"how was y/n in highschool? she was really beautiful and really kind! i used to have a crush on her back then that's why i never talked to her. i think i still do" he laughed at the thought "she always watched my performances before, i can't even count the amount of times i made eye contact with her while i was performing! she's really supportive"

now you might be confused..how exactly did sunghoon manage to convince the staff and not get scolded after quite literally confessing his feelings for y/n?

well despite the amount of articles of dating issues that were being spread all over the internet, they noticed the huge difference it was making. the amount of likes their twitter and instagram posts were getting were usually high so they just let the boy do he please

now back to sunghoon..

"did you get jealous of jungwon?" sunghoon laughed "jealous? why would i get jealous of our precious leader-nim?"

i know he just confessed his feelings for y/n but he still plans to tease, definitely just for the thrill

"hello!" sunoo greets cheerfully when they reached ethereal's table

the four girls smiled, greeting them back with a small 'hi' or 'hello'

"can we sit with you guys?" jungwon asked politely "OF COURSE!" wonyoung answered, a bit too enthusiastically making her fellow members chuckle

the boys took their own seats and once everyone was seated, y/n noticed someone missing making her raise a brow "you guys seem incomplete"

jungwon nodded with an apologetic smile "apparently sunghoon hyung was 'not hungry'" he explained, making quotation marks using his fingers. at that sunoo playfully rolled his eyes "then he'll ask us to buy him food later" he complained while eating his food, a small pout visible on his lips as he did so

"awhh. was kinda looking forward to talking to him though" y/n says with a faux sad expression on her face "but it's fine! i'll talk to you guys instead, sun and wonie are adorable by the way!" y/n adds, smile now painting her lips

a chorus of ouch and hey echoed through Hybe's silent hallways. Jay was practically dragging Sunghoon by the ear while the younger kept on whining about how he's going to rip his ear off, some staffs that they would bump into would just brush it off as one of their daily bickerings

soon enough once they reached the meeting room, Jay finally let go of Sunghoon's ear. he opened the door while his fellow 02z was busy complaining about how his ears were now red, to which Jay ignored.

with all eyes on them, Sunghoon silently followed Jay to sit beside him, still holding his ear with his fingers

"well, that's about everyone. i believe we can start the meeting now?" one of the managers asked and everyone nods in response

Sunghoon took a deep breath before speaking, not even waiting for the managers to open the presentation "first of all, i apologize for going live without telling the staffs. i know what idol life is like and apparently i've done and said things that could ruin, not only mine but also my junior's career. i also apologize to y/n y/l/n-ssi for revealing such information without your consent. i don't mean any harm and—" before Sunghoon could carry on with his long speech, Ethereal's manager cut him off with a chuckle

"ah..there must be a misunderstanding here, Sunghoon-ssi. we're not here to talk about that. we're here to talk about the vlog that Ethereal and Enhypen are going to film in a few days..you do know that Jungwon-ssi filmed with Y/nie just a few days ago right?" Sunghoon stood there dumbfounded what the fuck was going on?

his eyes went from the managers, you and to his members. and when he made eye contact with Jay, he didn't miss the small smirk that formed in the older's lips "YOU!" he pointed at his hyung in an accusing manner "you and i will face this like real men! meet me at Hybe's rooftop after this meeting!" laughter filled the once silent room, the managers laughing along as Sunghoon plopped down on his seat with his arms crossed

silence embraced the kitchen as they ate breakfast silently. no one daring to open their mouth to speak, just awkward glances passed around the room as they munched on whatever they're eating

"so..how did your embarrassing moment happen?, sunghoon hyung" sunoo asked while trying to stop himself from laughing

a few muffled laughs were heard here and there while sunghoon huffed. a small pout forming in his lips when sunoo brought up his embarrassing moment

noticing how sunghoon had no plans on saying what happened, jay and jake exchanged glances before the older cleared his throat.

"well we were-" sunghoon immediately covered jay's mouth, eyes wide when he realized that jay was actually going to tell them how it happened. "hold on- you're actually going to tell them?!" he whined

the youngest of the hyung line shook his head making the other members groan "you're such a killjoy sunghoon hyung!" a huff left riki's mouth, words kinda muffled due to the food in his mouth

"don't speak with food in your mouth, riki-san" jaeyun reminded. he turned towards his fellow 02z friends who were still bickering, a sigh leaving his lips before turning back to the members

"we were walking back to our practice room and y/n just so happen to pass by. she was on her way to the vending machine when sunghoon stopped and literally yelled "are you the cute girl from highschool?" while pointing towards y/n who was walking in peace" jake explained before sunghoon could cover his mouth

laughter filled the once silent kitchen while sunghoon crossed his arms, a pout in his lips still evident "you're no longer my soulmate!" he says, his head turning to the side with a huff "parksim café is now closed!" sunghoon adds dramatically

the members continued laughing with tears building in their eyes "c- can we have a more detailed version? i mean- why would you suddenly ask that out of the blue?" heeseung says between laughters

sighing, sunghoon looks up at his members "fine! this is the only time i'll say this so listen to every detail"

flashback ─ june 02 2022 @ hybe building

"man i feel like i'm third wheeling right now" jay complains as he walked behind jake and sunghoon, watching as the two playfully pushed each other while arguing about what they should name their future café

the two ignored the oldest and carried on with their antics, this went on for a few minutes before sunghoon suddenly stopped to look at a certain direction

both jay and jake stopped to give sunghoon a confused look before following sunghoon's gaze. they raised their brows when they saw choi y/n, ethereal's leader, walking towards the vending machine

jay was about to ask something but sunghoon beat him into talking first─ well, more like yelling

"ARE YOU THE CUTE GIRL FROM HIGHSCHOOL?" he yelled while pointing towards y/n who now stopped walking to turn to look at the three boys' direction

obviously, she was confused and surprised at the same time. but before she could answer sunghoon was snapped back into reality and ran away as quick as he could

the 2js was stuck between wanting to laugh, confusion and secondhand embarrassment but they ran after sunghoon when they felt y/n staring at them with confusion still clear in her eyes
