While i work I've been listening to an LP of the Telltale Walking Dead Games (the ones with clementine, I do not care about the others lmao). Ages ago when I played these I was well aware/amused that part of season 2 takes place in Parker's Crossroads/Parker's Run because I grew up right next to it and the detail stood out to me. But I never caught the line of "We'll head to parker's run. It's just up the road from here" until just right now. So I had a sort of "wait, where the fuck are they supposed to be right now?" (search)

Went for more of a "I wear what I want, and what I want is shark" look this time. She's ready for everything, even if everything isn't ready for them. Still pretty cynical, but after being taken in by her uncle, Cleff, and given a safe space to fully explore and be herself, they're learning that maybe, just maybe, life can be worth living.

people will say clem should have died at the end of s4 like we didnt get the entire barn sequence. like clem didnt literally become lee in the end seeing his fate through her own eyes. like they didnt fake us out sooooo hard. like they didnt play take us back to hammer it home. the game ended on the pan out of the ericson gates and everything after that is the epilogue where things are Fine Actually and clem gets her happy ending. we got BOTH!!

like what you wanted her fate to be the same as lees? did you miss the themes throughout s4 of breaking the cycle?? did you miss aj feeling so helpless to a fate clem sees as inevitable? where all he wants is agency? where hes looking for another way?? he tells clem she wont always be able to tell him no and he was RIGHT!! he says NO to her death!! he makes his choice and SAVES HER!! she told him they couldnt be together in death and so he said then youll have to keep living!!!

and she does!!! she loses her leg but she gains a Home. a REAL ONE!! full of people who love her. where they get to choose their own paths and make their own future Together. and she finally gets some fucking Rest. a part of herself dies in that barn but a new part gets to emerge!! she gets to live a happy life surrounded by a loving community that she helps build!!! and you think she shouldve died 😐

the thing about a starstruck odyssey. that i run into. is that margaret's position is not really discussed w any depth or specificity at least up to like. the point i have watched to. and that's a bummer specifically bc the position of the show seems to be that: she decided to help this ragtag team and she left the company before she did anything irredeemable. but this is disproven by her position. like it is unbelievable that she did not believe in scummy things and go along with horrible actions in order to reach her level of prestige.

the impression that margaret is a good person, that she's trying to get out of bad company, is largely bc ally plays margaret as someone who is fair and sympathetic to other people. ally beardsley (player) wants to help so margaret encino (character) must also have good impulses. which is nearly impossible to reconcile with margaret's backstory at this point. like. why is she doing any of this. she's such a weird character.

also. the way the show/game reacts to her wielding her power is a little unsettling. none of the crew are good people necessarily, but there is a recognition of the way norman's power and his use of it is abusive. this recognition does not carry through into recognizing the inevitable harm margaret must have actively pursued to have the position she does, and the way that power then influences the crew. its a little bizarre!

thinking about how they sell agent action figures at a motherlobe gift shop, and they sell like hot cakes for kids and collectors. while agents like sasha sell very well, if oleander ever got a figure, it wouldn't be sought after as much. crystal feels so so so bad when she sees she has to restock the more popular agents, and every shift, the coach stock remains pretty much unchanged. oleander sometimes checks, too, and shrugs it off, but crystal can sense he's dejected because no one wants his figure, so she buys one! and when oleander comes in, seeing a notable single dent in his section, he's got a big grin on his face! she has the coach figure in her room, and chloe looks at it, and asks if she can face oleander away from her bed. (crystal and chloe are roommates for like a week, but their differences make sleeping arrangements VERY difficult because chloe is a night owl, and crystal is trying to sleep earlier, so chloe gets a separate dorm, and crystal gets a new roommate with (checks my list) (pauses) (insert character here because i haven't thought this far lol)

after talking it over, clem and charlie are both on the same page that they don’t want any more children. between marnie, pets, the farm animals and crops, life is already pretty busy. and with marnie having no desire for siblings between her animals, hobbies, and friends to keep her company, they feel quite secure in their decision ❤️
