@tomeofwanderersâ || Starter Call
Gregor
      âIf it not too bold of, Gregor, I would like to speak with you about a rumour I heard,â
   Despite her words, the sageâs tone is light and warm-- the normal sort when speaking to her partner, but not for most others. Of course, she is not here to chastise him or the like, but instead verify if a certain story happens to be true, and he still has an interest in repeating it in the near future. It would need planning, if the latter is the case, for a couple presiding over two lands may not win the favour of the people, nor the leaders of surrounding kingdoms-- even passing down the throne to Robin may backfire.
      âThey say you once fought with Basilio for the title of West-Khan... Would that be true?â
   She pauses for a moment, if only to gauge Gregorâs reaction to her words-- to see if they match up with whatever his response shall be, even if the mother does not believe he would lie to her about something like that.Â
      âI did not think you would be the sort wanting to rule land. I suppose I am curious as to why you did that, if it is true.â

Ship Roulette || {Accepting!}
@alispun
1. Cigyun/Sylgr
{ ooc. Mums who deserved better tbh. I think Cigyun wouldnât be looking for any sort of romantic relationship due to the whole situation her first (and last) affair caused-- I mean, it was traumatic enough to make her run away and leave Arvis behind. That being said, if Sylgr showed her kindness, I think that, with time, sheâd feel comfortable opening up to her and forming a friendship. Unfortunately, Cigyunâs... been through too much, and had her trust betrayed so much by the man she loved (on top of him getting shitty with her when she tried to interact with others) that she struggles to form friendships. }
2. Nuibaba/Cherche
{ ooc. Cherche, honey, run }
3. Altena/Orochi
{ ooc. I think their personalities would clash a bit-- or, at the very least, their differences would annoy Altena a little. Maybe they could find common ground over time, but initially? Nah... I think sheâd struggle keeping a conversation with Orochi }
4. Naeva/Kaze
{ ooc. Tbh I donât ship Naeva with anyone but Validar or exceptions like Gregor, mainly because it contradicts her character. I will also admit that I donât really have a fates verse for Naeva anymore-- I need to get around to fixing it--, but sheâd probably come from Nohr or Nestra.. That being said, I do think these two would get along, even if it means bonding over not-so-bright topics and stuff like that. Kaze wouldnât be the sort of person to rub Naeva the wrong way, if that makes sense, so sheâd talk to him a bit- }
5. Aesir/Kallisto
{ ooc. First of all, Aesir is 17 and Kallisto is 23(?)... so no. But I think, if Kallisto ever felt like... stressed, having to live up to a certain image people expect of her because sheâs the summoner... Aesir would be able to relate to that. He kind of feels the same, but in regards to living up to his fatherâs legacy. Heâd 100% support her. }

âReady?!â
   The single word left the girlâs pale pink lips before swinging her practice sword out to the side, leveling the wooden hilt with her hip before taking an offensive stance--looking ready to spring forward with a charge at any moment. The girlâs brow is furrowed, yet a small smile plays on her lips--she isnât angry with the man sheâs boldly challenged, nor this is sparring match done out of ill-will, but rather borne from two main reasons. The first simply being Morgan enjoys sparring matches with different people--she enjoys sparring with her brother or father, yes, but she knows their styles as well as they know her own, so sparring with them can get a bit stale. Compare that to sparring with people with totally different styles, and itâs enough to make the girlâs dark eyes sparkle with anticipation, as she is never one to turn down a challenge, much like her father. Yet the second reason for this whole ordeal isnât as pure as far as intentions go--not when the young girl plans on secretly sizing up the otherâs power and capability. Of course, Morgan is aware Gregor is a skilled fighter, but how skilled is what she wants to know--if he cannot stand his ground against her, then is really capable of protecting Naeva and himself in the event of an emergency? Not that the sage couldnât defend the both of them, but, still--it would give the girl some peace of mind, if nothing else.
  âBrace yourself!â
   And with that, the young female charges forward, jumping up when about an armâs length away from the man, and after a small spin in the air to give her strike more force, she aimâs her weapon for his own.

GAME 10 FATED RALLY V SOLAR SPECTACULARS
   KICK THEIR BUTTS MOM AND MORGAN!!Â
   Er... I mean... Our teams look more than pumped than ever after a taste of victory. The finals are so very close, so letâs see what theyâve got planned!
   Prince Marth earns Fated Rally an immediate point with an immaculate serve that lands right at Valterâs feet! Did you even try to hit that? Captain Claraâs up next with a beautiful serve, but Cynthiaâs no stranger to beautifully made moves, and knocks it right back! She put a lovely little spin on that ball which trailed right off Danielleâs reaching fingertips to land in bounds behind her! Nicely done to tie the score!
  Soliel takes the serve, aiming to take down Marth in what Iâd call a strategic move after his first play. He jumps with all his might, but manages to miss! Ah... but it looks like Nora was a bit over-anticipating his return volley... she starts to jump at a ball that didnât make it back, but trips in trying to stop and falls face-first into the sand! Umm. At least that didnât lose anyone a point? Solar Spectaculars up by one!
   Morgan and Shinion are staring each other down from opposite sides of the court. (Youâve got this, son!!!) Um, I said âTheyâve got this one!â A slick bump serve pops up from Morgan, but it looks like Shinion was ready for it, and fires it right back clear between his head and his shoulder... and down to in-bounds ground. (Hey!! Watch it! You could hit someone!) The teams are tied again!
   Gregorâs earned a serve, and looks a little too smug preparing the ball. He must know what heâs doing... A quick pop goes right into the middle of the court! Yuki, Owain, and Boey run for it! Boey stops to see whoâs taking it, Owain bounds in front of him and sets it up for Yuki! ... Who tries to bump it over the net with his head, but just sends it out of bounds. Well, at least that was entertaining. Perhaps some more communication, next time? Fated Rally takes the lead.
   Owain goes for redemption... but Xander blocks! But Owain counters! ...But the ball goes out of bounds. Thatâs just a no score, Iâm afraid...
   Olwen takes the serve for Fated Rally with a delicate overhand. Gerome gets a perfect setup for Soleil who sends another killer shot whizzing past the net! Lydia looks more afraid of that speeding bit of vinyl and... steps away, letting it sink a crater into the sand! Yeesh... The serve transfers again.
   Kiran looks like she knows all these players all to well, and smacks the ball right towards Gregor! He barely manages to make it with a bump up into the air which wasnât really a great set for anyone, but at least keeps it in play! LâArachel palms it with a little more grace to Felicia... but she trips in the sand on her way there and gives Solar Spectaculars the point.Â
   Soleil serves again, and the ball gets absolutely locked up near the net! Shinion tries to spike, but Claire blocks, sending the ball right at Kiran! She sets in Robynâs direction, but at such an awkward angle Robyn has to dive, and even though her arms get under the ball it... blasts right into Naevaâs chin! Please tell me that didnât make you bite your tongue, mother! No one could have seen that coming... (Stop attacking your own team Solars! Especially my family!)
   I canât tell what sheâs saying, but it looks like Aversaâs trying to mess with the other team. All it really seems to be doing is distracting Claire who makes a messy serve. It manages to clear the net, and Cynthia jumps for it with a cute little twist, but ah... that ball stayed a mess of direction and spin, and sheâs hit it right to the side of the court and out of bounds. Fated Rally takes the lead again in this neck and neck game!
   Aversa takes the final serve, cleverly aiming right for Soleil and her power arm. Shinion moves to block a return, but it turns out to be an unnecessary stance as Soleil just doesnât move quick enough for that precise fire overhand. I donât often give Aversa credit, but that was well-played, earning Fated Rally another and final point.Â
   Congratulations! Somehow... I canât feel all that personally excited, though. My apologies... Still, that was a close game, great job all of you! Fated Rally - we will see you in the finals!
VICTOR: FATED RALLY!
Solar Spectaculars mvp: Soleil Fated Rally mvp: Aversa

{Headcanon!}
{ ooc. So this is regarding a certain section from the Art of Awakening that has left quite a few people scratching their heads, and rightfully so
Dark Magic The power to call a curse down upon a target. But dark magic is not necessarily evil. It can also be used to divine a person's location or, depending on the spell, to increase someoneâs health. Therefore, it can be considered a neutral magic. There are also dark magic techniques that can allow one to switch bodies, to make someone else relive time, or even to speak with the dead. Plegia, the stronghold of worship of Grima, has advanced the art of dark magic and boasts many extremely accomplished sorcerersâ starting with the head of the Grimleal, Validar.
   Specifically, the line regarding how dark magic can be used to âdivine a personâs locationâ. The source then goes on to say that Validar is an âextremely accomplishedâ sorcerer, if not one of the most ones that Plegia currently has, considering that it starts with him rather than, say, Henry, Tharja or Aversa.
   So if this is the case, Validar shouldâve been able to track down Robinâs mother in an instant, right? But he says in Chapter 23 âI know naught of your life thereafterâ, which implies that he never even had a clue in regards to where she or Robin even was. So how could this be? All of this implies that the curses never worked. We could say Validar never thought to try and divine her location, but that sounds extremely ooc for someone like him. If anything, itâd be the first thing heâd do, and a few of us agreed that we could see his descent into really dangerous magic, and hence the state you see in awakening, being a result of none of these curses working, and triggering some destructive mix of frustration and obsession.    That leaves us with two options as to why the curses never work-- either something was protecting Robinâs mother from them, or the curses never stuck. The latter is something I highly doubt, as the only explanations weâre giving to them just not working is either someoneâs willpower being too high (from Henry and Sullyâs support), or the caster not know the personâs true name (Tharja and Gregorâs support). We can immediately throw out the latter option, as I highly doubt Validar wouldnât know his own wifeâs name. The former on itâs own thought just doesnât feel like itâd be enough to counteract a curse from him, considering how Henry is then able to find a stronger curse, and that seems to work, and the book goes out of its way to state that heâs extremely accomplished in what he does.
   Thankfully, however we also see that talismans in awakening serve more of a purpose than just being an item that boosts resistance. Through various dialogue in awakening, we see that they can be used to bring good luck, ward off evil, or change someoneâs personality entirely-- the latter case being Noire. These items appear on members of the Grimleal, too, such as Ardri and Validar, meaning that they must have some sort of religious purpose, or be prominent in Plegia, which goes to support this headcanon:
The reason why Validar could never divine Naevaâs location is due to the fact that she carried on her form a particularly strong talisman which effectively prevented the curses from sticking. Said talisman was something given to her and crafted by him, during the time she was carrying Robin, in an attempt to try and prevent anything from going wrong with the pregnancy. You would imagine that he would have made the talisman as strong as he couldâve, considering that said child was predicted to be the vessel to their god, and losing them was a risk he couldnât take, for obvious reasons.    So, unable to overcome his own power, no curses of his could ever really work on her, hence he was never able to figure out where she was, and eventually gave up, most likely after realising she probably has said talisman on her.Â
   She still carries it with her to this day. }
