NPCs/Request Only characters on this blog
So I decided that instead of making a separate page for the NPCs/Request Only muses on the blog, I went ahead and just put them on the regular muses page and tagged them as such with the filter option.
I’m gonna do a little mini info drop about them below the cut, since I don’t wanna work on their pages rn. These are mostly going to cover their FALL.OUT verses, since that’s considered their ‘canon’. Some things can vary in different verses, but I’ll cover that more when I actually get their pages and stuff up.
Pierce:
His real name is Adrian Pierce and he’s Jax’s abusive ex-boyfriend and the one who introduced Jax to the raider lifestyle. In his canon Fall.out verse, he was born in a Vault that ran like a religious cult, with his step-father, Gideon, leading it. It was a very controlling and abusive environment for Pierce and his younger brother, Adam. He ran away at 15 after his childhood crush and later boyfriend, Jacob, was killed by Gideon. He lived on his own for several years, surviving however he could until he met another man named Andre, who he married and adopted a son named Nicky. Unfortunately, due to a series of bad decisions on Pierce’s part, Nicky was killed and his relationship with Andre fell apart. This is when he went out on his own again and became a raider, where he eventually met Jax (then going by Jason) and brought him into the gang. They were together for five years, until Jason grew tired of the abuse at the hands of Pierce and killed him.
Pierce is almost always involved in Jax’s backstory to some degree, though it’s only in Fall.out where he typically dies.
The only current exception to a verse where Pierce isn’t involved in Jax’s backstory is his (Pierce’s) FC5 verse and the FC5 au I have with @longthoughtlost , where Celia is the deputy and Jax is a part of her group.
Sara:
Jax’s girlfriend after Pierce. She was born to a wealthy family living near the New Vegas Strip, where she began working as a waitress at one of the casinos. She meets Jason there a year after he killed Pierce. The two entered a passionate relationship that lasted two years, ending when Jason, falling back into old habits with chems and alcohol and self-loathing, left her without warning. At the time of their breakup, Sara had just recently learned she was pregnant with twins, who she gave birth to and named Mason and Madison. She never told Jax about their existence due to his dangerous lifestyle, until years later when she became terminally ill with cancer and soon passed away. Mason went to live with Jax in Boston, while Madison stayed behind to live with Sara’s then-girlfriend, Catherine.
Sara is always involved in Jax’s backstory and they will always have the twins together unless a thread/verse takes place before they meet, which is typically when Jax is much younger.
She always gets cancer and, as of now, doesn’t have a verse where she survives it.
Mason and Madison:
Mason and Madison are, as mentioned above, the children of Jax and Sara. They were born in the Mojave after their parents’ breakup and Sara, along with her girlfriend, raised them together until Sara died. Mason went to live with Jax in Boston, wanting to know who his father is. Madison stayed in the Mojave with Catherine, not wanting anything to do with her father, believing that he had abandoned them.
These two are always involved in Jax’s backstory when Sara is involved, but Jax doesn’t know about their existence 99.9% of the time unless discussed otherwise, or in a thread where Mason is living with him (or obviously after he’s adopted them, like how he does in his modern verse).
Braden:
Braden is the adopted son of Savannah and, in every current verse, Cisco (though it would be possible in some threads for her to adopt him even if she isn’t with Cisco). He is in orphaned Brotherhood scribe living with the chapter in Boston aboard the Prydwen. He was born in the Capital Wasteland and his father was a Brotherhood solider and his mother was a settler. The two shared a brief relationship and, after Braden was born, they parted ways and Braden was given to his father to raise due to the fact that being with the Brotherhood was believed to the best option for him. His father died when Braden was seven and he was raised by the Brotherhood, travelling with them when they moved to Boston. He met Savannah shortly after she joined the ranks and Braden won her over almost immediately. However, it takes a couple years for them to build up enough of a relationship and for Savannah to get into a good enough spot to finally adopt him. However, it is possible for her to adopt him sooner in the instance of the Brotherhood being destroyed by the Sole Survivor.
It is possible for Braden to be mentioned in threads and even show up, but this will probably not happen unless discussed between muns simply because he’s not crucial to Savannah’s backstory and development like the other NPCs on here.
Due to Savannah’s complicated relationship with Jax, (which I really need to make a post over at some point), she tends to keep Braden away from him in most cases, so Jax’s relationship with Braden is almost nonexistent until later when Braden is older and Jax calms down a bit from his raider lifestyle. Braden, however, is close to his cousin, Mason, due to Savannah frequently being his babysitter, and the two share a sibling like relationship.

A Character Study of Cadence Nash
Cadence Nash, at the start of the series, is a 24-year-old fire-metahuman who is tasked by the Assassination Bureau to not only kill Barry Allen, but use his connections with STAR Labs to get information on Harrison Wells and the Particle Accelerator explosion.
Cadence is on the shorter side, at five feet, four inches. She was originally an even five feet tall, her short stature due to her gymnastics and cheerleading background, but I changed it to her being taller simply because of how visually (though mentally, since we can’t actually watch fics, lol) hard it would be to have certain things happen later down the line. She has long, dark brown hair that she either straightens or leaves wavy, depending on her mood. She has hazel eyes that tend to look bluer or greener depending on the lighting. She has a thinner, athletic body due to her background in sports, and has a scar on her left cheek that becomes more noticeable when she’s smiling, often off-setting her outgoing personality with a hint of mystery.
She was born in Metropolis, Kansas to her parents Kent and Maya Nash, who came into their wealth from their advertising company. Cadence grew up as a spoiled, only child who was granted anything she asked for. In return, she had to keep up the appearance of being the ‘perfect family’ in the public eye of the socialites with the likes of the Luthers in Metropolis, and the Queens in then Starling City. As she grew older, Cadence easily balanced the life of being the ‘perfect daughter’ who didn’t talk back and did as was asked and the ‘perfect student’ who aced all her classes, was co-captain of the cheerleading team, a social butterfly, and the most popular girl in school along with what her parents didn’t see; that she regularly drank and partied, and skipped class with her friends and boyfriend (though she was careful not to get drunk unless knowing she wouldn’t get caught). However, it wasn’t the biggest secret she held; she was a fire metahuman—a Firestarter—and had been since she was eight-years-old. Keeping so many secrets made it easy for her to juggle the different parts of her life with ease, though it slowly started to eat away at her.
She met and started to date Ryder Moseley after he moved to Metropolis from Savannah, Georgia. The two fall in love and ultimately fall pregnant when Cadence is 16. They keep it a secret from everyone until she starts to show, which results in her alienation from her peers and being kicked out of school until she gives birth. Ryder steps up and wants to be there for the baby, but his parents, out of embarrassment, send him to Coast City in California. On her own, Cadence decides to name the baby boy Braden Michael Nash—Braden after her name, Cadence, and Michael as Ryder’s middle name is Michael, and raise it on her own. Her parents are hot and cold about her pregnancy; extremely upset at first, but then adore the baby when it arrives. However, it isn’t long until Kent determines that Cadence needs to move out, leaving her baby behind to ensure he gets the proper care while she makes a life for herself, but Cadence refuses, takes her baby, and moves out on her own, cutting off all ties with her family.
She eventually finds her way to Central City where she slowly starts off her life in homeless shelters while caring for her baby, and making her way through school until she receives her degree and goes through residency until the fateful day she runs into Barry Allen in the waiting room of the office she was doing residency in.
However, it’s not until later that she (and readers) realize that all isn’t as it seems.
Cadence is a very outgoing girl, to the point that it’s no surprise to anyone she used to be a cheerleader. She loves to have fun and will do anything for a laugh, even harmlessly tease those closest to her. To that extent, she is blunt and likes to potentially embarrass others though her mild teasing. On the other hand, due to her past and being a teen mom, she can be very serious in contrast to others who are her age. She is dedicated, loyal, and courageous, all seen as she decided to take the risk and take her baby with her as she moved from her home with nothing but the clothes on her back. However, on the negative side, she can be closed-minded, ruthless, and dishonest. Her greatest fears are losing loved ones and being hated while the things she wants most out of life is respect and love from those around her. She is deathly afraid of insects.
Cadence’s parents are Kent and Maya Nash; as much as she loves them, she also hates them for having kicking her out of her house after becoming pregnant and giving birth. Over the course of the series, their relationship strengthens though Cadence does continue to make comments that her parents are ‘insane’. Kent is a strong corporate man who will stop at nothing to crush his opponents, however he is very loving to his daughter and grandson. Cadence was so much a daddy’s girl that he was intensely disappointed when she became pregnant (it is this disappointment and his growing brain tumor, unknown to Cadence, that causes him to push his only daughter away). Maya, on the other hand, is a woman who loves her socialite life and tends to come across as naïve due to her view of the extravagance the world has to offer her.
It is later reveled that Kent and Maya are Cadence’s adoptive parents while her birth parents are Harrison Wells and Tess Morgan, of whom Cadence knew to be her parents’ best friends. Kent and Maya suffered numerous miscarriages before being told they couldn’t have children due to the danger that is posed on Maya’s life. Harrison and Tess are pregnant, but find that they don’t have space for children in their lives and decide to allow their best friends to adopt their baby girl (who they named Cadence due to their love of classical music) so long as she doesn’t know they’re her parents. A tough decision that Harrison and Tess struggle with over the years. Cadence doesn’t have a relationship with Harrison and Tess until after the revelation of Tess being alive and her true parentage. She is angry at both sets of her parents for a while until deciding to allow them all into hers and her sons’ lives.
Her relationship with Team Flash are her biggest relationships throughout the story. Originally, she doesn’t tell Team Flash that she’s Brady’s mother, but when she does, they receive the news with respect and understanding (until Barry is whammied, anyway).
Barry Allen is her target within the Assassination Bureau, a mercenary group who is hired by others to kill their targets. She’d killed numerous targets before meeting Barry, finding herself at odds with being able to kill him as they grow closer, sharing their experiences of being a metahuman, not knowing many others. It isn’t until the Assassination Bureau go in to capture Barry that she finds out they used her and brainwashed her to get to him. Barry is angry with her at first, thinking she’s betrayed him, but Cadence manages to earn their trust when fighting back against the group. They were real close friends since their meeting before falling in love and ultimately ending up engaged by season 3 and married in season 4. She and Barry are partners in every sense of the word, they complete each other within their own shortcomings and their powers work together offensively in attacks and defensively to “recharge” each other.
Cisco Ramon is Cadence’s ride or die buddy, they both love to have fun and considering themselves the more entertaining duo of STAR Labs. They don’t have much of a relationship at first; he makes her suit for her after Harrison’s insistence, and they bicker over her superhero name, but their relationship doesn’t grow much further until the break between seasons 3 and 4 where they’re the more senior members of Team Flash.
Caitlin Snow is Cadence’s best friend, encompassing fire and ice. Cadence holds the fire and Caitlin the ice, both complimenting and contrasting each other. It doesn’t hurt that as much as Cadence likes Barry, she also likes Caitlin. Being the only girls in STAR Labs and with a shared medical background, they quickly fall in with each other and become best friends; often quickly defending each other and supporting each other when needed.
Joe and Iris West are the ones of Team Flash that Cadence are the least close to, to the point that Cadence hardly interacts with them. Cadence only knows Iris as the woman Barry loves, until Barry gets over her, and Joe as one of her co-workers at the CCPD. That relationship continues to develop at that slow place throughout the series, with only Barry as the anchor between them. However, there are times where Iris and Cadence will team up when trying to figure out journalistic mysteries and to tease Barry. Their relationship, due to Barry, becomes strained in season 4 when Iris is excited for Cadence to join the West Family, and Cadence coldly telling her that they aren’t and won’t be family as Barry isn’t a West and Cadence and Brady will never be Wests either. It is hinted that Iris loves Barry as well, and despite Barry never telling Iris he loved her and fell out of love with her, that Cadence knows it and is uncomfortable due to it.
Cadence’s past with the Assassination Bureau follows her through the first four stories (which was originally going to be the first three seasons/one fic per season, before I split Flash Fire and Crossfire in half)/her first arc through the series. She struggles with knowing she worked with them for the money to give a better life to her son, and leaving the past completely behind her. Breathtaker and his followers, Stratos, Mindboggler, Incognito and Brigade (Cadence) are very much like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. All until Cadence finally breaks through the darkness within her because of the Assassination Bureau, engages her full potential through the Fire Fall, and finally kills Breathtaker.
Starting in season 4, Cadence deals with the consequences of her action within the Assassination Bureau as well as coming into her own as a hero.
Cadence’s superhero name is Flare, though she’s also been known to go by Flash Fire at the very beginning of the series.

She’s Not my Girlfriend
Part of my Westallen trope series.
Barry's said that sentence a lot over the years.
The first time it happens is in fourth grade. Barry and Iris sat together everyday at lunch and played together everyday during recess. Iris made some other friends in the class, but Barry really only hung out with Iris. Their peers were growing out of the 'boy/girls have cooties' phase. So thankfully, Barry and Iris were being teased less for their friendship. Little did they know, they were about to start being teased about being more than friends.
One day, when their teacher told the class they could pick their own partners for their project, Barry and Iris immediately teamed up. Barry noticed the other kids snickering.
"Of course you two are partners." Katie Thompson said with giggles.
"The lovebirds!" Billy Peirce joked.
"Barry is always with his girlfriend!" Eric Nelson teased.
Barry was embarrassed. "She's not my girlfriend." he muttered.
"You spend all your time with her. You're alway looking at her. You like her." Katie said. "If she's not your girlfriend, you should ask her to be."
That was the day Barry started thinking about relationships and dating. He was only 9 and had never thought about asking out a girl, or kissing, or having a girlfriend. He knew he wasn't ready for all that yet. But, he began wondering what it might be like one day. Would Iris still want to hang out with him as they got older? What would kissing her feel like? Would she want to be his girlfriend? Iris was his best friend and needless to say, the best girl he'd ever met. If he was going to have a girlfriend, it made sense for it to be Iris.
It happened a lot in high school, mostly it was other students who assumed Barry and Iris were dating. Once, it was a teacher. Barry sighed as Mrs. Braden handed him his test with a large, red 'C'.
"If you spent more time studying and less time with your girlfriend you would've done better." Mrs. Braden said.
Barry was confused. He wasn't dating anyone.
Mrs. Braden looked over to Iris, then back to Barry. "I know she's very pretty."
Barry laughed. "No, um we're- Iris, she's not my girlfriend." he clarified. "We're just best friends."
Mrs. Braden raised an eyebrow before passing out the rest of the test results.
It happened once on Valentine's Day. Barry and Iris were both dateless and decided to go get ice cream together. He'd almost forgotten about the holiday since he never did anything to celebrate it. Iris tapped a finger against her cheek as she considered which flavor to order. She usually got mint chocolate chip, but claimed she was going to "be different" this time.
"I'll have rocky road, please." Barry told the cashier.
"And for you, Miss?" The cashier asked Iris.
"Um, I'll have a double scoop of mint chocolate chip." she replied.
Barry smirked. "I knew you'd end up choosing it in the end."
"It's just my favorite." Iris shrugged.
They paid the cashier and took to their ice cream to a table.
"Bear," Iris said, pointing to her own lips. "You got a little rocky road there."
Barry wiped it off with a napkin. "Oh wait, you have a little something on your face too." he said.
Iris took a napkin and wiped but nothing came off. "Did I get it?" she asked.
Barry shook his head.
She tried again. "How about now?"
"No." Barry learned across the table. "It's right," he pushed the cone of mint chocolate chip into her face. Iris's lips, nose, and part of her cheek were now covered in ice cream. "There!" Barry finished with a laugh.
"Oh you're gonna pay for that one!" Iris threatened.
Barry smiled and folded his arms in triumph. "Hit me with your best shot."
Iris kicked his shin, a little harder than necessary.
"Oww!" Barry cried.
They both burst out laughing. Barry loved watching Iris laugh. Her eyes creased and nose scrunched up. She thought her laugh was goofy, but Barry thought it was adorable.
The cashier approached their table carrying a banana split. "You two are just so cute!" She put the banana split down on the table and handed them each a spoon. "Enjoy a Valentine's Day treat, one the house!"
Barry's face turned scarlet. "Oh, we're not a cou-"
Iris kicked his shin again, thankfully with less force this time. "Thank you so much!" Iris smiled.
"How long have you two been together?" The cashier asked.
"Oh we've liked each other for forever." Iris said, already digging into the dessert.
Barry's insides turned to jelly and his eyes bulged.
"Well, you're the cutest couple I've seen all day." The cashier said.
Barry smiled. "It's easy to be cute when I'm sitting next to her." he said.
Iris faked a laugh. "He's the sweetest."
The cashier walked away and Barry glared at Iris.
"What?" Iris asked with a mouth full of ice cream.
"We've liked each other for forever." Barry quoted Iris's earlier comment.
"Oh" Iris giggled, "Well, it's not technically a lie! We may not be dating but we do like each other, right?"
Oh, she didn't know how right she was.
"And you are the sweetest." Iris smiled.
Barry laughed uncomfortably. He knew Iris was trying to justify her little fib, but he couldn't help the way his heart soared when she complemented him. He was giddy at the fact that a person assuming they were in a relationship was so easy for her to play along with. Plus, for people to assume they were together meant they thought Iris liked him.
Of course, if they were dating, Barry would've taken her somewhere nice for Valentine's Day, not some little ice cream shop. He would've brought her flowers. She would probably wear that pair of boots she liked so much (and he pretended not to like so much). Maybe he'd have enough courage to lean over and kiss her.
Then, reality hit Barry like a punch in the gut. He looked down at the melting ice cream.
"You're not my girlfriend." Barry reminded himself aloud.
"So? Nobody needs to know that." Iris told him.
Barry faked a smile and finished the banana split with her.
It happened once in Jitters. Barry would often come into Jitters and wait for Iris's shift to end so they could have a coffee together. One day, he didn't see Iris. He was sure she was working that afternoon, so he asked one of the baristas, Kelly, where Iris was.
"She's doing inventory in the back. But, she'll get off at the same time." Kelly said as she handed Barry his coffee.
"Thanks." Barry said.
"No problem." Kelly looked Barry up and down. "Iris is a lucky girl."
Barry didn't understand what Kelly meant. "Why do you say that?"
"She has a sweet boyfriend who comes to talk to her and walk home with her everyday after work."
It took a second before it dawned on Barry that Kelly thought he was Iris's boyfriend. "Oh, Iris isn't my girlfriend." Barry said, regretfully.
Kelly pursed her lips. "Could've fooled me. You act like you're in love."
Barry felt his body tense up. Was he being that obvious?
It happened at S.T.A.R. Labs a few days after Barry awoke from his coma. He was eating lunch with Cisco and asking about what he missed while in the coma. Cisco told him about current events, spoiled a few episodes of Breaking Bad, and told him that Iris spent a lot of time at Barry's beside.
"So, what's the deal with you and Iris anyway?" Cisco asked. "Are you like, together or..."
Barry couldn't meet Cisco's eye. "Um no, no. Not like that. She's not my girlfriend or anything. We're just.....friends. Best friends."
"So would it be cool if I ask her out?"
"NO!" Barry said way too quickly and way too loud. It was a reflex.
Cisco held up his hands in surrender. "Alright. Chill, I was justing asking."
Barry rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm sorry. I just meant um, she has a boyfriend."
"You?"
"No, not me. Some other guy, Eddie Thawne. He's a cop."
"You don't seemed too thrilled about that."
Barry felt his stomach drop. "What do you mean?"
"Dude, you like her. Everyone can see it." Cisco laughed.
"Everyone?" Barry squeaked.
"Well, I guess she can't. Otherwise, she'd probably dump that Eddie dude and get with you. She was real upset when you were in your coma. She talked to you for hours and kept saying how much she missed you. I think she's into you."
Hope filled Barry's heart. "You think so?"
Cisco nodded. "And that you seem excited about."
Barry blushed but decided he might as well just tell Cisco. "She's not my girlfriend. But, I really wish she was."

Hello! For both of you and your current muses — 🔬- Was there one scene you were building up to/knew you had to get just right? ☀️- Was there symbolism/motifs you worked in? 🎵- Did you have a playlist/piece of music that went with this story?
🔬- Was there one scene you were building up to/knew you had to get just right?
Riley: I’ll do the Flash and the Flame series as a whole. That’s where my muse is the most as of late. So, the biggest scene that I was building up to and I knew Ii had to get right was Henry’s death in Fuel to the Fire. It was a pivotal point in the story for Barry as well as for how the ripple effect would be for the rest of Team Flash, but especially how I extended the scene (spoilers) to him chasing Zoom, almost killing him, and then Cadence stopping him from killing Zoom because she knew he’d be running off his emotions and didn’t want him to do something he regretted. The scene is poignant because they’re both using all their power to physically restrain each other from stopping each other before both breaking down.
Rhuben: Considering it’s the only one I’m really working on right now, I’ll do my Flash Blindsided series as a whole. I haven’t reached it in my second fic in this series, Out of Focus, yet, but in the first fic, In a Flash, it’s actually two moments: both that had the situation where Averey became the leader. First was in the two part chapters that not only brought in Team Arrow, but also was the parts introducing Grodd and the second was when Ronnie and Oliver showed back up in Central City for the showdown against the Reverse Flash. Not only were they big fight scenes to write (and i loved writing them), but they also show Averey’s inner conflicts as to whether she feels she can be a hero, but also her ability to think on the fly to help Barry and the others in ways they wouldn’t think.
☀️- Was there symbolism/motifs you worked in?
Riley: Um, what symbolism/motifs aren’t there. Fire is the big one, of course. Every title of every story within the series explains what the general conflict of the story is going to be. Flash Fire is of Cade’s origin story, Crossfire is where a traitor is revealed, Fuel to the Fire is rising tensions, Friction, is a split happening within Team Flash, and Burn is the fallout from the split. Then, of course, there’s character’s names with Cadence Nash meaning ‘musical’ and ‘from the ash tree’ with Braden Nash meaning ‘spirited’ and ‘from the ash tree’. Cadence’s superhero name ‘Flare’ which is defined to mean ‘a fire or blaze of light used especially to signal, illuminate, or attract attention’ that goes along with her character and her superhero journey. There’s actually a lot, I could make a whole post about it.
Rhuben: Admittedly, there’s some I won’t even really put two and two together with until later when I’m re-reading what I write and it pops out at me. Then, I’ll really go with it. The title to the series and the chapters (whether they’re direct quotes or not) all have something to do with what occurs in the fic and/or it’s chapter. For the story titles, while they do have something to do with photography (I already have titles planned out for the next few seasons/fics), they also have to do with the character’s reactions to the overall season plot, and for Barry and Averey’s relationship as well.
🎵- Did you have a playlist/piece of music that went with this story?
Riley: More of Skillet’s really upbeat songs like ‘Hero’, ‘Not Gonna Die’, ‘Awake and Alive’, ‘Burn It Down’, ‘The Resistance’, etc. A lot of skillet songs. But no actual playlist.
Rhuben: I don’t make playlists for fics, but one song I was playing on repeat a lot as I wrote the first fic, that I remember, was “Downfall” by Trust Company. Oh! But one song that really stood out to me for this fic, was “As Long as You Love Me” by the Backstreet Boys as I was working out Cisco/Averey.
