To say that Kurt was excited Rachel had come back to Bearcreek would have been a mild understatement. He was thrilled that she had decided to come back home, even if it was only temporarily. Hell, he'd promised himself that he was only going to stay in Bearcreek for a few months; cut to nearly two and a half years later, he'd let his lease on his apartment run out, joined an acting troupe in Philadelphia, and officially considered himself moved back home. Life in Bearcreek didn't move anywhere near as fast as it did in New York City, but there was an odd sort of calm to it that he hadn't expected to enjoy as much as he did. It helped him come back to himself when he'd previously been living for anyone but himself in New York; his relationship with Trent was a prime example of that. The fact that he'd chosen to stay in an abusive relationship for so long because Trent had warped how he saw himself still made him incredibly upset with himself; he was determined to get back to his old self, never letting himself get back to the idea that he deserved less. Pulling his jacket off as he stepped into the family diner that his mother had once owned, now owned and run by his aunt, he hung his jacket up on the coat rack before finding an empty booth near the windows. He made idle conversation for a moment with one of the diner waitresses before ordering himself a coffee and pulling out his phone, waiting for his friend to arrive.
