Nana took some deep breaths as she carefully tucked Akira into her bag for hopefully the last time. She approached the designated meetup spot of the cafe Seiko and Haru worked at. The plan was making her nervous, but she’d cross that bridge when she got there. For now, she just needed everyone else to show up. Celari opens the door, beckoning them in before taking a seat beside Sumi, who was seemingly a bit tired.

She looks to the side, rubbing her arm. "Well, y'know, we haven't really hung out at all recently, and no one keeps me updated on the club anymore, and I really haven't talked to most of my friends recently, and the only ones I have it's cause I needed something from them, and I don't think I've been being a good girlfriend either, and at home is..." She trailed off. "...I just... feel sad. And like I'm just being an obstacle. And I don't know how to... Not feel like that.

...And I feel bad because I was so wrapped up in my own feelings that I didn't notice you seemed stressed too..."

Sumi walks up to Suzu, opens her mouth as if to say something, closes it, looks away and sits there in awkward silence for a few seconds, before finally actually speaking.

"...Suzu, am I a bad friend?"

Suzu blinks in surprise, taking in the situation, before holding her hands out in front of her and shaking them like how anime girls do when they’re denying something, you know that gesture? It’s that.

so uh

yeah basically

i kinda just had the thought 'mel has a nightmare where he dies and then freaks tf out and sumi comforts him' and went mhm yep time to make a comic without thinking twice.

the uh. weird black blob thing in mel's dream is pretty much just an abstract representation of his fears bc dreams are weird and i couldn't think of something better.

also bc im shit at backgrounds, he's sleeping on a small mattress on the floor in sumi's room, don't worry about it.

why does he put on his glasses? well you'd be scared if you couldn't see after having a dream where you fucking died too, wouldnt you?

also in panel 4 of page three he's looking at his hand bc it won't stop shaking

and then he kinda just. curls up into a ball kinda. sits there crying

and then sumi wakes up and is like 'dude you good' and he just clings onto her for dear life so she hugs him the end

Sumi let out a little sigh as she walked home. Everything was going well, really. Her grades were - for once - actually doing pretty well (thanks in no small part to Nathan finally agreeing to tutor her, and warming up to her a bit in the process), she had been hanging out with her friends and Midori, and mom and dad seemed to be in better moods, but still... She just couldn't feel as if everything was OK.

...And it didn't help that she could barely ever think things through anymore either. Hm... Maybe she should go talk to somebody. But who...

Oh! Maybe whoever was principal right now? Things had been going smoothly for the past while, so it was probably someone responsible.

Yeah. Yeah! She would do that tomorrow. Maybe-hopefully that would help.
