Planned Starter for @bravewolfvesperia
Flynn should have been more prepared. He should have seen the warning signs. Yuri had never liked the vision orbs and even warned him that he would be projected up there one day, for all to see. Flynn, at the time, had quickly requested a change of topic at the time because the idea of Yuri being branded as a criminal was too much for him to handle at the time and he told himself he had more faith in Yuri than that. Yuri was genuinely a good person. He would never ever end up like that.
But then Captain Aegis from the kingdom of Medegal had been condemned for the crime of trying to run away with the Queen and then murdering her. Flynn knew instantly that it was a false crime. While he didn’t know the circumstances, he knew Aegis. Not on a deep personal level but he had plenty of interactions with the man and had even come to respect him and his convictions. He was loyal through and through and Flynn knew he would never betray the kingdom he served like that. The entire kingdom, from what he had seen, had held Aegis up onto a pedestal as the perfect knight. And within the hour, the entire world had turned their back on him.
If it was that easy for the world to turn their back on someone so cherished by the kingdom, he didn’t want to imagine what it would be like if one of his own appeared on that screen. They wouldn’t stand a chance. The world would gladly condemn a rat from the Lower Quarter with no second thoughts. The idea of it was terrifying.
That idea became reality and it was worse than Flynn had ever imagined.
Yuri Lowell. Accused of killing an innocent man in his own home in an attempt to rob him. That was the explanation that appeared along with the recording from the vision orb that night. Flynn had been on patrol in another town entirely, having been in the middle of a trip at the time. He remembered his blood running cold when he saw the face of his childhood friend– his best friend– appear on the Vision Central. He couldn’t remember how to breathe. He couldn’t blink, couldn’t look away, couldn’t even speak.
The story was spun by the man’s adult son who had come across the killing. He had rambled on about how Yuri had snuck in and had been caught trying to steal from the man’s coffer. When he was caught, he went in for the kill. If there were any protests for Yuri from the recording, Flynn didn’t hear them over the sounds of judgment that soon erupted from the people around him (Had he protested? Had he fought the accusations? Flynn wasn’t sure. Surely he did… he did, right?).
The Vision Central had never sounded so loud before and then after Yuri had been condemned and the recording showed the Enforcers appear on the screen, the recording died and Flynn wished that he had died along with it. Even after leaving Sodia in charge of the Squad so he could try and get back to Zaphias as fast as possible, when he returned to the Lower Quarter, he was too late. And when he nearly collapsed in the middle of the Lower Quarter, he barely registered the tearful voices of Hanks and the other residents as they helped him back to his feet.
Word was that the transgressor that killed that poor man had managed to escape the enforcers but the common opinion had been that it wouldn’t be long before that dirty criminal was caught and punished. Flynn learned that any move to try and defend Yuri resulted in the people nearly turning against him and the Lower Quarter and they soon learned to keep their mouths shut and keep their heads under the radar.
That was the hardest part, Flynn believed. At least, right under Yuri just… no longer being there. Yuri being gone and not knowing what truly happened. Not knowing if he was still alive out there but knowing that if he was, he would never be able to come home to him ever again. He knew that Repede had run off with Yuri but the fact that Repede hadn’t come home showed that maybe… maybe Yuri was still out there somewhere. If not… then… it was safe to assume that Repede, too, was… Yeah, Flynn didn’t want to finish that thought either.
It had been a month since then and the days did not get any easier. Flynn doubted that they would, honestly. He and Yuri had been inseparable since they met and they had been through the worst of it together. They were a part of each other and now, with Yuri gone, that part of Flynn was gone as well. He just… no longer felt like himself. All he had now was that fake mask he had to wear at all times, following the strict protocol he had set up for himself in his head.
Follow orders, don’t argue. Don’t get angry. Do his best to smile and be polite. Earn favor with the higher ups so he could rise through the ranks and change this rotten system. Never let his true feelings show as the nobles will be sure to latch onto the smallest sign of weakness and tear him to shreds. He had to remember this. Especially knowing that he was all alone now.
At least, he thought so. But then… he receives a report that catches his eyes, causing him to hold in a breath without realizing it. The Vision Central in the middle of Zaphias had been destroyed. There were very few witnesses but the few who had been around had mentioned seeing a man and a dog leave the scene soon after it had been destroyed and Flynn’s chest held a tiny spark of hope.
He decided to follow this trail, ordering his knights to keep investigating the broken Vision Central. He knew they would have to investigate a way to repair it but that damned thing could stay broken and could burn for all he cared.
He knew he shouldn’t just assume that this person was Yuri but if a suspicious individual that was a stranger to Zaphias had wandered into the city and destroyed the Vision Central, he would have been found a lot easier in a city this big. No, whoever had done this had managed to find the best way to not be seen by as many people as possible. And no one knew the backpaths of the city as much as he and Yuri did.
So, Flynn found himself traversing through the alleys and shortcuts that he and Yuri used to run through when they were kids and teenagers growing up together in the city. The paths weren’t well known so he didn’t have to worry about someone spotting him as he hurried down the pathway, taking random turns that he and Yuri had committed to memory.
And just as he was about to reach the end, just as he was about to doubt that he was simply chasing after a ghost of a man he would never see again, he turned the corner and was met with the sight of a retreating form of a man with long hair that Flynn would know anywhere. The dog that trotted along his side stopped suddenly and whipped around with a growl but the growl stopped short when he saw who their follower was.
Repede’s ears lower as he whines and Flynn could only take a deep breath and he hates that his voice cracks just slightly when he calls out to the other, just overwhelmed by… by everything.
“Yuri. …Were you planning on just leaving Zaphias without even bothering to try and find me?” His voice breaks because there’s no room for doubt anymore. This was Yuri in front of him, clear as day. He was alive. He was alive and Flynn wasn’t sure if he could cry from relief or anger that the man was trying to leave without a single word to him.

@mistralxsoul continued from here after longer than I intended oops
The monster attacks in this particular village hadn't escaped Velvet's notice, even before Flynn and his squad had showed up. She suspected the attacks had something to do with an Incarnation that might have been in the nearby area. Perhaps that was what was stirring up the monster population. If the ache in her left arm was anything to go by, it seemed a fair assumption. She hadn't gotten there in time to do anything more than help out in driving out the remaining monsters.
She also had played witness to the way the villagers reacted. Hence the comment she'd made to Flynn when the rabble had calmed down. It wasn't really her place. She didn't know the man, nor did he know her. What she was keen to pick up on first was how noble Flynn seemed. So willing to take on the brunt of the blame if it meant that his squad didn't get the worst of it. In the past, Velvet might have been the same way.
How different things were since her little brother had been killed.
"It's a noble thought. Wanting to take all that blame on yourself," Velvet commented. There was more that could be done, though. She'd intended on flying solo, at least until she could reconvene with Milla, but in this case? Flynn might need the help.
She sighed.
"...Hear me out," Velvet finally said. "Those people may hate you right now, but if we find where those monsters are coming from? We could change that." The idea was so far outside of what she would normally do. She almost wanted to take it back. Then she remembered what that boy she'd met when she was dealing with Alicia the Incarnation had taught her. Phi wouldn't steer her wrong. Maybe it was worth her while to allow a little help.
"I have a feeling about where ought to be a good place to start looking. I'd planned on checking it out on my own, but... you look like you need this after how those people just reacted to you and your squad."
#ic#mistralxsoul#Crowe of Calamity (Velvet)#Worlds Converging#Hell yes Crestoria verse is perfect >:D#Idk how much you know about Velvet's involvement in Crestoria but I can explain on the fly xD

❝ who hurt you ? ❞ (/waves! how about zestiria or crestoria verse?)
DIALOGUE PROMPTS : Assorted
In hindsight, traveling along the major roads had been a mistake after what happened at Medagal castle. But what's done is done, and Leon's current concern is more for his injured left arm, now bleeding freely and no longer supporting the weight of a sword. This was bad. He'd shaken off the soldiers for now, but what about later? Though he'd been trained to wield a weapon with both hands, he was accustomed to only wielding a dagger with his right, and this will slow him down...
"Leon! Leon, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Leon hissed out of the corner of his mouth. His uninjured hand drops down, brushing briefly against the hilt in an almost absentminded gesture of reassurance. "Shut up. We're not alone."
The concerned young woman in front of them seemed honest and well-meaning, but to run into another person now is just an extra complication. After all, Leon can hardly tell her that he'd been pursued and attacked by the Order of Knights of Medagal. Even if he had a good reason for why they'd turned and branded him a criminal.
(The fact that they hadn't managed to catch him on the vision orb is a small mercy.)
"There was a group of...bandits." The words come out stiffly, a cover story hastily cobbled together on short notice. "Thank you for your concern, but it's nothing serious." Judging by the state of his arm, that's a blatant lie, but Leon is already turning around and trying to leave. "I'll be going now."

So Aegis was also suspecting that something about this just wasn't quite right. Of course, it was clear to see after all. Even if the numbers had been off by just a little bit, he and his soldiers would have still been strong enough to handle it, if only with a few injuries.
But then fact was as clear as day: They were practically ambushed by how many monsters had been in the forest today. As much as Flynn hated to admit it, something had been manipulated along the way to allow this to happen.
But for what reason? That information could have come from any chain of command so it would be difficult to pinpoint the exact point where the information had gotten messed up. Could someone truly be trying to take him out or was it an attack from Medegal? Or perhaps someone trying to sew discourse between the two kingdoms?
At the very least, Flynn knew that Aegis could be trusted. If Medegal had been behind the false information, it was likely that it was only a select few. If it had been all of Medegal, Aegis would have simply been ordered to ignore this issue entirely. And Flynn... likely would not have made it.
"I didn't want to insinuate that this had been a set up but it seems as if our minds have come to the same conclusion." Flynn lets his gaze trail to the fallen bodies of his comrades.
"...I hate to suspect someone of foul play but lives were lost because of this mistake. I can't very well let this go. Even if it were an honest mistake, I still feel as if an investigation is necessary to see what exactly had gone wrong. So it can be prevented in the future."
"But... we can discuss that as we go. It probably isn't wise to linger. Another ambush like that wouldn't be very pleasant to go through, I'm sure."
Aegis gave his knights a nod to rest themselves, letting them take it upon themselves to keep an eye out on the perimeter. They would move again when Flynn could walk. Even if the monsters were taken care of, there was no guarantee there wasn't someone loitering around who had worked this into their day's plans. Flynn's information had been too off...
When Flynn questioned his identity, he nodded. "Yes, that is me. To be quite honest, even us knight captains are not exactly expected to check on whether or not information is accurate. When an order from a superior is given, generally we need to do is carry the order out. Whatever misinformation you received is not on you, but it does ring suspicious that your superior did not, I presume, check on the facts."
Unless his superior was in on it? Aegis knew little about their band of knights. At most he just knew they were allies right now, and even that was mostly just a formality. The knights themselves didn't even really properly get to meet or work with each other after the alliance was finalized. Learning about each other's fighting styles would have been in their best interests, and it felt almost neglectful that nobody had arranged for that.
As far as massive spikes went, well... it could happen, but they should have been subdued. In fact, the knights of Medegal, at least - he didn't know what information in that regard Flynn's knights had been given - were told that they were being managed and everything was being kept in check. For it to not be meant... either someone was killed and it was prevented at some point, or it was never happening to begin with.
Since Flynn wasn't exactly in his best condition right now, Aegis didn't spring the possibility on him that this might have been planned as a means to either get rid of him or that the alliance was a lot more finnicky than the higher ups were letting on. It was all smiles and handshakes in official capacities, but Aegis couldn't say he really, truly knew what was going on in their thoughts. It may not be the king himself, but it could be... someone close to him.
Still, he wouldn't lie either. "There can be, but our knights were told some time ago that the situation was being managed. We weren't given exact details - simply that the increase is incidents shouldn't happen this year because the monsters would be subdued." Actually, now that he thought on it... did the monsters in this area even have poison capabilities...? If they didn't but these one did...
"To put it simply, the only possibilities are that we were lied to... or someone interfered with it. Whether or not you were their target or you were unlucky I can't say... but I also don't see a reason for our superiors to lie to us about the monsters being subdued. I'm sure there's always the possibility, and yet... at the moment I can think of nothing that would lead them to want to. Only that something along the chain of command at some point was interfered with."

...and any others I think of, for either of them. But that's the start, at least!

@talesofourworlds / from (x)
“Oh man... oh man, my sides hurt, ow.”
Should she have been laughing at the little orange whatever’s expense? Probably not, but come on... this was the same girl who had spent more than half of her life hanging out of candy trees to poke fun of strangers just for the heck of it. Was it at all reasonable to imagine she wouldn’t laugh at some poor unfortunate’s misfortune?
Well...
If it had looked like bullying, of course, that would have been different. Vanellope had been a victim of that for enough of her short life that there was, as far as she was concerned, no humour to be found in that at all... but something that was just a harmless prank like this?
Side-splitting.
“Ah, well...”
She was calming a little as she registered the jester-lady’s question. While what Vanellope had said hadn’t exactly been untrue, it seemed to have been construed in a way that... well, wasn’t entirely what she’d been meaning.
“I mighta exaggerated a little. Been a while since I busted a gut like that, but ‘s not like we don’t have our own share of fun around here.”
Mostly racing, of course. Because what wasn’t the most fun ever about zooming around a city at about a hundred-and-something miles per hour and creaming the gamer competition? Still, that didn’t often reduce her to fits of laughter like this little scene had.
#talesofourworlds#the adorable winner [Vanellope]#v; All Over the Internet#ic#I honestly completely forgot that you had a Crestoria verse so that wasn't the direction I expected this to take at all xD#I was kinda expecting to be using my human-equivalent of Vanellope's pre-movie verse#That said; I can work with this! ^^#I honestly forgot how much fun this girl is to write for#I love her x3

Help.
That was all she needed.
Trudging through the cutting cold and blanket of snow was no easy journey. Much less so in the ragged fabrics one might dare call clothes in place of poor patchwork garments. Even before the fear and pain had streaked her face, her body shivered at such a steady rhythm that woodpeckers would have been envious. Though, such music would not come to comfort her, nor would the aid she sought bring her sanctuary from the hell she had freed herself from. No, Cyra would not find any solace here. Not when people were quick to convict the innocent in satisfaction of their own entertainment.
Word had spread of her presence far faster than she had anticipated. Within minutes of her shivering arrival, people had gathered in sick curiosity of the creature that stumbled upon their home. They didn't care about the pathetic state she was in. They didn't care that she had come to them asking for aid after having made a violent escape from an uncertain fate. It was not only the dried blood on her person that frightened them, but her inhuman appearance. Darkened, wicked horns curved up and back from her forehead to sit in pair with large, furred ears tufted at the tips. Claws tipped each finger, blackened nails that punctured and tore at the shreds of clothing hanging off her small frame. She had been aware of the striped fur that coated her skin, the paws in place of feet, and the long tail that wrapped around her as she sat on her knees in the snow.
Silently, she watched in painful disbelief as the people cried out her crime. Calling her a 'beast', and 'monster' as she gently gripped the pendant strung around the cold iron shackle on her neck. The fear had struck her as deep as the windy chill that froze her bones. Tears stung her eyes, confused and terrified to think that they already knew what she had done.
"Please-", she whimpered out as she made a move to stand, shielding herself with her arm. "You don't understand! Please, I just need-"
An arrow struck the chilled earth beside her.
Cyra gasped, falling to her side away from the clear warning set by the people. Their continued chants were enough to convince her of the certain doom they would bring upon her should she stay and attempt to plead her case. So, she ran.
She ran, but not back towards the road. Turning on a dime, she dashed into the frozen forest, hoping to find some shelter of any kind. Her scrambled movement was clumsy as she fled from the mob. Slipping and stumbling every ten or so paces as she disappeared into the woods. Between her heavy breaths and burning lungs, tears stung her cheeks as she continued on. Determined to put as much distance between herself and the people, she ran until she could no longer breathe.
Lost, tired, alone, and cold. Cyra fell to her knees in the unbroken white before her. Begging, and breathing as she sobbed to some silent God that refused to answer. Her shaking fingers wrapped around the vision orb, taking it into her palm as a rosary to her prayer. She pleaded quietly to the pendant, curling around herself for a moment before letting out an angered shriek. In one quick motion, she snapped the trinket free from her shackled throat and dropped it into the snow beside her.
"Please...", she cried.
The small chime of the gem cracking prompted her to wipe her eyes. Clearing her vision of her anguish, she watched curiously as severing lines spread across its surface as a bleeding web of convicted hate. The voices of the villagers erupted into her mind, splitting the isolation of her own thoughts in a searing pain. It cracked and snaked through her skull just as the fractured stone before her. The accusations, and the crime they accused her of had been wrong. Could it be that her only sin to those people had been her monstrous appearance? Was that truly the only reason for such a vindictive and vicious trial?
They didn't know the truth, then.
The orb shattered, its delicate design disintegrating in a ruby-gold mist, and with it followed her hopes for a future. She screamed, dangerous fingers pulling and clawing at her skull as her assigned guilt had been burned into her skin. Doubled over to cradle her face as the brand of her 'crime' flayed her soul. Sobs choked her pained wailing as she pressed her head into the snow, hoping the chill would at least take away some measure of the agony.
Accused for nothing more than looking the part of a beast, her sentence had made her life forfeit. The saintly apparitions would form, and they would hunt her down regardless of being wrongfully incriminated. The terrified woman in the snow had been deemed undeserving of kindness and care. It was the vicious satisfaction of human nature to blame others for something they cannot control, but to condemn a creature for the crime of another? It was madness.
Despite her trembling, the sound of gunfire pierced through the pain and her sobs into the snow. She gasped, sitting up and looking back in the direction she had come from. From what little she knew of the Enforcers, she did know that there was no hesitation once her orb had shattered for them to appear. Drawn forth from the greater stone located in the village, they would have already found her by now. Perhaps they took longer this time? No, that goes against everything she'd been told.
So, why had they not come for her?
Everything in her shivering body had screamed against her choice to follow her own footsteps back towards the very town that condemned her to this fate. If there was any part of her life she had a say in, it would be this. Going against her instinct to continue running, she began making her way back. The sounds of pain and death hadn't taken long to reach her keen ears. It was much to her own surprise that her scramble to flee had taken only minutes for her to come to rest in the forest rather than the hours it had felt like. The burning cold in her lungs still stung her throat.
With the village coming back into clear view between the trees, the smell of blood had finally assaulted her senses. The creature's eyes widened as the sight of the angelic justice had been as a glimmering star in the evening sun, darting in and out of view as they seemed to be fighting something. Cyra had already consigned to her death, knowing that nothing could truly stop the Enforcers from finding her, and bringing the justice of the people down on her. There was no way to stop the process once it had been done. Without the possibility of a future, who was she to run from death? Even through tears, she let out a huff of amusement. Ironic, to think that she had been more afraid of the villagers than the harbingers of her doom. At the very least, death would spare her continued suffering should she have been able to continue living.
So it was in her acceptance of such an end that she moved closer for a better view. People fled in all directions, screaming about 'the Great Transgressor' as if it was common knowledge. Maybe it was, but not to her. Her thoughts wandered to the idea that there was a possibility that there was a greater threat to life than an Enforcer, something that punishes both the guilty and the innocent. As she watched, she felt that instinct to flee petrify within her. She halted her approach, her breath catching in her throat as she watched an Enforcer die. Its death rattle stilled her to the very core. A haunting and hollow echo that trailed off as its white cloak dissolved into a mist. Never mind the gunfire that resulted in its end, the death of such an immortal executioner had erased all primal logic for her self-preservation. Once again, Cyra dropped to her knees. Whatever had killed the killers, had surely been coming for her next. It did not matter if she ran, or tried to hide from whatever beast sought justice in her end. It would find her, and carry out the peoples' will. She quivered, a reminder that the air around her had began to drop in temperature as the sun settled in for its own rest on the horizon. Just as the day was coming to an end, so too would her life.
Cyra was reminded of her fears as the quiet, breathy sobs poured out of her. She quickly crawled to hide behind a tree. She knew she was a coward for wanting to hide herself from death itself. Though it had contradicted her previous resolve to choose and witness her end, she couldn't deny the emotions that gripped her body with such force that she had no true control over her own actions. Pulling her knees to her chest, she tucked her face into her legs. If she was going to wait for death, she would rather not know when the time comes and hope that it was quick and painless.
It didn't take long for her to hear the slow crunch of footsteps approach from behind the tree. She whimpered, coiling herself tighter into a defensive ball until the person came to a stop.
"I won't run," she said softly. "please...just make it quick."
starter for @voidtouched-blue
The wind gives Vicious a violent chill, boots crunching in cold snow. The intel that woman gave him seemed to lead him to yet another impasse and a freezing one at that. I'll kill her, I'll totally kill her. He thinks as he shivers and pulls his open coat more over his exposed midriff. Vicious thinks about robbing the next poor sucker who comes along his path with a warm looking coat. She could have at least warned him of the climate.
More dreadful minutes of walking till Vicious finally saw peaks of buildings amongst the white cold. Finally. Vicious was going to get some shelter and booze whether the inhabitants wanted to supply him or not. Something didn't feel quite right when Vicious stepped onto cleaner paths. At first the town seemed eerily quiet before he walked a block more in.
❝ ..o n ...s ...!!❞ He begins to hear voices.
As he makes his way deeper to the square where the blasted vision central of the town sat he could hear the voices more clearly. There was multiple, he came to realize, yelling in almost a chant.
❝ m ..s t ..e r !!y ... 'r e a .. b ..a s t !❞ ❝ n o..! ..l e a..e !! ❞
Vicious stops as he hits the edge of the block. Peering into the town square where sat it's central hub. Vision Central, where those who are condemned face so-called 'judgement'. The humans hadn't even noticed the Great Transgressor's presence as they pass on their verdict. The orb in the hub shimmers with its vision of someone Vicious doesn't know. ❝ please.. ❞ A voice sobs and catches the transgressors attention.
The one facing judgement begs, left on their knees in the snow. Hugging tatters to their body, sobbing as things spiral further and further from their control. They do not look human and Vicious feels his jaw tense, like something about this situation suddenly rubs him all the wrong ways not as if these foolish peoples retribution ever sat well with him. It was far too late for Vicious to do anything regardless if the thoughts had occurred to him.
Discarded in the snow a few centimeters from the woman rested their vision orb. Fallen from their person as it lay tauntingly before them, shimmering slowly until the small orb in the middle began to form cracks on it's own.
"̵ ̶m̴o̴n̶s̸t̴e̶r̷ ̵!̸ ̵"̸̴ "̷ ̴y̶o̴u̷ ̶s̴h̵o̶u̶l̵d̵n̴'̶t̷ ̷h̵a̵v̵e̶ ̴b̴e̸e̸n̴ ̴b̴o̸r̵n̷ ̷!̸ ̸"̶̶ "̵ ̴t̴h̸e̸y̸'̸r̶e̸ ̵a̷ ̸b̸e̶a̴s̴t̸ ̷!̷!̸ ̶"̶̴ "̸ ̸!̵ ̸g̷o̷ ̷a̷w̶a̵y̵,̷ ̵m̴o̸n̸s̵t̸e̶r̶ ̶!̴!̶ ̶y̶o̵u̸ ̵d̸o̶n̵'̷t̵ ̷b̴e̸l̷o̴n̵g̸ ̶!̶ ̶"̸
Her hands move to their head as an overwhelming wave of voices echo within their head. fluffy ears laying flat back against dark hair. It feels agonizing hearing them all at once. They deem a monster unworthy of life, viewed as a murderer before they knew anything. Unwanted for merely looking different, unable to fit in let alone get the help, the only thing she had wanted. Instead, they're all as cold as the snow under her knees, if not colder. Nobody was on her side and —
— and the vision orb finally shatters.
❝ The enforcers will kill you, you fiend — ! ❞ — bang!
Attention quickly turned to the loud sound. The man who'd been talking dropped to his knees before falling face forward into the snow, unmoving. There was an absolute dead silence as the residence took in what had just happened. ❝ it's - ❞ A woman gasped, before she'd been cut off by another's scream. ❝ It's the Great Transgressor!! ❞
Vicious scowled. His anger had suddenly gotten the better of him as his arm falls back to his side, but the weapons - twin guns, his blood sin - in his hands were not recalled. His frown quickly turned upside down as he laughed, feeling his blood pumping now as things were actually getting exhilarating. Enforcers materialized from within the peoples will and previous pleas for judgement but once eyes had laid on him and the man who laid dead at their feet; absolute chaos broke out. People ran in fear of their lives once they had realized just who was in their town.
Vicious was about to get warmed up one way or another. Tongue swiping across his lips as he looked at the new challenge ahead of him, the cloaked beings were hardly threatening for a monster like him.
❝ hah. bring it! i'll kill the lotta ya. ❞

♡ [and for vicious :3]
@viciouscomplex
Attraction: 4/5
Affection: 0/5
Interest: 3/5
Loyalty: 1/5
Trust: 0/5
Attraction: Flynn is so angry about this score. He does not like this man in the slightest and is so angry that he’s somewhat attractive. The number might even go up if Vicious dropped the extremely nasty attitude (Challenge: Impossible.) So, he’ll give credit where it’s due. Vicious is a bit attractive. That’s pretty much it though.
Affection: There is something in Vicious that just activates the worst qualities in Flynn. All the man has to do is open his mouth and Flynn’s good mood is ruined. At this time, there isn’t a single lick of affection in Flynn’s body for Vicious and if they were left alone together for an extended amount of time, they would probably try and kill each other within the hour.
Interest: Flynn holds a lot of interest and curiosity over who Vicious is as a person and why he’s choosing to do the things that he does. He doesn’t really believe that Vicious is acting horrendously simply because he’s following his role as the Great Transgressor. Everyone has their reasons and he knows that Yuri and Vicious’ party wouldn’t put up with him if he was as purely evil as he tries to act. AKA, he’s psychoanalyzing you, Vicious.
Loyalty: (In the verse created between Vicious-mun and Yuri-mun (@bravewolfvesperia), Vicious gave Yuri a blood sin after the man had been condemned. Because of this, Flynn feels as if he owes VIcious for practically saving Yuri’s life. But once that debt has been repaid, Flynn will owe no favors to the transgressor and intends on making him answer for his crimes one day. Vicious doesn’t have to worry about Flynn stabbing him in the back at least. Flynn intends on arresting Vicious honorably, with no tricks or anything of the sort.
Trust: Flynn does not trust Vicious in the slightest. If they were ever in a situation where they were forced to fight together (Gods Forbid), Flynn would have a very hard time allowing Vicious to watch his back. He would expect a bullet to hit him at some point so Flynn would mostly feel more comfortable fighting alone.

Clearly Kanata knew more about Blood Sins than Yuri did, but he didn't want to ask about it further at the moment. There were a lot of things he needed to straighten out as far as knowing this group, and that was one just of many. More than that, he could only suppose Kanata had been used to living like this to be able to smile so easily and act so friendly.
Was it impressive to accept his sin? From what he did know about the power Vicious gave him, a person needed to truly accept what they had done - what they had been condemned for - and just saying as much wouldn't have cut it. The person needed to genuinely believe they were not wrong and have the will to keep fighting.
Whether that actually made him impressive or not, he wasn't sure. He just knew with certainty that he had things he still wanted to protect and that he would have, condemned or not, always believed in the path he chose. That also meant these people here believed in themselves and that they were not wrong, regardless of their sins or supposed sins.
Eventually he would get around to talking to everyone and really knowing who these people were. Today he was just... not feeling much of anything. After being targeted again by Enforcers he'd been dealing with them before meeting Vicious, and receiving a Blood Sin had not exactly been painless. Right now he just... only wanted to get into conversations that happened through progression, rather than trying to steer it in a direction that meant seeking information and answers all at once.
Even for him, it was a lot to take in. These people were used to it and he could tell they were. They didn't act like recent victims. In a way it was as if they had already accepted it and moved on with their lives. If Yuri survived long enough, maybe he would be like that eventually too. For now it was just... still a lot to process.
"Maybe... a month or so? Probably bit a less." Long enough to learn to be paranoid pretty damn fast though. Twenty-one years of a relatively relaxed nature was almost completely out the window now. Just being around other people usually made him stiff and left all of his senses on high alert.
With this group it was different, if only because he knew ahead of time they were all Transgressors. Pleasant personalities helped at least - the ease at which they accepted meeting another Transgressor was enough to tell him they, like him, didn't have any faith in what it meant to be a "criminal" anymore. A "criminal" was only determined by a single person's side of a story without proper context. Being a Transgressor in and itself hardly held any real meaning and had no bearing on who a person was.
As if sensing the shift in tone and mood from Yuri, Repede moved to sit next to him, giving a small whine and nudging his head at Yuri. Yuri's hand moved to stroke the pup's head, whose ears moved back and forth for a moment as he studied Kanata. Funnily enough, Yuri loved that about Repede - how he always decided for himself if he liked someone regardless of Yuri's feelings on them. A single dog was thinking more for himself than most of humanity at this point.
"This is Repede, by the way. He's stuck with me since I had to run away. He's always been with me, but... he's never objected to living like this ever since he followed me the day I got condemned. I'd know if he was showing signs of wear from living like this, but he's just... stuck by my side like normal. He's the most normal thing I've had since it all happened."
Another small whine left Repede as he pawed at Yuri lightly, looking back at Kanata and eventually getting comfortable and laying down beside Yuri. Sometimes Yuri did wish Repede would go home to Flynn and stay with him. He was only about four years old, and... the thought of losing him during all this was unbearable, much less when the pup had so many years left of life. Even if Repede could take care of himself in a fight, the idea of losing him had been scarier to Yuri than if he himself had been killed.

@crestfallencrest replied: Unfortunately I am now being haunted by this Yuri too, WHAT!!!!!!! Im not too familiar with Crestoria so Im not sure what a transgressor is in this context but holy hell this design???? O_O
Basically a transgressor is someone who was condemned by the majority of the world to be a sinner. Everyone in the world carries a Vision Orb with them to use to record things and they can broadcast things other people do to the entire world, spin a narrative and the world decides if they're guilty of the mentioned crime (they can also leave things out, make things up entirely, etc to fit the narrative they're going for if they're lying).
If the world decides someone is guilty, their Vision Orb breaks and is replaced with a mark called the Stain of Guilt (which is apparently physically painful to get), proving they've sinned and are "guilty", and monster-like creatures called Enforcers show up to kill them (they warp them away into another dimension and kill them basically). Since Yuri isn't dead he warded them off and is on the run like the main cast. Enforcers tend to lay off after a while, but if people see the person again and recognize them, they're likely to call for Enforcers again (in Yuri's case I imagine they'd just call for them anyway, recognized or not, because he clearly has a mark).
When the judgment is that someone is a sinner, the person literally hears their voices of their opinions/comments about them in their head before their Vision Orb breaks, so seeing the general design for Yuri I feel like it fits, but I'm still going to lose sleep for the rest of my life wondering what his story was and how they were going to fit him into the main story (crossover characters could be pretty important and Milla's backstory was tied to the at-the-time main antagonist to the whole story). I'm also ruined over the fact that I am craving Yuri and Vicious interaction in general, plus on top of their Crestoria game stories, as well as their knight boyfriends getting Tired just by watching them together.
Which, for that matter, a Yuri side story probably would've included Flynn, and we'd probably see how Flynn feels about seeing Yuri's crime if not "crime" broadcast to the world and seeing him condemned to be a criminal worth being killed (they don't use Vision Orbs for all crimes, hence why they have knights who handle the small time stuff. Use of a Vision Orb means you're gunning for the person to essentially get the death penalty, which is what will happen if they're condemned and can't fight the Enforcers off). In Vespy we have Flynn being the one who keeps warning Yuri while the people generally love or appreciate him, but in Crestoria it's the complete opposite just based off the fact that he was condemned. Flynn just having to live knowing the whole world hates Yuri and probably thinking he did do something that bad and being so distraught about it... 😔
I imagine it'd ultimately be something like, Yuri was condemned on either false or not-the-whole-story accusations and Flynn used to be one of those people who took Vision Orb users at their word, only to find out how skewed the system was. Would probably meet up with Yuri at some point to get answers (I don't think he'd go there to arrest him if he was a knight in this verse because bringing Yuri back would quite literally mean sending him to his death) and find out the truth. Don't know if Yuri would be on a mission to destroy all the Vision Orbs to prevent good people from being condemned in the future like Kanata is, but he seems to definitely have had a goal in mind. Sad we won't know because his interests feel like they'd have aligned with the main cast's like Milla's did.
Also I get the feeling that Yuri wouldn't regret his sin because I can't see him not doing it for a good purpose (and he's got the damn mark on display like Vicious, who was essentially also wrongfully called a sinner). It's a shame that he would have to be a crossover character in status too though, because the mix of his canon story and his Crestoria story would've normally landed his ass right into the main cast and him getting a Blood Sin from Vicious (which Vicious gives people when they accept their sin and vow to live with it basically). Heck, he might've even done that as a side character and just helped on the side like Milla helped on the side.
I'm sorry this is so long LOL the possibilities were just... THERE. If you ever have the time I'd recommend giving the game a watch on YouTube from what's been recorded from the game. The main story is fully voiced, and you've side stories for the crossover characters and event stories like the other gacha games. The manga changed up a few chunks already because of the removal of the crossover characters, so I personally would recommend the game before the manga. :O
#crestfallencrest#GTF Reply Posts#i would pay namco to let vicious give yuri a blood sin are u kidding me 😭😭😭

I'm not sure if you remembered during this post and were thinking about it or not, but Emil's backstory did kind of already exist. We obviously won't get a resolution to their story, but we at least know why they're merged the way they are.
I will literally never recover from Transgressor Yuri and the fact that they really pulled that shit out on us and then pulled the plug on the fucking game LMAO. They're not going to bring him back in manga form, and even if we get the wild possibility of a mainline console game for Crestoria, I highly doubt the crossover aspect would return (lest it essentially be like the RM series which seems dead since the mobile market slaughtered it in cold blood).
As for Tear and Flynn, I'm guessing the inner world is part of the Crestoria world but is something within it? Like a sort of other dimension? That was my guess, anyway. Not sure if it'll have any relevance to the world in the manga or if that was just meant to be a crossover thing to help assist with the many crossovers.
I don't think Velvet would have killed Milla because basically everyone was telling her to knock it off. Laphicet was living in the village Presea was in and they didn't join Velvet after the side story, so I would imagine their story was either done or they wouldn't have been important for anything for quite some time if ever again (they'd probably show up in events if the game continued but unless Velvet went back on her own and they joined up with her at that point, I personally can't really see it).
Sorey starting his journey without Lailah I think works in this case because it's not their canon verse. There can easily be an explanation to handwave it since the rules of everything are very different.
Just wanted to add my thoughts on the topics because I'm also deeply saddened by the loss of the crossover. 😔 All we're left with is fics and stuff really at this point. I wish they'd turn the game back on but I don't know if they even have it anymore or how that works with the coding once they shut down online service games. Also don't know if they'd even have the data still for players or if they would've wiped it to create room for something else or something
Tbh even if they deleted the data but ended up rebooting the game, I'd rather that than nothing and would play it all over from scratch again. Crestoria was my favorite mobile game ever and I am upset without it. The manga just really isn't the same for me. it's okay, but it's not nearly as good as the game for me.
Crestoria’s shutting down this month, but we know that the story will continue through the manga. However, the manga seems to be dropping all of the storylines involving the crossover characters, so I’ve compiled a list on all of the unresolved cliffhangers involving them:
- Just everything about Emil??? There’s so much??? Like, do his parents know what happened to him? Do Marta’s parents know? They’re childhood friends and she’s traveling with him now, so, did she secretly follow Emil, or did Emil return to his home town at some point? Will he ever separate his consciousness from Ratatosk? Is there more to it than them just sharing a body? (There’s definitely more to it, but now we may never know)
- Luke and Alisha (and presumably Muzet) left together on a journey. We will never no how their journey is going or see their friendship blossom.
- Caius is on a journey to find Rubia, but two event stories reveal that she’s completely fine and that the village knows about her whereabouts, so either these event stories take place during a different timeline, or no one in Caius’s village bothered to tell him where Rubia went.
- Trangressor Yuri??? Hello???
- Tear is mentioned to be from the “inner world”. What does this mean??? And Flynn seems to be familiar with it even though he’s from Crestoria’s world? What was going on with them???
- The trees. Kanonno Earheart is playable, but there’s a tree named after her. How does that work? And there’s a fourth unnamed tree??? Possible fourth Kanonno? We will never know!!!
- How did Zelos and Jude become friends? It’s very rare for Zelos to develop genuine friendships with other men, so like, did Jude save his life or something?
- Asbel is mentioned to have attended the knight academy, but he now works as a mercenary. What happened at the knight academy? Did he drop out? Does he just need the money from mercenary work? If so, does this mean his family isn’t rich in this universe? Does he still get to be a lord? And where is Hubert??? Asbel never mentions him at all???
- I really want to know how Asbel and Jade met. They seemed like they had a fun dynamic.
- Just Sophie’s whole deal. There’s definitely more to her than what was revealed in her side story, but now we may never know…
- Meredy still arrives in a space ship, so where did she come from???
- Velvet and Milla never met up again. And if they did, would Velvet continue to just begrudgingly work with her and go through with killing her? Would Laphicet have eventually joined up with them?
- Kyle still seems to be Stahn’s son, but he’s 15 and Stahn is 17 so??? Time travel??? Also, Stahn is still a sword! His sister still thinks he’s dead!
- Sorey was on a Shepherd’s journey when we first meet him, but it’s never mentioned how that got started or what his goal is. However, when we meet Lailah, she’s still looking for the Shepherd so??? And Sorey’s only traveling buddy is Mikleo, which means he started his Shepherd’s journey without meeting Lailah yet. How does that work???
Feel free to add any that I missed!
