouch) and doesn't date crew, he will follow you into hell but not into your quarters.

EDI doesn't wear a uniform so he feels okay dating her.

Can you hit on EDI as maleshep?

Talking about EDI, it's making me really uncomfortable how openly the game is being inappropriate about her. I get she has a hot body and that's perfectly okay, but why does every other person feel the need to comment on it and sexualise her? Like she's an object or something.

ME1 had this problem with femshep where antagonists would hit on you to show them being trashy or whatever and the paragon option is to swallow it down and keep talking while the renegade option is to call them out on it.

And in ME2, someone calls you a stripper, and a turian npc asks about your boobs.

I thought they fixed it in ME3, and true, so far, femshep doesn't get these weird comments.

But instead everything was turned on EDI and the game keeps bringing it up and it's just gross my dude. At least Shepard could tell them to fuck off but EDI can't.

James Vega is a character I really like! I loved his bro relationship with Shepard so much. Even as femshep he still says "hey man" or things like that.

But it is weird when he hits on you out of the blue without any prior interest indications. I envy the platonic bro relationship he has with maleshep, really wish femshep could have the same one.

He isn't even a romantic interest, you don't flirt with him or anything. He just hits on you sometimes. Because. Woman. Ig.

Eve opens up to you more as femshep, that was nice and made me feel better. She is one of my favs too, I love everything about her.

Thane

The Thane romance broke me oh my god.

He calls you Siha when he warns you about the citidal attack. In his romanced ending, his last ever act before dying is to literally pray for you, not for himself but for you. For his goddess to forgive you and grant you eternal love and peace, his son even joins him.

He says your heart is pure despite all, that's the goddess should keep you by her side and make you a companion to her much like you were to Thane. The moment is so touching and genuinely emotional I actually cried.

The voice actor for femshep is phenomenal in this too. You get used to Shepard's harsh and commander voice tones and suddenly it's all soft and quiet, whispery and on the blink of tears and it literally cracks your heart open and makes you realise how this big strong commander is crumbling watching the love of her life die in front of her.

And the dress looks so out of theme i know but the context to it just makes the scene even more sad.

I didn't know the citidal mission would start, I didn't know about any of this when I finished tuchanka. I just picked the prettiest red dress I could find because I was excited to see Thane again and wondering if he'll kiss Shepard again because he mentions he can't do it much bc of his sickness and would need some rest so I assume a mission or two will reset it.

So in my mind, I'm getting ready for this cute date with Thane, dolling my Shepard and all excited and happy walking to the citidal. Thinking about him and looking forward to his dialogue and make I'll take some pics with him in this pretty outfit.

But it's...he doesn't get to see it. He doesn't get to see Shepard in her pretty dress that she wore for him because she had to change into armour for the mission. Then he gets stabbed and you can't even stay by his side after he saved you from an assassin.

Btw that assassin scene was so fucking cool, it's easy to forget how badass Thane is and how deadly he can be even while dying.

By the time it's all over, Shepard had to go see him in the same red dress for their date because If I went to the Normady to change he would've already died. There is no time. This outfit that was supposed to celebrate their love has become the dress for his funeral instead, the date on his deathbed and it's squeezing my heart painfully.

Like that is the oufit of someone who thought they had more time, of someone who didn't realise how close tragedy came by.

starting off, sect leader yao gets such a bad rap in fics because he'a annoying/a symbol of mindless agreement with the popular opinion, but it seems a bit mean to me. the dude got really badly hurt to protect his guys

honestly I find this a very stupid pretext to get jfm out of LP. there is no need for him to personally go in such tense times, and no need for jyl to go with him

GIRL DISCIPLES! OH BOY!

myu in this episode is so fascinating to me. I don't think it's a stretch to say she genuinely cares about jfm even though she treats him like garbage. those two things can, and often do co-exist. she expresses her affection sideways because...what, she's embarrassed? because she's as emotionally repressed as adult jc is? because jfm would refuse it? he doesn't look very happy hearing that she's packing him something to help him. he looks resentful, if anything. man, this family is screwy

look at her being concerned and protective over her daughter! she may be villainized in a lot of scenes but honestly most fics I've read don't capture the balance between 'shrieking, cruel, bitter harpy' and 'genuinely concerned mother and wife'. the area between those two extremes is massive and I don't know that many fan works bother to explore that space without just redeeming her and pretending like she never did anything wrong, or saying 'deep down she loved them all so it's okay'. it's like they worry if they show a scrap of care or humanity then they're excusing everything else she did. but I don't agree. she has nuance but that doesn't mean she's not a horrible mother, and in real life it's not like (most) abusive parents are screaming criticisms and attacking their kids 100% of the time anyway

the way everyone talks about LP in this episode hurts me. 'our Lotus Pier" from wwx "my home" from jc "my Lotus Pier" from myu. interesting 😭

obviously this is a really hard scene to watch and I always have mixed feelings on it bc on the one hand. obviously really upsetting. on the other, myu is acting to appease a sect that will destroy their entire home if not satisfied. she is not harming him permanently, and MAY be pulling her punches so the damage isn't as bad as it looks (tho arguments like 'he can walk later!' don't rly pull weight for me bc wwx walks off horrific pain all the time)

I don't think this means she secretly cares about wwx further than as a tool to keep jc/the sect safe (she needs him functional, after all), or that it means she's a good person, but it's a strategic decision that wwx understands and accepts because of the political situation they're in.

logically myu obviously uses zidian on wwx in other cases, because he talks about it, bc it's talked about enough that lwj knows about it, and because she didn't need to close the doors (implying it's a commonplace sight that nobody would balk at) but we don't actually see any of her whipping as punishment onscreen

Well ok take my crim law professor, for example. He used to work as a district attorney. And he talked about his experience with domestic violence cases, how he would tell the victims that he was prosecuting their abusers anyway, because that way they would have no choice but to testify. If he waited for the victims to come forward they never would, because they feared retaliation. So on the one hand, sure the abuse was going to happen either way, and he is helping these victims by expediting the process of breaking it up. On the other hand, whether or not the victim was forced to testify, the news is going to make the abuser angry. And now, in a sense, my professor was responsible for the beating that resulted that night. All he really did was rip the band-aid off. But he's not the one who has to suffer the consequences, so was it really his call to make?

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions" is my main point. And that fact scales with how much power you are wielding. In our current system (and especially in BCS) public defenders are overworked and underpaid, and are victims to a type of assembly-line-justice that encourages plea deals, even for people who are innocent. I can forgive the choices PDs make when they don't really have much of a choice. But even so, there's still room to do harm. Is it ethical to try to help keep someone out of prison when you know as their lawyer that they definitely are guilty of a heinous crime? Or is it more ethical to refuse your services to someone you think doesn't deserve it, effectively appointing yourself their judge as well as their lawyer? There is no way to wield power without causing harm.

Kim however, I really do think should aim a little higher. Because then there are the crimes that shouldn't be crimes in the first place: marijuana use, prostitution, and now abortion. Laws penned by bad faith actors for no purpose beyond controlling the undesirables. A PD can't fix that; at best they can bail water while the ship sinks. If you want to really be a good guy, sometimes you have to cut the head off the snake.

But this isn't really about lawyers anyway. Not just about lawyers. This is about how fed up I am with discussions on who the "innocent" characters in Breaking Bad are, when to me the message was pretty clearly that once you're over 18, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. The story's themes are about inevitability, and what footprints you leave on the world while waiting for the inevitable. So in that sense, hopefully you can see what I mean. Death comes for everyone, and Blorbo is no exception.

I won't lie, I've always been fascinated with authoritarian regimes. But I'm not suggesting we get rid of lawyers. They do important work. But when you move mountains, stuff gets trampled. That's just a law of nature.

The good people are the ones who can be adults about their choices. The ones who realize negligence is a fact of the human condition, and when you occupy a leadership position, that negligence can be lethal to others, but at the same time doing nothing can also be negligence. The ones who do the best with the trolley problems they're given, but still understand that sooner or later, they will have to reckon with their choices.

the chess master with the board and the one radical element who refuses to play by the rules is such an interesting concept. personally I don’t mind the other aspect or introduction of that element of a relationship because I do think there is a potential for it to be interesting in the same way I find the messed up way Gen and Irene from TQOA series interesting (sorry I don’t know if you know that series) but anyway enough of that, but like im thinking about the one comic where Barbara keeps getting pushed by Selina and tells her they aren’t so different which is interesting because I see Jason as this Catwoman type or her being like the blueprint. Idk I feel these two people are really calculated and it would have been interesting if they had met when they were peak Oracle and Red Hood (despite like me despising how some of that RH lore came to be) if it had been made into some kind of antagonistic calculated game. They just had so many qualities that really narratively have that push and pull and personally I hate that it has been watered down to like this familiar thing because there was potential meat there before. Like it isn’t so much that they would bond over joker trauma in that they came to it do differently that maybe their would be some complex feeling to the way the other handled it that would range from anger to maybe shame or resentment that would really push the other in uncomfortable places. Wounds that’s don’t get filled. Narratives that haunt if things are left to linger and continue. And honestly narratives that also potentially could heal if you ever think about like a situation where the BoP offers a position to Jason. Idk idk idk….

i have read the queen's thief, it's one of my favorite series ever! i'm not personally inclined towards barbara and jason as a romantic thing bc i do think it differs from gen and irene in the sense that barbara and jason know each other from the outset and if we go by old canon she's a good decade or so older than him when she gets to know him as a teenager. but i do like the idea of them having the charged back and forth gen and irene do that's colored by their contrasting experiences due to age. there's a lot that irene's seen in her lifetime that renders her incredibly cynical and sometimes so little gen has seen that it renders him brash and bold in comparison. and while that doesn't track exactly fact to fact for barbara and jason i'm sure there's still elements there you can evoke between them like you mentioned! like not to turn this comparison on its head but i love that a big part of gen and irene's relationship is him helping irene recognize she's hardened herself over the years to protect herself and that it's increasingly compromised her own humanity - that would be so cool to see barbara try to get jason to recognize! but maybe jason could push back against her and the clocktower defenses too and try to bring her out of her comfort zone. there's so much you can do with them pushing each other's buttons lol i really want a story where they just drive each other crazy and are a bit resentful and a bit hopeful and it's messy and complex. it'd make for the perfect unorthodox cross generational friendship / allyship

tiffany is a gym master in johto, maybe a psychic trainer (bc i just think she'd absolutely have a gallade on her team) or a mixed psychic/electric, but mostly psychic.

she starts getting bored with the gym leader duties and rules and she goes to hoenn or sinnoh and theres where she sees her first pokemon contest and she's just blown away (certainly not bc one of the contestants caught her attention)

and yuri is this really underground participant of the contests, she never won but not bc she's not good (shes literally the best) but bc she uses Pokemons and moves that are not that appealing for the judges

I see Yuri focusing on Dark and Fighting-type Pokémon. She trains out of a special gym in Sinnoh (half is a conventional gym for human athletes and the other half is for Pokémon to train) and that's where Tiffany finds her and asks for her help. Yes, Tiffany is cute and dressed in all pink and purple, and she's got a Gallade and a Galarian Ponyta and a Wynaut trailing behind her BUT YURI IS 100% AGAINST THE IDEA OF HELPING HER AT FIRST. She's busy with her own stuff and Tiffany seems like she'll be ... A Lot so she refuses.

But the thing is,,, Tiffany IS a lot and she's very persuasive (and relentless) and she shows up at the gym every day until Yuri agrees to help her out. THE FACT THAT THEY ACTUALLY GET ALONG REALLY WELL AND START TO BOND IS WILDLY UNEXPECTED but it's a very happy accident.

yes. and unlike rayleene it IS because i believe that there's a whole civilized society hanging out a few billion light years away. mostly bc i just think that the universe is so big (to put it lightly) that i just refuse to believe that there aren't other sentient lifeforms out there. plus the world is so big and scary and if we are the only ones out in that world then it gives the existence of humans more meaning than i think we need/deserve and then i start freaking out

honestly probably fanfiction at this point. multiple times ive considered the idea of seriously stopping consuming it bc i just feel that it takes up so much of my time. time that i could be using to do other stuff that are actually useful to me like sometimes people ask me if i have hobbies and i find that the answer is no? because i spend so much time reading fanfiction so in a way ig it IS my hobby because reading is a hobby its just that people usually mean books but unfortunately telling people my hobby is reading fanfiction violates the social norms of our society so i end up feeling guilty about it tattoos?

needles and blood. like one time (a few months ago) my school held a blood drive and i decided to do it bc if i did id get a cord for my graduation and also my friend was doing it. when i went i was a little anxious but it wasnt horrible. however, by the time they started checking my iron i was a little more stressed and by the time they finished checking my iron (which involved pricking my finger and getting my blood which i watched and this was my mistake) and told me i was good to go to the donation area i was feeling very anxious and stressed and this is all a long winded backstory to me saying that i fainted the moment i stood up after getting my iron checked before i could even start donating blood

fun fact: still ended up getting the cord because apparently i "tried" favourite childhood sport? i guess at some point i loved tennis as a kid since i begged my mom to play it as a kid. this didnt turn out well as i ended up hating it after a few years but was forced to continue by my mom to the point that i would get like stress stomach aches bc of how much i didnt want to do it and when i was finally allowed to stop i ended up hating tennis so much that to this day i refuse to watch it do you talk to yourself?
