We all know that radahn being miquellas consort was a shitty choice, writing wise. Literally anyone would have been better. Godwyn, Malenia (putting aside whether Emperyans can be consorts, if Marika and Radagon can do it, so can Miquella and Malenia), Messmer, the Tarnished themselves....

Plus, one thing I really don't like about the DLC is that Miquella's plan is incredibly ridiculous and convoluted. I'm trying not to point out every which way it's stupidly convoluted, but I'm just going to say this: it's not the type of grand villain plan made by an incredibly smart and manipulative antagonist character; it's the type of villain plan that only a writer could come up with because they know how the story goes. AKA the type of villain plan that is not good writing.

Anyway. All this to say: the DLC would have been better if Mohg was Miquella's chosen consort.

First, why would Miquella chose Mohg? Well, we know that pre-charming, Mohg was not the blood lord we see in game. He was called a Luminary (aka "someone who brings light"... Miquella, who's whole thing is light....) and had a lot of people loyal to him and his vision of rule. He wasn't fantasy racist, which is pretty important to Miquella. Plus, Mohg is an omen, cast aside by Marika. Miquella's whole thing is about becoming a god greater than Marika. What better way to stick it to his mom then to not just take an Omen as a consort, but take an Omen who Marika specifically fucked over.

Plus, the way to get to the land of shadows, and thus the gate of divinity, is through the cocoon that Mohg and Miquella have been marinating in. No matter what consort Miquella chooses, it's Mohg's blood that lets him enter the LoS. And if Mohg's body specifically is needed for the ritual (for whatever reason) just cut out the extra step of killing a different guy to stuff his soul into Mohg's body by bringing along Mohg's body with Mohg's soul in it. Kill two birds with one stone.

And you can even keep the "Miquella charmed Mohg into going off the deep end" because Miquella has repeatedly charmed not only his allies, but people who would have followed him anyway. Miquella charms anyone who gets close enough to him.

Also, Mohg and Miquella are just. Such good foils. The parallels. The compare and contrast. They bounce off each other in really interesting ways. I'm not even talking in a shipping context, I mean just from a writing perspective. Mohg and Miquella's goals and ideals align and contrast in such interesting ways that even though they never interact on screen, you can tell they would make an incredibly interesting duo. But Radahn? We have to be told that Miquella admired him and begged for Radahn to be his consort (even though Radahn--the guy who literally stops the hands of fate so that nothing will change--would never want to overturn the GO). When they do interact, it's just Miquella sitting on his back. They don't even talk IIRC.

And for my final point as to why Mohg could and would be a better consort for Miquella than Radahn: Mohg never rode a horse into the literal ground. That's 0-1 in terms of who is more compassionate.

Hey! I'm making a F!Leo cosplay and I was wondering if you have any advice for how to do the shell? The plastron, specifically. Yours was amazing! Ty xx

Yeah of course!!! Luckily the rise plastrons are very geometric so its pretty easy to make a pattern from it! I dont have pictures of early steps so pls bear with me <3 info n pictures below the cut

First thing i did was make a pattern of my torso with plastic wrap and tape so i could see the curve of my stomach and chest. Cant say this helped a TON, but i cant imagine things in my head, so it helped me conceptualize the size and dimensions i would need the front panels to be to cover my torso.

Next i started sketching small patterns for what the cut outs may look like. DEFINITELY make a paper pattern, this took a lot of trial and error and you dont want to waste too much foam. I cannot for the life of me find my paper patterns unfortunately, but hopefully you can see part of where im coming from with the detailed pictures of the plastron!! I made patters for 1/2 of the plastron, and flipped the patters over to make the other half mirrored and symetrical.

Now the cutting. I used .7mm foam (i think?? I got it from micheals. Joann fabrics has some but only small sheets. If you want less seams you should get the bigger ones, or buy massive sheets online. EVA foam isnt too hard to find, but make sure your density and width is appropriate for what youre making. When actually cutting the pieces out, some cuts will be flat while others may work best at an angle. I used mostly 90* and 45* angles to make clean edges and corners.

Bear with me bc the pictures in this next part are kinda uglie </3 ill explain why later.

For matching the curve of the body, i used a fresh blade and made shallow triangle cuts on the backside of the foam as can be seen here:

It would have worked better if the chest pieces were also vurved by i was on a time crunch and didnt have the time to make a 3rd or fourth plastron (yes this was a second fully completed attempt orz). Im also a bigger dude so it may be easier if your torso is smaller. I also had the benefit of making my pants from scratch (using a demon slayer uniform pattern that i altered) so i made the waistband big enough to tuck the shell into, which helped with keeping it curved around my body.

(This but only applies to future leo and i did post gluing the pieces together, but for his Top Surgery Scars™️ i cut into the chest at a 45*angle, then glued those pieces back onto the back side to seal the cut)

For gluing, i tried a whole lot of types but jothing worked as well as cement glue. It is toxic tho so make sure you do it outside or with good ventilation, and wear gloves/a mask. I did two layers on each edge then stuck the edges together, 3 if i noticed the foam absorbing it to much. Make sure you take the gluing slow and really put pressure on the pieces to lock them together. Follow the instructions and youll do fine.

For painting, i did 2 layers of modge podge, 1-2 priming layers (depends on if foam is white or black to start), and then whatever layers you need for a smooth coat of color. I topped it off with modgepodge again to seal it, but that may not have been the best idea for the following reasons....

EW YUCK. WHY IT LOOK LIKE THAT.

Well. It didnt always. Turns out when youre wearing approx 3 laters in the summer then cover your body with insulating foam, the heat and moisture makes the modgepodge MELT. and like i said before, this bottom portion was tucked into my pants so it did not breathe. I have yet to even try to find a solution but just keep it in mind when making your cosplay (and if you find a solution PLEASE LET ME KNOW! My one idea was tryna find a sealant that wont melt (obv) but idk what that would be)

And FINALLY. how to secure it to the body suit!! I used snaps!! So easy and nice (besides the melting issue but thats a different thing entirely.) They never came off or gave me problems (minus the melting) and made the shells easy to transfer/travel with and put on.

All in all, The plastron was so so hard and im honestly still not happy with it, planning to remake it before i wear him again. Please show me your cosplay when you finish it, id love to see!! Please lemme know if you have any other questions!! 🐢💙

First up we got Atlas

Hes..... somewhere around his mid-20's, i dont know i havent thought about it

He was a normal pokemon trainer on a journey starting from unova going across all the regions, but he ended up joining team skull and sticking around Alola for a long while.

He joined the team just for the hell of it, really, since he thought it would be fun to let loose and cause chaos. (that, and he thought Guzma looked cool..) Over his time in the gang, due to his skills in pokemon battling, he ended up becoming an admin alongside Plumeria.

Atlas specialises in dark types, and his pokemon team includes: an alolan meowth, deino, zorua, malamar and an alolan muk.

I know he looks like he would be smart, but hes actually really really stupid. He threw his common sense out the window when he joined the gang, and now his solution to anything is to 'set it on fire!'. Thankfully, Plumeria keeps him under control and doesnt let him commit arson. He also cant cook for SHIT. He has multiple times almost set the team skull base on fire while trying to cook. (he has since been banned from having lighters, matches, or touching any kind of device that heats up.)

Next up weve got Z / Zee!

She has the intelligence of a 11 year old, as well as the looks of one

Shes not actually human, shes just a zorua that really wants to be human. She grew up watching people go about their days, and found that she wanted to be like that too.

Even though zoruas ability is called illusion, in most of the pokemon media they seem to be able to interact with their surroundings, so i assume its more like transformation. Thats what im going off of here.

Z is mute due to her vocal cords not being equipped for human speech. (going off of the pokemon anime, zoruas seem to not have the ability to talk, but zoroarks do.) Her disguise, however, is near to perfect. She has spent months honing her illusion ability, and managed to mix and match features from people she had seen to make an illusion she was happy with. an illusion she could call herself.

Ever since she got her illusion perfected, she has spent most of her time in it. She lives in the woods by herself, just like a pokemon would, except she sometimes wanders into town to cause some mischief. I havent decided where exactly she lives, but id imagine her to be well known around there.

At the beginning, she would obviously be illiterate and unable to communicate in anything other than gestures and body language, but she does eventually learn sign language! She learns how to read and write as well, but shes not very good at either of those...

While on the topic of Zoruas trying to be human..

Here we have Fuyu 冬! She resides in hisui

She has the intelligence of a 11 year old as well

She is also a zorua pretending to be human, but for different reasons as Z. Fuyu was hoping to infiltrate the towns of people in order to learn more about them, specifically their weaknesses. Like most hisuian zoruas, she holds deep resentment for people.

Her kimonos collar is intentionally the wrong way, because hisuian zoruas are technically undead. Thats why she looks a little lifeless too. I know their illusions dont seem to work the same way as a normal zoruas, but shh..... let me pretend..... let me pretend she can be a real girl..........

Her plan was to learn humans weaknesses in order to kill them all, but unfortunately for her, she got attached to one of them and abandoned her objective. That someone was warden Ingo, because id imagine he wouldnt be as familiar with the legends of dangerous shapeshifting pokemon, and thus wouldnt be too suspicious of Fuyu. Ingo was nice to Fuyu one time, and she was like ''oh. humans can be nice?'' and decided to just follow him around out of curiosity. Long story short, they get to know eachother over time (the best they can with Fuyu being unable to communicate, anyway) and end up having a sort of father-daughter dynamic.

pretty much everyone in hisui is suspicious of Fuyu, but Ingo vouches for her humanity, even after he finds out her true nature.

Last but not least,

Silas!

Hes like..... somewhere in his 30's... he just got really good genes..

Silas is a retired pokemon trainer. He used to travel around the regions but eventually settled down in unova and started up his own little flower shop in Nimbasa. Its a little two tier building, the first floor serves as the store, and he lives on the second floor. Hes the only worker there, if his pokemon dont count. He was born in Alola, but soon embarked on his journey at the ripe age of 12 like most other trainers. His first Pokemon was actually his phantump, but he kept it secret from professor Kukui because he wanted to get a rowlet. (he got one)

By the time he settled down and started the flower shop, his Pokemon team consisted of; his Phantump named Thumpy, a Decidueye named Cider, a Shuppet named Doll, a Morelull named Marianne and a Petilil named Lily. He likes small pokemon, so most of them arent evolved.

Hes quite introverted, and has a sort of gloomy aura about him. His voice is soft, airy, and quite hard to hear. He pauses mid sentence often, and his way of talking is quite creepy to a lot of people. He looks quite uncanny when he smiles, even though he doesnt intend to, thus he often scares off customers…. phantump always floating over his shoulder doesnt help... Overall, despite his pretty face, his behavior makes him seem quite weird to normal people.

Out of curiosity how are lucifer and mourningstar lucifer different when it comes to their little omega being in heat?

Not by much, both are very gentle and slow with it until their Omega can safely take it how they want (extremely horny people dont often make good judgment on pace or things so they can't really trust any begging). I feel like Mourningstar will have a harder time saying no to his princess, but at the same time he doesnt want to hurt them so there is a bit of prep work necessary. It really comes down to what they call them and how quickly they give into instincts once they get going.

Mourningstar will always call them his baby girl, his princess (no matter their gender or preferencesthis man is delusional that your his princess now), or just his in general (you know those types that mutter mine, mine, mine with every thrust once they lose themselves enough to the pleasure). After his princess is prepped and he's inside, he very quickly goes feral. He's babbling incoherent nonsense as he plows them into the mattress with his otherworldly strength and stamina. Being an Alpha, he's already able to spill inside them multiple times so he can properly satiate a heat, but being the extremely powerful entity he is, he can likely go on long after they've passed out. Afterward, he'll be very apologetic and spoil the ever loving shit out of them. Immediate after care would be a nice long soak in the bath with him while he cleans them from the sweat and other bodily fluids, they might look pregnant at that point which would set off another round in the tub that then has to be cleaned up, but he'll be thinking about that image for a long while, might make you a nice little plug to keep all that in.

Normal Lucifer is much more controlled at first, and even when he's not he retains enough wits to try some things. He can shape-shift after all, I see no reason why he couldn't choose just to change one specific body part >.>, and he wants this experience to be as memorable as possible for both of them sooooo why not lol I doubt Lillith was ever one for much experimentation given it was against her nature to even be on the receiving end of such things in this AU. He'll be more of a dirty talker as opposed to a babble-sweet nothings type. However, just like Mourningstar he will give aftercare and clean them off in the tub, though if their stomach was distended he wouldn't go another round (doesn't mean the idea of having another child at some point doesn't thrill him in a way, but that'd be a whole big discussion with them and Charlie I'm not sure what goes into getting a sinner pregnant but I'm guessing he works some magic or something).

Both would give you a massage afterward and then rest with you. Usually it's about three days with help and a week without for a heat to last but with their care it's two days tops. With Mourningstar it'll be a few days recovery, though not that he'd hurt his princess purposefully it's more of a lingering soreness than anything, man was a savage, and he likely has a few good scratch marks from when they got really sensitive. I'm sorry if this sounds weird, but what are your headcanons for the main 5 (stan, kyle, cartman, kenny and butters) bodytypes they have?

I dont mean just cartman's fat/overweight, but actual type of bodies.

It doesn't sound weird at all, anon! I'll do my best to answer this in some decent detail since I don't include a ton of heavy descriptions in my work!

Also, I'm gonna stick with how they appear in EWILY since it’s my main work these days, but if you'd like to know how I see them as kids just let me know!

Stan: He has the most 'average' build of the main 5. Most of his excess weight is in his abdomen, so he has a soft tummy but is otherwise relatively fit. Definitely has the most muscle in his arms and shoulders, though his legs have still retained some of the muscle mass from when he played football. He also probably has the flattest ass, though that doesn't mean he's a board either. Again, very average.

Kyle: Lots of lean muscle, definitely a bit of a sleeper build. Still very active on the basketball team (when he isn't warming the bench rip king you try your best) so he works out semi-regularly, but especially in season. By far has the best ass, muscular but round. Brother never forgets to work those glutes! He's also the only boy besides Kenny to have visible abdominal muscles, though Kyle is closer to a soft four-pack than a full six.

Cartman: I NEED A BIG BOOOY!!! I'm sorry, I know you want more detail than just 'brother's fat', but it had to be said. Like Stan, he carries a lot of his weight in his abdomen, though with much more that spills over his pelvis. That doesn't mean his limbs aren't also thick of course, and naturally he has the largest man boobs. He’s just very round and soft, like a teddy bear honestly. He definitely also has the softest hands… due in no small part to the amount of lotion he uses.

Kenny: Absolute beefcake. He spends so much time at the school gym, partially to pass the time, partially because the showers are nicer than what he has at home and partially because he just wants to be hot. Very pronounced muscle definition with a clear six-pack, toned glutes and glorious pectorals. I think Kenny’s body has gotten the most clear descriptions in EWILY for… some reason. Hm. I can’t imagine why.

Butters: The definition of a beanpole. Tall and thin with awkwardly long limbs. He does have a long torso, but most of his height is in his legs for sure. He’s not particularly muscular per se, but he isn’t skin and bones either, and most of his minimal muscle definition is in his legs. Definitely does have the knobbiest joints of the main 5, and also has the most pronounced Adam’s apple (second is maybe Kyle or Kenny).

I hope this answers your question! I had a lot of fun with this one, especially considered I didn’t spend a ton of time describing the boys in my actual work haha

I'm skinny now and I don't like drawing larger body types due to the fact that ive had to deal with being fat before. It sucked! That's just how it is! I hate what the fat positivity movement has done to people. Sure you shouldn't be ashamed of it, a lot of people grow up fat, i did, but you shouldn't encourage people to think it's okay to be obese. That its healthy or that you shouldn't care about your health. Theres so much i could say about this but ughhh. So i dont draw fat characters. I can draw curvy with big hips and breasts and maaybe a bit of belly pudge if requested but i cannot do obese. I refuse. And people get mad at me for being "fatphobic". No i just refuse to encourage a lifestyle that is actively harmful. I once had someone try to commission me on twitter to draw their two fat OCs and get mad at me when i refused because of it. I to this day don't know why they wanted to commission me specifically when i very clearly don't draw fat people. I had to private my account after they and their friends began harassing me but eventually I decided it just wasn't worth staying on twitter. It was for multiple reasons but they were a big one. Ive seen tons of artists get harassment and hate comments about never drawing one thing or the other. It sucks. I cant wait for the body positivity movement to get burned to the ground cuz its all run by people who dont actually give a shit about peoples health and just want to feel validated in the fact that they dont care they will die at 30-40.

my anger isn't towards will being buff, my anger is over the fact that fandom has used noah schnapp's body type as a reason to mischaracterize will into someone that he isn't

finn has long hair and he's very skinny so he gets feminized by fandom a lot which bleeds into how fandom interacts with the character that he plays despite mike not having majority/majorly feminine traits

meanwhile noah grows up, goes through puberty, and gains a bit of muscle and suddenly will (in fandom's eyes) goes from being a sensitive, shy, sassy, and sweet kid to this macho guy that is super confident, super physically strong and athletic, and doesn't need to be saved or helped by anyone, and that literally sweeps people off their feet etc. like i'm sorry to tell you this but will is a damsel in distress lol. a HUUUUUUGE part of his character is that he was clocked way way way early as a young kid for being gay and that's why he got bullied. kids make fun of his clothes, they laugh at him, his father calls him slurs, teenagers and adults alike talk about him and his sexuality in a derogatory fashion, he gets called artistic and sensitive which in that era is the nice way of saying gay, etc etc. like. will turns into a scared hamster, he has the freeze response, he fights for his life but ultimately needs to accept help from others to save him, its about loving and being loved and allowing them to save you because there's nothing wrong with needing help, etc etc. like. will is canonically more effeminate than mike and yet bc finn is skinny with long hair and noah is bigger now people flip it around and that's just not who those characters are lol. they're CHARACTERS they're not finn and noah... and even then, noahs the one always wearing pink and wearing purses and who gets his (everything, really, but specifically) his sexuality picked the fuck apart bc of the way that he acts and so on and so forth. but, what...? he gets a couple of muscles and suddenly will is some macho hypermasc dude? why, because only skinny men can be seen as effeminate and sweet and sensitive and so on? since when is a body type a personality. its just so transparent that it's playing into the tiny subby girlboy x big buff hypermasc dom boy mlm stereotype and i Hate it.

another thing is that mike is always the one putting in the physical work, he jumps in without complaining, he helps carry people, he Knows How To Do Things etc etc while will is always the one off to the side letting everyone else work and when he Does do work it's the absolute bare minimum doing the easy part while sobbing and sighing and so on but... wait, noah has muscles so NAHHHH lets reverse it actually and make will the strong one and mike the weakling? why lol. what reason is there for this shift that came ONLY after noah's body changed.

mike is the knight in shining armor, he's the one that saves the damsel, he's the one that comes up with the plan and sees it through, he's the one trying his best even if he isn't always strong enough, he's the one protecting will with his body, he's the one hauling him up and moving him around, he's the one throwing hands IMMEDIATELY and throwing himself into the mix without hesitation, etc etc etc, meanwhile will is literally physically clinging to him, cowering behind him, looking to him to save him, and hyperventilating screaming crying whenever there's danger, and yet.... again..... after noah became no longer scrawny.... suddenly the roles in fanon got switched around? will literally draws mike as the guy standing in front of him, his knight in shining armor that he says has saved him in so many ways... and yet fandom wants to disregard that? just bc finn is skinny doesn't mean that mike isn't who he is. it doesn't mean that mike isn't capable and that he isn't the hero here. They Are Literally Characters they are not real they are not finn and noah they are CHARACTERS

they cast someone that was two years younger than everyone else with the babiest of babie faces for will because they wanted him to look a certain way and then when noah grew up they said they could either hide it or lean into it and guess what they did. they tried to hide it lmao. they put him in long sleeve shirts and baggy clothes (which laughably just made him look bigger lmao) and even asked noah to speak in a higher pitch. because guess what!!! noah is already not a Hypermasc Bodybuilder Worlds Strongest Man kind of guy, but will especially is NOT that. so why act like he is? will is Supposed to be the cute runt he represents so many things and included in that is innocence. everyone wants and has to protect him bc even though he's strong he still needs help. he cannot do this alone. the imagery of him being a speck compared to the mind flayer, a speck in the big big quarry, smaller than the rest of the party so much that he could literally disappear behind them, etc etc are all intentional.

like it just upsets me that noah gaining some muscle and growing taller made everyone turn will into someone that he isn't... there is nothing wrong with him being the way that he is and your body type does not change your entire fucking personality or life history....

gladly. i love talking about her

shes a 20 something year old german trans woman living in nz. shes 5'10" (somewhere around like 177.80cm) and a lesbian. she uses she/her pronouns but is fine with being called a guy or people using he/him for her as long as she know they believe her when she says shes a woman (like they dont mean it in a transphobic way). she has a deep voice and a german accent i havent really got much of the worldbuilding down yet but i do have most of her personality down. also her story takes place in some vague year between 2000 and now

shes kinda a huge loser like in the sense that she spends most of her time just sorta sitting around at home drinking beer and smoking while listening to industrial and hardcore and metal and shit (shes almost definitely depressed but im yet to explore that side of her lmao). she drinks and drives, shes incredibly wreckless. she kinda doesnt care that much about others but more in a way where shes just kinda always in her own head only thinking about herself and what she wants but when it comes to the people close to her shes incredibly protective like a guard dog. she acts like kinda a silly idiot around her loved ones but as soon as someone even looks at any of them wrong, shes fully ready to kill them. she clings onto her friends and stuff like theyre the last thing she has left. less in a desperate kinda codependent way and more in a "i could not live without you i will protect you with all i have trust me please stick around and keep me in your life i will make my existence worth your while" kind of way

shes a wannabe badass but also just is a badass. like she acts all cold and stoic but laid back, i guess in a way trying to seem all mysterious and cool but mostly just comes off like a bit of a jackass (cause she kinda is a bit of a jackass but she means well. sometimes.) i havent got to this part of the worldbuilding so i dont have an explanation for why she is this way but im planning that theres something she has to fight against or something like that. i have a bit of a vague idea of what i want but no specifics but she has a side to her where like shes actually kinda badass. she wears a wolf mask and carries around this baseball bat which the tip is like covered in nails and shit. im planning she gets covered in blood often because women covered in blood is awesome. im planning a theme with the group of characters she hangs out with where they all wear some kind of animal mask and each have their own weapon which like reflects their personality and whatnot

she works in a fast food restaurant which i feel like explains a lot about her

she mostly wears the mask to hide her identity but also to just hide her face in general. shes not insecure about how she looks but more just worried about what other people think of her. shes on hrt but she wants to keep her body hair cause she likes her body hair which includes her facial hair though she does regularly shave it cause she knows it gets her misgendered. she also wears a spiked collar and sometimes a leash (if shes not wearing a leash shes wearing some kind of bondage harness thing) both to continue the whole wolf dog thing shes got going on and also for sexual reasons of course

she has a romance thing going on with another oc of mine called blair (the name is a placeholder im so bad at picking names). blairs tiger/big cat coded shes more of the happy-go-lucky chaotic type. sophia goes incredibly soft for her like the whole trying to be a stoic badass thing completely drops around her she would sacrifice herself in a heartbeat if it meant blair was kept alive and safe which worries the fuck out of blair cause half the time she does not need to sacrifice herself but she puts herself in danger for blair often times for no reason cause she believes its what she needs to do to keep her safe. like her life is meaningless without blair so she'd rather be the one to die than live without blair. which like yeah theres a flaw in her logic cause like if she dies shes still without blair and now blairs sad but yknow. maybe she'll figure that out someday not sure tho shes a little stupid

Hey, I was wondering what separates high-quality birds from low-quality birds? I saw the term on the bantam comparison post, and I get the general idea, but every time I try to search it more specifically, it just gives me raw chicken.

A high quality bird is going to typically be overall a "better" bird then a low quality one and that can be different things for different breeds. For example in America we like our Ayam Cemani to be nice and shiny when in Indonesia they like their black to be dull and "darker" and some breeders actually select birds who have poor feather quality as an aesthetic. In that case those birds would look low quality to us but would be high quality to them. But i can still give my personal opinion on what makes a bird high quality.

A high quality chicken will have these traits

-Closely matches their breed standard or the historic traits of the breed. That means the birds shape, feather color and type, and personality all fit their breed.

-Great health, longer lived and a longer productive life meaning hens lay longer and roosters stay spunky for longer.

-Great feather quality, feathers are correctly shaped for their breed,sturdy, and dont wear down quickly.

- Colors have depth and richness to them. They should be uniform with no interuptions in the feather and patterns and transitions should be clean

-Good personality. The birds should be handable and good mannered even naturally skittish breeds should be worked with to improve that

You get the above with careful selection, breeding the right birds together and sourcing good foundational birds who fit the above criteria. A farm mutt can be high quality if its from good breeding and care in my opinion.

Hatchery quality or Low quality birds are birds typically bred under the idea that quantity is better then quality. Typically these birds will have the opposite traits to those i listed above.

Beeper for example is hatchery quality lets compare her to her breed standard and a bird id consider high quality, the bird on the left is Beeper and the one of the right is a Champion

Here is an illustration of a dark bantam brahma from the America standard of perfection from the 1950s. Keep in mind the hen on the right above could angle her neck like the picture below, her head is just more relaxed.

Here is what the standards want and say is most important, ill pick out the things that pertain to Beeper specifically. Im using the australian open poultry standards for my source.

-The head and crown are most important breed characteristics. Texture of the feathers is also of great importance, for the plumage should be smooth fitting and not loose- feathered and soft as in the Cochin.

-The head is small, rather short, of medium breadth, and with slight prominence over the eyes. Beak short and strong. Eyes large and prominent. Comb triple (or "pea"), small, closely fitting and drooping behind. Face smooth, free from feathers or hairs. Earlobes long and fine, free from feathers. Wattles small, fine, and rounded, free from feathers.

-Comb, Face, Earlobes and Wattles should be bright red.

-The Body should be broad, square, and deep; full breast, with horizontal keel; short back, either flat or slightly hollow between the shoulders, the saddle rising half-way between the hackle and the tail until it reaches the tail coverts ; medium-sized wings with lower line horizontal, free from twisted or slipped feathers, well tucked under the saddle feathers, which should be of ample length; tail of medium length, rising from the line of the saddle and carried nearly upright, the quill feathers well spread, the coverts broad and abundant, well curved, and almost covering the quill feathers

With those standards i have listed and the the comparsions i have shown i want you to make your own judgements (like your a poultry judge) on why Beeper isnt the same quality as the hen on the right.

(Also i want to say sometimes these comparisons hurt peoples feelings for some reason. I love Beeper her not being the best quality doesnt make me love her any less lol)

I've decided to start a rewatch of FMA 03 to write my thoughts on each episode and share them here. I wanna do the same with FMAB eventually but we'll see how it goes. Anyway,

Episode 1: To Challenge The Sun Ok, so, first off, I LOVE 03's artstyle. I don't know how to define it, but I already love how 2000s animes look, and when you combine it with 03's palette, then use Hiromu Arakawa's artstyle as a base, you get this eye-orgasm that is the whole show. I mean, just look at these two screencaps, for example!

And you could say that I'm using the two stills that are specifically drawn to stay in your memory and not standard frames, which have way less effort put into them, and to that I say FUCK YOU, check this out!

Like, look at the way the rain stays on the ground, look at how fucking much it's coming down in the second pic, look at the colors of Ed's coat or Al's armor, look at that bright blue sky-- Do you see what I'm talking about!? THIS SHOW LOOKS SO! GOODDDD!!!!!

But enough about the colors. I wanna talk about the narrative and characters now. For starters, this is a great first episode. It sets you up with the dramatic, gory and even horrifying (with that look they give us of Sloth's face) incident that was Ed and Al's human transmutation, and it leaves you asking what the fuck happened until the end of the episode, where Ed and Al themselves explain that they committed a horrible mistake, a sin, even, and that they paid the price for it. But it also shows you how goofy and fun the show can be, establishing the dynamic and usual antics the brothers go through, with Ed generally being the hotheaded and loud one, while Al is the patient and reserved one, as well as the one that's always trying to make his older brother calm down when someone does so much as mention his height.

Then Al tells Rose the basics about the show's not-so-magic-please-dont-call-it-magic-it-makes-edward-really-mad-for-some-reason system: Alchemy. The science of understanding, deconstructing and reconstructing matter, and how its most important law is equivalent exchange. And then it throws another hook at you, what with Cornello performing a 'miracle' that Edward says is just alchemy both without a transmutation circle and also completely ignoring the laws of alchemy (and that question is not answered until episode 2 so letsjustskiprightoverthatpleasethankyou).

Another thing I wanted to mention is how cynical and even annoying Ed is about science vs. superstition, even to the point where Al complains about it. Though something that confused me at first is how, when Ed is being all "yeah science is the best religion sucks how did you know im subscribed to r/atheism' to Rose, he mentions that it's only a matter of time before science finds a way to bring someone back to life, but when confronted by Cornello, he shows his automail to rose and says "You need to see what happens when you try to bring a human to life, when you cross into God's territory". At first I thought it was just him being arrogant, then for some reason I thought he was faking it just to make his speech to Rose make a stronger impact on her, but then I remembered Ed had no way of knowing it was gonna get to the point where Rose would see his automail, and then I realized it's because at this point in the show the Elrics are still looking for the stone, it's probably just Edward still having that tiny shred of hope of seeing his mom again, even if the reason they're looking for the stone is to get their bodies back and not try to revive Trisha again.

Then there's the voice acting. I'm gonna get this out of the way right now: I know about Vic's controversy, though I would say I'm not really "properly" informed, or at least not as much as I think I should be for this type of discussion, so I'll just limit myself to saying that he's a great VA, and I think Ed's speech at the end of the episode is a really good argument as to why. Then there's Al's VA, Aaron Dismuke. And I've wanted to say this for a long time, I absolutely ADORE that they chose to use an actual child for Al's voice here. Not only does it make sense in-universe, with Al having lost his body at the age of, like, 6 or 7, but he also fits the role perfectly. He constantly sounds gentle and well-mannered. And like, I love Maxey Whitehead's performance in Brotherhood. I think she did a great job and actually managed to sound like a boy instead of just using her normal voice and maybe making it a bit higher pitched (and/or raspier for some reason? idk, no disrespect but ive heard some vas make their voices raspier for some reason and i dont get why the fuck they do that), but when compared to Aaron...yeah, no, sorry, but she has no chance. Especially when Al's voice actually changes a bit in CoS because he has his body back and he's grown up, instead of keeping the exact same VA they used before like in Brotherhood (though thats more of a voice direction thing really, but it still frustrates me). The rest of the cast doesn't stand out very much to me, at least not in this episode, but they're good too.

And I guess the only thing left to talk about would be the action, but there's not much of it in this first episode, which I guess would be the only negative thing that I can find about it. Though from what we're shown at the end of it, it is pretty good, fast paced, and smooth. I need a gif in order to expand on what I'm trying to say here but I wasn't able to find any blogs or whatever that had any from the first episode's singular action scene, so I'm sadly getting cut short.

Anyway, It's like 11PM on a sunday when I'm posting this and I still got a couple things to do before heading to bed so, I'm sorry for not having a proper conclusion but I am TIRED. I started writing this shit like an hour ago. Buh bye, have a good day.

So I was going through some Krieg fics on AO3 and found your story "Monstrous"... Fuck that hit way too close to home. It was so amazingly written, I can sympathize bc I suffer with self loathing in my worse times, some of it was like seeing my own thoughts written out in front of me. I'm 1000% going to be reading Paging Doctor Samuels once I get the time to, I can tell its something you've had a passion for based on how much content you have going for it. Keep up the amazing writing 💙

AUUUUUGHHH THANK YOUUU monstrous is honestly one of my favorite things ive ever written like i poured my GUTS into that thing brother. I try so hard to capture him right. Hes always been a challenge for me because of a few reasons, i try to keep his thought patterns as realistic as i can with also acknowledging that hes like. Not normal yknow??? I don't like going oh psycho krieg sane krieg babbling back and forth i dont think real people work like that (even in someone with DID. I don't think he does have DID i just think he has a compartmentalized personality and schizo-affective disorder.) I don't like saying a specific disorder because i think that ties him too much to real life and it devalues people who have like schizophrenia or bipolar or other real cluster b personality disorders.. i dont think its right to add a real label to a character they specifically made to be an ahhh crazy psycho dude...... THAT BEING SAID! i think he (especially in the dlc) is one of the more respectful renditions of a severe mental illness that ive seen and i do want to keep him in that vein of believability.

Him saying "my other self" is referring to what everyone thinks is psycho krieg, but to me when I look at that, its not different from him. He says "my other self" to distance himself from things he finds revolting/stuff hed "never do". I think his body image is one of the leading things that effect this and thats kinda why i wrote this. He looks in the mirror and he doesnt see himself. He sees a thing that someone else made and attached his soul to. a lot of what i focus on with him is the acceptance stage in grief, i think thats the hardest part and people definitely back track a lot.

Hes grieving his past self. Its a big issue for him. He misses something he doesn't remember, and thinking of it for too long scares him. He feels stuck. He feels stupid. He feels like hes lost.

Mayas kinda like an anchor for him. Not in a manic pixie dream girl type of way- i dont think either of them see her as that- but like a support system. Everyone benefits from someone who can ground you during a crisis and i don't necessarily think it has to be a romantic partner but in this case it is, cus she knows him well enough and she sees and can identify the signs of him when hes going through it.

Krieg to me is a very private person. He puts on a persona to people for defense. The fact that Maya can see right through it makes him WILDLY uncomfortable. Cus he's always been taught that in order to be a good partner for someone (a man with a woman specifically) you cant act dangerous or threatening at all to them or else its predatory and youre seen like an abuser. He thinks his whole being is dangerous. Its not really that he struggles with masculinity, thats not a problem for him really its more like hes been told that he SPECIFICALLY is undesirable, he specifically is overly violent, hes too big, hes too unhinged to be in a healthy relationship with a woman. (This goes back further than the experimentation i feel like his mother specifically had something to do with his self image + why he became a mercenary in the first place.)

Maya doesn't care about that. Shes had like . 0000000001% of the romantic/sexual experience that he's had she does NOT know what a typical relationship looks like whatsoever. She doesnt even call him her boyfriend she doesn't define relationships like that at all. They're partners thats what she sees. Theyre equals to eachother. Mayas just as if not more fucked in the head as he is, and twice as dangerous.

She'll support him through anything he needs and she loves him for his uniqueness and his roughness and his WHOLE personality not just what he thinks is likeable about him. His thought process getting with her started as " she can see that deep down im not a monster" to "shed still be there even if i was a monster and still feel the same way" its subtle but its emotionally wrecking to him because that means she's really not there to coddle him. Its not tough love like you and i would say necessarily but he has this image in his head that if he found true love hed go "back to normal" and if he doesn't then hes not trying hard enough. He's gotta accept he'll never be normal and that's completely fine.

With that though comes loneliness. Even if he accepts hes different its still very isolating. It doesn't have to be though, especially in borderlands.

Krieg is still human. Thats probably the most important thing to me. He looks a little funny but his heart beats red blood and his head is full of deep philosophy and love and emotions that only people can experience.

Sentience is a blessing and i feel like he needs to learn that that blessing includes him :) thanks for reading.
