open: m/f/nb plot: x / there have been a recent string of murders in town, with the killer copying the style of devyn’s father (an infamous serial killer who’s been in jail for a decade). naturally, most people think devyn is to blame, but she has nothing to do with it. despite the murders, someone decided to throw a house party with devyn and your muse in attendance. who: devyn de silva, she/her, 20, student/thief

from the second she set foot in the near stranger’s home, devyn knew she’d made a mistake. all she wanted was one night of normalcy, just a few hours to forget her past and escape the judgmental stares and harsh whispers of the stuffy old folks in town. turns out, people her age were just as critical as everyone else. making a break from the raucous merriment taking place on the ground floor, devyn slunk away to the basement for more refreshments (and some much needed alone time). just as she’d reached the fridge, the sound of footsteps heading down the stairs drew her attention, eyes narrowing as she prepared herself for yet more presumptuous remarks and suspicious glances. “what are you doing following the freak down into the basement?” her go-to defense mechanism was to insult herself before anyone else had the chance to, therefor stripping their critiques of all power. “that’s horror movie 101— don’t go anywhere alone, and definitely don’t go in the basement.” despite the recent murders that had shaken up their small town, devyn wasn’t scared. living through her father’s reign of terror had hardened her nerves, ridding her of the ability to feel fear. “haven’t you heard? i’m supposedly  to blame for all this slasher s.hit. guess you never got the memo...”
