#dusted off my ancient yt account because the file was too big for tumblr#and too big for any free video compression site lol#no sketch for this one because i used the prepped canvas that came with the brushies and as i've said before i hate drawing on those#(it's the size that throws me off)#but tbh in the future i don't think i'll be using it i can just brush the canvas texture over or under the painting with my own two hands#anyway-!!!#it's my favourite of the studies i've done tbh!!#for one. i love the original painting so much and i'm pretty pleased to have been able to share a bit of estonian art history with you all#and also because it feels more like My Own too#i had to think about the colours and how they fit into the composition more#whereas with the others i could just straight up copy what i saw with only the most minor adjustments for hair/colour#timelapse tag#i draw sometimes

#horizontober2023#horizon forbidden west#hfw#aloy#tenakth dragoon#a redo/reimagining of the shot that really started my creative vp journey#i mean i'd used photomode plenty before that one#but i hadn't *really* gotten into trying to coax aloy into weird positions/pausing mid movement to get shots#and since then i've tried out a lot more post-photomode editing - like my favorite of the over/under water split shot#also it was the first in the face(paint)s series - which i still need to finish T_T - and for a while that really pushed me creatively#i tried something different this time re: waterline and it was much easier#not sure it works quite as well? or would be doable on a different shot? but i'm satisfied#it would be a dream for guerrilla to let us do this in-game in H3...#hfw underwater

The other one came up with three separate ace attorney comic ideas in the last hour alone and isn't stopping anytime soon

This one is hard to explain but it would be good#I WANT TO DRAW FRANZISKA TOO i have an angst comic idea for her! And i want to draw her as a kid in dance class#i feel like she has so much scrutiny of herself which is very “i was in dance as a kid” coded. Ballet probably#I ALSO have a comic idea of a holiday party that took place before miles' murder trial but after steel samurai case#where miles begrudgingly talks to phoenix to avoid small talk with strangers and they talk about college#specifically like. it is canon to me that phoenix was in an improv group in college. That's where he learned to bluff. he's so silly#i also want to make a comic of the parents at trucy's school trying to sus out how old nick is#since he's only like what 17 years older than her?#I also want to make a gilmore girls joke but i can't tell if this is too dated to be funny. Do people know this show still#i had never watched it before so i just watched like half a season of it just to make a joke. It's cute.#What Else. Finally has been a full year since I started listening

#/j#but anyway I've finally been jashing for a year#i wasn't fully kidnapped into it yet but by like dec 20th-23rd i had his VoaC cover on loop#which was annoying to do cos there was no spotify & the youtube app wouldn't let me loop videos#so everytime i finished the song i had to reset the vid myself#my sanity was truly saved by these songs being on Spotify#same goes for his moss cover too#bro of i had last.fm then i would have SO much more counts for those two songs#the bidding too#oh fun fact. i made a very rough sketch of an OC of mine using his TME video & HMS ideas in general#but i was stupid apparently an swapped heart & souls colors which looks cursed now to me#also whats funny is that ibis paint says i started the art on Mar 1st. HOWDY FOLKS I've not drawn very much as of late since. uhhhh. SEVERAL things happened. but one of them is because i went to a miniature painting convention this past weekend!
it was super fun! here's a couple minis i painted-- first one was just for fun and i want to make her into a character now, second one i did in a class on painting with limited palettes! i did that with only three different colors of paint!
#thee colors. three bottles! didn't even use black or white! it was just a really dark blue. a magenta. and a yellow#*three colors. not thee hdsjhssjhd#anyway other reasons i haven't drawn much is. the weekend before that i was helping a friend with stuff#we had to. put kiki down last monday. that was not fun#and kiki's health had been declining for weeks before then#and I've been super busy packing and going back and forth between my parents and my apartment ~3 hrs away#and preparing for school. so yeah it's been. pretty busy as of late! I've done little doodles#here and there#and I've managed to join the aggies a few times#but yeah. owudoshdjdgdjdhfjgj#OH NORMAL TAGGING STUFF I SHOULD DO THAT#miniature painting#miniatures#idk actually... what to tag.... oh well!#OH I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER MINI I PAINTED don't have a picture for it yet#and i started working on a fourth but didn't end up finishing it before the convention ended

Damn, I didn't even realise that this year I've drawn every month! And this year I've finalised my Laurence design, designed Eileen (and many other characters that didn't give us canon appearance), split my previous Hemwick Caryll into two characters, drew an art commission (finally after 84 years.....) and finished three projects that got dropped into WIP folder 1-2 years ago! This year was waaaay more productive than I believed!
Not featured: me actually doing something cool for Inktober!

A character reference sheet sort of thing for the main character of the Poll Adventures, drawn more in my usual style (taking a picture of messy pencil sketches then coloring it digitally lol) rather than the cutesy ms paint style of the daily poll images .. there he is.. the adventure boy..

I forget how much I dislike coloring lol#I think if I did Neat Digital Art Lines that you can color in with the fill bucket tool it would be different but#since I can only really draw on phyiscal paper with a pencil and then just put that on the computer the lines are all too#messy for that to work. So I basically have to color it all coloring book style which is tedious#Honeslty I really like... physical art. like sculptures. and I like pencil and pen sketching . But I really dont like#most digital art at all. The exception is in MS paint for some reason. I think because I can use the bucket fill tool lol#and the pixelly lines give it some texture still. My main problem with digitial art lines is that they don't look like pencil on paper they#'re too “clean” like no scratchy messy texture looking stuff. Which I know you can use different brushes. I've tried. it just doesnt#have the same feel to it. ANYWAY.. Definitely need to practice more hjbjhb.. my anatomy and drawing fabrics and stuff#has gotten much more wonky than it used to be I think. but I've just been focusing so much more on writing#than drawing. Or only drawing the occasional sketch that goes along with writing (like worldbuilding stuff)#aside from Ms paint stuff I probably haven't really DRAWN like a full body sketch or face#or anything like that in maybe a year or more. yoink#OH ALSO i know his boots are different now because the poll voted to give him new boots ghjhbjb#I drew this before then. I actually thought more people would vote for the coat ToT#I wanted to draw him in a cool robe or something and have that be an addition to his outfit#instead just the shoes change. which aren't even visible in all drawings :(#A little purple outer coat. his favorite color. But alas.#And yeah the string that laces up his main tunic coat thing is technically like a tan yellowy sort of color but I usually#just draw it as black because it's easiest. especially with ms paint and doing really thin lines#also his hair is a little ridiculous and doesn't translate well from chibi type image to realistic but I tried gh.. the bangs lol...
