🍺 "So, Liam. This hasn't been asked yet, but... what do you think about that Alice chick?"
Send 🍺+ a question and my muse will answer drunk! || @alicehart
“What about her?” Liam rose a red brow, resting his elbow on the bar. “She’s cute, fun, with a hint of a mystery behind those bright blue eyes. I’d say those eyes have seen somethings but then again, so have mine.” A shrug would follow his words before he’d continue. “I like her, she’s really something special. The rest I’m just going to have to figure out as I go.”

LITTLE HEADS UP: I had you Frankenstein this post together with sources from the BBC The Daily Mail and the mirror in order to get what I believe is a full telling of the story thus far.
That being said this post might still have a few redundancies.
This is a man who was accused of a crime.
The police investigated the crime and they discovered evidence that could have cleared his name.
They CONCEALED that evidence and instead of exonerating him and letting him go.
On his day they turned it to a prosecutor, the prosecutor went after him with the evidence in hand and CONCEALED it from the defense team. An only when they changed prosecutors did they discover this evidence.
Had they not switched prosecutors this man could very well be in prison and the court would have never known what they had done.
The Met Police is to hold an "urgent" review of a rape case after being accused of failing to disclose vital evidence.
Sheer incompetence' by police meant that texts about an alleged rape victim's fantasies of violent and casual sex were kept secret and an innocent student was put on trial after two years on bail, a prosecutor revealed today. Barrister Jerry Hayes claims the detective in charge told him sexual messages sent by the woman to Liam Allan and her friends were 'too personal' to share.
But in fact they 'blew the case out of the window' and police had failed to even look at them because of 'sheer incompetence', he said.
The CPS is also being asked to explain why it did not demand full disclosure of evidence including phone records before the trial started.
The texts revealed the woman asked Mr Allan for casual sex and fantasised about rough and violent intercourse and even being raped despite telling police she didn't like being intimate with men.
Judge Peter Gower stopped the trial at Croydon Crown Court yesterday and describing the moment the suspect found out Mr Hayes said: ‘Obviously he was happy but this has been hanging over his head for years. He could have had his life totally trashed. That was awfully wrong'.
Mr Allan said he had been ‘betrayed by the system’ and his mother Lorraine sobbed as she said her son had been treated as
'guilty until you can prove you are innocent',
adding: 'I knew the truth'.Today Scotland Yard launched an 'urgent assessment' of its handling of Mr Allan's case but there are calls for an independent investigation. -Source taken from The Daily Mail UK
Liam Allan, 22, was charged with 12 counts of rape and sexual assault.
<I’m not sure “incompetence” is the first word that will come to mind.
The charges against the criminology student were dropped three days into the trial at Croydon Crown Court when Mr Hayes took over the case.
'Villain to innocent'
It is understood police had looked at thousands of phone messages when reviewing evidence in the case, but had failed to disclose to the prosecution and defence teams messages between the complainant and her friends which cast doubt on the allegations against Mr Allan.
The CPS said it offered no evidence in the case on Thursday as there was "no longer a realistic prospect of conviction".
Mr Allan told the BBC he was "overwhelmed" at the moment, adding: "It's a huge amount of confusion to go from being the villain to being innocent."
He also told The Times he had suffered two years of "mental torture...
I feel betrayed by the system which I had believed would do the right thing — the system I want to work in."
Mr Hayes said there had very nearly been "a massive miscarriage of justice" which could have led to Mr Allan being imprisoned for 12 years and being put on the sex offenders register for life.
He said the disk contained information which "completely blew the prosecution case out of the water", although he believed the information had not been disclosed because of "sheer incompetence".
"The trouble is everyone is under pressure... This is a criminal justice system which is not just creaking, it's about to croak," he said.
The BBC's Legal Correspondent Clive Coleman said he understood the defence had asked repeatedly for the phone messages to be disclosed, which included details saying how the alleged victim had spoken to friends about how much she enjoyed having sex with Mr Allan.
Mr Allan's solicitor Simone Meerabux said when her client was arrested he had told police about the existence of the messages but "in spite of all that he was charged".
She said prior to the trial the CPS had told them there was "nothing further to disclose" and it was only after they reiterated their request on the first day in court that the information was made available.
A Met spokesman said the force was "urgently reviewing this investigation and will be working with the Crown Prosecution Service to understand exactly what has happened in this case.
"The Met understands the concerns that have been raised as a result of this case being dismissed from court and the ongoing review will seek to address those," he said.
A spokesman for the CPS said: "In November 2017, the police provided more material in the case of Liam Allan. Upon a review of that material, it was decided that there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.
"We will now be conducting a management review together with the Metropolitan Police to examine the way in which this case was handled."
- Source taken from the BBC
Chief prosecutor Alison Saunders has made a high profile push to bring more sex attack cases to court and asked her lawyers to trawl through a man's relationship history to boost conviction.
The number of rapes reported to police has gone from around 13,000 in 2002 to 45,000 last year but in 2014 it emerged a quarter of sex offences - including rape - were never recorded as crimes.
The prosecutor and former Tory MP said he and the CPS had no idea a disc of the woman's messages even existed until the trial started.
He said as soon as the defence got them they realised the texts 'blew the case out of the window.
He also said last night: 'I would like to apologise to Liam Allan. There was a terrible failure in disclosure which was inexcusable'.
He added: 'The trouble is everyone is under pressure. This is a criminal justice system which is not just creaking, it's about to croak'.
Liam Allan, 22, was on bail for almost two years and spent three days at Croydon Crown Court in the dock before his trial was stopped yesterday.
The judge has called for an inquiry after the trial of a student accused of rape collapsed after police failed to reveal she sent him messages asking for casual sex and revealing her own violent sexual fantasies.
-Source taken from The Daily Mail UK
Mr Allan said he has “no choice” but to sue police and the Crown Prosecution Service, who have yet to offer an apology. But he added: “I’m happy to work with the CPS and police to help ensure things change.

SIDE NOTE (1) Police refuse to say if they have suspended 'incompetent' rape detective and team
The Met has today refused to say if the detective shamed by the CPS' prosecutor is still at work today.
Jerry Hayes said the officer in charge of the case failed in his 'duty' to properly review evidence and hand it to the CPS.
But a Met spokesman said they would not 'speculate' on whether the lead officer or his team were working.
The force would not comment on whether they will re-interview the woman at the centre of the case, although their statement referred to her as 'the victim'.
Scotland Yard launched an 'urgent assessment' after a rape prosecution collapsed due to the late disclosure of evidence which undermined the case against Liam Allan.
Police are understood to have looked at thousands of phone messages when reviewing evidence but it was not until the prosecution was close to trial that Met officers disclosed messages between the complainant and her friends which cast doubt on the case against him.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: 'We are aware of this case being dismissed from court and are carrying out an urgent assessment to establish the circumstances which led to this action being taken.
'We are working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service and keeping in close contact with the victim whilst this process takes place.'
In 2013 it emerged that up to a third of all rape allegations made to the Met in some boroughs were never recorded as crimes in 2012.
In the same year then Scotland Yard chief Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has apologised to victims of rapes who were pressured by police into withdrawing their allegations in 2008 and 2009.
SIDE NOTE (2) CPS boss ALISON SAUNDERS 'inflated rape conviction figures and doesn't understand how a trial works'
Britain's top prosecutor Alison Saunders was recently accused of inflating rape conviction figures and having little idea of how rape trials work.
Ms Saunders has repeatedly come under fire over the CPS handling of sex allegations because innocent men have had their lives destroyed on the basis of spurious claims later rejected in court.
In August this year she said that men accused of rape will have more of their relationship history put under the microscope during trials in a bid to increase convictions rates.
Britain's top prosecutor told lawyers to focus on a man's behaviour in the run up to the alleged sex attack rather than just the immediate moments before.
But in October she was blasted by a watchdog for claiming the number of rape convictions is more than double the real figure.
She was warned that the hugely inflated figures in a report on violence against women were 'misleading'.
And was told in a letter from the UK Statistics Authority that the true number of people convicted of rape last year was under 1,400. This is less than half the 3,000 she alleged in the report by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) earlier that month.
The huge gap is because the CPS includes crimes that were originally investigated as rapes but later downgraded to less serious offences.
yeah I don’t believe the pursuit of Justice has shortcuts.

It had been a fun long evening together on the town. Alice had suggested they try going to a few museums and bar hop along the way. Summer was ending and the midnight breeze was crisp. Liam, like a gentleman, escorted Alice to her door. Sigh, the worst part of the evening… having to say good night and watch as he walked away. Would it be too much to ask him to come in and stay a little while? Even if they just chat… but Alice wouldn’t object if things got a little friskier than that. Speaking of which… perhaps the man had earned himself a little treat?
As they ascend the steps of her stoop, Alice turned to face Liam. Standing a few steps behind the short statured women, the two now stood face to face… almost. Let’s not give Alice that much credit.
“Now I’m as tall as you.”
Almost.
“You know…,” Alice begins to speak, gripping onto his waist and gently nudging the man closer, “There’s a little something that I think is overdue.” And why it took so long to get to this point? Alice didn’t know.
She takes a step forward, closing the gap between them, chest to chest. She could feel each cold breath he made, which seemed to only quicken.
Their blue eyes lock as Alice stands on her toes. One hand slowly slides up the back of his head, gently gripping him by his hair and pulling him down closer.
And she slips a kiss between his lips.
“I made it myself,” she whispers, “None if that fake wax chocolate.”
Hit me with your best kiss || @alicehart
Green eyes raise to gaze over at Alice when she turned to face him, a soft chuckle falling from his lips. He didn’t put up any sort of fight when she moved him closer, in fact, his hands may have found their way to her waist in return. He didn’t comment on the way it felt to have the warmth of her frame so close to his or the perfection that was her waist against the palm of his hands. A red brow rose at her words, a gleam within those deep eyes.
It shouldn’t have been as surprising at it was when their lips finally met, her warmth combined with the cold of his own was a rather alluring mix and nothing more than a tease of the many things this woman had to offer. The hands on her waist tighten just the slightest as he returned her kiss, one sliding around to wrap his strong arm around her and to pull her ever closer.
When she pulls away, his lips part to release a soft breath as he stared into those vivid blue eyes. He doesn’t let go, not just yet, instead he keeps his arm around her, admiring the woman he had slowly gotten to know of these past few months. There was just something about her that had drawn him in and he couldn’t seem to get enough. “Hm, I must say, those are the very best kind.”
He was tempted to lean in and steal another kiss from her, they were still so close and her soft lips were oh so kissable and ripe for the taking. However, Liam restrained himself, his arm slipping from around her back now to take residence upon her waist once more. “I must say, if this is how I can expect a night out with you to end, I might just have to do it more often.”

"I dare you to catch me and spin me above your head." - To Liam
Truth or dare || @alicehart
Well, he had to hand it to her for her creativity. A grin formed across his cold lips, arms spreading wide. “Well, what are ya waiting for, love?” He chuckled, watching her with gleaming eyes as leaped towards him. Cold hands caught her at the waist, noting the warmth of the curves that lay hidden beneath the fabric of her clothes as he began to spin her.
He held her up high, keeping his balance easily as he spun her for a few moments, a chuckle falling from his lips. After another moment, he pulled her down, setting her gently upon her with nothing more than a few inches of space separating them as he gazed down at her. “So, how was that? Hope it was how you pictured it would be, sweetheart.” With that said, he cast her a wink, it had been a long time since he’d done anything like that.

A smirk crawled its way across cold lips, forest green eyes gleaming in amusement. Well, they’d been playing their little game for quite some time now and it had seemed things were certainly taking a turn, though whether that turn was for good or not was still to be seen. However, Liam certainly wasn’t minding any of it so far, aside from the moments where he lost himself to his past, things still seemed rather good between him and Alice and he couldn’t deny that a comment like this from her felt rather good to hear, something he hadn’t been able to say for a very long time. “Same to you, love,” as if to make a point, he let those eyes of his to travel along the length of her frame, taking in every inch before slowly raising to meet her eyes once more. “Feel free to look as much as you’d like, though don’t be shy, you’re welcome to touch too.” A wink followed his words, wondering if she’d actually take him up on his offer.

♥ When they have a crush on someone, how do they let them know? For Liam
Relationship and courting || @alicehart
The way Liam shows that he is crushing on someone varies from person to person. Generally, he doesn’t come right out and say it though, it’s more seen in the way he acts. You’ll have his full attention when you’re with him, the amount of time spent with someone will increase and he might make random appearances and has even been known to simply pick up the person (literally) and run off to who knows where just to have some fun. If they have a set pattern like Liam and Alice do, he’ll start to deviate from that while still maintaining their normal routine. So he’ll appear at the bar just like always but suddenly he might just pop up at her door to take her somewhere else or even just to go to the bar but walk with her there or something along those lines. He’ll smile more often, and they’ll be genuine too. You’ll even find him doodling on napkins and sketching the woman even when he’s not meaning to.
Art comes naturally to him so when something or someone is lingering in his subconscious in a good way, he just can’t really stop himself. Eventually, he will say something, but it takes a while to get there and is usually after a lot of thoughts and reflecting on the past, him going through the motions of figuring out exactly what it is he’s feeling before he finally just comes right out and says it. He’s not an overly romantic guy so it won’t be this romantic confession but generally just something very simple and very clear of his intentions.

✘ = hugging them
It was hard for the vampire to recall exactly how they had gotten here, most likely due to Alice dragging him out of the bar. They had both been drinking quite a bit, though that wasn’t really anything new. However, what was surprising was the feeling of her arms wrapping around him, Liam freezing as his body tensed at first. He tried to think back to the last time he’d actually been hugged before, it was so long ago, a time he’d rather not recall at this moment and he had almost forgotten how good it could feel. It only took a moment for him to bring himself back, his own arms returning the embrace though his was far colder than hers no matter how gently he held her. “Alice,” he called out playfully, glazed green eyes glancing down at her. “I think you’ve have too much to drink.”

😈 Jump out of the shadows to scare/startle my muse psycho love
Nonverbal starters || @sanctuary-in-dreams
He had to hand it to her, it was cute that she was even trying. Not that she really knew just how well he could hear her movements and he could practically feel those scheming hazel eyes on him as he moved. But, he continued on as if he hadn’t noticed a thing, not even the smallest quirk of his lips as he walked and waited patiently for her to jump out. The moment she did, his arms circled around her, pulling her against him in one fell swoop as laughter rang out from his lips. “Ah! Oh no! The monster’s here to get me and I’m shaking in my boots!”

“Could you hold my hand?” [ from smol rin to liam ! u vu ]
Love the fluff || @aestuavis
Liam had gone years on his own, the pain of his past causing him to avoid getting close to anyone, no matter the reason. Even when it seemed like he was letting someone close, they would still always remain at arm’s length. It was that fear of losing someone he cared for again, the everlasting ache of the betrayal he faced that had convinced him that he was better off alone. That it wasn’t worth it, worth risking all that pain once more. The pain that had brought him closer to death than that vampire ever could.
But, something about this small woman, perhaps it was because of that far too sweet personality, the way she cared for others without worry of what it would bring onto herself. He always found himself at a loss for words around her, unsure of exactly how to react. She took his snark, yet never gave it back. Instead, she’d return it with kindness, a certain gentleness that he was unfamiliar with. So when those words left her lips, forest green eyes darted to meet her gaze, a red brow raising as he gazed at her silently for a moment. And then, without a word said, his cold hand took hers in it, turning his face away from her. Why did it find it impossible to say no to her?

|| Send me ⚠ to find my muse at the end of a trail of blood. || @alicehart ||
Heavy pants fell from cold lips, the sickeningly sweet metallic scent of his own blood thick in the air. The stinging in his neck, the feeling all too familiar from so many years ago. It had all happened so fast, Liam was almost unsure of exactly what had happened. He had found him. The one that had changed his life so long ago. The vampire that had taken everything from him. He had finally found him but it seemed that the fates simply despised him. How could he have ever known that it had been him who had attacked and killed his parents? That had been the cause of his own death before being revived by Ichirou?
But the redhead never could have imagined what he’d find once he tracked down the one who did this to him. The immense strength, the bloodlust that lurked within those pitch black eyes. The worst part of all, it was the overwhelming sense of sovereignty. All the man had done was look at him and he felt this crushing need to kneel before him. And right then and there, well that was when Liam had realized it. It hit him like a semi. This wasn’t no ordinary vampire. He wasn’t even a Pureblood. No. He was much worse. He was one of the firsts.
No words had ever been exchanged, simply the meeting of deep green eyes with those that seemed soulless before he was on him. He had tried to get away but Dionysus was far too fast. To strong. And as the original vampire sunk his teeth into the changeling, he felt his life quickly fading. The rest is but a blur, Liam wasn’t even sure if he had fought back. Now here he was, laying in the middle of the disgusting alley, what little remained of his blood seeping from his neck and onto the cement beneath him.
He barely noticed the sound of approaching footsteps, eyes staring up at the sky and wondering why the stars suddenly seemed so much more beautiful than before. He doesn’t see the figure standing over him at this point, what was once green eyes now a glowing crimson and his fangs easy to see behind the lips that seemed unable to catch a decent breath. “It’s such… A lovely night…” He’d say, words barely above a whisper, a hint of the old Irish accent of his parents lingering in his tone. “Maybe… Just a nap… I’m so tired…”

“Ooh, whatcha gonna do about it babe?” The vampire snickered, clearly, he was going to do exactly what she didn’t want him to. This time, instead of pulling them back up, he left them to sit just passed his rear, walking away from her at a leisurely pace though there was a bit of dance to his step as if to tease her even more.

“ i swear to god i’m going to scream at the top of my lungs. “ (Annabel to Liam, from the 'random sentence starters' meme! Bc I SWEAR we had a thread with them a LONG time ago?)
Inbox call || @carnivorarium
It had been a long night, far longer than the vampire liked to admit. The weight of his sigh, the way forest green eyes shifted to meet that woman again, even down to the slack and exhausted posture of the Irishman, all clear signs of just how little he wanted to deal with her at this very moment. He couldn’t even believe that he had run into her again of all people. What kind of shit was that?
The last time they had met, things hadn’t gone so well. Then again, she had stumbled upon him during a rather... private time and unfortunately for her, he simply hadn’t had enough to sate his hunger and she had almost, but not quite, fallen victim to those fangs of his that now lay hidden behind the veil of his human form. Did she have the shitty luck or was it him? How was it she managed to find him at the worst possible times?
“Anyone ever tell ya how annoying you are, lady?” Cold fingers press to his temple, if he could get a headache he’d swear it was because of this woman. “Ya scream and watch how quickly I rip out your throat,” Liam growled, hopefully, she wouldn’t pick up on the bluff behind his words. His vampire side may have taken over the last time they met, turning him into a creature with no morals, but this time he was himself and in full control. He hoped that that experience was enough to scare her into thinking he’d do it again.
“I really don’t feel like dealing with this shit again, can we skip the foreplay and go straight for the fun?” He stood up straighter, an attempt to make her feel more intimidated by the height difference between them before taking a step closer. “Like you fucking getting the hell away from me and never bothering me again?”

A toddler with vibrant red hair, forest green eyes, and too many freckles to count had just arrived in America. Born in Ireland, he couldn’t help but stare in awe at the vast cities that a country such as this could have. His parents wanted something new, a better life for their precious little Liam. They arrived with practically nothing and managed to make a pretty decent living. His father became a carpenter, the mother staying home to take care of their son.
As he grew up, Liam started to show quite an interest in art. Always the polite young vivacious child grew into the perfect gentleman. Fresh out of college, his art had already started selling quickly for how modern it was and set a new trend among the world of artists. When he made enough money, he opened up his own art gallery. It was his way of giving new artists a chance to be seen. Displaying their art in his gallery was something he took pride in.
Eventually, during a fourth of July festival, he met a woman. She eventually became his fiance some time later. Liam was head over heels for her and didn’t notice the signs as they started to reveal themselves. The way she started to grow a bit colder the longer it took for them to get married or the way she was trying to shut him off from his parents or any of his friends.
When it had been far too long since he last seen his parents, they had called and pleaded with him to come see them. He agreed, planning to spend the weekend with them and his fiance only agreed with the promise of treating her to something special when he got back. But he did return, he wasn't the same man any longer.
The first night as he slept in his old bedroom, he had woke up to a noise. In his haze of being half asleep, he had briefly wondered if it had been a dream but decided to check on everything just to make sure. As he walked down the hall towards his parents bedroom, he was hit full force with the strong metallic scent that could easily be recognized as blood. It was then that any hint of sleep was cleared from his mind and he could hear the faint whimpering of his mother.
He rushed in, calling out to his parents in the dark room and the urge to vomit grew when the scent became even stronger. He struggled to see, making out one form laying completely still in the bed and just a few feet away was another. Two actually. One with piercing red eyes as it held onto his mother’s form before suddenly dropping her to the ground. Before Liam could react, the figure was on him. He felt the sting as fangs penetrated the skin of his neck, knew he couldn’t get away as his life slowly began to fade.
He doesn't remember what happened after that, simply woke up to a pair of emerald green eyes and the heavy taste of blood in his mouth. But for some reason, it tasted good to him. And suddenly he wanted more. So much more that it had him panicking. The one standing over him turned out to be Ichirou, a Pureblood vampire who had turned him. Over the next couple of weeks, Ichirou trained him, taught him everything he would need to know about his new life.
Finally, he was able to return to his fiance, after having been missing for weeks, finding his parents dead they had assumed he was kidnapped and possibly dead too. And when he showed back up at their door, he didn’t get the greeting he had been expecting. He was first met with the shocked features of his wife, but she wasn't alone. She had already moved on, a new man in her life. In their home. Sleeping in the bed Liam had bought, living in the house that was still in his name.
She, for once in her life, was honest with him. Told him she wanted nothing to do with him, had only wanted him for his money and that she had been planning to hire someone to kill him a few years after their marriage so she could get everything. Heartbroken, he had lost everything but his return meant she would get nothing from his inheritance. Instead, he took everything he had and fled in search of the one who had changed his life forever. Little does he know that the vampire that had killed his parents, and almost even him was one of the first vampires, one of the originals and there would be nothing he could do to him to get his revenge.
