@fatexbound liked for a starter for haru! ☾
“Thanks for coming out with me today,” Akira began, gripping the bar overhead as the train came to a stop. Even though she was a member of the team now, it still felt a bit odd asking Haru out alone sometimes. Not that he had any desire to let her know this, but he wasn't totally sure how to act around her. He was still feeling out how to speak to the richest person he knew when he'd never been all that great with any more than the basics of manners before.
That wasn't the only area out of his range of expertise, however. His helping her garden was also something he'd never had a chance to do before. His parents had never been one to get their hands dirty, and he would have believed it too boring of an activity to bother going out of his way to do. Now that he was doing it alongside her and reaping the rewards in the Metaverse, he figured he ought to try and take it a bit more seriously. This had been the reason he'd given for inviting her out: he needed her help in picking out some books and, potentially some seeds.
Their first stop, though, was the bookstore in Jinbocho. This was obviously a better option than the bookstore in Shinjuku, considering who he'd come out with. He stepped out after her once the doors opened. “Is it mostly vegetables and flowers that you have experience with?” he asked her, attempting to work out how much standing up straight would be required in this interaction. “I've been thinking about trying some fruits out at some point.” A lot of them grew on trees, though, didn't they? This was the problem in him trying to do the shopping for himself: he felt like a fish out of water even trying.
