miku: the oc for everyone’s souls | accepting

What do you love about your muse? What do you hate about your muse? What about your muse amuses you? What about your muse makes you sad?

outside of this blog there’s genuinely a lot to love about miku!! she’s one of those characters that i’ve had the pleasure of watching grow and evolve, and as a result she’s definitely one of the longest muses i’ve ever had. if i have to specify something regarding the blog though, i guess it all boils down to just how out-of-the-box the concept of an anti-shadow weapon miku is and how well she’s been received. there’s… A LOT of questions to be asked i’m sure, and even i didn’t take the idea very seriously myself when it i joked about it when her DAN dlc was announced, but that’s kind of the magic of vocaloid as a whole: small, silly things grow into bigger and enticing things, and it draws people in. this blog is definitely nothing as big as an actual song series, but the general weirdness of the concept and how much people are like “YES I WANT THAT” is a thing i have some pride in.

as a muse specifically, miku’s probably one of the most openly kind and friendly muses i’ve ever had, and she always has been. she’s always changing, and no one’s interpretations are the same, but no matter what she’s a breath of fresh air that i can’t keep away from. sometimes you just need a break from sass and salt yanno?

something i hate… miku as i write her is considerably passive in personal situations, on top of having a pretty bad guilt complex; if someone she’s close to openly blames her for something, she won’t try especially hard to deny it, which drives her to try and fix the situation all on her own, no matter what it is. on the one hand, this is an important character flaw for miku, and it ties into her cognitive/shadow/whatever tf she is now self, but on the OTHER, she’s very resigned to the possibility that it’s always going to be like this, and just tries to cope with the cycle, instead of actively trying to break out of it. it’s stressful and also very self-reflective (which only makes it more stressful to try and portray i don’t need my personal business leaking through that much into rp u feel me).

as a blog, i know i’ve said it before, but while there’s (clearly) a lot of people who look at a persona miku and go “YEAH” there’s probably just as many who think it’s a joke. it’s impossible to avoid being silly, and i don’t intend to try, but, well. that is what it is.

miku’s expressiveness always makes me happy. like i said, she’s one of the most social muses i’ve ever had, and being social means a lot of different ways to react to situations and people. great for laughs, great for sads, great for potentially breaking hands, the possibilities are only limited by what’s in my icon folder! which is a lot of extra work considering how much content there is to sift through but lbr there’s not a whole lot i wouldn’t do for miku in general.

i feel like a broken record at this point with the “SHE’S A ROBOT” thing 24/7, but the fact of the matter is that it really is a downer for me, and it always has been for as long as she’s been a muse of mine. i think it has a lot to do with the fact that i have been riding the vocatrain since the start of miku’s reign as conductor, because as much about her there is that has changed, there’s just as much that hasn’t. i’m certainly not the only person who’s ever wondered how she must feel at times, being more or less immortal and relatively stagnant, and then tried to express that kind of feeling. at the end of the day she’s an ordinary girl in an extraordinary state of being; it’s a really lonely feeling to think about.

i’d like to actually do something with miku’s persona one day. like doing more combat/shadow op based threads in general would be nice but fleshing out calliope as a navisona is something i haven’t really done yet and i think it’d be p cool!
