Steve knew that something had shifted for him in the boat on Lover's Lake. Because Eddie was....Eddie was a lot. A lot of good and odd and talent wrapped in a wet rat package, and if the glass against his neck had been the first alarm beckoning him to wake up, then him half-nakedly taking the plastic-wrapped light from Eddie before being dragged through yet another portal only to be rescued by Eddie in the Upside Down were the times when the snooze button fucking broke.

Look, Steve's love language was acts of service; he was gone from those first few hellacious days.

Thankfully, Eddie was the most active participant in the sending off, and off they went to Chicago where Eddie somehow managed to fall in with a band that, after a few years, blew up thanks to a right place right time kind of situation. They played locally, hitting up dives in and around the city as they built their discography and finally released their first album. A song off of it garnered radio play, and soon enough, there were calls for a tour.

Then the tour became a reality.

And Steve, eager and absolutely supportive of Eddie and his dreams, encouraged him.

"You're absolutely sure this is okay?"

Steve nodded, ignoring the way his stomach perpetually lived in basement of his body now. "You're my own Bilbo Baggins," he clung to a shed of humor to keep from breaking down about it, even with Eddie's face lit up from the reference. Steve cradled Eddie's face in his hands, pressed his forehead to Eddie's, whispering, "Just don't take over a year to come back to me."

"I can't do this, Steve. I can't be away from you like this." Eddie's arms squeezed his waist tight, trying to hold both of them together.

It was three months, touring as an opener from a band based out of Akron, and they'd be all over the country.

"You've always been there, and I don't-"

Steve shook his head, effectively cutting off Eddie's teary-eyed babbling. "You can, though. It's not forever, and who can say that they actually get to live out their dreams?"

Eddie sniffed, his big brown eyes absolutely massive with the yearning to come.

"See what it's like, baby. You know, while you can," he teased.

Eddie pinched his side with a watery, "You ass" that sounded a lot like, "I love you."

They wore the words out, left them as bruised and battered as their hearts, and they cried themselves to sleep more than just that first night apart.

But they, blessedly, had a long way to go with lots more I love yous and touches and tears, both good and bad. This is just a short paragraph in that chapter of their lives. And Eddie got to live out his dream.

There are actually so many people I'd like to rp with or roleplay more with, but being a very ill person makes it very hard for me. I only reply every couple of months and I always feel like I have to apologize for it. I care deeply for each and every single one of my patient partners though.

For this ask, I'm going to mention @medicus-mortem because she and I have been roleplaying for a while and I just really vibe with them! I love how Ashi writes Law and our roleplay dynamic in general. No matter which character I threw at them, I had fun. Laffitte & Sadi mostly as I've taken Bonney off the list, but I'm also excited about our thread with Carina and the future ones we're going to write.

I wish I had more energy and time to give to my roleplay partners, as they all deserve it greatly. And I'm shamelessly using this ask as a shout-out to one of my all time favorites.

It was one of those nights when things get rather tough in her home. She's an adult. Reina could move out of her childhood house at any point, but a small part of her tells her to continue to look after her alcoholic dad and just leave on nights when he's out of his mind and not controlling whatever is coming out of his mouth.

It's one of those nights when she's grateful to have people she can go to, and she tells herself she will move out soon. Her dark hues are locked on the TV screen. She's not really paying attention to what's happening on the show that's currently playing. It's just something to look at while her thoughts are running wild in her head.

But those thoughts are interrupted when she sees from the corner of her eye Kino standing up, offering his hand to her. She raises her brows. "If this is your way of..." But she doesn't finish her sentence. Instead, she wraps her fingers around his hand and stands up. She takes a step closer, her hands finding their way to his nape while her forehead is pressed on his shoulder after she has taken a step closer to him, closing her eyes after it.

"Thank you..." The words slip out while her feet are following his steps, finding it still quite silly ( and a better distraction than looking at TV ) to dance in the living room when the only noise is coming out of the TV.

Bruce Wayne is canonically a very handsome man (he is called a "pretty boy" and he is in his 40s, for fuck's sake), and he is pretty famous as a rich philanthropist who doesn't want to leave his awful cursed crime infested city. So, there must be a ton of people thirsting over him on the internet. Fancams, edits, fanfics and imagines ("kidnapped with Bruce Wayne 😍 by a Gotham rogue"), the whole charade!

And anytime one of the batkids stumbles on a thirst post, they have the most dramatic disgusted reaction, loudly gagging, before sending the link to the batkids chat, because if they must suffer, then they should all suffer. Clicking on a link in this groupchat is like playing russian roulette, and getting rickrolled is a good ending.
