“Wells, wait!” Jasper called out to the chancellor’s son, breathing heavy as he tried to catch up. “I’m coming with you.” He nodded, he knew he was getting a team together and he wanted in on it. He couldn’t stand to be in the camp anymore stuck waiting, watching for something to happen.

Nervous fingers pushed the oversized goggles back into place as he approached her. His pockets were heavy with the few goodies he had stolen from the overseer’s room, knowing they would not be pissed. It wasn’t much, but maybe enough to cheer her up. He remembered how happy she was to get the medicine they needed, maybe this would make that smile stay in place. That was if he could get the worlds out. Words waged a war upon him, a stutter leaving him unable to express himself most of the time--he wasn’t sure he could do this. . The other kids mocked him, but she was always kind. A kindness he never deserved. Hopeful chestnut eyes lifting as he stops in front of her. “Hey, O-Octavia, can I sit?”
