Nuzlocke Update 30/12/2017

Hello everyone!

It’s been a fun ride, but this run is coming to a close. I’m all done with grinding and I have assembled the Final Five (if you’re confused then check the last post). Before I unveil the squad, I’d like to shoutout all the mons that have fought valiantly and helped me go through all the stepping stones towards getting toward the end of the game. 

Blondie, the Raichu. I have never mentioned this mon before in a post, but she was very instrumental in the later parts of the game as she served as a training buddy, where I level up lower leveled mons by using exp share. She is right now, lv 80, making her the highest member of my entire roster. Obviously I’m not allowed to use her in any important battle because of the level caps, but she was there as a safety net to ensure that I reach my goal with no drawbacks.

Chopma, the Machamp. The longest surviving member of my team. She is amazing. She hits like a truck and has carries so many battles. She’s seen many team members, she’s been through it all. It’s almost a sin that I’m not gonna include her in the final five. It’s because I feel she isn’t very much suited to deal with a lot of the elite four’s pokemon all that well. If the empty slot bonus wasn’t a thing, I would have definitely included her in the final team.

Boogie, the Quagsire. One of the oldest members. I caught him relatively early in the game. Even though he wasn’t the strongest member, he had some great moments like solo’ing Volkner. A great key member.

Bluegrass, the Tangrowth.  It was my first time using a Tangrowth, and I gotta say, it took me by surprise. She is VERY physically defensive and walled the hell out of many bad situations. She was the one who ended the nightmare that was the Candice fight. She’s just a great member who stuck around and did her thing.

Eskim, the Glalie. While he didn’t really do much; He still stood out because he was the one who took down Giratina. Even though it was a bit messy, he did the job. Couldn’t imagine anyone else doing any better, so that’s why he gets a mention.

All of the mons who perished. While it’s sad that so many had to go, I will never forget them, since many of them were potentially incredible pokemon. It sucks that I messed up and didn’t make the best decisions, they will still be remembered: Arson, the Monferno, Battery, the Luxio, Regan, the Gengar, Roll, the Golem, Bat 4, the Crobat, Big Tab, the Bronzong, Hela, the Houndoom and more. 

And now....for the main event. I spent so many hours figuring out the best possible team, movesets and items to handle the elite four members and all the hours grinding, it has come down to this. Say hello to the Final Five:

1-Flaremane, the Rapidash.

Fire types this run are kind of cursed; Arson, Hela and Coalmine, all fire types. All dead. It’s up to this fire horse to break the trend and avenge his fallen fiery brethren. He is my answer to Aaron’s team (excluding Drapion), Most of Lucian’s team and Cynthia’s Roserade. 

2-Lil Bertha, the Rhyperior.

Truly one of the team’s powerhouses. She rocks a mean 225 physical damage, Impish nature and a solid ability. Her attack puts even Chopma to shame. She’s been incredible thus far and really make me like Rhyperior a bit more. Gonna use her against Aaron’s Drapion, Flint’s entire team, a backup for Lucian and against  Cynthia’s Lucario.

3-Type: Lul, the Porygon-Z.

Yes, laugh all you want about his name, but he’ll be the one who’s laughing once he’s done with the elite four. He is relatively unproven, along with the three newcomers for the final five. He can really wreck face with his fantastic special attack, amazing ability of Adaptability and his great variety of moves. He will be my fail-safe, he can be used in pretty much any situation. But he will specifically shine against Bertha’s Whiscash, some of Lucian’s team and Cynthia’s Garchomp, Spiritomb and Milotic.

4-Inktober, the Octillery.

This is the team’s wild card. I’m taking a big risk using him since it’s the member that has me the most worried. I’m not sure exactly if he’ll do enough damage or even take hits that well. He is my ace against Bertha, his moveset is pretty much specifically designed to counter her completely, but I’m still a bit worried. Hopefully he won’t disappoint.

5-Juju, the Dusknoir.

The last member to round out the team. He’s very bulky, he’s more supportive and the most unique member. He will be my answer to Lucian and will nullify any physical attacker thanks to his Will-o-wisp. If I’m ever in a bad spot, he’ll be there to take the hit.

Well, I hope things turn out well! I will immediately jump into the pokemon League as soon as I’m done with my exam tomorrow. With the 2 week break I’ll have, I’m gonna have as much time as I want playing more Nuzlockes and shiny hunting. I can’t wait to do more runs in the future and hope you all do well in your Nuzlockes!
