I’m a sucker for Good Dad Splinter ever since I watched TMNT ‘03. That rat was gifted sapience and his immediate instinct was kindness. I love that for him.

Rise Splinter lived a rollercoaster of a life, but as a Hollywood star he remembered the names of all his stunt guys and coworkers, and as a prisoner he cared for the rat that shared his cell. His sons are very close and physically affectionate, I think that says something about how he cares? That’s just how I like to headcanon him :)

It’s interesting to explore the idea that a seemingly monstrous transformation is what pushed him to be a kinder human

Klunk! He’s just a little guy

I love cats, they’re so cute :) Wish we saw more of him in the show, but just the fact that they have a cat is great. Poor turtles need an emotional support animal for all that they go through.

Even though Splinter is a rat, I think he treats Klunk like a fifth son. After all, he too was a misunderstood animal who only needed kindness once, and the love that his Masters had for him inspires his own kindness even now.

The episode as a whole was adorable! Even though they live in the sewers and fear humans, the turtles still have a little community of their own.

Garnet eyes blinked to try and clear the stars from his vision, a blurriness remaining on the right side as he shook his head. Big mistake, he realized, as the room swirled alarmingly, and his head throbbed with the sudden movement.

Taking a deep breath, the corvid started to push to his feet…only for a pressure on his shoulders to stop him. The firmness of that pressure was…telling, at least on his left shoulder, and with a groan, he tried to look up. The blur of white and blue and red coalesced slowly into most definitely the form of James Ironwood, and the groan extended itself to a heavy sigh as Qrow let the General push him – unresistingly – back down to the ground.

The concerned, worried cadence of James’ voice was almost enough to have the corvid give in right there, even as he shook his head again. Nausea was starting to press at the back of his throat. He needed…to stop doing that.

“’m fine, James. Jus’…jus’ took me by s’prise, ‘sall.”

An understatement. An exaggeration. Both. Since coming to Atlas, it seemed like his semblance had been acting out a little less, and while a lifetime of mistakes and missteps and bad luck would never leave him completely with his guard down…well. It had relaxed somewhat. Stupid mistake, really. His own bad luck.

Qrow grimaced at the thought, pale red eyes flickering up to try and meet James’ worried blue, but the movement made his head throb, and his vision swam. So he swallowed instead, and weakly tried to push himself up again.

“Really, ‘m ‘lright.”
